Adamant for Adaman
Banishment
Part 3
Author Notes: I live...kinda. I know it's been awhile, but with the new heat wave and a fever going with it, it's been a struggle getting my strength back. But i'm here and ready to bring forth a new chapter. So let's go. I do not own Pokemon.
2nd P.O.V
The moment you left through the village's gates, you returned all of your pokemon but rapidash into their balls before throwing them into your bag. The big fiery horse whined as his hooves stamped impatiently, eager to fly. His anticipation made you laugh.
He nudged his nose into your hair, giving you a much wanted nuzzle. You took note how he purposely shifted his body, practically covering you from Cyllene, Laventon and the guard posted outside the village. "Let's go for a ride."
You rubbed his back as he lowered himself. There was no saddle to put on the flaming steed, but that was fine. It wasn't the first time you've gone for a ride on him without one. But your biggest concern was the cargo. You on top of all of your bags...as strong and sturdy the raging unicorn was, you didn't want to give him so much to carry.
Then he looked into your eyes, as if he read your mind. Staring you down before taking one of the bags in your hands with his teeth. Using his horn to grab another, and again you laugh. "Alright, alright I hear you." With some rope, you carefully tied things onto him.
Tight enough to where it wouldn't fly off, loose enough to where even if he was going full speed, he wouldn't strain against the bindings. Once things were secure you gently swung your leg over, grasping at your pokemon's neck.
"You still good rapidash?" He huffed, bouncing you slightly before taking a little walk, showing you that yes, he was able to carry both you and your belongings just fine. Honestly he was such a stubborn shiny, but you appreciated him all the same as he adjusted to the weight. "Shishi wait!"
Rapidash turned, snarling flames as Adaman rushed your way. Irida, Arezu, Akari and Rei right behind him. Honestly, it was a surprise that everyone decided to come out after all the time spent you getting things situated. It would only figure they would show up the moment you were about to take off.
But you couldn't really talk to them. Not when the guards were watching. "Sorry guys...but I need to go. You should head in before they close the gates for the night." Adaman was panting, his hands on his knees as he struggled to breathe.
"Shishi!" You wanted to talk to him. To both of them. Because unlike Kamoado, both he and Irida believed in you and cared. They were your friends. Still you couldn't interact with them or seek out help. You couldn't forget Kamado's words that rang loud and clear in your head.
"You are hereby exiled until you can prove your innocence. And unless the Diamond and Pearl clan wish to be considered enemies of Jubilife village, there will be no aid for you."
At least from what you heard, they were willing to come to your defense. However you knew as well as they did that though both them and their people would be willing to, none of them couldn't afford to go to war for your sake.
They were still dealing with damages from when the nobles went on a rampage. Their civilians were struggling with injuries, broken homes and the lack of food with the strange changing weather and hostile pokemon behavior.
"You don't have to deal with this alone!" His hair was all over the place, usually it was held with a hair tie. Now it was a mess, covering pleading, guilty eyes. "Please Shishi...let's think this through!" Though Irida looked more composed, she seemed just as desperate to talk to you.
Sadly...that wasn't happening. You refused to let it happen. "Stay safe guys." Rapidash took matters into his own hooves as he stood on his hind legs. Breathing fire before he turned around, racing away from the Jubilife. Honestly you had no idea where you were going to go.
Frankly the farther away, the better. So you let your pokemon run, getting the exercise he'd been wanting for ages now. And considering how angry he was with everything, there was no doubt he had plenty of energy to burn.
Even with the sky in disarray along with the dim nighttime light, you knew Hisui's lands like the back of your hand. You saw how the terrain changed, from grassy fields and rivers, to swamps and mud pits.
Time passed, but much to your surprise, the fire pokemon kept going even as light filled the ominous looking heavens above. Even when his breath went ragged, began to slow his speed, he kept going. The humid, muddy environment shifted again.
"Cobalt Coastlands?" Now it was the salt filled ocean and the mountain plains. Rapidash was barely running now, trotting along as you glanced around. "Let's find a place to rest." Your pokemon huffed fire and smoke, just embers of discontent.
Apparently despite the obvious fatigue, he was still insistent on going. "Come on buddy, just for a little while. I'm tired too." He literally planned on running himself into the ground. Of course your pokemon had to have a hasty nature.
Stubborn through and through as he shook his head, disagreeing. Yet he still brought you passed Iscan's tent, heading up into the mountainous, tree filled territory. Wild pokemon ran away into the brush as you headed further and further in.
Eventually the two of you arrived at a little space hidden by trees about fifteen feet into the mountains. Aipom stared at you in curiosity while you hopped off the exhausted fire horse's back. "Good job." Placing your palm on his back, you gently guided him to his knees.
A suggestive push he didn't fight against, showing just how tired he was. You noticed starly flapping through the demented clouds as you untied your bags, setting them down one by one. After giving some well deserved rubs and berries to rapidash, you checked out your temporary campsite.
You were away from base camps, the wardens' tents, as well as water that you would need. Though the trees around you had fruit, you knew you couldn't rely on that alone. There also wasn't enough space for all of your pokemon to roam around.
Glancing up you took in the sky up above. Despite the trees, there wasn't much cover should rain or hail decide to come your way. A sigh escaped you as you dropped your shoulders. This little spot would be good enough for tonight, but it wasn't going to be long term. Not a chance.
Immediately you grab your map that had been stashed away in one of your many bags. You had gone about drawing it out the moment you joined the corps, adding on more and more details the further you went to explore.
There were options as to where to settle permanently. The little pieces of land out in the middle of the sea that sounded nice. It would be hard for anyone to follow you there. But...there would be a lack of resources, on top of that, any storms sent your way would be devastating.
But there was one section that would give you that distance away from everyone, provide space for your pokemon and even be able to gather resources without issue. You'd have to test to see if sneasler or braviary would heed your call, but if not, you had pokemon who could help you get there.
All ideas that...can wait till tomorrow. You take out a blanket out from your pile of things to cover the ground. Nestling right next to your loyal gray flammed steed. Startled when several lights flash out from your satchel.
"Hello to you too guys. Miss me already?" You gave a wry smile as your flareon, ponyta, ninetales and arcanine came to join the two of you. If it wasn't for the lack of space, you would've expected more of your pokemon would've come to do a bedtime cuddle session.
Still you appreciated it as various coats of soft fur settled against your tired limbs. "Thanks guys." Saving you the trouble of having to search for another blanket to keep warm. You closed your eyes, forcing yourself to relax as sleep overtook your senses.
Come the next time you reopened your eyes, there were a lot of things you had to plan for. A lot of things to do with so little time and hope. But...right now that didn't matter. For just a few hours you could let go of the troubles plaguing your mind. Accepting the darkness entirely.
to be continued
Author Notes: And that is the end of another chapter. Can you tell I have a soft spot for fire types? Because I definitely do lol. A lot of my favorite pokemon are those and can come in handy when it comes to camp outs haha.
That is it boys and girls. Not sure when the next upload is since i've unfortunately gotten sick. But I'll try to keep working on this stuff when I can. Ahem with that in mind, thank you all for reading this series. If you like the story, please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a lot to me. Tchao for now
