Adamant for Adaman

Banishment

Part 5

Author Notes: So is anyone surprised that this little series isn't so little anymore? No? Just me? Alrighty then...seriously. I had not planned on this being a long arc but of course I have to make this make sense.

I need plot and answers and bladia bladia blah. Honestly I make my life so much more difficult when I do this. I do not own pokemon, now excuse me as I go back to rambling.

2nd P.O.V

Thunder rumbled in the sky, a storm was brewing within the dark, ominous sky. It was a good thing you hauled ass the way you did. Within three days, you managed to make the home sturdy and comfortable.

It took a lot of time, effort and teamwork between you and your pokemon, but it was so worth it when you found yourself inside, eating an oran berry as the rain poured down in droves.

Your pokemon that weren't water types took shelter both alongside you in your home and in the shed that you had just barely managed making. A sigh escaped as you took another bite. Now that you have yourself a safe place to bunker down, the real challenge begins.

Figuring out what the hell is going on in this world. You tilt your head, already sick of the disgusting swirls of reds, greens, purples and blacks. Despite fending off Kamado's accusations, you have no idea where to start.

Granted there were still a bunch of places that haven't exactly been explored in the little bit of freetime you had, but with the lack of knowledge came risks and danger. If something happened and you or your pokemon got injured, there would be no one to help you.

It was actually scary now that the thought sunk in, knowing that though it was never truly spoken outloud, there was support to rely on. Guess that saying 'you never know what you had until it's gone' was true afterall. Still, you've always traveled and worked alone, this wasn't going to stop you.

"Let's see what we got to work with." Taking out your map, you start marking sections that needed to be added...wait. You sat there staring at the piece of parchment. "I'm right by one of the three lakes..."

You felt so stupid! Of course, what better place to start than with the legendary pokemon. If there was anyone that would have an idea, it would be the three lake guardians. Azelf the pokemon of will, Uxie the pokemon of knowledge, and Mesprit the pokemon of emotion.

Those three could help you figure out what was going on. "If I remember...Azelf is the one nearby." The geography was different compared to other places on your map, but you knew where you were. Veilstone Cape which was written down by one of the scouting members of the corps was staring at you right in the face.

"Guess it's time to do a little exploring." With a groan you stand up, rolling the map back into your bag. Your hands rested on your hips as you took in your pokemon. As much as you would love to take them all with you, that was only so much room to store them.

Now that there was a place you could call home, it would be fine leaving most of them. The grass and water types could care for the crops. The fire, water, rock and ground could repair any damages that may occur and all of them could protect it for you.

There was a part of you that didn't honestly want to leave. Exhaustion filled every piece of you. All the responsibility wore you down over the time spent. To be frank, you were tired of playing the hero.

Everytime there was a problem, you were sent out to handle it. Do this, do that. Ever since you first started your pokemon journey years ago, there'd been nothing but trouble. This shouldn't be your problem.

However Kamodo came to mind, how he accused you, was cruel to you. Then the various people that you actually gave a damn about came to mind. The professor, Rei, Akari, Irida, Adaman and the various members from their clans...

They didn't deserve to deal with the shit that was happening. Though there were other individuals who knew their way around pokemon, they had no experience dealing with legendaries or cataclysms like this.

Back in your time, you fought team Galactic, you dealt with pokemon deities potentially destroying your home and the world itself. "I wonder...will they remember me?" In the end, you couldn't ignore the ominous sky or risk sitting back.

You had to do this. "Now who to bring?" No matter what, gyarados was coming. Whether there was a need to surf or fly, that would be your go to pokemon. Ninetales would follow you regardless. Zoroark would be good against ghost and psychic types.

Luxray would help while traveling on gyarados, that made four of the six pokemon. "Lop!" Suddenly you felt a tug on your sleeve, surprised to find both Lopunny and alolan ninetales at your side with their pokeballs on them.

"You two want to come?" If it were up to your pokemon, all of them would probably demand going with you, but these two were powerhouses, they would have your back if things got dicey. A small sigh left you before you smiled.

Grateful, you hugged both of them, accepting their offer. "Alright everyone, listen up!" Each and every single one of your pokemon stopped to stare at you. "It's time we get this disgusting sky out of here, so i'm going to be heading out again."

Ohhh you were already starting to reel back. Some of them had sparkles in their eyes, eager to head out with you. "Sorry to some of you but I've already got a team situated, but here's the thing...I need all of you to help me out." Immediately you shifted your attention to the little hut and storage area.

"Whoever isn't with me is to stay here and take care of things. Make sure there's enough food, protect it against invaders, both human and pokemon, should weather or invasion cause damage, repair it. All of you have been with me since I first encountered you. Words can't describe how much that means to me."

You took a breath to stable yourself. This wasn't the time to be an emotional mess. "This place is my home, our home, so now more than ever I need your support. There will be times where I may need to call upon you for a certain task out in the wild, but this place is the true priority."

Another deep breath. "I know I don't have to worry about you guys while I'm out, but I'll ask...can you guys do this for me? Can you all watch over things while I'm gone?" They all cried out in confirmation, tilting their heads up high to the sky.

A deep warmth penetrated your heart. These were the pokemon that chose to remain by your side even when you were ready to release them back to the wild. When the villagers were ready to turn against you, they kept you from having a complete break down.

In the end, no matter what happens in the future, they have your back. "Thanks guys." You could breathe easy knowing that they would be waiting for you. That you actually had a home to come back to. It made facing the unknown more bearable. "Alright...let's go."

to be continued
