Adamant for Adaman
Banishment
Part 6
Author Notes: Apparently my brain doesn't know what "mini" or "small" or "short means because this is getting to be ridiculous now. Another series within a series-geez. Well, time to continue. I do not own Pokemon
2nd P.O.V
The ride all things considering was serene. There were no wild pokemon ready to ambush you as gyarados went from sky to sea. He landed gently, easily crossing the lake. "Guess we don't have to deal with your cousins being upset huh?"
Your sea serpent snorted at you but kept his gaze in all directions possible. He wasn't taking any chances and you couldn't blame him. As small as this area was compared to the ocean, there was always a risk of running into a hostile pokemon.
Thankfully he was able to bring you to the mini island where the supposed guardian would be. It felt odd being at lake Valor again, but good seeing how there was actually water and no dying pokemon flopping in puddles.
You must admit, it took a lot of searching since it didn't match completely with what you remembered from your time period, but it still looked the same. Just like the first time you met with the lake guardians, a large cave was awaiting you.
What was different was the fact that it had a sealed door. "That doesn't bode well." Maybe they didn't exist yet? Or they died? Of course it wouldn't be so easy... "Well for now, your job is done buddy. Return."
Gyarados waved his tail behind him before going back into his pokeball. Steadily you approached the cave's closed mouth. Hesitant fingers brushed against the stone. You saw the lines revealing where the opening should be.
"Maybe Azelf or one of the other legends did this?" It would be too dangerous, for multiple reasons mind you, to try attacking what is essentially a naturally made door to a legend's home. However it didn't feel like this is where it should end.
You had gone through quite a bit or roaming around to find it. Even if Azelf couldn't do much to help you or offer advice, you needed to at least try. "Huh?" Suddenly light came from your pocket. Reaching down, you pull out your arc phone, blinking at the light that surrounded it.
Glancing back at the sealed entrance, you maneuver your phone towards it. The light shot out as a beam, making an opening. "Whoa..." You had no idea if it was Arcues who decided to help you just now, or Azelf who saw the light and decided to give you access, but you were grateful nonetheless.
Taking a deep breath, you marched into the darkness. It's a few moments before your eyes were able to adjust to the dim lighting. Even if it was an issue, you didn't have to travel too far deep before finding the legendary there waiting for you.
"Azelf." They looked the same as when you last saw them. The glow that surrounded them if anything was brighter, illuminating the area around you. 'It has been quite a while since I've last seen you Shishi.' So...they did recognize you.
Even more they were able to telepathically speak to you. Both of those honestly made things a lot easier. "I'm glad to see you're doing well. I was wondering if you could help me out with what's going on outside?"
Before they and their counterparts were so weak, you had received vague visions to portray their thoughts and feelings. 'Yes. I am aware of the struggles you've undergone. I'm glad you came to me.' It felt so strange hearing a voice such as theirs in your head in comparison.
"What's happening? I had quelled the frenzied nobles, only for things to seem worse. Was I wrong to do that? What can I do to help?" Azelf floated down towards you, extending their arms in front of them.
Gently, you took their hands in yours. Their eyes and the jewel in the middle of their forehead flashed, the powers that enveloped them grew brighter and brighter, blinding you. Without thinking you shut your eyes.
In doing so, you were bombarded with images and visions once more. You saw rift in the sky that you came from grow wider and wider. You saw gods descend from it, attacking everything in their path, including each other. Then darkness that covered everything. You gasp, sucking in a deep breath with wide eyes.
"Is this...what I think it is?" Azelf nodded their head at you, confirming your suspicions. 'Yes. What you're enduring is the beginning of the battles between the deities of this region. The ones you and Cynthia so thoroughly read about and prevented from reoccurring from team Galactic's meddling.'
No. You clenched your teeth at the memories. Cyrus and his group had brought forth Palkia and Dialga, allowing the two of them to fight so Giratina would find an opening to your world. All three of them created catastrophes that took nearly two years to fully fix and recover from.
They couldn't be released again. Not when the people of this time already feared pokemon. They'd be decimated within minutes. "What do I have to do?" Azelf smiled at you, floating away. They tugged themselves away, twirling into the center of their home when another vision crossed your mind.
One you were familiar with. "I need the red chain again?" You bit your lip when they nodded at you. "But...it didn't work the last time! Cyrus had tried to control them using you and your fellow guardians' powers and it broke."
It wasn't that you were doubting them, but...if you were going up against potentially three god pokemon, you were going to need more. The red chain had only managed to slightly hinder one of them, with the other two defeated by you, all of the gym leaders, the elite four members and Cynthia combined.
'Cyrus lacked the red chain's proper form, that is why it did not work. He treated the gods as tools for his new world, angering them, strengthening them. You will be different.' You...highly doubted that one.
You didn't see pokemon as tools sure, but if angering them led to a revolt and them getting stronger, you're out of luck. "If you remember me, chances are high that they will too...something tells me my attempt won't fare better than his did."
They giggled in your mind. 'You come, asking for aid, Cyrus forced our power. When you prove your worth, the red chain will take the form best needed to fight them.' A frown formed on your face.
As encouraging as they were trying to be...you didn't miss that little tidbit. "Prove my worth?" Like you haven't already...again they giggled, probably able to read your train of thoughts. 'Come Shishi. Face my illusions, show me the fortitude and will to face the enemies ahead.'
It was expected. Not really a surprise in all honesty, but you did sigh at that. "It never gets easier does it?" Azelf gave you a look. 'Not when the world's at stake no.' Sassy little legendary. With a pout you bring out your pokeballs, ready to battle whatever they decided to go against you.
to be continued
Author Notes: And so the journey begins. For those of you wonder-screw Volo. As much as I love Cynthia, I didn't care for Volo, and well...considering what I know of the story, i can't say Im suprised. So due to everything, he is not going to give my character the support that happens in game. So no Cognita either.
At least for now. Still working on the chapters so things can easily change. But for now i gotta end it there. Everyone thank you all for reading. If you like the story so far please feel free to fav/follow/review since it means a ton to me. And I'll see you next time. Tchao for now.
