Veronica storms into the dining room, glaring intently at her father, fury evident on her face. To say she's ticked off is an understatement. She knew her dad was evil, but this was a new evil. Her dad had gone too far this time, separating Archie from Annabelle by sending him to jail.

Her mind was still replaying what happened a few hours earlier. Her cousin clinging to her, sobbing while the officers were hauling Archie out of the courtroom after being sentenced to Juvie for a murder he didn't commit, glancing at her dad watching gleefully as the whole scene played out. She and Betty were devastated seeing the poor girl so upset at the loss of her love. She also remembered how Archie kissed Annabelle, told her he loved her, and made herself, Betty and Jughead promise to take care of her while he was in Juvie before being taken away.

"Your evil plan separating Archie from Annabelle won't work," Veronica says.

"What in the world are you talking about?" he asks.

"You know darn wellwhat I'm talking about. Archie and cousin Annabelle didn't do anything, yet you're punishing them like they did. Why?"

"That boy and your cousin are becoming thorns in my side, so I've decided to get rid of them."

"How? By keeping Archie locked away and Annabelle a nervous wreck?"

"If that's what it takes, then yes. My niece knows now that I have her and her beloved little boyfriend in my grasp, and I can do whatever I please to him."

"You can't do this, Daddy! Archie's innocent and belongs with her. What did that poor girl do anyway to deserve this? Why do you hate her so much?"

Hiram smiles cryptically, "I have my reasons."

"I hate you, and I regret that I'm even your daughter." Veronica stomps out of the room.

"Where are you going, Mija?" her mom asks, suddenly aware of the situation.

"To take care of business," Veronica mutters.
