Chapter 1 Discovering the lie

Harry's point of view

I was sitting in Gryffindor tower trying to do my homework and I kept getting distracted. The more distracted I got, the more aggravated I got.

"Harry, we know you're trying to concentrate but…" said Fred

"But what?" I growled
"We have something we need you to hear, by the way, where's Hermione?" said George
"She's probably in the library" I huffed.

"OK" said Fred

"We solemnly swear that we are up to no good." the twins said together

"She's on her way back from the library". Said George.

When Hermione came back, Fred and George filled her in on everything, and then they produced these flesh coloured ear things with long strings on the end.

"Extendable Ears" said Fred

"And these…" said George "are Extendable Recordable Ears" pulling out a pair of silvery blue ears similar to the flesh coloured ones… "They pick up every word of a conversation. Great, aren't they?"

"We invented them."

"WOAH!"

"And you're not going to believe what we got on them when we hid them in here earlier today"

We listened to the recordings for 20 minutes and then a conversation that shocked me and changed my life came on

"I don't know how to do this Ronald Dad told me I needed to get Potter to knock me up as soon as possible, and I've been trying to think of ways to get that boy interested, but he just isn't I've tried everything. He claims I don't have the right parts!"

"Oh, that's juicy and gross" I shuddered, "I did tell her that though…"

"What do I do?"
"Keep trying."

"Find out whom he likes…"
"I think I already know when we had advanced potions yesterday, he kept grinning at Professor Snape…"

"WHAT? You mean He's gay, and he likes that filthy dirty disgusting brutal bottom feeding trash bag dungeon bat?" Ronald bellowed

How had that stupid little tart of a girl figured it out so fast?

"Do you?" Hermione asked

"Do I what?" I replied, "Do you like like our mutual giant bat friend?" said Fred, George and Hermione together.
"Yes…"

The next set of E.R. ears got Ronald saying some very prejudiced things. I won't repeat those words here even in a memory because I don't harbour any prejudices because I would be a hypocrite if I did.

He was being very homophobic, racist and ableist — and I was over it.
Little did Hermione and I realise that the worst was yet to come.
