Izuku stepped up and quickly got out to the athletic field along with Fujin and Raijin. He was surprised that Haruhime wasn't out there, but she may be changing a bit slower due to all the new girls and her being a little shy. Or maybe she was making friends, or perhaps they were all standing there talking in various states of undress? *Poof* Izuku had to reboot, shook the exciting thoughts from his head. He looked over at Aizawa, who was focused on a data pad in front of him, occasionally looking to see if the class had emerged yet; he nodded in approval when he saw the boys begin to stretch out.
He then noticed Raijin kept looking towards the tunnel, "Everything alright there, Raj?"
"Why yes, of course!" he said quickly, returning to stretching.
"She is already in our class, brother. I promise you she will be her soon?" Fuijin said, laughing.
"SHUT IT! FUIJIN!" before they could escalate, Izuku stepped in.
"Did you see someone you like?" he inquired.
"I just merely beheld beauty made flesh," he sighed wistfully. Izuku was shocked, one because of how soft and poetic it sounded and because…of how soft and poetic it sounded. Now, soft was not a word that would be used in almost any context with either Fujin or Raijin; the only time that was the case was when they were dealing with Eri, but that was everyone and, to a certain extent, Haruhime, due to her nature but other than those two cases that were never the case. It was shocking to hear him speak that way, let alone someone they had barely met. Izuku felt a little nervous as he asked his next question.
"So who was it?"
"The girl with greenish yellow eyes and hair," he said in the same soft voice, "her smile was dazzling."
"I don't remember seeing such a girl," Izuku said as he recalled all the girl's hair and eye color with fantastic efficiency, so much so that if his mother or Nemuri knew, they would tease him without mercy.
"I shall direct your attention to her when she emerges, but I would ask that you let me attempt to court her first," Raijin said.
Izuku raised both hands, "Of course, I wouldn't dare to do anything."
"You are a good friend, Izuku," Raijin said, slapping him on the back when Izuku didn't move. "I see you have become stronger. We should spar again soon."
"Quit playing around, you three; I expect you to lead by example!" Aizawa said. He sighed as Izuku had the decency to at least look admonished, but the Twins gave him a smirk that may have been intended to reassure the professor, but it did nothing of the sort. Thankfully, depending on whom you asked, the rest of the class began to emerge; Aizawa looked at all the smiling, happy faces and scowled behind his scarf. His mind drifted to the first time he stepped out onto this field. The anxiety had made him throw up in the trash can just inside the tunnel. It was then that…. Aizawa shook his head to banish the image from his mind; instead, he took a deep breath and came to stand before the students as they immediately gave him their full attention, led by the actions of the ARC students.
Raijin pointed to the set of floating clothes. "There she is, Izuku. Don't look," he said, suddenly spinning Izuku around.
"Um…Raijin, I can't see her," he said quickly.
"Yes, she was just about to look this way. I didn't want her to catch me staring!" Raijin said with a slight blush.
Izuku blinked and would have to file that away for later, "No, Raijin, she is invisible."
It was Raijin's turn to be confused. "That is a mean thing to say," he paused and remembered he was talking to Izuku. "I apologize, my friend. You are not mean. But are you saying that no one can see how gorgeous she is?" Izuku nodded.
"I think that is her quirk," Izuku responded. "It may have something to do with you being able to see into the electromagnetic spectrum."
"What do I do?" Raijin said, panicked.
"Well, maybe you should walk up to her and say hi?"
"I…I can't do that!" he said quickly and slightly loud.
"Then just say hi to them so you are not signaling her out," Izuku said. "Like when we are at the dorms later and getting moved in, there is going to be a meet-and-greet, I am sure." Raijin's eyes brightened in excitement.
"You are a good friend," Raijin replied as they saw Aizawa standing before the class.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, today we are going to perform a quirk assessment test," Aizawa said as he began to pace in front of them like some general; he had no idea why he was doing this but decided he couldn't stop now. "Now, this test aims to establish your baselines for the year; in previous years, this would have been a prime opportunity to expel or demote hero course students. But this year is different, with the expansion of both hero courses, the ARC class, and the probationary student. Some of you are behind the curve; being a hero is about more than your quirk. It is also about your physical conditioning. I understand that in most of these tests, your quirks will not apply; they will not show an immediate benefit. I want you to think outside the lines, try something, go for something. That is what this test is designed to do: to get all of you to think outside the box. I highly recommend you hit the gym and improve your score on these tests; we will retake them. If you fail to improve, you will be on your way to general studies. Now, 50-yard dash time, step up to the line when I call your names."
"This is going to be fun!" Mina said with a little hop; Aizawa's eyebrow twitched.
"Bakugo, Midoriya," Aizawa called out.
Midoriya calmly walked to the line, "Hey, nice to meet you?" he said, sticking out his hand.
Bakugo looked at him with complete disgust, "Don't care, just stay out of my way extra," he spat back, taking his running stance. He sneered when the white-haired boy stood at the line like he didn't care. Bakugo could barely suppress the growl of annoyance; when the gun started, he immediately fired off his Explosion quirk like rocket boosters; he barely blinked when he saw that kid standing on the other side of the finish line, "1.29," The robot called out. Bakugo stumbled but regained his balance as he pushed himself past the finish line. "5.78"
Bakugo's day, he just kept getting worse and worse. He continuously failed to place first and sometimes barely cracked the top 5.
Monami felt defeated at the beginning of the exam; she was definitely out of shape, and her quirk would do nothing for her in any way, shape, or form. She felt herself shrinking to the back, but for some reason, the girls in her class wouldn't let her. They kept pulling her into the conversations, offering her advice. When she said she didn't want to discuss her quirk and that it wouldn't help her in any way, they respected that; instead, they tried to offer her advice and just became her cheerleaders. A warmth formed in her chest; she had expected them to act differently from how they were, and it was a very welcome surprise.
Hitoshi was coming nearly dead last at every turn; everyone was doing better than him, and he mentally screamed in frustration. He expected some of them to use their unique quirks to breeze through the tests, and some did just that. He kept expecting some balance, but it was the same ones at the top, and that damn stupid Midoriya just seemed to be having the time of his life. The worst was when they were paired together for the sit-ups, and while Hitoshi was struggling, Midoriya kept saying that stupid motivational shit. He watched as Izuku excelled at tests and sat talking with the girls and some of the guys in class like it was nothing, while he placed last in everything; even the fox girl was doing better than him on every test.
Haruhime was sweating as she did everything she could on the test; her quirk was utterly useless as she couldn't boost herself, and boosting others wouldn't do anything for her. She enjoyed talking with Izuku and admired how he ran around and got sweaty. She was lost in the daydream of washing him clean as her towel slipped from around her. She goes to grab it, but he stops her; she tries to protest, but he silences her with a hungry kiss. As he lays her down on the tile floor….she shakes her head when she hears her name calling for the ball throw. She was thankful that she had decided to start exercising with him.
Melissa Shield
She was exhausted by the end of the testing. It was not that the tests were hard; it was trying to control One for All. 3% was taxing, but it gave her much-needed strength to excel at most tests. It was when she stepped up for the ball throw and was about to throw when she felt her quirk get erased. The ball fluttered out of her hand. She turned and saw Aizawa's hair floating. "What the hell?" she yelled.
"I want you to go all out," Aizawa said.
"Did you read my file?" she retorted.
"I did, Melissa," he said, walking over to her. "There will be times when you must push beyond your normal constraints. Being such a late bloomer, you need to work twice as hard to get your quirk under control. You can't be afraid to go all out when the situation demands it. If you are going to be the hero, you have to be willing to run through that brick wall. You need to figure out a way that even if it is just one punch, one blow, you can change the flow of the battle."
Melissa bit her tongue from immediately responding sarcastically, but he was right. She had to work twice as hard; everyone had their quirks for years, a decade, and she had just freshly inherited One for All. She wasn't looking forward to breaking her arm again; thankfully, Uncle Might had called Torino to help train her after Recovery Girl threatened to kill him if she broke her arm all willy-nilly. The older man helped her realize that going 100 was not the way for Melissa to go and that she needed to get her body to adjust.
Melissa took the ball from Aizawa and walked back to the circle; turning the ball over in her hand, she closed her eyes and let her mind try to work out how to do this without breaking her arm. She mentally ran scenarios through her mind, trying to visualize who to pull it off, and they all resulted in her breaking her arm…but what if she broke a finger? Send the energy racing through her arm as she threw it down to the tip of her finger and released it; she visualized the motion a few times and then opened her eyes.
Melissa took a pitcher's stance, kicked her leg, reared her arm back, and let it fly. Her body erupted in green light. The ball raced along her arm, collected at her finger, and BOOM! The ball flew like it had been launched from a cannon, and after Momo's demonstration, everyone knew what that was like.
Melissa winced at the broken finger; it rapidly turned purple, "I still got nine more punches left, sir," she shouted.
"Excellent. Do you need an escort to the infirmary," he said.
"No sir, I know the way; I will make sure I let Recovery Girl know you sent me," she said, jogging off the field. She gave the class a small smile as she left. Aizawa winced, for he knew that pain was in his future.
Ochaco
Holy shit, he is so damn cute! She thought as she stared at him, taking his stance for the long jump. Ochaco watched as he ran, jumped, hit the apex of his jump, activated his quirk to launch himself even farther, and then fell toward the earth in a long, graceful arc. She may have called out his name, concerned that he was about to hurt himself, but she saw him step again and tumble effortlessly across the ground before jogging back to the class with a massive smile on his face.
"Wow, Izuku, that was an excellent jump," she said as he came back, as she was getting ready to jump.
"Thanks, Ochaco," he flashed her a thumbs up, "you got this."
Ochaco giggled but put on her game face as she ran towards the line. She nearly biffed it, but she could jump and then negate her gravity, which sent her sailing over the pit; she deactivated her quirk and dropped towards the ground. Like Izuku, a quick reactivation of her quirk prevented any damage, and she didn't even throw up, so that was a big score in her book. It's tough to look cute when you're throwing up, even if it's rainbows, she thought.
She dreamed of this moment, of making it to U.A. and seeing him again. Whenever things got too rough, she would pull out the All-Might figure and talk to it. It didn't talk back in All-Might's voice but in his, or at least what she imagined it to be. Any white hair she saw in the streets would make her stop and look. She would walk by that store at least twice a week and look at the little rocket ride; she may not have sat and ridden it in the middle of the night once when she was having a terrible day.
It wasn't that she didn't have friends, or that there wasn't a boyfriend here or there or even a girlfriend once, but he just held this unique, almost mythical place in her heart and mind. Opening the door and seeing him there, him remembering her, the hug, his muscles, the warmth, the smile, it was all she had dreamed of. He didn't kiss and profess his undying love for her right then and there and promised to always be by her side. But the rest of it checks off the list just fine.
He seemed so relaxed and confident; seeing him surrounded and talking to everyone made her smile. The fact that he seemed to know all the girls a little less, but at least they were pretty cute, especially that Tsu girl.
When she returned to the group, she collected her high fives and joined in on the conversation as they watched the next member of the class take to the line. She could see something going on between him and Momo and that Itsuka and Haruhime were also interested in something. Ochaco noticed that Artemis was on the edge of the group, seemingly watching and smiling at the whole thing.
Artemis
Oh, Orion, she sighed. How is it that whenever I find you, there is always this horde of lovers around you? Well, except for that time in South America, that is a lifetime I wouldn't mind revisiting. I will not stand aside this time.
She stood at the edge, listening and watching before she felt herself being pulled into the conversations; she smiled; though she gave token resistances, she couldn't help but be swept along with the tide and their excitement.
It was nice to be surrounded like this again. While the world's problems were bare before her, she was happy that she was in the middle of it this time. Every day, she wasn't watching as those she cared for went without her into the depths of the dungeon, where they would face death so that they could survive.
Being a pro hero was not without its dangers, but in comparison, there was a threat of danger every time a pro would take to patrol, not the looming threat of death like when someone entered the dungeon. That was not to say that she was without concern; Orion's return was never without its dangers or troubles. Even memories she recalled so fondly when she had him to herself were rife with them. If he was here, something was on the horizon, and she had to be prepared.
Asterius's presence told her that, in spades, it wasn't something to be dismissed; if Asterius was here, then she needed to be on her toes; after all, she would be right by his side. She had saved him once and would be ready to do it again if she were called upon. She realized her gaze had been on him too long, and her finger was twirling a piece of her hair; that girl Ochaco was looking at her. Shit!
Tenya
He would have to find a way to visit a shrine as soon as possible to rid himself of the curse he had stumbled into. Two curses: Fujin and Raijin. The two boys were loud and insistent that he was their new friend. While he wasn't averse to making friends with his classmates, these two seemed unruly and prone to fighting each other. So, between tests, Tenya often found himself between the two, attempting to calm one, the other, or both down. Thankfully, he wasn't alone, as Izuku Midoriya and Haruhime Sanjouno were there, ensuring they didn't take things too far.
He had to admit that he was instead taken with Ms. Sanjouno; her style, grace, and sheer presence were captivating. His soft-spoken nature made his heart thump in a way he had never experienced before. She spoke with gentle command and a demur presence that reminded him of old tales his grandfather would read to him. Of proper etiquette and even courtship. As she seemed to be friends with these two rambunctious twins, it may not be challenging to deal with after all. Though he was troubled knowing she was part of the ARC, he couldn't even begin to fathom what kind of evils such a gentle soul like hers could have done to earn such a position.
His mind did wander that if maybe Haru became some crazed creature under the light of the full moon, he thought of her becoming a large werefox, her tails growing and flaring out as she raced into the night to satiate a hidden blood lust. He chased after her before they tangled, desperately trying to save her from herself. But what he didn't realize is that he had become her prey; he struggled against her only for her to overpower him…
He shook his head and blushed; thankfully, no one seemed to notice.
Izuku
The tests were easy compared to some things that Aizawa had put him through while training directly under him. Coupled with the rise in rank, it wasn't hard for him to top out in most events. The thrill of this being the first day overrode so much for him, coupled with the fact that Ochaco had shown up. It was borderline dreamlike.
His selfish side wished all his friends were here, all the members of the ARC, Reiko, Set, and Tetsu, but he understood that he was greedy. But Eijiro and Mina were here; Mina seemed nice. He had only met her briefly, but without Ejiro, he would have died in that first encounter with Overhaul and Asterius. Hell, without that mystery person, he would have died in the second encounter as well. He knew a third would happen someday; those two held a grudge, and so did he. If they were going to try and take Eri and Haru away, he would end them and face whatever consequences. Some things were more critical. He looked forward to getting to know the boy who had jumped to save him without hesitation and his friend who had stood with Haru and Eri.
Then he looked at Ochaco. It was so good to see her, but he couldn't describe the feeling. Not to mention, she had gotten rather cute when they had been apart. As that thought danced across his mind, he felt a pang of guilt for checking out his long-lost childhood friend after just seeing her again. Not to mention he had Momo, then there was Itsuka, Cassy, Haru, and, of course, the mystical Wind Fairy. But there was no way she would ever notice him; he was some 1rst year; he had to get stronger so she wouldn't have to swoop in and save him; if need be, he could save her.
His classmates seemed decent enough; that Bakugo guy seemed like a prick. He seemed to have some personal problem with Melissa. Then there was Melissa; Izuku wanted to hang his head in shame or see if he had a hormone imbalance because he was interested in so many girls. He watched as Artemis took to the ball throw, a silver bow materializing in her hand. She stuck the ball to the end of an arrow and let it fly. She turned back the bow disappearing, tossed her hair over her shoulder, and shot him a wink as she walked back to the class.
Maybe there was something wrong with him…
Aizawa
He watched as all the children did their best, trying to use their quirks to improve their scores. He had not expected them to push each other as they would cheer and tease their classmates. He watched as most of the class was pulled into it, except Bakugo, who seemed more annoyed that he wasn't the top scorer. It was probably the first time that he had ever experienced something like this, especially from the attitude he was displaying.
He looked over Izuku's scores and was surprised to see that he was doing better than previous scores and, in some instances, by a long shot. He would have to talk to him and see if something had happened with his quirk. As he watched the boy interact with his class, the smiles on their faces and hearing the laughter, they seemed to morph, and instead, it was Mic, Midnight, himself, and Oboro. The tree of them teasing and torturing him mercilessly, all the while he pretended to hate it, but in fact, it was the best time of his life. Then Oboro faded from his daydream; his laughter drifted away on the wind.
He had to make sure they were ready, and he couldn't let the smiles on their faces be taken away because he failed to do his job.
The world was unfair enough, but he would make sure he did everything he could to ensure they could keep those smiles while they were under his watch. He shook his head at how soft he was; he looked at Haru, thought of Eri, and knew where it all came from. He had not opened himself up in so long that they had wormed their way into his every day, even Izuku taking him on and training him, guiding him, the ARC, those eight students who were here going against the tide to make a new future for themselves. Maybe he could make a new future for himself; a simple change could make all the difference.
As he tallied up the scores, he called the class attention. Thankfully, they knew when it was time to focus and pay attention.
"Pay attention to your scores; your results for each test will be sent to your emails," he called out. "This is your benchmark. We will do this again next month; failure to improve will result in you being notified. Manami, Hitoshi, and Mineta have eight gyms, two tracks, and miles of trails available. I suggest you use them; the same goes for all of you! Mr. Midoriya, stay back a moment," he saw Midoriya nod. "The rest of you get changed, grab your packets from the classroom, get to your dorms, and get unpacked. I will be by later to review what is expected of you while you stay at the dorms. DISMISSED!"
The class walked away as Izuku jogged over, "Yes, Mr. Aizawa?"
"Your scores are better than the last time, far better. Did you have an increase again?"
"Yes, sir, it was after that fight with Ottar during the practical portion of the exam," he responded. "I have been trying to figure out how to control it." He saw a troubled look cross Izuku's face, "I was training with a friend, and my concentration lapsed, and I hurt him a little bit."
"Was your training partner alright?" Aizawa asked.
"Yes, it was nothing serious, amounting to nothing more than a bruise, but he has a quirk similar to Ejiro's: He turns into metal," Izuku said.
"Tetsutetsu in 1-B?" Izuku nodded. "OK, I am going to schedule you some training in the evenings with Impact; he has a strength quirk that doesn't shut off, and he will help give you some pointers and exercises you can do to help control your strength."
"Thank you, Sensei," he said as Aizawa shooed him away to join his classmates. Izuku hadn't gone far when Aizawa received a summons to the infirmary courtesy of Recovery Girl; he hung his head and headed for his death.
Boys Locker Room
Izuku entered, and immediately, he was getting teased for getting in trouble on the first day. He laughed it off and lied, saying it had to do with his support item. He went to his locker and began to get changed.
"Yo, Midoriya, how do you know all the hotties already?" Denki yelled out.
"I would like to know that myself," Mineta added. "And what was with you and Eijiro?"
Eijro laughed, "Midoriya got himself in a pickle, and I just helped him out."
"Bullshit," Izuku retorted. "You did more than help out; you saved my life. I don't know all the girls; I met most of them this morning. I knew Haruhime, Momo, Itsuka, and Ochaco beforehand, and I took the exam with Artemis. Oh, and I also met Melissa once or twice."
"Dude, that is over half the girls," Denki and Mineta shouted.
"Don't forget about Himiko, Aisha, and Cassandra!" Raijin called out.
"You're not helping Raj!" Izuku yelled.
"I hope that you are not here solely to make acquaintances with the females of our class," Tenya chastised. "We are here to be heroes first and foremost."
Hitoshi just muttered under his breath and grabbed his bags. "Are we going to see you at the dorms?" Ojiro asked, trying to be friendly.
"No, I am just a probationary member; I have classes to attend," he said over his shoulder. "Not everyone is super special and gets to live on campus!"
"Dude, that guy is a dick!" Sero said.
"He is attitude leaves something to be desired," Rikido said.
"WHO THE FUCK CARES!" Bakugo yelled, slamming his locker closed. "HE IS JUST SOME PROBATIONARY EXTRA THAT COULDN'T PASS THE REAL EXAM!" he stormed out.
"He seems friendly?" Mineta said, causing the class to start laughing. "But no, seriously, you have to hook me up with your hottie circle," he tried to call out in vain over the laughter.
Girls Locker Room
The girls were happy when they saw Melissa walk in. She felt a warm sensation as they all checked on her, ensuring she was alright after going to the infirmary. She assured them all she was okay, holding up her hand.
"Your quirk did that to you?" Kyoka asked.
Melissa nodded, "I don't have much control over it; I was a very late bloomer. Like within the past year late."
"That is rather extraordinary," Momo said. "To develop so late in life, if you don't mind, what kind of quirk is it?"
"It is a stockpiling quirk; that is the lightning you see when I activate it," Melissa felt a twinge of guilt lying on the first day, but she knew it was what had to be done. "My body was ready to handle it, so when I started working out to try and take the exam, I hit a stage where it manifested. But since it had so much time to build up, my body wasn't ready for it."
"Wait, does that mean you planned to take the quirkless exam?" Manami spat out, and when Melissa replied with a yes, all the girls froze.
"That is fucking Metal!" Kyoka said.
"That is truly inspirational," Momo added.
"How brave," added Haru. Melissa smiled as they all praised her bravery in deciding to take the exam quirkless, but inside, she felt like shit. She hadn't planned on taking the quirkless exam; she would be an inventor until that day when technocracy changed everything. She wondered if that day hadn't happened, would Uncle Might have even offered her the chance? He had kept the truth from her for so long; he had been injured for years, and if he had intended to pass it to her, why had he not said something sooner? She was happy when her attention shifted to someone else.
"So, Ochaco, how do you know Midoriya so well?" Mina asked, wiggling her eyebrows. "That was quite the hug he gave you?"
Ochaco blushed, "We met when we were little; he saved my life." The other girls quieted down. "I was little, and I ran blindly across the street towards a toy rocket ride; I was about to get hit by a truck when he ran out and saved me; it was when his quirk manifested." Ochaco smiled, "We were best friends after that, but when his mom finished school, they moved back to the city. We promised to make it to U.A. together…and we did," she giggled.
"That sounds like him," Haru sighed, and Ochaco looked at her. He helped save me and my little sisters Eri, Mina, and Ejiro."
"I just stood with you," Mina tried to deflect.
"And you promised not to let the police take us," Haru smiled. You argued with that officer until the pro heroes showed up," Mina blushed.
"There seems a lot more to that story?" Tsu said. "But you can tell us when you are ready." Haru smiled and bowed slightly to the frog girl as her tails whished back and forth."
"Those things are enchanting!" Toru squealed, "They look so soft I just want to snuggle them!" Haru blushed as the girls finished getting dressed.
The Dorms
Most of the class walked together to the dorms, the excitement building as they got closer. Once they entered, they all could barely contain themselves. Once they found their room assignments, everyone quickly dispersed to get their rooms unpacked and set up. The flurry of activity lasted until they were all called down to the standard room, where they saw food waiting for them along with Midnight and Aizawa.
Mr. Aizawa's speech was pretty basic; it amounted to behave yourselves, or else they were free to come and go as they pleased. After 10 pm, they had to enter through a security checkpoint, keeping the dorms clean, kitchen privileges, cooking duties, and personal responsibilities.
Midnight talked to them about being careful should certain activities happen, making many of them blush. She told them that all they had to do was stop by the Infirmary for contraceptives, and she handed everyone a box "Just in Case." Though her tone was teasing, she made it so they would relax more as they tackled a sensitive subject. She reminded everyone that they would be together for three years and would not shuffle people between classes because two people had broken up.
"Haru and Izuku, make sure you come by the house after dinner to see Eri. She wants to hear about your day and get her bedtime story," Midnight smiled as the two nodded. Alright, everyone. We are done here. Enjoy your dinner with us, and we will see you tomorrow."
The Walk Home
After they ate, Haru and Izuku went to Midnight's campus home to spend time with Eri. Izuku was happy also to see his mom, who was still settling in and had him do a few things while he was there. Eri was overjoyed to see them, asked a thousand questions about their day, and happily told them about her day. She snuggled down in bed and drifted off partway through her bedtime story. Haru and Izuku leaned down and kissed her forehead before they exited the room.
While Izuku was saying goodbye to his mom, he noticed Midnight and Haru had gone to another room; when they emerged, Nemuri was smiling, and Haru had a determined look on her face. Once they stepped outside, he was surprised when Haru asked to hold his hand. Izuku extended his hand, but when she took ahold of it, she interlaced their fingers together. He could feel the heat coming from her hand; this warmth was spreading across his whole body.
"Let's take the long way back," Haru said, her cheeks pink. "It is such a nice night."
"Sounds good," Izuku replied. They started walking. It seemed like such an intimate moment, and he wasn't sure how to respond. Her hand felt delicate and tender in his, while he was rough from combat training. "What did you think of the first day?" he said, cutting the silence.
"It was nice," Haru said, thankful for the conversation, hoping it would mask her pounding heart. "Knowing Momo and Itsuka helped to make it not so nervous, but all the other girls seemed nice. I hope to get to know them better. How about you?"
"It was great seeing Ochaco," he said. Most of the guys seem really cool, except Bakugo and Hitoshi. Wasn't it good to see Mina and Ejiro?"
"I was so surprised to see them," Haru said, livening up. "I am so happy they are in our class." When she stopped walking, they had just come to one of the fountains along the path. "But what made it real special was that you were there."
When she stopped, he did as well. As the words drifted to his ears, he turned to look at her. Her head was slightly downturned, her cheeks flushed, and she looked up at him through her eyelashes. He felt his heart skip a beat.
"Izuku," she whispered.
"Yes, Haru?"
"Aside from Eri, you are the most special person to me," she bit her lip momentarily. "I want to…I…" she took her free hand, placed it over her heart, and breathed. She lifted her head to look him in the eyes, "I love you."
Izuku stared at her wide-eyed; he saw her close her eyes and lean towards him, her lips pursed ever so slightly. The light from the fountain danced across her; she looked so beautiful and silhouetted there. He felt himself leaning down before he realized it. Their lips met; it was a tender, soft kiss. Slowly, her arms wrapped around his neck. When they broke apart, he started to try and speak. "I know about Momo and the others, but I love you, Izuku. I am willing to share you."
"Why? Why are you both so willing to…" he managed to say.
"Because we love you, Izuku," Haru replied, kissing him again. We talked about it, and that is what we agreed upon. We want to try and be together with you. Do you not like me?"
"No, Haru. You are beautiful. The more I have known you since that night, the more I admire you," he said.
"You admire me?" she whispered.
"You and Eri went through hell, you went through so much, and you have come out the other side still so gentle. It's so nice when you have every right to be bitter, angry, and shut off from everyone. You take such great care of her and of everyone else. You are so beautiful, and the longer I was around you, it felt so normal and familiar." He responded; as the words reached her, she felt her eyes water some. "You are so strong, Haru, so wonderfully strong. I would be honored if you would be willing to be with me."
This time, he leaned down and kissed her, and it was an explosion as her heart soared from his words. She opened her to invite him in, and she was in pure bliss when he accepted.
