Neb: I know it's been a while, but here is the next chapter. I do not own Red X. He is a character created by DC Comics, and while this is an OC wearing their character's mask, their backstories are completely different.
Bishop Auto Industries was the largest building in Castle Grove City. The owner of this company Lance Bishop rivaled even Bruce Wayne in wealth. He didn't just sell cars, but he owns several car repair places and auto part stores around the country as well. The news reporters from both Nightly Tower and King and Queen News would often refer to Lance Bishop as the definition of power.
Alec suspected that meant the C.E.O would have the largest ego in the town.
"Your thirty minutes late," Zack Devoid spoke up as Alec headed over to him.
"S-sorry," Alec apologized. "I lost track of time."
"Not a great start for your internship kid," Zack shook his head. "Now come on, my boss wants an exclusive with the head honcho himself."
"No offense sir, but what does this have to do with Sideslash?", Alec asked.
"We'll get to that," Zack shook his head. "You have to prove your worth first as an intern before I can have you chasing down stories about a vigilante. If you want to run down every dangerous dark alleyway just to get a photo of the guy, go work for Nightly Tower. They don't care about their own people, and they only want images of the gore. But Sideslash is more than that."
Alec flashed back to when he woke up in Lady Hazel's layer earlier that morning. He remembered seeing the heads of all the Angels lying on the floor. All except for Lady Hazel and the two blonde girls that work for her. Sideslash murders if your guilty by association, Nightly Towers might not be too far off from that. Still if Alec was going to avenge his sister, he needed to team up with someone who gets the job done. He didn't want the silver haired man running away with the three girls that works for him.
"My my, that's a serious look kid," a man in a red suit spoke up as they headed into Lance Bishop's office.
Alec straightened up as soon as he was called out and Zack gave the kid a nervous glare.
"No need to be frightened," the man, Lance Bishop, waved away their concerns. "I was a very serious boy myself when I was around his age. The man had long brown hair, green eyes, tanned skin, and a scar across his neck. He noticed that was the first thing Alec glanced at, as most people do. "There's a great story behind that one. But to summarize." He pointed to his war metals and pictures of himself fighting in the army in the middle east.
"Oh, um thank you for your service," Alec nodded.
"Mr. Bishop we came here to ask about your new model of Sudans that are being released next month," Zack continued.
"Of course," Bishop smiled. "Be sure to record from the right, that's my good side."
The right side of his neck was where the scar was most defined, meaning he takes pride in his battle wound. Alec pulled out the camera Zack gave him and started recording. The interview went on for quite some time, but after an hour and thirty minutes of talking about the Sedan he moved on to talking about truck tires his auto part stores were selling and the free engine oil changes that people would get if they buy the tires.
"This isn't a commercial sir," Zack explained. "My boss was most interested in the specs of your newly released sports vehicles."
"I'm sure he was," Bishop chuckled. "Tell him I'll give him a premium discount if he runs a few 'commercials' about the tires. Have a great day gentlemen.
Alec and Zack left the office and stared at each other. "What was all that about?", Alec wondered. "I thought you guys were talking to him because he was rich, but then I thought it was about his military career, but it's because your boss wants to know about what cars he could be buying?"
"Look kid, any job means you have to do a few tasks you don't want to do," Zack explained. "Some of those tasks are sucking up to some big shot because your boss thinks he can rub elbows with the guy. Anyways, you held the camera steady in spite having to hold that position for over an hour and you jotted down some interesting notes. So I'll tell you what, interview some of the lower on the food chain locals that work for this place, give me what you got by the end of the week, and I'll consider giving you my own notes on Sideslash."
"You got it boss," Alec nodded.
Back on the streets again, Red X chased down criminals left and right. From the remaining scattered Fallen Angels, to the random drug dealers, to even shop lifters. He went after all of them with quick and quiet attacks. He mainly attacked from the shadows and used his taser gloves, but if the opposing opponents would have their guns draw in certain situations, he'd switch it up to using his X'araang and his x shaped clamps.
"He's not showing up," Red X growled as he hovered over the roof tops. Sideslash, or the Beheader, whatever you wanted to call this guy was much better at hiding than Red X was. Maybe he just didn't have a target worth going after, or maybe the man was still chasing after Lady Hazel and her lieutenants. It didn't help that there was no signs of Cynthia, the Silver haired man, or any White Skull Syndicate members either. Red X spent the night interrogating the criminals he'd catch into revealing the White Skull Syndicate's location or at least their next dealing point.
"I don't know where they are," a Fallen Angel yelled at him as she dangled off the side of a building with her right foot caught in an adhesive red x mark that was holding her to the building. "I don't know where my boss is, I don't know where her allies are, I don't get told nothin!"
"Bad answer," Red X growled as he reached towards her with his taser glove.
"Come on man be cool," she cried before getting zapped.
Later he ran down a cocaine dealer by the Castle Grove Docks where the White Skull Syndicate use to make their transactions.
"I don't sell Redburst man," the drug dealer assured. "I have no association with any white skull mask men. Come on man, I'm just trying to feed my family."
"You should have kept your bag boy job then," Red X mocked him before tasing him and leaving.
It didn't take long for the papers to start printing Red X as the new vigilante of Castle Grove City. He stopped being careful and hiding, and now every person in the town feared him and his ruthless nature. But that was fine. Red X didn't mind being feared as long as he could avenge his sister and his x girlfriend.
"As long as I keep kicking doors down, someone will eventually come to stop me," Alec figured as he took off his mask after making it back to his room.
