The new applicants to this school arrived today. Ozpin wanted me to keep an eye on the woods, make sure they didn't get in over their heads. Was easy to track them, some had potential, some were floundering, but they would learn. I suppose that was what this school was really about. Learning how to not only survive the harshness of the world, but to combat it. Was a bit of a problem towards the end. The girl from before, the Little Huntress, and seven others. They fought against two giant Grimm. Split off to fight both in two groups of four. Handled themselves without my help, although I was there to show them the way back.
The Little Huntress, "Ruby" she called herself, was…..happy to see me. Wouldn't stop talking, was strange. Found out later she'd be leading the team of girls she had led into battle before. The other team that fought the deathstalker is led by a blonde boy. Something seems off about him, will have to pay attention.
Most interesting one by far, a beastfolk girl. The Faunus. She hides behind a thin disguise of fabric, but isn't fooling anyone. Must be another reason she hides. I admit I'm curious, but not my business. As long as it doesn't become a problem, will stay out of it.
