Upon arriving at Potter Manor, Harry was greeted by Mimsy and asked if he needed anything. Harry replied that he didn't need anything at the moment, but asked if the portraits had woken up. Mimsy informed him that they had started stirring in their sleep and that it would only take a few more hours. Harry decided to wait and explore the office in the meantime, hoping to find some important documents.

While searching the drawers, Harry discovered a hidden one. He wasn't sure how to open it until he touched it with his ring, causing it to open. Inside, he found a large book with a griffin holding a sword on the cover. It turned out to be his family grimoire, containing the history of his family along with all of their inventions and ideas.

As he waited for the portraits to wake up, Harry began reading the grimoire and decided to focus on family magic. He was still uncertain about the situation and remained cautious, aware that he could be attacked at any moment. He became so engrossed in the book that he lost track of time until he was interrupted by Mimsy announcing that lunch was ready.

After Harry had gone to eat, he knew that he would forget everything else when his portraits woke up. While having his meal, he asked Mimsy a few questions.

"Mimsy, are there any more Potter house elves?"

"Sadly, no, Harry. Most of them either died during attacks on houses they were working in or from old age. So, our five are all that's left."

"Alright, and can you pop into Potter properties abroad?"

"Without a problem, Harry. If the distance is great, I can do several smaller pops so distance is not a problem for me."

"Who taught all of you to speak so well? Every elf I had spoken to was speaking using broken English."

"Every Potter elf is taught how to speak properly. A few centuries ago Lord Potter had realized the benefits of educating his servants, ensuring that every Potter elf was taught to speak properly."

"If I take more elves, will you be able to teach them as well?"

"Yes, I will. It was one of my responsibilities when your grandfather was alive," Mimsy replied.

Harry thanked Mimsy for lunch and for answering his questions, then went back into the office. He sat there for some time reading more of the grimoire when he heard a voice from the wall.

"Good morning, young man," said the voice.

Harry turned around and realized it was his grandfather who had spoken. "Good morning, grandfather," Harry replied.

"Grandfather? How much time has passed since my death? And why hasn't my son awakened me?" Charlus Potter asked, surprised.

"I never woke you up, Father, as I never got an opportunity," replied another portrait. Harry turned his head and realized it was his dad. He was smiling at Harry and hugging Lily, who had also woken up and was sobbing softly.

"Good morning, Dad. Good morning, Mom," Harry said, crying as well.

"Good morning, son," they both replied. "Look at you, grown up, taking on the mantle of Lord Potter," his dad replied, with pride in his voice.

"Dad, do you remember our last conversation?" asked Harry. He wanted to know if his portrait knew about their talk in the Forbidden Forest.

"We spoke to each other?" he asked, surprised.

"Yes, we did, Dad. But seeing that you don't remember that, I will leave that for later."

"Yes, son, tell us everything since the very beginning. And I mean everything: who raised you, how was your childhood, how do you like Hogwarts, and everything I forgot to mention," said Lily eagerly.

Harry then began his tale. All his years with the Dursleys, his escapades at Hogwarts, the war, and what he had been up to in the last few days. His family, hearing his story, were understandably furious. Especially Lily and his grandmother Dorea, who were mad, and if they could, they would jump out of the frames to murder certain people, even though they were already dead. When Harry had finished, he gave them a few minutes to calm down.

"So, Harry, what are you planning to do next?" asked his grandfather.

"Well, tomorrow I am taking a day off and will spend it with the Weasley family. Then, starting on Monday, I am moving into the manor, and I will spend the next few days working on ideas for the Thursday meeting."

"And what are your plans toward the Wizengamot? Do you have any allies?"

"I do. I came to an agreement with the Greengrass family that we would work together. Also, Lord Longbottom and Lady Bones are very good friends of mine, and we have similar views, so I think I can count on them too."

"That is a good start. And have you started to write ideas on laws that need to change?"

"I have thought about it for a bit, but I have not started to work on that yet. I have a few weeks till the Wizengamot meeting, so I am putting this aside for a few days. I need to prioritize Hogwarts for now."

"I am glad that you are not trying to do everything at once, Harry. You need to learn how to not spread yourself too thin," his father said.

They spoke for a bit until Kobby popped into the office, informing him that a letter addressed to him had arrived at Hogwarts.

"But why did the letter come there? I thought that I changed my mail ward so owls would fly here."

"Maybe the letter was sent so long ago that the owl had chosen Hogwarts as the destination."

Harry was surprised for a second, but then he realized who could have sent him a letter that was sent days ago.

"Kobby, give me this letter at once," he said to his elf.

Kobby popped away and returned with the letter.

"Do you know who could have sent you a letter from abroad?" asked Lily.

"Hermione. She went to Australia to find her parents," Harry explained. And he was not wrong, as it was his best friend who had sent him this message. When Harry had opened it, he saw that the parchment was stained. His heart sank as he understood that it was tears.

Dear Harry,

I hope you are doing well there in Britain. And I sure hope that you have not been injured in those few days. But knowing you, everything is possible.

I have arrived in Melbourne, and it did not take me long to find my parents there. I just looked for a dentist practice owned by Wilkins. Unfortunately, it was the only positive thing during my journey here. When I unlocked their memories, they were confused at first, but when I explained everything to them, they went mad. They are furious that I dared to mess with their minds without permission. We have spent the last two days talking, but I don't know if they will ever be able to forgive me. They are asking tons of questions, so I know they are trying to understand me, but I don't know if it would help. They had asked me to give them a day so they could speak to each other, and I don't know what to do. I am sitting here, in my hotel room, crying non-stop. I don't know what I will do if they don't forgive me. Sorry for that rant, I just wanted to vent a bit.

Please say hi to the Weasleys from me, and take care of yourself. I will try to contact you in a few days, hopefully, I will have better news on my front.

Your friend,

Hermione

After reading his letter, Harry was in a terrible mood. He sat down on his chair, thinking if there was something he could do to help her.

"Harry, what happened? You look worried," asked his mother.

"It's Hermione. Her parents are angry with her, and she doesn't know if they'll forgive her," Harry replied.

"Poor girl. While I understand why she did what she did, I can also understand her parents," Lily said sympathetically.

"If only I could show them how much Hermione did during the war," Harry said, trailing off as he realized there might be a way to do just that.

"I have a question for everyone here," Harry announced, turning to face the portraits around the room.

"Has anyone here ever heard of a Muggle using a Pensieve?"

"I have," replied Elizabeth Potter, Lady Potter from three hundred years ago. "They cannot use it alone, but if they hold a wizard's hand while entering the memory, they can use it."

Harry smiled at her answer. "Then it looks like my plans will change again," he said, his voice filled with determination. Checking his watch, he saw that it was 5 p.m. "I have to go to the Ministry now. Goodbye, everyone."

Harry made his way to the Department of Transportation at the Ministry, which was almost empty at this time. He went inside the portkey office and was surprised to find it was not only a place to get a portkey, but also a terminal for international portkeys. He found a clerk sitting behind the desk and approached him.

"Lord Potter? How can I help you?" the clerk asked, looking shocked.

"I need an international portkey to Melbourne as soon as possible," Harry said.

"Lord Potter, the waiting time for an international portkey is at least three weeks long. Due to our office being understaffed and the process being very long, our waiting list is massive."

"I need to get that portkey today. Isn't there anything you can do?"

The clerk took a minute to think and then left the office to take a Floo call. A few minutes later, he returned with another worker.

"Lord Potter, if it had been anyone else asking this, we would have sent them away without discussion. But as we all owe you a debt, I called my colleague to cover for me while I make a portkey for you. It will take around five hours, so please return at 10 p.m."

"Thank you very much. It means a lot to me," Harry said gratefully.

"You're welcome, Lord Potter," the clerk replied, and Harry left to inform the Weasleys about his plan, using the Floo Network to travel to the Burrow.

"Harry dear, you are in perfect time for dinner," greeted Molly. Every Weasley was already present and ready for a meal.

"Is everything alright Harry? You look a bit disheveled," asked Ginny, looking concerned.

"A moment ago, I had to run to the Ministry, and I got a bit sweaty during that," Harry replied.

"What happened? What did you need from the Ministry?" questioned Percy.

"I needed a portkey to Melbourne," Harry explained.

"Is something wrong with Hermione?" replied Ginny.

"She is fine, but her parents are not happy with her. She is not sure if they will ever understand why she did that. So, I came up with an idea. I will take a pensieve and fly to Australia so I can show them what happened during that year. Maybe that will help," Harry said.

"When do you leave?"

Harry looked at his watch and replied, "In less than 5 hours. So after the meal, I am going to pack and go straight to Hogwarts. I want to prepare my memories so when I arrive there, I will be able to go straight to speak with Grangers."

They then asked him questions about Potter Manor and his conversation with his family, which he was happy to talk about. After he finished his dinner, he thanked Molly for the meal and went to pack a few things. He wasn't sure if he would stay there for a night, or if he would come back the same day, but he wanted to be prepared. After he finished packing, he left the Burrow and went to Hogwarts.

His journey to the Headmistress' office was short, as he had not met anyone, and after a few minutes, he was sitting inside. He started by writing a note for Professor McGonagall that he took the pensieve for a few days and would return it when he came back. Then he called Mimsy so she could bring him vials to store his memories. He sat there for a long time, selecting everything that Hermione had done. He hoped that it would help them understand her motives. It was already 8:30 when he was done, so he gathered everything and left for the Ministry. At 9 P.M. sharp, he was standing again in front of the portkey office.

"Lord Potter, good that you are here. Your portkey is ready, and we have informed the Australian Ministry that you will arrive there shortly. When you are ready to leave, take your portkey and go inside the booth. The portkey will activate fifteen seconds after that," the clerk explained.

"Thank you very much," Harry replied and decided not to waste any time. He went inside the booth. Just as the clerk had said, 15 seconds later, he felt a familiar tug and started spinning. The journey was far longer than usual, but then again, he never traveled internationally. He landed inside an almost identical booth, and after he went out, he was greeted by Australian Aurors.

"Good Morning Mr. Potter. My name is Ryan Gosop, and I am a Senior Auror for the Australian Ministry. Due to the situation in your country, every British citizen needs to be checked before we let him into our country. Do we have your permission?"

"Of course, do what you need to do."

"Thank you for your cooperation. First question: How long do you plan to stay?"

"I don't know for sure, but no more than two days."

"Alright, and do you have any magical items with you?"

"I do. I have a pensieve and vials with my memories."

"That's fine. The last thing, we need to check your wand."

Harry gave them his wand, and after completing some paperwork, he was cleared to go.

"We are done here, Mr. Potter. You are free to go. Unless there is anything we can help you with?"

"Actually, yes, you can. I need to find a pair of muggle dentists, last name Wilkins."

"The same muggles Hermione Granger was looking for?"

"Yes."

"Then we know where they live, as we had helped Miss Granger to find them." He then took a parchment and wrote the address for their home.

"Thank you very much for your help," Harry said and left the Ministry.

Harry decided to take a cab to get there, so he found one and gave the driver the address. The road took about 30 minutes, but soon he was standing in front of a nice-looking house in the suburbs of Melbourne. He paid the driver and left the car. He then went to the front door and knocked on it. After a moment of waiting, Daniel and Emma Granger opened the door.

"Mr. Potter, what are you doing here? Did Hermione send you here?" said Hermione's mother.

"No, Hermione had no idea I am even in Australia. I came here to talk to you. I know that you probably don't want to see me, but I beg you, please hear me out. When I end, you can curse and kick me out, but please listen to what I have to say."

The Grangers looked at each other, and after a silent conversation, they let him inside.

"So, Mr. Potter, please speak."

"Thank you very much. I will start by asking, do you know why Hermione had decided to modify your memory?"

"She claims that it was too dangerous for us there, but I don't believe that. If that was true, she would have left with us, and not messed our minds," replied Daniel Granger angrily.

"Mr. Granger, I don't blame you that you don't believe her. And I know that you will not believe my word, so I brought something with me."

"What is that?" Emma Granger asked.

"This artifact is called a pensieve. It allows you to see someone's memories as if they were your own. I want you to see what Hermione did, what she went through, and why she had to modify your memory. I think it will help you understand her motives and why she did what she did," Harry explained.

"What do we need to do?" asked Emma.

"I will add those memories in order so we can watch them all. Then, you will need to grab my hands as I enter the Pensieve, and you will be brought along with me," Harry explained and started working on the Pensieve. When he was ready, he grabbed their hands and dove in.

They spent hours inside, but nobody cared. They watched every memory that Harry had prepared. He closely looked for their reactions. At first, they were skeptical of everything, but soon they started to understand that they were in grave danger in Britain. Harry saw that, in the end, emotions were buzzing in them, but they held it together until the very end. When the memories ended, they left the Pensieve, and the Grangers sat on the couch. It was then that their emotions finally won, and they started sobbing. Harry stayed silent during that, allowing them to regain composure.

"Why did she want to stay there? If she knew how much danger she was in, why didn't she take us and run away?" Hermione's mother sobbed.

"For me. She knew that I was the only person who could defeat him, and she decided to stay and help me."

Everyone became silent at this point. When Harry realized that they didn't have any more questions, he wanted to leave, but Emma stopped him.

"Please stay for a bit longer. We will call Hermione so she can come here, and she will want to see you."

Harry only nodded in reply, and Daniel called Hermione on the phone. As the hostel she was staying in was only a few minutes away from there, they soon heard knocking on the door. Harry went to the kitchen so they could speak without him being there. He sat at the counter and then heard his best friend.

"Mom, Dad, has something happened?" asked Hermione.

At that moment, both of her parents rushed to her and hugged her with all their strength. They all cried for some time, healing the bonds that were broken during the last year. When they calmed down, they finally sat down, and Hermione started asking questions.

"Is everything alright? I thought you wanted me to stay in the hostel today," she asked.

"That was the plan until someone helped us understand your perspective."

"What? Who? How?"

"You see, someone brought a Pensieve for us, and he showed us what you have been through."

"What? That's impossible. The only person who could do that is..." She started, and then Harry entered the living room, smiling at her. She was stunned for a second, then she realized what Harry had done, and she rushed into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Shh, Mione, everything will be alright," he tried to soothe her.

They stood that way for quite some time as Hermione still could not believe what was happening. But when she finally did, they all sat down and had a very long conversation with each other.

When Harry left them, the Grangers were on their way to repairing their relationship. He said goodbye and left for the Ministry so he could return home and finally get some sleep.
