A/N: Happy New Years! This is my world, and I can make anything happen, right?... Metal is still alive, and Trent is still with the team! Hope you enjoy!
"Davis." Clay calls as him, Jason and Sonny appear at her office door.
Lisa looks up from her computer to find all of them grinning at her. "How can I help you boys?"
"You can bring your ass to the beach tomorrow night for our New Year's Eve bonfire." Jason says.
"A beach bonfire for New Years?" Lisa asked with a raised eyebrow. "Why not just go to the Bulkhead like we always do?"
Clay pokes his head around Jason. "Tent and I thought it would be good to change things up a bit."
"We're trusting Clay and Trent to plan the evening?" Lisa smirks.
"Would ya rather plan it?" Sonny asks from the corner of her office where he had been standing quietly.
Davis shakes her head. "Um no. My years of planning Bravo's parties are over, now I plan your ops."
"Is she saying she's too good to plan our parties now? Because that's what I'm hearing." Jason laughs. The next thing Jason knows, he has a half empty water bottle flying at him. "Shit Davis."
"Jace, I do believe that would be Lisa's way of showing dislike for that comment." Sonny laughs as he looks over at Davis, admiring how beautiful she is when is truly laughing.
"Thank you Sonny. It's nice to hear someone's on my side." Lisa says, hiding the giant that wanted to spread across her face.
"Sonny better be on your side." Clay says looking between the two. This comment earns death stares from both Sonny and Davis. It had been three years since they got back together and other than Clay they had been able to keep it from the team.
"Best friends forever." Jason mocks. "Anyways, Sonny you finally going to let us meet that girl we all know you have been seeing for years?"
"Now why would I go and ruin a good thing by lettin y'all meet her?" Sonny counters.
"Sonny, how long have you guys been together?" Jason probes
"That ain't important Jace." Sonny defends. He hated this, he hated lying to the people he was closest to in this world.
Jason looks around the office. "Come on man, the only two people that have met her are Clay and Davis. Don't you think it's time the rest of us meet her?"
"I don't know Jason. We'll see." Sonny says with a sigh.
"That's a maybe, that's further than I have ever gotten before." Jason says as she pats Sonny on the shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah." Sonny shakes his head. "I ain't makin any promises."
"Okay. All of you out." Lisa says waving them out of her office. "I am so close to being done and the sooner you leave the soon I get to go home."
"Only if you agree to show up." Clay smirks.
"It has been years since I ditched the team regularly." Lisa shakes her head. "But yes, I'll be there."
"Good. On that note we will leave you alone." Jason chuckles as he walks out of Lisa office followed by Clay and Sonny.
"Mm, Sonny it smells so good in here." Lisa calls as she walks into their apartment.
She finds him sitting on the sofa drinking a beer. "I wish I could take the credit, but it's all the crockpot."
"Well, regardless I'm looking forward to it." Lisa smiles as she leans forward and kisses Sonny. "I'm going to go change."
"Mmhmm." Sonny mumbles.
A few minutes later Davis returns to the living room and makes her way to the kitchen to grab a beer. She flops on the sofa next to Sonny. "So, the team is going to meet your mysterious girlfriend tomorrow, huh?"
Sonny chuckles as he drapes his arm over Lisa's shoulders. "I was just tryin to shut Jason up. I don't understand why the guys can't just let it go. They have known for what, two years now that I have a girlfriend."
Davis snuggles into his side. "You know the team, they will never just let it go."
"I hate lyin to them. I hate hidin what we have. I never thought I would love someone like I love ya Lisa."
"I know Sonny. But we get to be together."
Sonny kisses the top of Lisa's head. "And I wouldn't trade bein with you for anythin. All of the lyin just gets old. I hated that conversation today in your office."
Lisa snuggled in tighter to Sonny's side. "I know you did. What just under two years until you're out?"
"Lisa do ya really think we can keep this up for another two years. How much longer can I pretend I just share an apartment with ya, but spend most of my time at this girlfriend's house. How much longer will they be okay with not meetin her."
"What are you trying to say Sonny?" All of a sudden, she knew how Sonny felt all those times she had tried to push him away using the same excuse. "You're worrying me."
"Don't worry baby, I ain't goin anywhere." Sonny says stroking her arm. "What if we told the team?"
"Sonny are you crazy? How the hell does that sound like a good idea?" Lisa huffs.
"Davis, hear me out. Do ya really think they would report us? I mean, come on after everything."
Lisa stares at her lap for a few seconds before answering. "Rationally I know you're probably right, but I still worry what if."
"And ya have every right to feel that way, but there are several much worse secrets the team is hidin." Sonny says as he shifts so he can wrap both arms around her. "I really think it will work out."
"So how are we going to tell them?" Lisa asks, telling herself it will be okay.
"Uh, how bout when I show up without a girlfriend and they all question me about it, I um, just go like actually she's right here. And uh then wrap ya in my arms and lay a movie style kiss on ya." Sonny chuckles at the last part.
"Hmmm. I'm not sold on the kiss, but the rest of it sounds like it could work." Lisa returns.
"Or ya could just be my New Year's kiss and wait and see if any of them notice us makin out under the fireworks." Sonny suggests.
"Can you stop with the making out with me in front of the team please." Lisa laughs.
"Ah, so I should just stick to makin out with ya in the house." Sonny says as he kisses her, pushing her back onto the sofa.
"Mmhm. I do like this much, much better." Lisa says with a smirk.
"I'll keep that in mind." Sonny says before he attaches his lips to her neck.
"You better." Lisa's hands run down Sonny's torso until they find the hem of his t-shirt.
Sonny sits up and pulls his shirt over his head. He watches Davis follow suit. "Lay back." Sonny takes in Lisa laying in front of him in nothing but a pair of panties. "Fuck baby, you're so damn hot." Sonny lightly rubs Lisa's core through her underwear. "I feel like I need to thank ya for only wearin my t-shit and a pair of underwear."
Lisa shutters at the new stimulation. "Mmmhm. I'm always glad to accommodate."
Sonny slips the thin fabric to the side and runs a finger along her slit. "I can't wait to taste ya."
"Then what are you waiting for?" Lisa says with a playful smile.
"Ya really are such a damn smartass." Sonny chuckles before claiming her lips with his.
"You would be extremely bored if I wasn't." Lisa counters as he pulls her panties down her toned legs.
"Someone is excited about this." Sonny notes as he pushes two fingers into her.
"Oh god, I am." Lisa looks down at him and watches him slowly lower himself between her legs. "Sonny... Don't make me beg." She tells him as he teases her inner thighs and lower stomach.
"But it's fun to watch ya squirm." He chuckles. "Fine."
"Mmm. Thank you." Lisa moans at the contact. She looks down at Sonny and runs her fingers through his hair. "That feels amazing." Sonny reaches his free hand up and squeezes her breast. "Shit Sonny." She groans. As Sonny continues, she feels her lower abdomen start to contract. "Fuck." She moans before she falls over the edge. "Holy hell Sonny." Lisa breaths out as her body relaxes.
"Oh, ya liked that did ya?" Sonny asks as he strips offs his T-shirt and sweatpants.
"I did." Lisa mumbles still feeling euphoric.
"Good." He hovers over her. "I hope ya enjoy this just as much." He pushes into her.
"Oh Sonny." Lisa moans snaking her arm around his neck, pulling his face closer to hers.
"Is that your way of tellin me to kiss ya?" Sonny asked before claiming her lips.
"Mmhm. That wasn't that hard, was it." Lisa giggles when he moves his lips to her neck.
"No Ma'am, it wasn't." Sonny mumbles against her neck. "Damn it, ya feel so damn good."
Lisa runs her hands up and down Sonny's back. "So do you baby. Keep doing that and I'll be there."
"Is that so?" Sonny smirks, he would never get sick of being the one that could turn Lisa Davis into a puddle.
"Mmhm." She mumbles.
Sonny leans back a little to reach between them and pinch her nipples. "What bout that?" He asks already knowing the answer.
"Shit, yes." Lisa moans. That was what she needed.
"Fuck Lisa." Sonny groans feeling her contract around him, pushing him over the edge. He dips his head and kisses her before sitting next to her on the couch.
"I thoroughly enjoyed that." Lisa cuddles into his side.
Sonny kisses the top of her head. "Glad to hear it."
"Weird question." Lisa smirks.
"Oh god, do I wanna hear this?" Sonny chuckles.
"It's not bad, just an observation." She tells him. "How do we go from having a serious conversation to having sex?"
"Because we do that all the time?" Sonny looks down at her.
"Yes." Lisa laughs. "Like all the time."
"Ya know we have always had a pension for doin that, from the start." Sonny agrees. "We just enjoy the hell out of each other."
"I do enjoy the hell out of you." Lisa leans up and meets their lips.
"And we won't have to hide that after tomorrow." Sonny says looking into her eyes to make sure she was still okay with telling the team.
"That will be nice. We can like hold hands in front of them." Lisa chuckles.
"That's it?" Sonny cocks his eyebrow at her. "Nothin else?"
"Maybe a kiss or two. I don't know if I'm ready for full on PDA yet." Lisa tells him.
"I can work with that." Sonny strokes her upper arm. "I'm just gonna be relieved to be able to stop lyin to everybody."
"Do you think they believe us? I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together." Lisa draws circles on Sonny's chest with her finger.
"They ain't confronted us." Sonny states. "But I do see what you're sayin."
"I guess we will find out tomorrow night." Lisa smiles.
"That we will baby." Sonny says before kissing her.
"God Sonny, I'm nervous." Lisa says taking his hand as they drive towards the beach to meet the rest of the team.
Sonny raises their conjoined hands to his lips and kisses the back of her hand. "It's all gonna work out babe. And I'll personally kill anyone that threatens your career."
"Sonny please don't say that. I don't want it to turn out like that."
"It won't Lisa. After the initial you guys lied to us, I really think it'll be good."
"As nervous as I am, I'm happy we are going to do this." Lisa says before leaning over the center console and kissing Sonny on the cheek.
"Mmhm. Me too baby." Sonny pulls into the parking lot. "Show time."
They unloaded the food they had prepared and headed down the path to the beach. "There are the besties." Trent jokes as Sonny and Davis come into view.
"The party and the meat have arrived." Sonny laughs and makes his way over to the food table.
"Thank god. I think I speak for everyone when I say we are starving." Clay says as he extends beers to the two.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm workin on it." Sonny grumbles and heads towards the grill.
After Lisa made her way around the group, she made her way over to Sonny. She patted him on the back. "You're making good progress over here."
"Thank ya babe. Can ya take those two trays to the table." Sonny asks.
"Of course." Lisa says turning to pick up the tray.
Before she can step away from him, he loops an arm around her waist. "By the way ya look absolutely beautiful in this lightin."
"Thank you Sonny." Lisa says as she picks up the trays and walks over to the food table. Lisa hears someone walk up behind her. "Clay."
"Um, did I just see what I thought I just saw?" Clay asked in a hushed tone.
"What? Sonny and I talking?" Lisa beats around the bush.
"Davis, you know damn well I mean his arm around you."
"We um, we are telling the team tonight." Lisa whispers.
"Wait, for real Davis?"
Lisa nods yes. "The other night in my office really got to Sonny. If The guys would just leave him alone about who he is seeing we would continue to go about our little life, but everyone is so nosey."
"Damn." Clay shakes his head. "I knew it annoyed you guys when they did that, but I didn't realize it was that bad."
"It's a compound thing, if you will." Lisa says with a shrug.
"Ah." Clay nods. "For what it's worth, I think it will go over well."
"Thanks Clay." Lisa smiles.
"What are you two chuckle heads talking about over here all quiet and shit?" Sonny chuckles as he approaches Davis and Clay.
"The big revel." Clay laughs as he stacks food on his plate.
Everyone gets their food and settles around the fire pit. "Sonny, fantastic as always." Naima says.
"Thank ya Naima. I tried a new dry rub recipe."
"It paid off." Ray nods. "That's a really good flavor."
"Mhhm. Agreed." Metal mumbles with a full mouth.
"Good, good." Sonny nods. "Always good to try somethin new from time to time.
"Did Sonny Quinn just say it's good to change things up?" Eric chuckles.
"I like to call this personal growth." Sonny laughs.
"Yeah, that secret girlfriend convince you change is good?" Jason asks before taking a bite of his stake. He was determined to get to the bottom of this.
Sonny slowly nods as she glances at Lisa for last minute approval. "Yeah Jace, she has."
"Sonny man." Trent leans forward. "She sounds amazing, why haven't we met her yet?"
"Ya have, actually ya have known her for years." Sonny says, waiting for the bottom to fall out.
"What the hell does mean?" Jason pushes.
Lisa takes a deep breath before answering. "It means it's me."
"Holy shit." Trent mumbles.
"What?" Eric asks the shock written all over his face.
Ray glares at Sonny and Davis. "I should have trusted my gut after Serbia. I knew there was something up between you guys."
"Wait." Jason shakes his head. "You two are together and have been since Serbia, and what did Ray see?"
"Okay." Lisa says looking around the circle. "I know Sonny and I lied to you guys for years, we completely understand if you're upset about that. Just know that we wanted to tell you. It was a massive weight on us keeping it hidden from the team. I think we all know why we kept it hidden. We really hope that you guys can see past that and see how much Sonny and I love each other."
"I have so many questions." Blackburn says still completely shocked by the news.
"We know y'all do. And we are happy to answer those." Sonny taking Lisa's hand in his.
"How long." Brock asks.
"Well, it all started around the time we deployed to Mexico. I can't tell ya how much Lisa and I have tried to figure out how this happened and the best we can come up with is one day we were just attracted to each other."
"God damned Mexico? Are you serious?" Jason says more as a statement than a question.
"Yes. It has been a long road." Lisa nods.
"It has always been Lisa, hasn't it? Every time we busted your balls about being under some stripper's spell, it was all Davis." Eric says starting to wrap his mind around what just unfolded in front of him.
"It's always been Lisa, even when we were just friends. We knew our bond was special, but I don't think either one of us ever thought it would turn out like this."
"You told me it was off between the two of you at one point. And then Reise." Ray points out.
"We did break up for around a year. It was multifactorial." Lisa lets out a long breath. "Hiding from everyone we knew really took a toll on us. I threw myself into the intel job and was laser focused on it and nothing else. As hard as the breakup was, Sonny and I both feel like we needed that time without each other to realize just how much we need to be together."
"I'm impressed you guys kept it as under the radar as long as you did." Blackburn comments.
"Why now?" Metal pipes up.
"Lisa and I love each other a lot, this is it for us. We, uh, well, me especially, were fed up with lyin to y'all." Sonny lets out a long breath. "And we are really hopin that tellin ya ain't gonna back fire on us."
Eric looks around the circle before answering. "I'm not running to command any time soon."
"Did you two think we report you?" Jason asks.
Sonny and Davis both nod. "After the way Ray came down on in Serbia, hell yeah we did."
Trent asked the question everyone was thinking. "Okay, what happened in Serbia?"
"Ah yes, the balcony." Sonny shakes his head. "It was the day after the S-vest. I um, I brought Lisa lunch and we were talkin. I could tell she was upset, but doin what Davis does and tryin to hid it. I, uh, I rubbed her shoulder and stroked her cheek for a second. And Ray saw."
Jason turns to Ray. "And you were really busting his balls about that?"
"No." Ray huffs. "I had gotten the wrong impression and thought Sonny was just doing dumb Sonny shit. I had no idea the degree of the relationship. I thought I didn't want Sonny being selfish to affect the team negatively. But you guys have been together for years without any negative repercussions."
"I know it's hard to believe, but Sonny... and I did not take the relationship lightly. A lot of thought went into us becoming a couple and then getting back together. We know the risks, but it just got to the point where we were miserable being apart."
"And we are much better together than apart." Sonny adds.
Jason looks between Ray and Sonny, his eyes landing on Sonny. "Well, your strong hatred of Ray there for a while makes more sense."
"Um, yeah, that wasn't my best hour. The most important person in my life was slippin away from me." Sonny feels Lisa squeeze his hand.
"And I should have stayed out of your business brother." Ray says.
Davis looks around the group. "So... everyone is really okay with this?"
"What have I been telling you guys for years." Clay chuckles to himself. He always believed the team would react well to the news of Sonny and Davis."
"Asshole." Sonny laughs.
"You know, the more I think about it, the more sense it makes." Brock comments.
"Brock's right." Trent agrees.
"Look at those smiles." Jason remarks after studying Sonny and Davis for a minute.
Lisa realizes Jason is right, she can't stop smiling. "I can't begin to explain how good it feels to have this out in the open and have your guy's approval."
