As the group read through the interview, they were all silent, not wanting to interrupt anyone else at the table. However, their facial expressions showed pure shock and disbelief. When they finished reading, no one spoke, as they didn't know what to say. Harry, who was engrossed in his newspaper, was oblivious to the fact that everyone was staring at him. Finally, when he finished reading, he looked up to see everyone's shocked expressions, breaking them out of their stunned silence.
"Hey guys, are you okay?" Harry asked.
"Holy shit, Harry," replied Hermione.
"Good summary, Granger. Holy shit," added Tracy.
"I wish I could see the reactions from the Minister and his crew. Damn, it would be a sight to see," said Blaise.
"When did you manage to do all of that, Harry?" asked Daphne.
"Let's just say that I have been busy in the last two weeks."
"Can the Ministry stop Harry in some way?" Daphne asked her father.
"If both the foundation and new company are registered in the Ministry, then no, they can't," Cyrus replied.
"You have no idea how much of a paperwork nightmare creating a new company is," said Harry, confirming that he did register his enterprise.
"Are you looking to hire more people for your office, Harry?" asked Padma.
"I am. Why are you asking?"
"Because me and Vati could use a job, so if you have any openings, we would like to put our names in."
"Are you in trouble?" asked Hermione.
"Don't worry, we are not starving," Parvati replied. "Our dad's company was totaled in April as he refused to betroth us to one of the Death Eaters. Right now, he is working on rebuilding everything, but our savings took a hard hit. So we were looking for a job to help our parents."
"Be in the office on Monday at 8 A.M. I will introduce you to the rest of the team and will tell you what to do."
"Thanks, Harry," replied the twins, gratefully.
"Also, tell your dad to contact me. I am sure we could make some deal to help him out."
The twins readily agreed, very happy with how things had turned out. They came for a party, hoping to forget about their troubles for a day, and ended up with a job and an offer of help for their dad.
Harry was very satisfied with the interview. The reactions of his friends had only confirmed that Cuffe did a good job. He did not color the story, nor did he add too much from himself. Because of that, their conversation looked more honest, and it was a good outcome. He knew that on Monday, the office would be flooded with people, so he had to use this weekend to relax as he would not have the opportunity to do that in the upcoming days.
"What are you thinking of, Harry?" asked Daphne.
"How to spend my last free weekend in this month," he replied.
"And what have you decided on?"
"That I want to do something fun today and waste all day tomorrow lying and doing nothing."
"Have you come up with 'something fun' to do?" asked Hermione.
"I have. What are you guys doing today?"
One by one, his friends replied that they didn't have any plans for the day, so Harry gave them an idea.
"Then who is up for a trip to the Muggle world? I want to go bowling."
"Count me in," said Hermione.
"I have no idea what it is, but if it's at least half as fun as the rest of Muggle things, then I'm in," said Daphne.
"I would gladly join you, but I don't have any Muggle clothes," added Blaise.
"Not a problem, I will borrow you something," replied Harry.
In the end, everyone who was at yesterday's party decided to join them. As Blaise was not the only one who didn't have any Muggle clothes, they decided to go to Potter Manor so Harry and Hermione could find something for them. It took more time than Harry expected, but the girls had taken their time choosing their outfits.
It was almost noon when the group left the Leaky Cauldron and began their trip to the Muggle world. Harry was leading the group as he was the only one who knew where the bowling alley was. He checked it out before his first date.
When they were inside, they split into two groups as 11 people were too much for one bowling lane. Harry and Hermione were the leaders in each group and they explained the rules to them and how to throw the bowling ball.
All their friends had instantly fallen in love with the game. The chill atmosphere, allowing them to freely move and talk with each other, combined with a little rivalry, caused them to enjoy themselves so much that they kept playing for a total of three hours. They would have stayed even longer, but unfortunately for them, the alley was reserved for the evening for some kind of event. Harry then invited his friends to a cinema.
Daphne was especially happy when Harry offered to take them to a movie. She remembered perfectly the last time when they were in a cinema, and she was hoping that this experience would be as nice as previously.
Unbeknownst to her, Harry was hoping for the same thing. He was speechless when he saw her wearing a muggle outfit. She looked gorgeous, and he had to stop himself from staring at her. During the game, he purposefully stayed close to her, always looking for her in their group. It was not hard for him, as Daphne was doing the same thing.
This time, it was Hermione who chose the movie, and she chose "The Mask of Zorro". Harry went to the cashier, bought the tickets, and got everyone popcorn and nachos. When they took their seats, Harry and Daphne took two adjacent seats next to the wall. As they were all sitting in the highest row, no one would look at them, allowing them to enjoy the movie together without anyone bothering them.
All of them were sad to see the movie end, as they all loved it. As it was getting late, they all went back to the Manor, from where they all separated to go back to their homes. The last person who stayed behind was Daphne, as she did not want to leave Harry's side. He was not complaining as he wanted to speak to her.
"Well, I guess it's time for me to go home as well," said Daphne.
"Daphne, before you go, I would like to ask you a question," said Harry nervously. He had been thinking about it a lot, and he had decided that there was no reason for him not to do it.
"Yes, Harry?"
"Daphne, those days that I spent with you were some of the best in my entire life. I love hanging out with you, talking with you, showing you the muggle world. I know that I am babbling a lot, but what I am trying to say is that I like you very much, Daphne, and I want to ask if you would like to be my girlfriend." Harry said in one breath, looking into her eyes.
Daphne's reply was simple. She grabbed his shirt, pulled him closer, and kissed him. Both of them lost themselves in the feeling, very happy with their current situation. They only pulled apart as they had to take a breath.
"In case you didn't realize, that was a yes," she replied.
"Well, I am not fully convinced it was a yes. I think you need to repeat that so I can be 100% sure."
Daphne rolled her eyes but complied nonetheless. They spent half an hour simply snogging each other, taking only short breaks.
"As much as I would like to stay, I promised Mom and Dad that I would be back for supper, so I need to go."
They kissed one last time, and they finally let go of each other. Harry, with a dumb smile on his face, went to his bedroom to change into more comfortable clothes, and then he went for a meal with the Grangers and Tonks.
"You snogged her, Potter, right?" asked Tonks.
"How did you know?" he asked, flabbergasted.
"You have a universal shit-eating grin that every male has after snogging a girl he likes for the first time," she replied.
"Well, yes, we did snog after I asked her to be my girlfriend."
"I am glad you did that. It saved me a lot of work," commented Hermione.
"What do you mean?"
"Harry, everyone had seen how much you liked each other. For the last 24 hours, you have been following each other like lost puppies. The only thing we were not certain of was when you would ask her."
"Well, I decided not to wait and asked her today."
"We are happy for you, Harry," replied Andi.
After supper, Harry went to his room, as he was tired after the last two days. His dreams were full of the blonde, blue-eyed girl that had agreed to date him.
The next morning, Harry woke up in an excellent mood. He was sure that nothing could destroy his mood. And like always, he was wrong. The first sign that something upsetting would happen today came with a mail. He got a letter from Professor McGonagall.
Dear Harry,
I am writing to you as the portrait of Headmaster Dumbledore has asked to speak with you. Besides that, I would like to discuss a few things with you as well. So, if you are not busy today, please visit me at Hogwarts.
Minerva McGonagall.
Harry was very surprised by her request. He had no idea what she and Dumbledore wanted to talk about, but he decided to find out after going there. He ate breakfast and apparated to Hogwarts. He decided to talk to McGonagall first, as she could give him more information about what Dumbledore's portrait wanted.
"Good morning, Professor."
"Good morning, Potter. Please sit down. I am glad you decided to come here."
"I was curious about what you wanted to talk about."
"Then I will not waste your time and go straight to the point. Firstly, are you aware that you will have an opportunity to pass your NEWTS soon?"
"I am, and I will do that. I have even started to prepare myself a bit."
"Glad to hear that. Lord or not, having NEWTS is an important matter."
"My thoughts exactly."
"Now I can go to another topic. Harry, I am full of admiration for your work and what you are doing for our society. But I am a bit worried about your finances. You are spending a lot of money, and I do not want you to sacrifice your well-being or the well-being of your future family." His head of the house said bluntly.
"Thank you for your concern, Professor, but it is unnecessary. I have a budget that I am following, and I am sure that in the long term, everything will start bringing profits to me."
"In that case, I will not mention it again. I am sorry if it looked like I wanted to interfere with your matters, but I was worried about you."
"Don't worry, Professor. I am not mad. I know that you had good intentions so I had no problem speaking to you about it."
"You matured, Harry. Your room reading skills have improved a lot. And if you are not going back to Hogwarts, then please call me Minerva."
"I will try, but I don't know if I will manage to do that. After so many years calling you 'Professor', it might be hard to change that."
"Don't worry, everyone has problems with that. You will be slipping a lot, especially in the beginning, but you will get used to it."
"I hope you are right. Do you know what Dumbledore's portrait wants from me?"
"I don't. He asked for an urgent meeting with you."
"Then let's not keep him waiting." Harry stood up and went to the Headmaster's office. Headmaster Craig welcomed him there and went back to his job, allowing them to talk.
"Harry, my boy, good to see you."
"Good morning, Headmaster. You wanted to speak to me?"
"I did, Harry. Thank you for coming so fast here."
"So, what would you like to talk about?" said Harry, taking a seat in front of the portrait.
"I wanted to ask you why you decided to go against the Ministry," Dumbledore said bluntly.
"I didn't do that. I am doing what's best for society. If the Ministry looks incompetent because of me, well, it's not my problem. They had a month to start trying to solve those problems, and they decided not to. So I don't understand why you are saying that I am going against them," replied Harry.
"I know you too well, Harry. Normally, you would have cooperated with them and tried to find a solution that works for everyone. So please do not lie to me and tell me why you are doing this," stated Dumbledore.
"I do not appreciate you calling me a liar, Headmaster. I told you the truth - they were doing nothing, so I came up with my ideas, and it's the only reason why I am doing this. If they had announced that they were working on solutions, I would limit myself and would have started investing silently."
"You gave the Minister to understand that you would cooperate with him, and now you have backed down from your word," said Dumbledore with disapproval in his voice.
"And the Minister had no problem allowing some lackeys to attack my family and kidnap my son. Also, he had no problem throwing an innocent person into Azkaban for self-defense."
"Harry, things can't go back to normal if you fight with him. Kingsley made the decisions thinking they were best for everyone."
"You don't understand me, do you? I am never going to allow things to go back to what they were. That situation led us to two wars in which we lost a big part of our society."
"You hold the Ministry responsible for the Voldemort problem?" asked Dumbledore.
"No, the actual administration is not responsible for him. The ones to blame are you and your whole damned generation."
"How dare you blame me for Voldemort?" Dumbledore shouted furiously, standing out of his chair.
"Sit down, you idiot, and listen," barked Harry, shocking every portrait in the room. "Your generation is responsible for keeping the laws that allowed the Death Eaters to roam free. You were cutting DMLE budgets, sweeping crimes on muggle-borns under the carpet, and if you, by some miracle, decided to punish them, you gave them laughable sentences. This makes your whole generation guilty of allowing their regime to rise."
Dumbledore was looking at Harry with his mouth agape. He had never expected him to lash out so much. But he was not over.
"But you, Dumbledore, are even worse. Not only were you doing everything I mentioned before, but your total lack of care for the students under your care created the monster we knew as Voldemort. You found an 11-year-old boy, who lived in an orphanage that was craving for someone to care about him. When you met him for the first time, he was not a monster; he was a lost little boy who wanted love and attention. And what did you give him? Nothing. You even forced him to go back to his abusive environment instead of leaving him here, in the first place he thought as his home."
"During your tenure as headmaster, students were harmed, abused, and threatened, and you did nothing to stop them. You preached to give them a second chance so they could repay for their sins. But you did that by taking the first chance at life from their victims. Malfoy, Snape, and his goons should have been thrown out before my fourth year. Yet you kept them here, allowed them to do what they wanted, and how did it end up? 90% of Slytherin's older years are now in Azkaban, awaiting their trials. Everything they have done is your fault, as you could have stopped them but decided not to. The pile of your mistakes was growing and growing till it erupted, creating Voldemort. So please, take your empty words, stick them into your ass, and do not contact me again." Harry stood up and left the office.
