This chapter begins at the beginning of the "Candy" episode, focusing on the other characters that we didn't see in the previous chapters before getting back to the other storylines.
On the show, I only recall Xander eating one of the bars. Since we know he is the most typical of all of the teenagers, I thought I'd do a version where we would see the candy affecting Oz and Willow a bit too. I don't buy into ALL teenagers are already without inhibitions because Willow was very much self-controlled as was Oz. This chapter is rated T for a sexual scene involving Willow and Oz. It's not terribly graphic, but definitely something that I have never written before for them in ANY story.
Chapter 29: The Candy Curse Fallout
*****Xander's*****
Staying home from school was both nice and boring. Xander read all his news comics in the first hour after sleeping in. His mother went in late to work, wanting to make sure he woke up okay.
"I'm fine, Mom," he assured her.
"You have a concussion," she pointed out.
"It's not a big deal. I shouldn't have tried to stop those muggers," he said.
"You're not a vigilante, Xander," she said. "Just because you've spent time with Tony Stark, doesn't make you a hero."
"He's been training us in hand-to-hand," Xander shared.
"I don't think that's a good idea. Look what's happened," she argued.
"This town is dangerous, Mom. Jesse didn't even make it to his junior year," Xander reminded her.
"He ran away," she countered.
"No, he didn't. Jesse is dead. All the missing teens are dead, Mom. You know it. You have to know it," Xander said gently.
His mother stared at him a long moment and then sighed. She didn't want this for him. Why did he have to be so brave? "I love you, Xander," she said. "Call me if you need anything."
She kissed him and went to work. It didn't take him long to be bored out of his mind, so he called Faith, who came by to hang out with him until he ate lunch and fell asleep.
Then his beautiful girlfriend came by after school and gave him a candy bar to eat. They fooled around a bit before she left to get her dad to buy her candy from her.
"Are you going to go to school tomorrow?" Cordelia asked.
"The doctor said that I just needed to stay home one day," Xander said.
"Good. I missed your goofy face," she said, kissing him goodbye. "I love you."
"I love you," he replied, smiling. God, he couldn't believe this was his life. Sure, it was filled with violence and moments of terror and fear, but he had the most beautiful girl in the school loving him. He could die tomorrow and feel like he lived a pretty damn good life. More than most.
As she got into her car, Cordelia called Willow, who was at home studying with Buffy.
"Hey, are you bringing Xander his homework later?" Cordelia asked.
"Yes," Willow said. "I thought Oz and I'd bring him some dinner and eat with him. Just getting a quick study session in with Buffy."
"Okay, I'll see you later," she said.
"I told you, Will. I know stuff," Buffy bragged.
Willow decided to try a candy bar. "Are you going to help me sell mine?" she asked Buffy.
"Just video phone your mom. You know she'll buy them," Buffy suggested.
"Good idea," Willow said with a grin. "I'm not a big chocolate person, but these are pretty good." She gave Buffy a piece.
"I gotta go meet Faith. Giles is going to evaluate us. If he thinks we're good, he might let me go patrol tonight," Buffy said.
"That's great, Buffy," Willow said, smiling. "Call me if you want company."
"I think it'll be good to go with Faith since the last time we went out things went so very wrong," Buffy reminded her. "It'll be therapeutic."
"That's a good point," Willow said. "Good luck."
As Buffy gathered up her stuff to leave, Oz arrived. "Hey," he said.
"Hey," Buffy said.
"It's early to go to dinner," Willow said. She waved to Buffy as she left.
"I just thought we'd spend some time together," Oz said to her.
"Did you sell any of your candy?" Willow asked.
Oz nodded. "My parents took several bars. The guys took the rest. Of course, I bought like five bars myself," he said.
"You don't ever eat sweets," Willow said as she took another bite of the candy bar.
"You don't either," Oz pointed out. Then he sat next to her on the couch and began nibbling on her neck, which caused her to giggle.
"Would you like some chocolate?" she asked.
"No. I've had enough," he said. He resisted the urge to bite her neck. Instead, he sucked on her neck and unbuttoned her top.
"Oz?" Willow asked, surprised.
"Let me," he said. "You'll like this a lot."
Willow nodded and let him push up her bra for the very first time. Then his mouth went to her breast, and he began to suck, causing her to gasp. She wore a skirt to school, so he moved down onto his knees, his lips kissing the other breast. His hand began squeezing the breast his lips had abandoned while his other hand was moving to caress her leg, pushing them open.
Willow was flooded with sensation as her heart felt like it was going to beat out of her chest. Although there had been a few heavy petting sessions between them, Oz had never pushed her sexually. Once or twice, he had touched her breast, which she had found exciting. This, though, was an entirely new level of sexual experience. His hand now was venturing to touch her most private area, and she really wanted him there. She felt that something was building inside her, and if he touched her, she would explode.
Her face felt hot as he kept sucking her tits. She had no idea they were so sensitive. When his teeth lightly bit down, she nearly screamed. Then his hand was there, touching her in that spot she had discovered after reading a magazine article about the clitoris.
"Oz?" she asked.
"It's okay, Will. I love you," Oz told her, looking her in the eyes.
"I love you, too," Willow said, her heart feeling so full. Sensations bombarded her, and then she exploded in his hand at his touch.
"Wow!" she exclaimed as snuggled against Oz's chest. "That was incredible."
"Yeah," he said.
"Can I do something for you?" she asked, looking up at him.
"Some other time," he said, smiling at her.
Willow felt very lucky to have such a perfect boyfriend.
A half hour later, they were at Xander's sitting in his kitchen. His parents weren't home yet, so they were passing out the food. Willow was telling him about the band candy sales the mayor was insisting everyone but her sell.
"Well, aren't we the teacher's pet?" Xander teased.
"Technically, that's principal's pet," Oz corrected.
"Buffy thinks Giles is going to let her go patrol with Faith tonight," Willow shared.
"Better her than me," Xander said. "That new vamp in town is as tough as he is ugly."
Oz produced a candy bar for dessert, sharing half with Xander. Willow didn't want any of it.
"Are you ready for the SAT in the morning?" Willow asked Xander. "Have you been studying today?"
Xander flashed her a guilty look.
"Xander! Don't you want to go to college?" Willow asked.
"Not really. I can't think of anything worse than four more years of school," Xander admitted. "I'd rather just get a job and join the workforce, making money!"
"But you'll work for peanuts!" Willow argued.
"I'm not afraid of hard work," Xander said with a shrug. "I'll work my way up somewhere."
Willow was very upset. "Promise me, you'll look through the SAT book the rest of the night!" she urged.
"Fine!" he replied, throwing up his hands. Then he stood to clear the table. Willow and Oz helped him.
"I'm sorry, Xander. I already freak out thinking of next year when you and Buffy might be far away from me. I don't know what I'm going to do without you," Willow admitted. "We've never been apart since we were five."
Xander pulled her into his arms to hug, assuring her that things would be fine.
Oz at first found his behavior sweet and brotherly. Then something seemed to whisper in his ear that Xander wanted Willow for himself. She's ours. He knew that Xander only thought of Willow as a sister, but then Xander pulled away and smiled down at Willow. Oz felt his claws come out of his hands, and a red haze came over his mind.
"Will, no matter what happens, I will always be in your life. I promise," Xander said. Then he bent down to kiss her cheek.
However, to Oz, it looked like he was going to kiss her in a very non-sisterly way, and he snarled, "Get away from her!" His hand grabbed Xander's arm, but the claws were extended.
His nails punctured Xander's skin, and both looked at Oz in horror.
Oz froze, realizing what he did, and he immediately let go.
"Oh, God!" Willow exclaimed.
"I'm sorry!" Oz said. "I don't know what's wrong with me."
"You're bleeding, Xander. He broke the skin. Oh, God! Oh, God!" Willow cried.
"Hey, chill. It's just his claws. He didn't bite me," Xander said. "It's not a big deal."
Oz looked at Willow. Both of them knew it was a very big deal.
*****The Next Day*****
Giles woke up feeling very strange. There was a very warm body next to him, which was highly unusual, and he had a bit of a headache. He opened his eyes and found the very beautiful Miss Rushman staring into his.
"We seem to be in a somewhat awkward position," he told her, moving his hand down his body. He was completely naked, so he assumed she was also.
"Those are my thoughts," she said, giving him an easy smile. She sat up, careful to keep the bed cover against her naked top half. "I guess we had some fun last night."
"This is Sunnydale, so I will assume that we were most likely under a spell of some kind," Giles told her.
She arched an eyebrow. "It would take magic for you to have sex with me?" she asked him.
Giles flushed and sat up, reaching for his glasses, which always served as a protective shield. "On the contrary," he said. "I would expect it would take magic for you to decide to sleep with me."
His cell phone rang. "Excuse me," he said. Natalie used his distraction to get out of bed and grab her clothes, so he averted his eyes. "Hello."
"Yes, Buffy, I am awake," he said. "I appreciate that. Give me a few minutes."
"What did she say?" Natalie asked, standing in her bra and panties. Rupert tried to avoid looking, which she found incredibly sweet. "We had sex—more than once if I remember correctly. I was a very willing participant. We both clearly remember it, so we weren't drugged. There's no reason for you to act like you have no right to see me half-dressed, especially when we both had a very good time."
"Yes, well, it was unprofessional," he said.
"Maybe so," she agreed. "But we are both adults and entitled to a private life. We aren't married or involved with others. We didn't do anything wrong." She finished getting dressed and then leaned over and kissed him before leaving the room.
Once the fog cleared from the kiss, another memory returned.
Angel.
"Oh, God!" he exclaimed and threw on some clothes.
Buffy had elected to avoid her mother's personal life and stayed the night there. Only the disgust and horror of seeing naked Giles kept her from storming into his room to demand to know why he let Angel out without talking to her first.
Of course, she knew that he and Natalie were under the influence of the cursed chocolate, but still. Giles was always the best man she knew. Buffy couldn't imagine that any version of him was terribly irresponsible. Sure, he did that demon raising spell, but this was Giles. She could not fathom he would do something to hurt her. Who could blame him for wanting to have sex with a beautiful and available woman that was basically throwing herself at him? Letting out Angel, though, seemed very unGiles like.
Faith came into the room where Buffy was pacing. "Are you up already? It's not even noon," she said, yawning.
"Giles is awake, and he's going to come in here and explain why he let Angel loose," Buffy said.
"Please tell me you didn't interrupt him boinking the hot bodyguard," Faith said, grinning.
"No, of course not!" Buffy said, shuddering. "I called his cell!"
"Smart," Faith said, pouring a cup of coffee.
"One naked parental was enough for a lifetime," Buffy reminded her.
Faith snickered. "Oh, yeah, I forgot! Mr. C got some of that hot slayer mom finally, and Giles got lucky, too," Faith said. "We need to find us some now. Bring your hot blind guy back. His friend was super cute. Hot college guys sound good to me!"
"Faith, can you focus for two seconds?" Buffy asked, annoyed.
"Don't your SAT's start at nine? What are you even doing here?" Faith asked, looking at the time.
"Willow's on her way to pick me up," Buffy said. "I told her what went down last night. She said that Oz ate too much of the candy and was a bit odd himself."
"What did he do?" Faith asked.
Buffy shrugged. "She didn't say. Just that he wasn't very Ozlike," Buffy said. "Said she'd tell me in person."
Then Wesley came into the room. "Good morning girls. I just finished my report on last night's shenanigans. I think this might make this month's Watcher Weekly!" Wesley said with a bright smile.
"Watcher Weekly? Seriously?" Faith asked. "You guys have got to get a life!"
"Wes, Angel is gone. Why would Giles let him out?" Buffy asked.
"I would assume because he decided that the vampire was not a threat," Wesley said. "I cannot believe you locked a vampire up in this house without telling me to begin with. Nor do I understand how he is back when you killed him."
"It means something. Something important," Buffy said. "He was sent back. The Powers have a plan for him."
Giles came into the room. "Good morning," he said.
"Well, look who decided to do the walk of shame," Faith teased.
"I do not believe my personal life is any of your business," Giles said with a haughty look. He poured himself a cup of coffee as Natalie joined them.
"It is definitely none of her business," she said.
Faith kept the grin on her face but refrained from commenting.
"Why did you let Angel out without talking to me?" Buffy asked Giles.
Giles felt sick as he remembered what happened with Angel, and he glanced at Natalie, who mumbled a Russian prayer under her breath before speaking. "We didn't exactly do that," she said.
"What do you mean?" Buffy asked, confused.
"It was very unprofessional of you to do anything without consulting me," Wesley chimed in.
"Well, as you might know, we weren't quite in our right minds," Giles pointed out.
"Yes, your old pal Ethan Rayne was in town and cursed the band candy, so the mayor could feed babies to some demon," Buffy shared. "The mayor's deputy was with us and help stop the ritual and saved the babies."
"Does he know Mr. Barton is on our side?" Giles wondered.
"No, he used his arrows from a distant," Faith told them. "He's pretty bad ass for a politician. He's got my vote."
"Well, he's not really a politician. He's an agent of SHIELD," Wesley reminded her.
"We're getting off topic," Buffy said. "Where is Angel? Is he okay? Are you sure it's safe to release him? You should have let me decide that. I know him best."
"I agree," Wesley said. "She would be the one most qualified to evaluate his state of mind."
"We didn't release him," Giles said. "I'm sorry, Buffy."
"I staked him," Natalie said.
"What?" Buffy asked disbelieving.
Even Faith looked stunned. "What do you mean? Did you give him blood and he attacked you or something?" Faith asked.
Natalie shook her head. "No. Rupert said he wore the face of his torturer, but that Buffy loved him. He knew that Angel was a threat to Buffy's safety, but he could not do anything about it," she said. "So I told him that I would." Natasha decided that the best way to play it was straight up. Buffy was a slayer; it was her job to take out threats. Natasha was simply doing the same thing. Surely, Buffy would see and understand that.
She was wrong.
"You barely know me. You didn't know Angel at all, but you decided to kill the man you knew I loved?" Buffy said coldly, advancing toward Natalie with every word.
Faith looked to Wesley for guidance as she knew that the bitch was about to get a beat down. Should she stop it? Didn't she deserve it? Wesley, though, wasn't looking at Faith but Giles.
"If your watcher decided that it should be done, then it was within his right to do so," Wesley said. "Of course, he wasn't in his right mind when he made that decision."
Buffy ignored Faith's watcher as she didn't want to fight with Faith because Natalie was going to learn the meaning of the word pain.
"Buffy, I'm sorry," Giles said. "I feel sick. I wasn't a very good person when I was younger."
"You were friends with Ethan Rayne, so I guess that shouldn't surprise me," Buffy said hollowly. She couldn't look at Giles. She would deal with his betrayal later. Right now, she was entirely focused on the woman who dared kill Angel. Without preamble, she pulled back her right hand and decked Natalie so hard that she went airborne, falling over the sofa.
However, she quickly jumped up, ready to meet Buffy, who was already on top of her, striking out.
"Buffy, stop it!" Giles said. The two women ignored him and began to fight.
Natasha knew how good Buffy was, but she had never fought a slayer intent on hurting her. Buffy was out to do her harm, and her fighting was pressing Natasha harder than she had ever been pressed in her life. Already, she could tell a rib was cracked. The blurred vision and head pain indicated a possible concussion. Buffy kicked her in the face, and Nat knew her jaw was broken.
"Stop it!" Giles yelled. "You're going to kill her!"
"No. She killed Angel. As long as she can get up and fight, she isn't in pain enough!" Buffy snarled.
Willow, Oz, Cordelia and Xander arrived ready to confess their own night of horror, so they could try and focus on the SAT with reassurance from Giles that everything would be fine. However, they walked in on Buffy beating Willow's bodyguard to a bloody pulp.
"What the heck is going on?" Willow exclaimed. She used one of the few magic spells she knew to pull Buffy off Natalie, forcing Buffy to stop hurting her bodyguard.
"Natalie killed Angel," Buffy shared.
"Angel's already dead, Buffy," Xander said, confused.
"He was but he came back," Faith said. "We trapped him in the Hulk room."
"It was Angel, not Angelus. He wasn't in his right mind at first, but he was fine. He spoke and everything," Buffy said, her eyes filling with tears as the rage leaked into grief. "Giles let her kill him!"
Now the group looked at Giles.
"That's awful, Buffy," Willow said with compassion. "Unfortunately, we have a bigger issue. Oz ate too much band candy himself and clawed Xander in an uncharacteristic display of jealousy."
Xander held up his bandaged arm.
"Does that mean I'm going to get furry and howl at the full moon?" Xander asked Giles.
*****To Be Continued*****
I hope you found this update exciting and fun to read! Comments and reviews are much appreciated. I know there's an Alpha Xander series where he sleeps with everyone. Naturally, I will NOT be going that way with my storyline. Thanks for reading.
