Chapter Preface: Recently, like many Highlander fans, I was sad to hear on January 11th 2020, Stan Kirsch had passed away. He had played Richie Ryan on the series, and he will be missed by one and all in the Highlander community.
Chapter Summary: Vida finds herself in Seacouver, a couple of cities outside of Briarwood and she meets her mentor and possibly her love interest.
Road to a New Destiny
Vida sighed as she looked up at the dusk sky. She had been wandering for a couple of days, and it was a miracle that the others haven't gone looking for her. It was better this way because she needed answers to what exactly happened to her.
Something told her that she would find answers in this town. However, there was something about the answers which made her feel nervous. What was she about to find out?
Vida walked over to what appeared to be a gym, she was at the parking lot of that gym. She had this strange feeling she would find answers at this place. The answers would be awaiting her real soon. She could feel it.
Taking a deep breath, Vida walked into the gym and prepared for anything and essentially everything.

Duncan arrived at the gym area with Amanda and Richie in tow.
"What makes you think something might be happening?" Richie proceeded to ask.
"Connor has been mentioning something about a prophecy," Duncan answered, "something that will involve us and other allies."
"Something similar to what Section 7 dealt with in regards to Talpa and Glory?" Amanda asked. The reason the group knew about what happened a few years ago because Shaw Hunter had filled them in the gist of the situation.
"Similar, except it might be bigger than what happened a few years ago," Duncan explained, "and with this threat, it will most likely involve us this time around."
Suddenly, the Highlander was sensing something. Richie and Amanda glanced at him for a moment before they followed his glance, and they turned to see a young woman with a pixie cut with a purple streak.
"Can we help you?" Richie asked.
"I came here looking for answers," the young lady answered, "something told me I would find my answers here. I don't know why though."
Duncan could sense this young lady was immortal. He could tell she was looking for answers because she had recently died and found herself revived. He motioned Richie and Amanda to talk about this new girl.
"This girl's immortal," Duncan told them.
"And quite a looker at that," Richie stated.
"Now's not the time to ask for a date," Amanda chastised him. She figured that it would be a matter of time before Richie asked this girl out on a date since they were both immortal, Duncan suspected this as well. The Highlander believed his lover was right, and they would cross that bridge when they come to it, but for right now, it was a matter of getting this young lady situated, starting with finding out who she was.
"What do you think we should do?" Richie asked.
"Since she is immortal," Duncan answered, "she will need someone to teach her to live by the sword."
"Just like us," Richie nodded, "because she is one of us."
"It sounds like a good idea," Amanda replied, "but who will be her teacher?"
-Highlander-One-Shots-
Vida was a bit nervous as the three new faces were talking among themselves. She wondered what they were talking about. She observed the guy in the ponytail talking with a blonde guy and a woman with a pixie cut.
She took a step back when the three turned around after a mere minute of a conversation.
"I should have introduced myself," Vida apologized, "sorry about that."
"It's okay," the blonde guy nodded with a small smile.
"I am Duncan MacLeod," the man in the ponytail introduced himself first, "of the Clan MacLeod."
"Who are you?" the woman with the pixie cut asked.
"Vida," the former pink ranger proceeded to introduce herself, "Vida Rocca from Briarwood."
"My name is Richie," the blonde guy introduced himself next.
"And my name is Amanda," the woman with the pixie cut introduced herself.
"Am I going crazy here?" Vida asked, "I was killed in the carnival, died that day, but I'm here, alive, and I'm looking for answers."
"No," Duncan answered, "you're not going crazy. It'll be fine."
Vida felt a little unsure, but she was certain that she could find the answers she needed with these three people.
"We're all immortal here as well," Amanda spoke up, "and we could tell you were immortal too."
"Immortal?" Vida glanced up.
"Yes," Duncan stated, "and we thank God that you came to us and found us."
The former pink ranger looked confused for a moment, and Richie walked over to her.
"There's no need to be scared," he assured her.
"I'm not scared," Vida interjected, "I'm just confused."
"What exactly happened on your first death?" Duncan asked.
She sighed, knowing she couldn't lie about what happened, especially when these immortals could be the only people who could help her, "Well, I was with my sister and my friends at a carnival with a little girl, my boss' niece. Our enemy was attacking us, and I was killed during the battle. I tried pretending I was still dead for a little bit until the others left the area. Not sure if that was a smart move on my part, but man, I would need to find answers once they were gone and I left Briarwood."
Vida paused for a moment before continuing, "I didn't want to do that to the others, but I felt playing dead was the only option as I knew I was revived somehow. It was a strange feeling, but if the others knew, it'd be crazy."
The former pink ranger sighed as she looked at Richie, Duncan and Amanda. They seemed to be convinced by her story.
"You see," Duncan proceeded to explain, "it's only when we die that we become immortal. From the moment you found that you died, you began searching for someone who can help you."
"I don't think I've heard of you before," Vida stated, "and you make it sound as if we're linked or something."
"We are," Amanda assured her, "We are linked and locked for all time."
Vida remained silent, not knowing what she could say at that moment.
"You need to believe it, Vida," Duncan told her, "your life depends on it."
"My life depends on it?" the former pink ranger asked, confused.
"You might want to trust him when he says that," Richie quipped.
"Noted," Vida nodded. She could recall that there were risks when she was a Power Ranger, so she assumed there were risks with her being an Immortal, a Power Ranger turned immortal at that, "So, there is a way someone can die when they're immortal, right?"
Duncan nodded, "Your head can be severed from your body."
Vida calmly nodded, wondering what would be the next steps with what happens with her, "So what happens now?"
"The Gathering is here," Duncan answered, "you will be challenged by Immortals with centuries of experience, men and women who live and die by the sword."
"Like us," Amanda added, "Perhaps I could teach you how to kill them before they kill you."
"That sounds like a plan," Vida nodded, "whatever it takes."
