(AN: this chapter I'm rating as R/NC-17 as there is some steamy stuff at the beginning of the chapter.)

"I'm sorry, W- What did you just say? Tonks asked, trying to clarify.

"I said. Marry Me." Remus reiterated his prior statement.

Tonks stared at him in confusion.

"What? That's not-even, what?" She stumbled over her words.

"I'm sorry. I never thought I'd do this. I never really thought about what it would look like, I'm sorry you deserve a better proposal" Remus explained.

"That's not it. The way you asked isn't the problem. You had said in the past that marriage wasn't ever something you'd be okay with.

I didn't think that would change. I never allowed myself to even consider the possibility." She explained.

Remus understood. He had shocked her. She looked like she was going to cry. He felt awful. He had changed his mind about a lot in the past few days, she didn't have time to catch up.

"I'm sorry. If you want, we can just pretend this didn't happen." He said sadly.

"Id understand if you didn't want to. It's just all the reasons I had before don't really seem as important now. I don't want to be afraid to live, and I love you." He continued.

She looked at him for a few seconds and slightly panicked when he went to stand up. She lunged and grabbed his hand.

"Don't go." She protested.

"Yes." She said.

Now, it was his turn to be surprised.

"W-what?" He said, worried he had imagined or misunderstood what she'd said.

"I'll marry you." She told him.

"Really?" He asked in disbelief.

"Yeah." she said, hoping off the bed quickly to embrace him.

She kissed him, and he returned the kiss so enthusiastically that he lifted her off her feet.

Tonks chuckled in glee.

"I love you." He told her, as they kissed.

She replied, "Oh, I love you too."

"Your sure about all of this?" She asked.

"For you? Yeah I'm sure." He told her.

She nodded, love drunk.

"How do you feel about that raincheck, now?" She whispered to him. Hoping he'd say yes.

He caressed her back softly, feeling her skin through the her shirt. " yeah, I think that'd be OK." He kissed her head.

He jokingly looked out the window and pointed to the darkening sky outside the curtains. "It's not like I can really go out after dark now anyway." He joked.

"Well, I can show you something we can do every night after dark, if you want." Tonks told him seductively.

He chuckled, as Tonks slipped back onto the bed pulling him with her.

they kissed softly, laying next to each other, running their hands up and down each other's bodies.

Tonks was wearing a white button down shirt lazily draped over her, with satin black shorts.

She knew it was slightly vain to care but she suddenly was feeling self conscious of everything from her clothes to the stubble on her legs.

"Wait." She said. Hopping off the bed.

"I'll be right back. Stay here." She kissed him before retreating.

She accidentally bumped into the door on her way out of the room. Causing them both to chuckle

He waited for her, wondering what she was doing.

She quickly rushed to her laundry room

Remus could hear her feet squeaking on the floor as she went into the other room

With her wand, she quickly rid herself of any unwanted hair, and changed into a more alluring pair of knickers.

She discarded her shorts, just keeping her oversized shirt and knickers on.

On her way back to the bedroom she took a contraceptive potion. She didn't want to forget later.

Remus was sitting waiting for her on the edge of the bed. he looked up when she came back through the doorway.

He looked vaguely surprised to see her in less clothes than before, but he pulled her onto his lap when she made her way back over.

"Where'd you run off to?" Remus whispered, chuckling.

"Had to take a contraceptive potion." She explained.

He nodded, understanding. "Thank you. That's important."

They then kissed, picking up where they had left off.

They disrobed each other, Enjoying each other as they went.

Remus moved Tonks off his lap, laying her down next to him on the bed.

Remus finally slipped off her knickers, along with his own underwear.

Leaning down, he started softly licking the folds between her legs.

Tonks moaned loudly as he continued.

He clearly was trying to make up for his absence over the last 12 months.

Tonks moaned loudly, feeling her inside tightening and quivering around the two fingers he kept softly slipping in and out of her.

Tonks gasped and pulled on his hair as he continued, he was giving her the best head of her life.

She cried out loudly as he kept softly licking her as she climaxed.

Kneeling up, Remus pulled Tonks back up onto his lap. her legs rested on the very edge of his thighs, positioning her perfectly on top of him.

Tonks moved slowly and gently down, taking Remus' prominent tip into her. She gasp, holding onto him for support.

She slowly worked his whole length into her.

He started to move against her once she had acclimated to his size.

They both groaned as they enjoyed each other.

Soon, Tonks could feel she was going to climax again.

"Ohhh." She moaned. "This feels amazing". She continued.

Remus watched in the mirror as his length slipped in and out of Tonks. He spread her bum to get a better view of her.

he groaned, it was an intoxicating sight. He was love drunk, and totally high off the sight and sensations of her.

"Ohhh, I'm going to-Ahh." Tonks moaned almost incoherently.

She clung to Remus as her insides spasmed and pulsed around him. Remus stroked her back as she screamed through her intense orgasm. The intensity of it caused her to involuntarily drench Remus and the bed in clear fluid.

He could feel fluid running down his legs, as she trembled, calming down from her orgasm.

Remus pumped into her a few more times, before spilling into her.

For a few minutes they just lay next to each other spent and exhausted. Eventually, their breathing slowed, and their attention went back to each other.

Remus looked over at her and smiled. "You're gonna be my wife." he said.

"Yeah, I am" she smiled, kissing him.

Tonks and Remus spent the rest of the night in bed enjoying each other.

They likely would of continued in the morning, but when Remus woke up, he found Tonks sick, curled up in a chair.

"My arm." She said, her skin had a sickly green hue to it.

"So much for going back to work today." She grumbled.

"Don't worry, I'll help you." He told her.

After that, Remus spent most of the morning attending to Tonks arm.

"You know your good at this. Taking care of people." Tonks told him at one point.

Remus smiled at her. "Thank you. Anytime" he told her.

Eventually, he ran a bath for her, so she could relax. her arm clearly hurt her.

She sighed once she was in the warm water.

"I put some herbs in it that should help your arm." He explained, sitting on the velvet stool she had in her bathroom.

She nodded.

Remus looked at his watch. it was almost ten and they hadn't eaten yet.

"I'm going to go make us something to eat." He told her, leaving her in the bathroom.

After a few minutes, Remus had almost completed the eggs and toast breakfast he'd made for him and Tonks, when her little orange cat came into the kitchen.

"Hello." He said.

The cat merely glowered at him.

Remus gave the little creature his space as he readied the breakfast on a tray.

Remus brought the breakfast out into the living room, setting it down on the coffee table, before he went to go check in on Tonks in the bath.

"Hey, how do you feel?" He asked.

"My arm is feeling much better. Thank you sweetheart." She said.

He kissed her on the head.

Suddenly, they both heard a faint knocking. Tonks sat upright and Remus turned towards the noise.

It was coming from the front door.

Tonks gasped. "What day is it? It's Tuesday, isn't it?" She panicked.

Yes? Why?

Tonks jumped up out of the bath.

"Yeah, that's my dad. We have breakfast on Tuesdays before I go to work." Tonks said, trying to dry off.

"Go answer the door, I'll be there in a second." She told him.

Remus was slightly taken aback at this statement.

"A-are you sure? He asked.

"My dad knows about you; I've talked to him about you before. We were going to tell them about us getting married anyway," she said as she tried to dry off enough to get dressed.

Remus had no idea what She had told her father about him, but he hoped it was good.

She gave him a leering look.

"I know, I'm hurrying." Tonks told him.

Remus quickly went to open the door.

Remus knew he'd have to meet Tonk's parents eventually, but he wasn't sure he was quite ready at that exact moment.

Remus steadied himself before opening the door.

He cleared his throat.

"Hi, Ted." Remus said kindly.

The older man was surprised to see him.

"Dora's in the bathroom, did you want to come in?" He asked him

"Ah-yeah sure." Ted agreed, walking into the flat.

"I'm Remus." He held out his hand.

Ted took it, shaking it kindly. "I assumed." Ted explained nicely.

"We were just about to have breakfast ourselves, would you like to join us?" Remus asked.

"Sure, love to." Ted said.

Remus sighed a small sigh of relief at Teds reaction. perhaps this wouldn't be as difficult as he'd worried.

Just then, Tonks emerged from the bedroom dressed with her Lilac hair in a loose messy style.

"Dad. Hey." She greeted. hugging him. Tightly.

"I've missed you. Sweetie." Her dad said, hugging her back.

"Come sit." Tonks told him.

Her father sat on the opposite side of the coffee table.

Next to her Remus had a thousand thoughts going through his mind. He couldn't help but wonder how her father would take the news about their pending marriage. He just learned that they were back together by surprise.

For some reason Remus really started to fear that Perhaps he should've asked her father permission before asking for her hand in marriage. Granted it's not like they were kids. They were both full grown adults. He wasn't really sure what the proper etiquette was here though.

He felt relief when Ted brought up the subject.

"I didn't realize you two had gotten back together?" Ted asked kindly.

"Well, It was a fairly recent change." Tonks explained.

Remus was worried. Perhaps her father wouldn't approve of them getting back together so quickly. Perhaps he wouldn't approve of his daughter marrying a werewolf.

He still wasn't completely sure if Ted even knew he was a werewolf.

But as breakfast continued, it went all right. No mention of the marriage or them really came up at all. Which in someways Remus was grateful for. He was able to get to know Ted, and he could let Ted get to know him without any pressure.

"Are you guys planning on going to the funeral tomorrow?" Ted asked, walking back from the kitchen, with some fresh tea and coffee.

"Oh dad, I could of done that." Tonks scolded him as she saw him carrying the tray.

"Your arm is injured." He scolded her back.

Tonks sat down, deciding not to protest.

"To answer your question, yes we plan to go tomorrow." Remus clarified.

"We plan to attend as well." Ted explained sadly.

"So we will see you both there." Ted clarified.

Tonks and Remus nodded.

" such sad business." Ted said.

" indeed it is." Remus added.

"Well, that's sorta part of why we made the decision we did recently." Tonks begin explaining, and from the moment her mouth opened. Remus knew that she was about to tell him.

"Mmm." Her father murmured curiously, as he sipped his coffee, looking at both of them in turn.

Ted was intrigued. He vaguely wondered if she meant their recent reconciliation, but had a feeling this was more than that.

"We're going to go on a short trip together after the funeral. In the Highlands. Neither of us have ever been to see the Lochs and now seems like a good time to get away, with everything that's been going on."

"Oh, that's lovely!" Ted said, clearly surprised.

"And." Tonks added.

Remus found himself holding his breath.

"We want to get married while we're there." She told him plainly, putting her hand on top of Remus'.

Her father swallowed his coffee, hard.

He looked at their joined hands briefly before responding.

"Ohhh, w-wow. Oh wow." He said, putting his coffee down on the table shakily. Wiping his palms nervously on his pants.

He didn't say anything for a few seconds he just seemed surprised.

" you both want that?" He asked.

"Yes." Remus said, while Tonks nodded.

"Well. Um." Her father tried to get out what he wanted to say.

Remus held his breath involuntarily again.

"Well, then I think that. The Highlands would be a really beautiful place to get married in July."

"Thank you." Tonks said, bringing her hands to her mouth. She rushed over and hugged her dad.

"No problem kid. I just want you to be happy." Ted, said, wiping away a tear running down his face.

Remus was surprised but he hugged him too. He simultaneously thought that there was no way he knew he was a werewolf. There was no way he could be able to have this reaction if he knew.

"Do you want us to go with you?" Her father asked.

"Oh we'd love that but, we've decided to keep it as quiet as we can with the state of things. The less the death eaters find out the better." She explained.

That was true, they had decided that would be safest. They couldn't prevent the ministry and by extension the death eaters from ever finding out, but if they could at least delay that, that would be best.

Ted nodded, understanding. hugging his daughter one more time.

Later on, Tonks and Remus were chatting as Ted got ready to leave.

"Oh, your mother wants her Bundt pan back by the way. She told me to tell you." Ted mentioned, right as they were seeing him out.

Tonks gasped and went into the kitchen to grab the pan.

And when she was out of sight, Ted turned to Remus.

Remus held his breath again. He should of kown this wouldn't go so easily.

"I hope you know. I have to ask. I don't know a lot about your condition., and I wouldn't want to assume." He said delicately.

Remus' insides turned slightly. He did know.

Remus immediately feared that Ted's calm and cool reaction before had been a show for his daughter.

But then, Ted spoke.

" Is-is my daughter safe with you?" He asked.

Remus exhaled a huge sigh of relief.

He nodded. "Yes. I make sure of that. That's the most important thing to me. Always."

He nodded.

"I was very young when i received my bite. This wasn't something I ever wanted, but I manage my condition usually fairly well."

"I'm sorry to have to ask about it. I'm sure you don't like talking about it." Ted said.

In the kitchen, Remus could hear Tonks banging into things looking for the Bundt pan.

"I understand why you need to. It's okay."

"And, you'll be okay, even with all the harsher laws they are passing?" Ted asked.

"I'll manage," Remus said.

Ted nodded, again.

"Thank you." Ted said. He clearly had appreciated Remus's candor.

"And don't worry. I'm going to tell my wife about the wedding before the funeral tomorrow. I hate to say it but she might not take this as well as me. Old family prejudices die hard." Ted explained sadly.

"I hope that one day she'll be able to accept me. And our marriage." Remus explained.

"She will be. Just maybe not the first day."

Remus nodded. This was probably the best he could have hoped for. At least one of her parents approved.

Just then Tonks came back into the front hall.

"Dad. I can't find it. I'm pretty sure i already gave that pan back to mom." She explained, confused.

"Huh. How bizarre." Ted shrugged, feigning confusion.

"I could have sworn she didn't have it. I could be wrong." He chuckled. hugging his daughter goodbye.

He even patted Remus on the arm jovially.

He congratulated both of them one more time before departing.

Leaving Remus and Tonks alone in their front hall.

"Well, we told my parents." She said. "It went fairly well I think." She added.

Remus agreed.

"Now, we just have to tell my dad." Remus said.

Tonks nodded. "That should be easy. I think that's a job for another day." She said, smiling.

"Because now. I want you to take me back into the bedroom for the rest of the day." She said, closing the distance between them.

Remus chuckled a little before swiftly picking her up, carrying her back to their now shared bedroom.

They spent the rest of the afternoon intoxicated with one another. Perhaps they'd go visit his father another day.
