Stargate Atlantis Trading Grounds I: The Return To La Rochelle
Warnings: This story is going to match the dialog, in the flashback memories, of chapter 4, of the past meets the present series. As it also follows the complete mental breakdowns, of the human half of the team. And Robert Makepeace and Adam Johnson, so the story is going to follow the dialog to the letter exactly. Along with some new dialog that was not in the fast forwarded portion in the flashbacks.
With this chapter now is that they are preparing to settle into their lives on the Enterprise, but from here on in, in to the rest of the story. As there is going to be a severe amount of Carter, Frasier and O'neill bashing, for the rest of the series. As what if there was more to the events of the second season, Hathor and Omac. Then we ever knew, and this story gives the pretense to it, followed by a rigging the proceedings.
Basing this in real time, rather then the show, of 25 years ago, Antarctica was a neutral zone for research so military research was not allowed out there. And with it, as the chair is considered military technology, it was meant to be last resort. In case of another orbital attack, so the outpost is now trade and exploration. So with this chapter, is the colony/crew is now getting used to being a slightly underwater crew.
As he's getting to work in trading to bring in more improvement for the planet at large now, so a military attack. Just to bring him back to the states, is attempted, is an international. In incidents and enough to get them convicted for kidnapping now, with his clearances. So from here, is he's dropping in on Ry'ac and Drey'auc and before the press conference. And just before his first stop in planets is to Gaea, home of the Nox.
This chapter will finish off this portion of the story-line, as the next two chapters and forward, cover chapter 2, going by the name. And of The Glory Of Tantulus, which covers things, from his going to the races and Tok'ra creation of the treaty. And his return to Shyla, before the following Chapters cover the the breakdowns of the trio and Carter, who's lost her ability to function mentally, out of desperation now.
As the mission was sanctioned, and he was transferred to Landry and the Atlantis team at the time. As Rodney McKay, Cam Mitchell, Vala Mal Doran, Hank Landry, Frank Simmons, Steven Caldwell, John Shepard. And Elizabeth Weir enter the picture here, the story will have Daniel and Teal'C joining their team. As the SGA is founded 5 years early, and moved into the outpost on earth….
Disclaimers: I don't own the shows, the story belongs to everything else belongs to the creators and the movie companies.
Chapter 32: The Mission Begins And Permanent Farewells II
"He's under orders here, you're breaking ranks, young lady." Matheson said and they heard a warning tone enter his voice to her then at that. "Why exactly, well really Captain, do you need information on everything, I'm working the psychiatric department. One, and 2) and more importantly now, do they have to give a reason for anything. I mean anything that they do right now, and get it approved by you, Captain, huh, that it."
"Is that it, that what you're thinking here, when you're a mere captain, you think you're so special. That you, or your precious Colonel O'neill deserved to be told what their true intentions on a meet and greet are here right now?" he said and he nodded then. "No kidding, her precious Colonel O'neill, yeah she converted, tell your beloved Colonel O'neill and stay the hell out of our territory." Shepard said sternly to this and Landry nodded.
"Indeed, the SGC once reactivated, are staying out of our territory, or the penalty will not going down well right now, we got enough power. Just to get out of this in one piece, without drastic actions, like beaming in the back up." Picard said and he nodded. "Yeah once you play back the visual memory for us, we're seeing them both go white. Realizing they can't dispute orders without getting court martialed." Hammond said and Rosen nodded then.
"And you're right, the Tok'ra point of view is beyond biased, we need intel based on a human point of view, of the technology, not using the damn thing directly. We can synthesize it's healing properties, to create drugs, as we see what their drugs did for you. It pans out, with Pyrus, we do his entire kingdom as France is one of the healthiest countries. So good food, great health benefits, all it costs is farming supplies, gold and silver." Addison said sternly to this.
"Well news flash, Captain, it's not like they need your approval for everything they do here right now, where the program is concerned. You a Captain, them a 2 to 5 star general, they demanded a research battery, and with them the president. I'm simply following orders here, given to me by my uncles and our commander in chief's orders. But that research study was ordered by the entire joint chiefs and the president."
"And with them, the very men your commander is afraid of, who just arrested him, during her." he said, seeing she went white at the threat, knowing as a captain, as they out ranked her by 5 to 9 ranks. "If that's not a warning of don't go there and even attempt to, you're being court martialed. And nothing ever is, but we say, she does, end of story, but if that's not arrogant in her case here and nothing ever is." Pulaski said and Addison nodded.
And in stern agreement then at her arrogance, she couldn't question this now, without being arrested for why it happened. "But I can't get Shyla to trust me if I don't show I can't trust her, she's helping me with the research. And it's working so far at the moment here now." he said and she sighed as she answered that. "Oh it's Shyla now, first name basis, Shyla." Jack said and she sighed at that reaction as she looked at him in annoyance.
"Colonel, I suggest you just shut up right now, she's my betrothal contract, I created it with her, to prevent what you did, during her." he said sternly and Jack started shaking in fear. "Yeah I'd have a panic attack too if I were you, are you really choosing now to insult royalty, and not just any royal, the future wife of the next king of La Rochelle." Cam said sternly, in shocked disgust, as even seeing the guard standing there, he's getting insubordinate.
"But you really thinking I would never figure it out, what you intended to do, throw me up in your place, to be free of Claude and Porthos?" he asked and he paled at that. "I assume that look on his face, as you made clear, you know I find out and he's a dead man. You could resist where he can't their charms where they can't and your body was still healing. But the psyche testing was better then even you considered right now Danny at the moment."
"You're my kid brother, and I decided to get you away from them, but you're safe now, but these bastards are like the Socs." Cromwell said and he nodded. "I'm not imagining this, I read your notebooks."he said to them sternly then. "And that's enough to have them completely freak out, as they had to turn it around fast. And you gave the knee jerk reaction, as she came to me now, before you passed out." Hammond said to that sternly.
"But I've used it before without side effects, and look no glasses." he said and she said it, her tone concerned. "That looks like a side effect to me." she said and they heard an ignorant tone from Jack. "Daniel get us out of here." he said and listening to the fast remark as Cromwell heard it carefully as he realized it. "Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm working on it, I just need a little more time right now." he said and she nodded sternly.
"The president authorized trade right now, but you screwed up your chances for royal hospitality here, but let me be frank right now." he said and he started shaking in fear. "Nice emphasis on my name, and he starts shaking in fear, as he knows he just got caught, this was his record down to the limit, and we have him now. Did Hammond explained everything to Danny." Cromwell said sternly to that and Haden smiled at that remark sternly to then news.
"Pyrus just happens to be the king, the quartet all talk about it, King Pyrus Beaumont, his daughter Shyla, is my Shyla, my betrothal contract here. And quite frankly, knowing certain truths, I decided to leave the search alone. But I been comming the SGC every 24 hours, knowing here the president wants the trade deal. I mean if just the serum and elixir can make an impact, what else is there is healing drugs now."
"Oh I sent General Hammond another message, hopefully he won't order an all out attack." he said as he went further at that remark as the entire group nodded firmly to that. "Look if we do this right, we'll have access to all the naquada and the sarcophagus." they heard as they heard the emphasis on the word sarcophagus. "The Naquada no, but that thing forget it, we're not bringing it to earth." Cromwell said and Carson nodded sternly then.
"What we need is the research, hence, 'I took the opportunity to do a little research on the sarcophagus.'. not paying attention to that young lady, huh. As he made it emphasized, he had orders not to rock the boat, keep his head down, till the quintet walk in. And now things change course here right now, some friend you are, not to see what he was really saying." Cromwell said and Carson nodded sternly, as he listened to this carefully, as he crossed his arms.
"How many times have you used it?" she asked him and he sighed as he repeated it then say it. "I don't know, 9 or 10." he said and Anna covered her eyes as she sighed as Hancock said it for her. "Oh god, that's 3.5, times 3 that's why you're looking like this right now, you're running on fumes and you need back up, but can't call in anyone. Or that could get the others arrested and subjected to what they're doing to you." Weir said in shock to that news then.
"Oh Sam, everything is so clear, I feel like I could do anything." he heard and sighed and nodded as he read through the subtext. "That's the reverse, you're so exhausted, you're likely to fall asleep on your feet now. The alnighter from hell, you just put in three weeks of over time here, but it's going to take weeks to recover. And from whatever else was going on, on this planet and both physically and emotionally now right at the moment here, but whatever here."
"Now, that he says next, that seals his fate in being deactivated till 451." Boyd said gently, to this now then. "One thing, you only have to do one thing, and if you can't handle it. Then we're going to break out of here without you!" he snapped at him coldly. "You're done, young man." Landry said sternly, seeing Jack went pale at that. "She wants me to marry her." they heard Daniel say and they sighed at that remark and news then gently.
As they heard the accepted tone. 'First I have to get Sha're back, get the little parasite out of her, and then put her and the baby into hiding.' Daniel said with a sigh of acceptance gently, know he decided to get married a second time. "What?!" they heard from Jack as he started to say it as she looked at Jack. "Alright look..." Jack started to say to him at that news then and they saw Daniel's eyes narrow in anger as he snapped at him then firmly.
And as they heard the hate in his tone and knowing Jack paled, knowing he was screwed now with Hammond then. "No you look Jack, alright that's enough of this, you know I am so sick and tired, of you deciding what's safe and what's not. That what the hell hero, what the hell, you think you're so special, I should ignore my own recovery. Not going to happen, and now I have to fix what you nearly screwed up, that trade deal here."
"And it's enough to bail the entire military out of the red line 9,000x's, now shut up and listen up, I've got everything under control. God man, you never show me any respect, now I'm handling it, all you have to do is hang in there." he snapped at him angrily. "Okay that's a good point there right now keep going here, what else exactly now, so I know why she hacked the computer later on." Simmons asked him and he nodded sternly.
"Jack, we should go back to the planet and free those people." he said and they heard a snooty tone to Jack's voice. "I'm not sure it's any of our business, frankly." he said to him, and they paled, as it was interfere when it suits them. But when people really needed it, they stood aside. "Yeah just like an NID agent, you interfere when it suits you, but when people really need your help, you stand aside." Landry said sternly, knowing he'd started shaking in fear then.
"I concur: Who are we to judge how someone on another planet lives?" Hammond said to him, quoting his double and they started shaking in fear, realizing how bad this looked now for them. "But the people are in those machines under false pretenses: The Keeper is lying to them about what's outside." he said and Janet also paled, as she added in her own two cents, and then realized she sounded like them, in cruel detachment of their acquaintances.
"Yeah we just leave her like that, then when the recall slams back into place, she hears the she sounds, through your ears, cold and cruel, you prefer us." Adam said sternly to that gently. "Okay, if, if I may weigh in here…all evidence points to the fact that the machines are clinically sustaining those people. Removing them could be like taking a patient off life support when he still needs it." she said and Hammond said it gently as he leaned forward.
"Here it comes, this was why you said that on the recording, orders never make sense here. And they're convinced we're not ourselves, yeah okay baby, point taken." Henderson said and he nodded, "Sounds to me like we have to get more information to make this decision, folks." Davis said and Teal'C answered that bemused then. "The only way to gain more information would be to venture back into the artificial world."
"Of P7J-989." he said and Davis nodded. "This is not going down well right now, issues in the rabbit hole." Heather said and Saxon nodded. "Or getting trapped in there, said your own nightmares." he said and she nodded. "Yeah no kidding right now, even that is enough of practical joke, after the system went haywire. And it took my working over time to get my parents out of there." Wes said to that and Picard, Beverly and Data nodded gently.
And in agreement to that opinion. "That's actually what this is, they been on life support so long, someone had to come there eventually. To get them out of coma, said someone turned out to be me. And my saying this, resulted in an Exodus that had him freaking out, so though I did a good deed, had a flashback. Shyla was two weeks later, the anniversary of my parents accident." he said and they nodded in understanding.
"Followed by said cave in, scaring us out of our wits." Plummer said to him then. "Then that's exactly what I want you to do." Davis said gently and Jack watched himself lean forward. "Get ready, the smart ass complex just shot forward now and dad never takes insubordination well if there's a case of unsuspecting questioning of his orders. Even if they never make sense, we're trapped in there already and one of the others now."
"Are trying to get us to distract him, so they can go free here." Daniel explained and they all nodded, bemused. "By showing them the way out of the bloody chairs, you showed them the way out of said chairs, and conservatory and they followed you out, okay that works." Plummer said with a bemused smile, and Hammond chuckled at Daniel's creativity, to come up with a way out. One that didn't involve violence, again, then in their eyes.
"Uhhhh…General. Without meaning, this time, to sound like a smart-ass, are you cracked?" he asked and he hid a chuckle. "Not funny young Colonel O'neill with this technology, we can use this, to train with right now, without the job turning lethal. As, if they had this on Starship Troopers, Breckimridge would still be alive right now. Instead of live ammo, it's still the capture the flag capsules." Simmons said sternly and Landry nodded in agreement thrn
"Folks, I don't need to tell you how valuable a resource this planet could be for us. Their technology is far beyond our own: the kind of technology that justifies this entire program." he said and Colin nodded in agreement. "Yeah like creating holodecks for training." he said and Sam went white in shock, that she never thought of that. "General Hammond, going back into that world could be very hazardous." she said to him then.
"I fail to see how. It's an artificial environment. Can you actually die in there?" he asked and she started getting tense. "Not unless the damn system broke down." Picard said in response sternly, as they heard her remark. "We don't know." she said and Jack quickly said it. "I'm a little more concerned about being trapped there, Sir." he said, his voice slowly raising and he said it gently then. "You got out the last time." he said to him gently then
"There is no guarantee we will be able to extract ourselves again." Teal'C said to him then and he nodded. "Okay, I'll tell you what: if you don't come out in one week, I'll send in SG-2 to pull you out." he said to him and then went further to this then. "Besides, what's so bad about being in there? It sounds to me like you can experience. All sorts of fascinating things.." he said and Jack nodded sarcastically to him as he said it then.
"You mean, like watching old friends and…" he said and Daniel stepped in."Parents." he sakd and Jack finished it. "Family getting killed over and over again?" he said and Hammond jumped that gently. "Alternate realities, Charlie was dead in two realities, we get one last mission together this year. I'm taking that offer. That I can resurrect Charlie on the holodeck, play back the Abydos mission, old memories, better."
"Then the last 2.5 years again now, without the vocal and physical abuse, as you never needed the drugs, I was on a cocktail meant to control the symptoms, of having her here." he said and they nodded in understanding then. "We really don't blame you for that, but O'neill there clearly never expected your inner werewolf. To beat the crap out of 3 people, you been abused enough already, but you had your last 9 good years.
"Under me and the Professor now, but you got me again." Henderson said to that gently. "And with you around, my inner wolf went cub again, so in this case, is fresh start and I'm with papa bear in between missions. Although I'll just try not to get smart with you, in my case that never changed, in these sessions, never go with the P.C. answer. Or he's going to let you have it, trust me." he said and Lou and Dixon nodded then.
"Want for better word here, when your psychiatrist, who hasn't seen you since you were a teenagers, gets you back, it's like don't try in lying to him. Or you're going to get it, and this is what Rosen would be like with the Professor, at our current age. Maybe a young adult, but to the doctor still his little boy." Carson said with a chuckle to that and Haden smiled gently. "Yep, that's the good thing about being here, cub recovers and starts acting like a cub again now."
"Finally with his enjoyment of the job." Landry said with a chuckle and Barnes tried to keep from laughing at that remark, as they tried to hide a smile. "Or seeing Major Kawalsky alive and well? Who knows, Colonel, maybe you could even see your son. Dr. Jackson, perhaps you could visit the ancient worlds you've always wondered about." he said and Daniel nodded, just gapes at him, disbelievingly. "Well that helps." Fletcher said to that remark gently,
"And there's a clue, by converting the chairs into a holodeck, I time travel to another generation, century, time frame. Enjoy my job again, and he sensed this, reading my mind, since he knew that this loser crossed the line, before Cassandra." he said to this and they nodded gently at that remark. "Yeah no kidding, you missed Charlie more then you were willing to admit, him and Dave Brown." Lou said and he nodded and Landry nodded.
"You can go anywhere your memories or imaginations want to go." he said and the four of them exchange looks, before Jack looks at him. "Okay. That's enough." he said and stood up as he rises from his chair and goes over to the Hammond and bends over him. He gently pulls the General's ear forward to peer behind it. "Let's just have a little look here, shall we?" he said and Hammond said it. "What are you doing, Colonel?" he said to him then
"Oh, I'm looking for the edges of a mask!" he said to him then. "What?" he said to him then. "You're obviously not the real General Hammond." he said and he said it sternly. "Sit down, Colonel!" he said to him and he said it firmly. "I don't think so, bucko. The jig's up. We're on to ya." He said and Hammond said it. "What are you talking about?" he said to him then. "We're still on P7J-989." she said to Jack and he nodded gently to her.
"Oh, you betcha. This is just a new game brought to you by our good friend…" he said as he pats him on the head. "…The Keeper." he said and the keeper stood, still pretending to be Hammond then. "You are way out of line, Colonel!" he said and Frasier also stood up then. "You could be having a nervous reaction to the machines, we should get back to the infirmary and run some tests." she said and he snapped at her in response then.
"That's either the pheromone, or just the elixir talking, and he knows he's screwed here right now, if we find out what he's planning for Danny." Sanderson said and they nodded. "No, you should get us out of these damn machines is what you should do!" he snapped at her, and a holodeck SF approaches O'Neill from behind, locking and loading his weapon. " I don't blame him for that, he lost it." Riker said and Picard nodded sternly. Teal'C stands up in alarm.
Turns to the SF and challenges him then. "Oh, what!" he said and Wesley nodded. "Yeah he went off the deep end alright, Barclay, you over did it in the holodeck." Riker said and Picard nodded in agreement. "Colonel, your insubordination is testing my patience, I will give you one final chance. To follow my orders and rejoin the residents of the artificial world." Hammond said to him sternly then. "Watch it young man." Sanderson said to this then.
"'Residents.'" she repeated firmly and then said it. "That's what the Keeper called them." Sam said and she and Daniel stand up, as Landry smiled, knowing this was a trap, in Daniel's eyes. "Are you going back in or not, Colonel?" he said with a firm warning tone then. "I'm already in!" he snapped at him and that did it then. "Yeah there it is, and there's why you never push the issue here, when your boss is a two either version." Landry said sternly to this.
"Place SG-1 under arrest and put them in isolation where they can speak to no one!" he called out and SG-1 are handcuffed and are escorted out of the Briefing Room as Hammond and Fraiser look on. and they nodded sternly to that response then. "You want the rest of this, before you have it jump out at you, as you did this in reverse. As the plants are the Bendii syndrome to you?" he asked and they nodded sternly to suggestion as he furthered it then.
"Remember this?" he asked and turned on the exchange during the briefing again. "Dr. McKenzie." he said and he said it sternly. "And like Adam and Jake, I can rephrase this the same way, and it's reversed, if your situations were reversed. If it was them, instead of you and where here, that the remark of, if you say you never thought. And our remark was you didn't think here, this wasn't important enough to tell me first?!" Henderson said and Janet paled.
"Colonel." Mckenzie said, and Barnes crossed his arms then, knowing Jack paled, realizing this was the next attempt then, as they got caught red handed. "Looks like he forgot Adam's research, Adam did the same research, it's battle fatigue." Haden said and he nodded. "I'm not going to enjoy this, am I?" he said and Hammond crossed his arms sternly at that remark. "Part of Dr. MacKenzie's work involves analyzing psychological data from SG units."
"Specifically looking for common side affects to Gate travel, Dr. Jackson's episode yesterday may have uncovered a serious one." he said and Adam nodded sternly, and Jack paled, realizing that was aimed at them, for walking into a contaminated area, again. "Dr. Fraiser's been treating you for headaches lately, hasn't she?" he asked and Jack looked at Janet, who looked away uncomfortably then, and Janet went pale, realizing, now.
The validity of Daniel's question a few minutes earlier, she never acted like their parents, but relied on bloodtests, and Daniel was sick of it. "Yes. What's that got to do with Daniel?" he asked and he explained that. "Well you're not the only one. Fifty-three percent of SG field personnel also have a history of them." he said to him then. "A lot of people get headaches. What's your point?" he asked him and Henderson crossed his arms then.
"Dr. Jackson has experienced what I characterize as a first break psychotic episode. Which may be manifesting full-blown hebephrenic-schizophrenia." he said then and Barnes crossed his arms sternly then. "Or it could be battle fatigue, after being up who knows how long, he's seeing the symbiote that Hathor yanked out of that Jaffa." Haden said sternly, knowing the Colonel Psychiatrist, of the next age group down, would have gone white at that.
"Migraines are often one of the first signs." Janet said and he started shaking, realizing this attempt was meant to get them short changed. Only Daniel was faking the psyched out methods, till they had enough on him and Carter to have them shot. "As interesting twist, but thing of it is, that this was artificial, only the Professor is the real deal, Captain." Hancock said sternly and she started shaking in fear, realizing they were screwed now finally.
"Wait a minute: Daniel's a schizophrenic, and it's caused by…, the Stargate?" Jack said and she said it gently then. "It's the only logical explanation we have right now, Colonel." she said and he nodded, as Mckenzie also went pale, realizing they got caught then finally. "Dr. Jackson's dopamine levels have increased in the left hemisphere of his brain. All these symptoms are textbook schizophrenia." he said to him gently at that.
"I don't understand how this could happen without us noticing signs." Sam said and she finished that. "Nobody knows the exact cause of schizophrenia, some cases are genetic, but there's no history of it in Daniel's family. When it's not genetic, could be chemical, screwing with recreational drugs, if not that. It's environmental and the Stargate is a plausible environmental cause." she said to him and Sam said it to that defensively then.
"I've been through the 'Gate as many times as Daniel, and I don't have headaches." she said and she said it firmly to that at that. "Well your body may have some kind of immunity, possibly due to Jolinar." she said and they nodded. "Alien technology, and digging into medical records family past, is forbidden, without the patient's approval. Or just the family psychiatrist, and I never gave any such order to check his files." Carson said to that sternly.
"Alright, let's say for the sake of argument that it is the Stargate, a theory to which I do not ascribe, then why don't we just put a little sign at the base of the ramp. That says 'Gate travel may be hazardous to your health.' I can live with that." Jack said to him and Sam nodded. "So can I, Sir." she said, nodding in agreement and the quartet exchanged stern looks at that, knowing that to keep going they were going to throw Daniel.
"Well that says they're relieved, with you trapped on Earth, they can use you for translations, and find out which planets in the Ancient's database belong to her." Barnes said sternly and Daniel nodded, knowing they decided it's right to the wolves then. Just to keep going and as Teal'C nodded sternly. "Excuse me, but is that the 'to keep going, we're going to abandon a member of our team', tone in your voices?" Hammond asked and they paled at that.
"The Air Force can't, I can't risk any SG officer having delusions in the middle of a crisis. Therefore, as we speak, all outstanding SG teams are being recalled for evaluation." he said to that sternly. "You're shutting down the whole program?!" she said, never thinking after Shyla, their mistreatment could result in a fast shut down. "Oh you never thought, we'd actually deactivate the program, based on you." Picard said to that look.
"Not him, but you, your attitude, after Shyla, you're convinced he's changed, the technology damaged his mind, oh no, no you're the one that deserves to be deactivated. But what goes around, comes around now, young lady." Haden said sternly and seeing her as she paled in realization at that remark then, as no him, and they're all screwed now. "Only until Dr. MacKenzie and their teams submit their report. If his theory is proven correct."
"Limits will be placed on the number of missions, but until then now, is the Stargate is closed." he said and she started shaking, realizing this once again was the consequence of her decision during Shyla. "General…" Jack started to say and he said it sternly. "There is no debate, Colonel." he said and he said it sighing then. "Of course not." he said and she said it in resignation. "What about Daniel, sir?" she asked and Mckenzie answered that gently.
"For now we're going to medicate him and let him rest in one of the VIP rooms." he said and as Janet said it then. "But if his symptoms persist or he becomes a threat to himself or anyone else…, we'll have to commit him to Mental Health." she said and the doctor nodded. "You never thought we'd have you being the ones committed for that, or stop the program, in outgoing missions, based on you?" Picard said sternly at that remark then.
"Gets better check this out, all future engineering get in here, you need to see this." he said and everyone from the TNG engineering came in then. "So everything pass inspection, since the battle bridge is grounded?" he asked and they all nodded. "Everything is up and working, the failsafe to prevent real weapons from being replicated is also working. So what do you got for us, you wanted us to see right now." O'brien asked and he showed them it then gently.
"Well first is this, Colonel, you have no respect for the work I do." he said and Jack and Makepeace both paled at that. "Why aren't you helping me?" Jack said in annoyance and Daniel said it with a sigh as he set up the camera, and put a notepad on the ground. "It's no use. They don't understand. They want to be with each other." he said to him then. "Well, we're not going to stand around doing nothing." he said in annoyance to that.
"We're not doing nothing." Daniel said and he said it with a challenge to his tone and the real Jack paled, realizing this was going to kill his case. And as he realized his attitude had Daniel so fed up, he was ready to just transfer departments to get away from him now finally. "You're videotaping a plant." he said and the entirety of the science department quoted it. "Well, I think this might be important." they all said together and Jack and Makepeace paled then.
"Well, I think you might be losing what's left of your mind." he said and they all looked at the sextet sternly. "Are you asking for a knuckle sandwich, you are outnumbered 100 to 1, in military sides, Colonel." O'brien said sternly and he swallowed hard at that. "What's that supposed to mean?" he said warningly and he swallowed hard. "It means that on a good day you can be a little flaky." he said and Daniel stood up at that remark sternly at that.
"And on a good day you can be a little ignorant and condescending." he said and then said it. "And downright rude, but then I guess when you're trained to kill, it never pays to be polite." he said sternly and he said it defensively then."Not condescending: You're obviously misreading a basic philosophical difference of opinion. On how to handle a crisis." he said and Landry shook his head sternly as Hammond nodded to that response
"Oh, please! We have a difference of opinion on just about everything." he said and he said it to that. "Give me an example." he said and Daniel said it firmly at that. "I don't know. Pick something: mythology?" he said and the SGA all smiled. "Cool stories, and now that we know they're all true, we get to see them in action now." Chris said smiling and he smiled at her and Landry chuckled as Daniel hugged her tightly as they heard his response.
"Rumors? Lies? Fairytales?" he said and Sarah nodded. "You see: Mythology is one of the primary motivation for cultural development!" he said angrily at that remark then. "Isn't that the truth, without mythology in cosmic times you have no way to protect yourself. Case in point is Hathor, before Teal'C dropped the bomb, the red headed wench is a queen. And she just put these guys under her spell." Parker said sternly and the Baron crossed his arms at that.
"Maybe it is, what's that got to do with filming a plant?!" he snapped back at him then. "Exactly!" he said sternly and then said it firmly. "The radio waves these plants make got into the circuitry causing the UAV to crash, now if you were focusing on why I needed to do this. You would stop being such an ignorant and condescending SOB." he said and Jack swallowed hard at that, realizing he had reasons for everything to cover what he thought was a psychotic break.
"And how do you explain this exactly, because compared to a loser like yourself, we would act on this, why is everyone getting short tempered. Or having headaches, the longer the exposure the worse it gets?" Geordi asked and Daniel nodded. "Of course, the effects of those plants, are like Benii syndrome, headaches, severe irritability. The longer you're exposed to that, the worse it gets, thanks guys, I needed that." he said and Hammond chuckled at his fast realization.
"Just like the virus, it's like the symbiote killers, search out symbiotes till there is nothing left to kill, just like the Lornaks and Tralestas and just our luck, we get caught right in the middle. And it nearly kills you, again by NMS at the moment." Warner said and Sam swallowed hard at that remark, realizing he been using their successors, in the form of Stewart's tv show here now. And to make the connection, as Geordi turned on the memory of the fight in ten forward then.
Watching as he was sitting there talking things over with Guinan, they saw Geordi tap him on the shoulder gently. "Hey Wes, about what happened last night, I'm sorry, I'm not sure what caused that outburst." Geordi said and Wesley nodded as he answered him smiling. "It's okay, Sir, we were both on edge for some reason. But we just had another outburst here this morning at the moment here."
"And this time it did shift to violence, because we had ten outbursts in the side of twelve hours today." he said and Geordi nodded to him at that in agreement. "I heard the same thing commander, but it seems like we had more than one sudden outburst of violence breaking out around here right now. And four of those are in the teenage department as well." Shayla Janson said and he nodded.
"Yeah it's the same for the middle schoolers Commander, we had two fights in the junior high program, and three more in the high school. But two last night, two this morning, and six breaking out in ten hours. That's not normal right now, I mean, when we don't have government officials on board. Things are not quite this tense, but it seems like the tempers are frayed more then normal."
"Though I think the only ones noticing this are in the engineering and science departments. If Counselor Troi has had 10 people telling her this in the side of 48 hours since the ambassador and his entourage arrived on board the ship." Wilcox added and he nodded. "And I'm not surprised you picked up on that yourself Billy, you're just like me regarding this." Wesley said and Geordi nodded.
"Something weird is going on around here, Deanna said she heard the exact same thing from ten different people over the last two days here. Alright I get the feeling it's about to get worse, if it hasn't already by now. Though if I know anything it's that this fact is about to shift from random violence and into a brawl." he said and Wesley nodded, though just as he was answering his remark then.
They heard the next start up and recognized the voice as the transporter chief then as the fight started off gently. "Excuse me, but we were sitting here."they heard and turned to look at the conversation. "Yeah I remember that, and Fieldman was acting like it was first come first served and acting the tough guy with it. We just left the table for five minutes to get something to drink." O'Brien said and Picard and Will nodded to him.
"Well we're sitting here now." They heard from a man in a blue uniform as O'Brien answered him. "Come on fella, this is our table." he said and the man smirked as he answered him and they sighed as he answered that. "Really, funny I don't see your name on it." he said and they watched as Wesley grabbed Geordi at that. "Geordi, it's about to get nasty here, look over there." he said and he turned to look at them.
As they listened to the fight, seeing the escalating tension in his friend then Geordi remembered it firmly as he said it. "Yeah this was just the prelude to the oncoming fight that night, but this is what I meant Beverly. It was barely fifteen minutes later that the fight went from vocal to physical and I got him out of the room just as someone knocked me into the wall." he said to her and they nodded as they watched the debate.
As it shifted from courtesy to possible stand off and a near fist fight. "Oh boy, the chief may look like he's a push over, but he's anything but, after his trying to help Greyson arrest Roga six months ago." Wesley said and Geordi nodded in agreement. And O'Brien hid a smile as he answered that remark with a gentle smile on his face. "Yes and for obvious reasons here, I've had to deal with one fight or another that year, on my own, before we got security in there." he said to him gently to that and he nodded.
As he heard Geordi's recorded response in answer to his statement then. "Yeah but none of us are pushovers, we may may look like we're not up to it, but we're anything but. Though having a soldier like Danar attack us when our backs are turned is not helping their cases right now, in these situations at the current moment." he said and he nodded in agreement as they listened to argument then.
"Yeah well whatever is causing this is getting out of hand right now and it just went from possible standoff to a probable fight." The bartender said to him then. "Didn't your mother ever teach you manners." they heard from O'Brien and the duo both stood up at that as Geordi said it firmly. "That's what I meant when we said that, one minute things were slightly tense and the next it's on the edge of a fist fight."
"As I deflected this, before Marks started another ten minutes later." he said as he heard his recorded image say it then. "Aw crap, not again, here we go again, alright you kids stay over here." he told them and they nodded as he walked over. "Hey, hey, guys, is there some kind of problem here?" he asked with a firm tone and O'Brien answered him without taking his eyes off the man he was arguing with as he said it then.
"Well there seems to be some kind of question to who's table this is." he said and Geordi said it gently. "Well there are plenty of other tables, right?" He said reasonably and the O'Brien sighed and nodded. "Yeah I suppose you're right." he said and they sighed in relief. "Why I don't I get everyone another round of drinks, okay." Geordi told him and he nodded as he patted them both on the shoulder as the group saw Wesley watching the sextet carefully as Geordi walked up to him.
As he looked between him to the bartender at that. "Is it my imagination or are the tempers getting a little frayed around here on the ship lately right now?" he asked in a bemused tone and Geordi and the bartender nodded in agreement to that. "I'm not sure what the hell is going on here, but be ready for anything here." he said and he nodded as, looking at O'Brien, he then turned to the rest of the team.
"Hey guys, group meeting, come on." he said and the sextet walked over. "What's up Wes?" he asked and Wesley explained that. "Whatever caused that fight between me and Geordi last night just hit you and it's turned into a live wire around here. But so far we've had this same problem in either physical violence or people getting testy with each other from ten different people over the last two days." he said and they nodded as they relaxed at that ad O'Brien answered him.
"So where did it start exactly?" he asked and Wesley sighed. "It started with me and Ensign D'Amato, followed by you and Geordi the night before." Worf said as he heard Wesley repeat that remark as he explained that then. "It started with Ensign D'Amato and he got into a vocal altercation with Worf. And Worf put him on report, for insubordination, as a result of the first 10 hours after Sarek arrived."
"Later that night I got the news from Jake that the quintet were going to be at the concert. And immediately following that was Geordi and me and the commander walked in just as the fight turned into yours and nearly resulted in a fist fight. This morning mom and I got into it and it did shift to physical violence, don't ask." He said and she sighed as she answered that remark.
"Yeah and it's because I thought you deliberately skipped out, I didn't realize it was because you were attempting to keep it from happening again. And this time right in front of us at the time." Beverly said and he nodded as he answered her. "Yeah and it's because with they're being inebriated and on drugs, the psychosis was getting worse by the minute around here at the time, but it's the added act of jealousy right now."
"And the syndrome unlocked the door here at the time." he said as his recorded self finished that remark. "But an hour later we had two more adults lose it and another fight turned altercation today as a result. Another an hour later and it did turn into a fight, three teenagers in a flat out fist fight in the classroom. And Hanson and his friends got into it with Jake and a friend of his."
"And I heard that Peterson and Wilcox just ended up in a fight with Davis and Renfro, just before we got in here and yours got started. But that makes 20 and if I've got to guess, than Deanna heard this already. And from ten different people all over the ship of fights breaking out, and it's either physical violence or tempers getting testy with each other at the current moment here."
"I mean normally we do fine when we don't have outside influences getting involved and suddenly we got a string of violent vocal outbursts breaking out. Or someone starting a real physical fight and it's all in the space of four days. But does that seem strange right now, I mean things are fine around here until Sarek arrived last night?" he said and they nodded as they exchanged looks at this.
As MacDougal answered him at that remark with a bemused look on her face."With that, I think it's safe to say that Sarek and his party are the reason for it right now, because the outbursts of violence. And physical or no, started at virtually the same time as when Sarek and his party beamed on board the ship." she said and O'Brien sighed. "You alright now Chief?" Wesley asked and he nodded to him.
"Yeah and I haven't a clue to what caused that in me just now, but this is getting out of hand. But at the moment, and you're right, but this is getting serious right now, I mean 10 fights in the spaces of 2 days, normally we're on good terms with each other. But this time it's the act of outside sources causing tempers to get more frayed then normal around here lately and with that."
"This happens again and someone is going to start something here." he said and Wesley nodded. "Yeah and that's not if the said someone is not just suffering from whatever this..., damn it, alright, alright. Sarek, if he was human, or just a humanoid would be a Betazoid. As they get older they start losing control of their telepathy and empathy, and it starts jumping on to humans at random."
"I don't know the name of that disease, because I never looked it up in biology, but it's the Vulcan version of Addison's disease before we cured that. But if I know anything it's this, that the ones either losing their tempers or are getting violent have too much pressure on their shoulders. Or they are suffering from substance abuse and I think that explains Hanson if he got into it with Jake."
"But in the side of two days we had ten to twenty outbursts of violence or vocal fights. So far we had two last night, three this morning and three more, before it landed in here, this keeps up its turning to a full blown fight or worse. But at this rate, if the effects of whatever's causing this combine with alcohol or worse someone's on drugs and they've had one too many, at the moment."
"And case in point the quintet if they're drunk." he said and they all nodded to that as he finished that. " Jake told me Hanson was taking drugs, and possibly speedballing at the current moment right now Dave, as are Eric Jacobs and Tony Farley." he said and Jenson nodded. "What are they taking if he told you that exactly honey?" Barnfield asked gently and he sighed as he answered her at that.
"Same as our 20th century counterparts and I doubt Lieutenant Walters knows this, right now as well. But if this is what could be considered a total burnout right now, because if they're trying to get noticed by the captain or the commander. They're going about the wrong way to do it, it's not based on muscles or fast thinking, its careful strategy and knowing your opponent."
"You've been telling me that for two years and I'm on the edge of earning my uniform. And it's a result of simply not showing off, careful strategy and thinking your way out of the box. You always told me to look before you leap and so far my ideas have resulted in pulling us out of the fire, one being what started this at the time." he said and Shimoda and MacDougal nodded to that.
"Yes and in your case we've seen that so long, but then we're just like you and with that in mind. It's these kids are pushing so hard they're going to put themselves on medical suspension if this keeps up right now at the moment. Whatever this is, is about to result in, if this continues and we don't figure this out, a riot next, if they lose their tempers." Geordi said to him and he nodded.
"Yeah well at the moment we have six college athletes trying to push the limit no matter how far they can just to get noticed by the captain and Commander. But I'd say this is the say as the psychosis regarding they're not seeing my bonds with you as anything but what they think it is right now. And to them the psychosis is I'm showing off to you to get special treatment at the moment."
"But then I'm not the one taking drugs trying to cross lines in the eyes of a veteran and to him and you. You all know what that truth regarding my parents and the captain is. But remember what you told me before, regarding training, even though you needed back up when we had Roga on board. But you have zero tolerance for showing off, hotdogging, going by our gut instincts."
"Or trying to act like a hero, I took your lessons seriously since the captain activated me, and you know I'd never get involved in a situation like Roga. But these guys are trying to push the limits, trying to get passed a bunch of asteroids. Playing chicken with the Cardassians or some other fool hardy maneuver, you try that and your luck is going to run out sooner or later."
"But how many times have you guys said it exactly, how many times, there's more to the job then using your muscles. You have to use the other five subjects in high school to make it in this job, case in point the Polywater virus. But history and biology class, piloting and engineering: chemistry and calculus, everything I studied in history class on all the past ships named enterprise."
"But the situation regarding the Polywater virus took three things here at the time and with it. It took my real experience at doing this under pressure, but there's more to this then just being in Phys Ed." he said and they nodded to him. "You're right about that and you've been passing these tests with the highest scores in practical that these kids get in simulation at the moment."
"And in this case, there's more to the job then just using your muscles, but the captain and commander believe in brains over brawns, always have and always will. But you took to the job so easily that you know what they wanted and whatever project you have been cooking up is another example. But I'd consider this obsession a case of a health violation and physical burn out now."
"Though this keeps up and I'm looking at the kids that got ticked at the team captain and his gang for reporting them for a health violation and with it. If this heads in the direction of a physival burn out it maybe necessary to relive the kids of duty and in Hanson and Parker's cases. To put them on medical suspension till they're clean." Jim Shimoda said and he nodded in agreement to that.
"Someone starts something in here and we have to get security in here before said altercation turns into a bar brawl, or worse at this rate. But whoever causes it, influenced by whatever this is or no. And it's getting them a week on light duty under watch if they're beyond loaded. At the rate this is going and you already took the unspoken agreement to be my and Jake's coach, Dave."
"If the commander walks in the door just as the fight starts and we drag them before the captain, we're your players and with my date in here as well. I don't think you got a choice, but varsity captain going at the JV captain for one reason or another. And they're drunk, so everyone watching the conversation get ready for the fight here." Wesley said and the seven nodded in agreement.
As Geordi said it for all them as he answered him to that remark. "Alright again be on watch and ready for whatever's coming next at the moment though this keeps up we may have to arrest them and..." Geordi started to say as the O'Brien looked at the quintet. "Oh boy, how many did they have exactly, because they're looking like they're all drunk." Jenson asked sharply and the bartender answered that.
"With those kids, I was sticking it to the synthethol, though I think if they did replicate alcohol someone just crossed the line. And the regime strictly forbid drinking when on duty, especially when we have government officials on board at the moment right now. But the captain ordered that no one under the age of 26 was to be drinking when on duty and they're all 24 years old."
"If they were drinking it's getting it from the bartender just before me. Because Guinan's off duty right now at the moment and I need backup. With Lal now gone she was the only strong enough to break things up before someone got hurt if a fight broke out. If she was still alive, I don't doubt she'd take them apart if they attacked you out of jealousy, since you're like a brother to her."
"But if this is heading for a real fight every adult better keep and eye out for the time being. But this gets started and we better get Derek, Eric or Jack in here and fast." he said and they all nodded. "Son if whatever this is causes them to flip out be ready, because we're coming to you. Though this turns into a fight, we may have to arrest these kids, because you're my student and I'm your tutor."
"And we're on watch in case of trouble, because they start going at you, I think it's safe to that whatever this is, it's causing us to speak whatever we wouldn't normally say in front of the captain or the commander. Though if this is what I think, I think it just shifted back to what you told us." O'Brien said for all of them and Wesley nodded as they shifted position to the table directly across from the counter.
"Fieldman, Janson, get ready we could have trouble in a second." he added and the duo both nodded. "Yeesh, what the heck is going on here?" Peter Janson asked and he shrugged. "I wish I knew right now, but what I do know, is that we could have a case of speedballing in the college age athletic department and my players are the target, so stand by." Jenson said in answer to that and he nodded.
"College age?"he repeated and Jenson nodded to him."Yeah the quintet are just short of graduate school age, my boys are just under 18. And they've been here longer, but after the knack, I think it shifted from insults and jibes. And is about to shift into violence with them possibly drunk and speedballing right now. And to answer the unasked question at the moment, Wes and Jake, but the kids."
"I've been their unspoken coach since Beverly left the ship and with that, in mind." he said and the duo nodded."Yeah I get the point and we'll keep an eye out." Fieldman said as Wesley sat there talking to Shayla then. "Yeah and I can't say I blame you for that remark right now David, and as to why right now. It's because I did order that no one was supposed to be drinking when on duty anyway at the time."
"I take it this was ten minutes before the fight broke out honey?" Beverly asked and he nodded to her softly. "Yeah but get ready for this, because I knew you weren't going to like the results. My thoughts and opinions were heading in the direction yours were after the fight, but I couldn't remember the name of that disease at the time. But I knew it was related to this at the moment, but ten fights in two days at the moment."
"And it started at virtually the same time as when Sarek and his party beamed into the ship. But this was getting out of hand and this syndrome was connecting to substance abuse with it was that Deanna was feeling thirty different sets of emotions and not being able to tell who the fight started with. Though you got definite hit after my fight with Derek that night after you called him into your office." he said and the quartet nodded.
