Stargate Atlantis Trading Grounds I: The Return To La Rochelle
Warnings: This story is going to match the dialog, in the flashback memories, of chapter 4, of the past meets the present series. As it also follows the complete mental breakdowns, of the human half of the team. And Robert Makepeace and Adam Johnson, so the story is going to follow the dialog to the letter exactly. Along with some new dialog that was not in the fast forwarded portion in the flashbacks.
With this chapter now is that they are preparing to settle into their lives on the Enterprise, but from here on in, in to the rest of the story. As there is going to be a severe amount of Carter, Frasier and O'neill bashing, for the rest of the series. As what if there was more to the events of the second season, Hathor and Omac. Then we ever knew, and this story gives the pretense to it, followed by a rigging the proceedings.
Basing this in real time, rather then the show, of 25 years ago, Antarctica was a neutral zone for research so military research was not allowed out there. And with it, as the chair is considered military technology, it was meant to be last resort. In case of another orbital attack, so the outpost is now trade and exploration. So with this chapter, is the colony/crew is now getting used to being a slightly underwater crew.
As he's getting to work in trading to bring in more improvement for the planet at large now, so a military attack. Just to bring him back to the states, is attempted, is an international. In incidents and enough to get them convicted for kidnapping now, with his clearance. So from here, is he's dropping in on Ry'ac and Drey'auc and before the press conference. And just before his first stop in planets is to Gaea, home of the Nox.
This chapter will finish off this portion of the story-line, as the next two chapters and forward, cover chapter 2, going by the name. And of The Glory Of Tantulus, which covers things, from his going to the races and Tok'ra creation of the treaty. And his return to Shyla, before the following Chapters cover the the breakdowns of the trio and Carter, who's lost her ability to function mentally, out of desperation now.
As the mission was sanctioned, and he was transferred to Landry and the Atlantis team at the time. As Rodney McKay, Cam Mitchell, Vala Mal Doran, Hank Landry, Frank Simmons, Steven Caldwell, John Shepard. And Elizabeth Weir enter the picture here, the story will have Daniel and Teal'C joining their team. As the SGA is founded 5 years early, and moved into the outpost on earth….

Chapter 39: The Mission Begins And Permanent Farewells IX
"So there's my orders you heard it here from AMRID: Army, Navy and Air Force." he said and they swallowed hard. "Issues in everyone in our parents age group are calling me by my cub nickname now, to that which I don't mind, but my nickname in his voice. No I hate it now, the bastard is a sick pervert, that reminds me of Powell." he said and they nodded sternly. "Point taken, after reading your history." the doctor said to that.
"Decided to stick around, guys?" Daniel asked, looking at the other team and they nodded smiling. "Yeah, we had to make sure, remember McCoy doing the same thing here, well though highly advanced ship, we're not just giving up some of our ways here right now. That we had to make sure now everything is working here, so not leaving immediately here. If we decide now, with you creating a highly advanced government now." Ford said and he nodded gently then.
"If I didn't know any better, I feel like I'm seeing double here." Raynor said, looking between the 2 teams and they chuckled. "Yeah guys, this is Lieutenant General Warren and his team: Dave Peterson, Joe Davidson, Jane Parker, her husband Adam. James Kincaid, Rick Mascelli, and Devon Jacobs and you know the stars of the movie here, the Parkers are Dave's parents." Daniel said and they nodded, smiling. "Nice to meet you." Bishop said smiling and they nodded gently.
"One of the good things about being in a country as cold as this, we go around wearing warmer clothes under these medical scrubs. But the lab at times is freezing here, you need that when your office is office is 70°, so not too cold in there." Dillon said with a chuckle. "What we got in alien diseases in studying?" he asked and Peterson crossed his arms. "That's everything your team has walked into the last two years, including the PTD's." he said and Daniel nodded then.
"Whatever you do, do not set the damn thing off, or it's going to infect the outpost, but we walk into an alien bio lab IV. And he walks right into the contaminated area, they walk into to die a quick, quiet death, he's a dead man." Daniel said and he nodded. "Agreed, the little brat would not keep ending up in the emergency room, if he exercised common sense." Parker said to that sternly. "Yeah that and with it know being like a normal infirmary." Vala said to that smiling.
"Well the name tag on these scrubs helps, honey, and for these doctors the next age group up, after your's, it's being detached in the real military, us. We're 1965 to 80's in care, to answer the unasked question, we were checking our version of the medical containment lab. Like the cubicle we had outside the hospital, checking the protein markings on the new one. Everything's up and running, so anyone gets sick with another earthborn, go in there." Ford said to him gently then.
"Yeah guys, I have an idea of how to handle this, but with there being 75 teams working this bio lab, why don't you guys come here. So this serves two purposes right now that 1) is preventing it from getting to Earth now and 2). After the incident with the caveman plague, you're there to quarantine it, but that was easy, it's running a repeater off this. That tries everyone's patience, and no pun intended." Daniel said and the teams nodded, as Daniels smiled at the remark then.
"Catherine, you're the governor here and the IOA is the entire senate." Ford said and she nodded. "Do it, we do this, we follow all the channels, military and medical reenforcement, but just, if they get infected twice. Then keep them with the patients infected with it, your dorms are next to mobile unit." she said and he nodded to the orders. "So 75 teams, send someone here the kids know and trust." Schuler said and he smiled. "Us." Jaffe said and he smiled then.
"Agreed, he knows us, the way he knows Dave and his team, strong bond, so said reaction if we have to wake him up, if he gets sick. And he's not having a panic attack, he knows our voices on the second he hears them. As this time we're always around, and now both teams are here, along with 4 others here, so three teams go there. The other 3 stay here, and we're not bothering with synthesizing any serum from Teal'C's symbiote." Daniels said and they nodded.
"Billy, you're enough like Dillon to hold that position, he trusts us, we're like them, but 5 to ten teams here, and that should do it, the outpost created the CDC office now. We're doing intergalactic bio-lab's now." Keough said and he nodded. "I agree with her, Billy, so if Frasier comes along, we have 2 teams there at the hotspot, and know immediately. Why she's drained that much, it's to trigger a dangerous hiccup, so nice try." Schuler said and he nodded gently.
"So 75 teams, we send 5 of us here, Billy." Daniels said and Ford and Dillon nodded smiling. "Make it 15, and leave the other 60 there at AMRIID, so fully functional medical department, but anyone walking into a lab 4, and doesn't exercise extreme caution is facing court martial. So with that in mind here right now, after I heard about that idiot bringing back one two years ago. I will not tolerate a second, medical runs the SGA, and said charter is non existant here."
"The SGC, that was created in the heat of the moment two years ago after two attacks back to back, not enough time for rules, but the SGA was planned out here. Like the original mandate, perform recon, determine threats and make peaceful contact. As well as exercise the science and culture value, and of every mission from now on here. So with that in mind now, we're creating a fully activated government here at the Outpost now, military, law and order."
"And now we just added the big one here: disease and healthcare, by creating the CDC of the Antarctic department outpost now finally here, yes that's a very, very good idea here. Just to prevent it, and we can bring the arsenal with us now, only this time, if we find that host. On their planet and mix it with E-1101, that should do it, as they all get vaccinated now. But I should have used it when I had the chance, I should have listened to my instincts, so with that."
"How many medical staff we got here exactly?" he asked and Daniel checked the list. "That's 375 actually, and that's a mixture of civilian and military here in terms of quarantine. So quite the medical department now, along with the security detail, to prevent a riot now. Though hopefully this doesn't result in said movie right now, but frankly we need the CDC here. And you're the next best thing here." he said and they all nodded smiling gently to the idea then.
"Agreed, and this way it results in us handling things, but the colony created the medical department disease control now, so we're the CDC department of the outpost now." he said and Ford nodded in agreement. "Control of infectious diseases." he said to explain the terming and the Angosian doctor nodded in understanding. "It maintains quarantine and control of our lab, if it becomes airborne, we're bio-lab IV." he said and he nodded in understanding then gently.
"I really need to edit that movie from R to PG-13, so the quartet's planets can watch it, with you guys swearing in every other sentence, after you all lost your tempers finally." Daniel said and Daniels swung his head at that. "Look I was getting irritated they were stonewalling me, first refusal to issue the alert. After I realized how deadly the damn thing was, again after taking me off the case, and I was running testing on it, before the Scotts got infected with it now."
"And then comes the final realization it just went airborne, and not only did Robbie and her team get sent, I'm not acting like any normal Colonel now, my wife just entered the hotzone. And of my worst nightmares, she needed added help, so the guys and I sent ourselves. And to Cedar Creek ourselves, to get the team back together, though Zack was still on paternity leave here. Though Laura took his place, along with 4 more members of their team now at the time here."
"And till Billy also arrived and I dropped the bomb, after realizing it here, how could this kid get infected he hasn't had any contact with the other patients. That tracing it through the ventilation shafts, it slams into me now, not only here. That said virus had gone airborne, but this disease is beyond infectious, and nobody is controlling the mob scene outside. That 1 in 10 had it, then 10 others had it and it got out of town, we're finished." he said and the teams nodded gently.
"Said movie gave the act here, if this was a highly strong threat level, and if one person had it, then 10 others could come down with it, and it got out of town. Now that it gone airborne, and the medical department was in big trouble, they had to keep it quarantined." Daniel explained and the offworlders all nodded sternly to the news. "And we get another one, and you find that cure, I want to know about it, immediately." Clinton said sternly and they all nodded sternly.
"At least it's not like the teetsie fly, you know what happens here." Daniel said and they nodded gently. "We do and with that, that one has the same ability this one does, that it takes alot to keep you awake, but we don't need anyone adding fuel to the fire. By being so overly worked, your exhaustion combines with it right now." she said and he nodded. "I know and that's why it took 3 months to get off the planet last year, I been overly worked." he said and she nodded.
"You got to be kidding, they only had 12 teams, you guys are so overly worked, you're asleep on your feet?" Gardener said and he and Teal'C nodded. "Yeah and Machello's symbiote killers were the direct result of that right now, but battle fatigue. That can make you pretty crazy here, I should know, but Pyrus drew the medical red card, giving me the 3 months I needed to heal. But these guys are crazy, I mean completely certifiable." he said and they all nodded sternly.
"What's the damage exactly, if you had to use it that many times, baby?" Sarah asked and he ran his hand through his hair. "That's 30 broken bones, 15 damaged internal organs, my leg was broken in two places, along with my ankle, severe muscle and tissue damage. And the blow to my head severed both optic nerves, so blind in both eyes now, Philippe said. If not for the technology, and I'd be blind and in wheelchair the rest it my life." he said and they nodded.
And in fury at the news. "So their attempt was to claim, you're getting addicted to it, and screwing the queen?" Gardener said and he nodded. "Yeah, but I sent a letter home, and as did Pyrus, so dad knew everything and then I did a fast psyche out method. Based on a single fact here, said was she was trying to keep me there based on her knowledge over Jolinar. Only Cronus just told me, Jolinar's his minor." he said and she nodded sternly to the news then.
"Yeah she's out of her god damn mind, and did it ever occur to her, with the fact she has keys to your apartment, we can see her as an accomplice, and with us the cops now?" Gardener asked and Ford nodded. "We know and that's why we had her committed, after Daniel threw it back at her, Machello's words only in reverse here. As she judged your life, and Sha're's, baby, the way he judged Daniel's, and till Daniel reversed it on the girl." he said and they nodded sternly.
"If that's not cold blooded irony and nothing ever is, but then she deserves it, there's no coming back from this, without Amonet returning from the dead." Jordan said in understanding to that and Daniel nodded. "I know, that's why I decided enough already, there's no way to get her back, without bringing Amonet back with her. So it was time, time to let go and move on, said move on with a human woman, and not just any, but my college sweetie finally here."
"Get married, have children, start a family now, so journey's end at the SGC, start a new journey at the SGA, and stay on Earth 3/4's the time now." he said and she smiled and hugged him tightly and he pressed his forehead to her's gently then at that in response. "In truth and to quote Rick, as Mac, for the last 2.5 years, I been traipsing around the galaxy. Getting locked up, shot up and blown up, and all I got to show for it, is a few dozen scars, here I'm doing it now."
"Doing what I was paid to do, my knowledge is better use for this now, being a teacher and T.I. now, in combining both personalities together, of the kids favorite hockey trilogy." he said and they chuckled then. "Home all the time now, and if I go into labor, before a mission, we just clone you, and paternity leave now." she said and Landry chuckled and nodded smiling. "Good thinking, I wish we had that, when Jaffe's wife went into labor." Schuler said with a chuckle.
"And we got triple the teams necessary here to handle that, so no one collapses from exhaustion here at the moment, but honestly, we're calling the shots now. That 25% on missions, 75% working on the base, so there's 1/4 less of the unusual happenings coming on. And into this job starting now, and we mean that." Daniels said and the teams nodded. "As for your recovery, we're having you stabilized one month and then you leave." she said and Daniel nodded then.
"But what they were doing with you is completely illegal, they may claim this was only to prove you're everything they been saying, since Hathor. We say this is attempted indoctrination till you crack, and it never worked, so now they're in that hospital. But the longer they hold onto this, the longer they're under scrutiny, period." Ford said sternly and he nodded. "Well I think you know the reason, but does this look familiar, Doctor?" he asked and Daniels nodded sternly.
"Yes, but unfortunately now it's reversed, I'm no older then your parents, that screw with me, they're being locked up for life right now. The little brats should have left well enough alone, but they're all nearly 43, I'm turning 60 soon enough. That 17 year age difference, anyone comprehend that?" he asked and Raynor covered his eyes. "Parent doctor, screw with the next age group up, and they can have you jailed for this." he said and the duo nodded sternly.
"Dr. Keough's his wife, but the two sides combined together for this one, and till they scared the security guard, that Scott bribed, into telling them. That Scott smuggled a capuchin monkey out of the labs, this one is the carrier of the earth version to this disease now. As a result, it's ability to stay alive here, though infected, was enough they could create a serum. And out of the antibodies, we call that an antiserum here on earth." Anna said and the quartet nodded then.
"It's also why Robbie, Jared and I were furious here, they had the serum all this time, and this infection could have been prevented if they exercised some common sense here. And issued the god damn warning, before it mutated into a flu like disease now, as we tried to find it. The host, and till I went looking for the ship that had the host on board it, before James. Now got infected with the disease." Daniels said and they all nodded sternly as Daniel said it gently to him then.
"Not that I blame the guy that refused that quickly, slip up it could result in what happened to Robbie now, but an autopsy, you need a very strong stomach. Just to handle what goes on in the labs and operating room, but this is why these guys are not cut out. And for my job in forensic archeology, you need a strong knowledge of molecular genetics. To handle these things, to put that another way, is being a microscope jockey." he said and she chuckled and nodded.
"Yep and that's why they're the jarheads here right now, you been around us so long right now, you understand the dangers here. This is not a game, it's a medical warzone, we need to keep contained right now, but quite honestly, you done all you can as a soldier. Time to live on, as what you truly are again son, time to retire from the battlefield now." Daniels said and he nodded, Schuler squeezed his shoulder paternally and he sighed as he said it to him then.
"I know but even after 15 months and I'm 3/4's healed here, they still see this as that much time, it's too much of a good thing and time to return there. Even after we removed the Ancient repository from the system, they're still convinced. That they'll walk into another planet owned by her." he said and he nodded. "We know, and all that says is their minds snapped out of fear, they need serious help here." Ford said sternly and Carson nodded in agreement sternly then.
"But quite frankly we couldn't care less here right now, what they want, they did this to themselves, so they fix themselves, you stay here, baby." Keough said and Daniels finished that. "And they're out of their minds, the medical department runs the SGA, and it's not happening, as they get arrested a second time here now, for trying to hold you hostage now, son. Going to be okay, but they did enough damage, not allowing anymore." he said and Daniel nodded then.
"Well 5 teams, plus Billy should be enough here, plus the medical department, and one of the cargo bays carries the equipment for the MASH units now. But 4 generals, one of them has the medical department here, the others are command." he said and they nodded. "Good idea, so we have the medical department up and running, and Billy has the entire infirmary. Next is command is Sam and Casey and Diane here are sharing 3rd." Sanderson said and he nodded.
"And to say this again with everyone asleep in their feet 75% time at home, and 25% on missions right now, but listen wise guy, better stop with the snippy attitude." Dillon said and Schuler smiled and the teenage teams started laughing at that. "Doctor Schuler, I agree with him right now, but you don't have to over do it right now here. Everyone knows not enough rest you start developing a smart alec attitude next." Wes said and he nodded smiling gently then.
"Is he always like this, in the man playing him?" Danar asked and they all nodded. "Yeah and as a result, this is why it was close to insubordination in the lab at times here right now, Tony. Good point there, and we're spotting shifts between us, so nobody falls asleep on the job, again. But we're not doing that again, after I get this out, but the little brats do it again now. And heads are going to roll, but then, you belong to Andy now, so can it." Ford said and he nodded then.
"Yeah well I think you scared the heck out of them, when we say strong medical connection, you have no idea how strong till you realize the teams your rival are connected to. Said are looking, in appearance, like the cast of said movie epidemic right now." Daniel said and he chuckled and nodded smiling. "And what 16 years does to you right now, you knew Jamie and Jared, they're part of your graduating class." Daniels said to him then and he nodded smiling gently then.
"And having an inexperienced 43 year old doctor doing this, in experimenting on his symbiote, and it triggers a seizure, they did that on purpose. We could have them jailed for attempted murder here, again, after they barely killed you last week. So we just change that scene in the story, from her causing it, as the serums were combined, to create the antiserum. To her, and we know she's been compromised, to them, in desperation triggering a severe case of sepsis."
"Just to get you back in that prison, only not going to happen, as we bring you home here, and instead of Andy telling us, you haven't been feeling good for the last week. Is you come to us yourself, and to get yourself checked out and by now the side effects kick in next. And we know immediately it's not this disease, but two possibilities now, and one of them. We're praying is not the reason, we had to keep you awake long enough to know it." he said to him gently then.
"Well we just change that, you're on the medication that whoever is on, in Jaffa form now, and we can synthesize your medicine." Davidson said and Teal'C nodded then. "Yeah that and set these lunatics up now, by triggering it, so they have another attempted murder in charges. That is getting thrown at them now, but a jaffa suffering a seizure is a trip to the hospital. That's waiting to happen here now right now." Schuler said and Ford nodded sternly in agreement.
"Double decker bad news, first these bastards created the antiserum, but decided not to use it, after it killed the village it came from, and now we lose two people my age. Before a new version of the damn bug infects the entire damn city and two members of our team. Now get infected by it." Major Jared Salt said sternly and the quartet nodded in agreement. "Yes, but if the little bastard gets infected a second time, heads are going to roll." Daniels said to this then.
"Combating that virus, we're working as hard as we can, but if the serum works for you, by mixing it with the vaccine we created for the Ebola outbreak, it'll work. Depending the amount, we find the host, we find get the cure, but I tried to tell you, Casey. That you needed to get some sleep, because that could have been prevented." he said and Schular nodded with a sigh. "Well 2 teams we spot shifts, but two causes, it could be this, your immune system now."
"Said-is working over time to protect you, that it's taking immunity away from the rest of your body, and we get an emergency appendectomy to deal with. Or worse, you just came down with the flu finally, and passed out on us, in our conference room, kiddo." he said and Daniel nodded. "Well it could be worse, that if the stupid idiot would follow medical protocols for once in his life, we never have cross contamination, causing it to mutate, again." he said and he nodded then.
"Get treated by the real medical experts, said your parents age group, compared to a 43 year old doctor, we been doing this for 30 years. We're adopted family, and you stopped trusting her after Machello so only makes sense. That rather then dealing with her after she did enough to trigger said seizure and we can change that in the book. They barely missed killing you again by sepsis, we can treat you and you sleep this off." Davidson said and they nodded in agreement.
"Well two teams and a few dozen MASH units should be enough, as the 12 of you split shifts now, so nobody is working all night, as you get the rest you need after Dr. Schuler now." he said and they all nodded, as Keough ran her hand through the hair at the back of his head. And in maternal affection, and he hid a smile, knowing she still saw him 9 years younger than his age. "Yes and that goes double for you, you working over time." she said and their team nodded.
"Yeah I know, but the duo are the real problem here, we had our own campsite here being added to the infected, Gary, Teal'C, my unit and I are in the opposing tents. But my team goes in, before we get these guys showing up next right now, but frankly here. What should be good, wholesome mission to me ends up turning into a life and death when this loser comes with. And when he wants action I ruin it, so enough already." he said and both teams nodded sternly.
"Then we all know why the little bastard came along, to see the mortality rate for this disease." Landry said and Ford and Dillon nodded in agreement. "And not going to happen, we called off all bio weapon research after Apophis attempted that last year. But introducing an alien one, into the Earth science medical department, that's completely illegal. And claim, you're working here, is also not working out, forget it, you're happy here." Ford said to this and Dillon nodded sternly.
"That does happen, and I'm going to kill the little bastard, but there's no operation sandman here, we do this, we do it right and get the cure in. And before we reach the point, we lost 1/4 the said town we were at, to answer the unasked question here. We specialize in level 4 diseases, looking for a way to cure them, but said are the most deadly viruses there are. Said that destroy your body from the inside out, which is why we need those vaccines now."
"That's why your mentor is being sent to Queen Shyla, he's creating a deal for the drugs, as, if they're all containing the healing power of the sarcophagus. We just combine them with the serums we create, boosting healing in the body, and the person is cured in a week. Daniel's well known in the medical department, but we're all the more benevolent type. So do no harm, we're doctors." Keough said and the alien doctor, who was the father of one of the kids, nodded.
"Bad side effect here, bio test is the lab running lab testing, lab rats and animals, we're looking into the potential cure, but this particular disease, once infecting the body. Is it kills everything in it's path, and Billy jinxed us as we got the one, after Sam realized the damn thing. Now mutated and had now infected the entire theater, before infecting the entire town. Rick's twin brother was the town medical doctor." Schular explained and he nodded in understanding.
"That scene was actually pretty funny, when you guys were arguing over the effects of it, before the realization it arrived hit the table, as only you knew what you were looking at." Daniel said and the couple nodded with a smile. "And like I said, mark this day, as we could be waiting our whole life for a new one, and this now turns into a constant case of repeating actions. But nice try not falling for it, as you said this was 3 years hard work." he said and Daniel nodded then.
"Looks like the stupid idiot was hung up on dad telling us about his record, and after he yelled at Frasier, but with Andy at the base, after they lost a few dozen clones now. And this is why we use clones on earth now, to prevent further loss of life now." Daniel said and the medical teams nodded in agreement to that. "Yep, so you're filling their ranks up with clones now, and as a result, every dead team are really here, having a fun time in the job." Ford said to that gently.
"What was the blood test for?" Kyle asked and Daniel explained that. "Running a status check, it could be his system crashed from working over time, and he came down with the flu. High fevers result in you losing consciousness, and the medical team need to bring your fever down. Or worse, after being in the lab, and his suit got torn, he just been exposed to this disease." he said and the trio and their parents nodded. "Medical born." he said and they nodded gently.
"But lack of rest impacts your system, making it easier for any type of disease to creep in under the radar, the fact either of them hadn't slept in days. It resulted in this, and as a result now, the one time anyone forgets safety protocols, is the fact. That they're too exhausted to focus, and he was, so forgetting to undo his buckle now, that night. It tore his suit, and he has to get a fast cleaning, but the one in there with him was Dr. Keough." he said and they all nodded.
"And like I said, I was working with him in the lab, I should have known he just been exposed to it, but too little, too late. Only now, we're repeating these actions, we do this, we do it right, and Casey, be careful, Sam, Jared and I are not losing you." she said and he nodded as he squeezed her shoulder gently. "Us at this age, and now you got a problem, we're 59 years old and that brat is in big trouble, again, but said temperature this was…" he said and Daniel finished that.
"This high fever is of over 106°, that level, it's next to impossible to stay awake right now, which is why he was trying to keep him awake now. But the added side effect now, was that it causes convulsions, and one jolt, it accidentally stabbed her in the hand. But contaminated blood, said infected by a disease like this, the timer was out. And now that the truth was out, he was going to kill the resident cause for it, Adam's double now." he said to him and he nodded sternly.
"Two members of his team were infected, and McClintock tried to kick him off the case, to protect their bio weapon program, McClintock is like Colonel Harry Maybourne. Beyond dangerous, and will do anything to protect his weapons, in bio weaponry. If not for Dr. Harlowe, and his drugs, their attempt to synthesize that dragonfly could wipe out the entire planet." he said and the Angosians nodded in disgusted shock to the news, as the Marisposans nodded.
"To Dr. Daniels and his wife, Dr. Schuler's their best friend, so now this was personal, while for Jared, he was acting like a big brother/father to him, Daniels himself was his mentor.
