Hello everyone! I realize it has been a LONG time since I've updated this story. To be honest, I had some writers block on how to proceed with this story. I wasn't sure if anyone was still reading this story as I didn't get much feedback on the last chapter or so, but to those that requested an update, thank you as that inspired me to be creative with this chapter & story. Thank you to those who have reviewed/followed/favorited so far. It meant so much that you love the story and wanted to know what was happening with the characters. I hope you like the update. I don't own GH otherwise 'Patrina' would still be together.

Chapter 7

(The next morning after dropping off Emma at school, Patrick heads to the hospital as it is his day to work. After getting off the elevator, he walks to the Nurse's Station where he sees Elizabeth and Epiphany. He smiles at the two ladies as he speaks)

Patrick: "Good morning."

(Both nurses look to see who is speaking to them. When they notice it's Patrick, they look at him with a little mystery in their eyes)

Liz: "Hey. Good morning."

Epiphany: "Good morning, Drake Jr. Someone seems a little chipper today. Any reason why?"

(Patrick goes to the nurses and chuckles softly)

Patrick: (shakes his head) "No reason. Dropped Emma off at school and when I watched her go in, it just reminded me how lucky I am to have her. She reminds me so much of her mother. I know if I ever miss Robin, all I have to do is look into my five year olds eyes and see that pretty smile and I'm reminded of her."

(Elizabeth looks at her friend cautiously but is able to smile a little as well)

Liz: "Sounds like things are getting a little better."

(Patrick looks at Elizabeth and a small appears on his face)

Patrick: "I'm getting there, yes."

(Epiphany studies the doctor before smiling briefly)

Epiphany: "Well, I'm glad." (raises her eyebrows) "Who do we have to thank for your sudden change in moods?"

(Patrick looks at the head nurse with a questionable look before leaning his head back slightly)

Patrick: "Excuse me?"

(Epiphany shakes her head at Patrick. Patrick wasn't showing it, but she could tell he was playing dumb. She grunts softly before smirking)

Epiphany: "Oh, no, Drake Jr. You're not playing that game with me. You may be able to fool others, but you know perfectly well you can't fool me."

(Patrick studies Epiphany for a few seconds before shaking his head and walks to the stack of folders that had his name on it to work on this morning)

Patrick: "I don't know what you're talking about."

(Epiphany tilts her head, looking at Elizabeth, who can't help but quietly giggle at Patrick's denial in the fact that he's in a good mood. Both nurses knew something was up because the day before, he seemed down and knew not to press the issue. But when he came to work just now, it was obvious someone cheered him up. They had their suspicions on who that someone could be. But instead of prying it out of him, they were going to tease him a little bit until he had no choice but to reveal the person's name)

Liz: "Let's see…" (walking around Patrick) "…yesterday you were down in the dumps and pretty much kept to yourself. Now…" (smirking) "…you're more cheerful and you're talking more."

(Patrick chuckles before looking at the two nurses)

Patrick: "And your point would be?"

(Elizabeth and Epiphany look at Patrick briefly before they face each other, folding their arms and tilting their heads)

Liz: "What do you think?"

Epiphany: "I think someone had a nice evening at home with a certain nurse with red glasses hanging out with a very mature five-year-old." (raises her eyebrows) "Do you think I'm right?"

(Elizabeth looks like she's thinking and sighs before smirking at the head nurse)

Liz: "I don't know, Epiphany. Ever since a certain young woman with red glasses came to work at this hospital, she's made quite an impression on a hot young doctor with an adorable little girl. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was starting to feel a little something for her."

(Elizabeth and Epiphany look at each other mischievously before facing the young doctor with an innocent smile, causing him to blush, proving their point)

Liz: (smirking) "What do you think, Epiphany?"

Epiphany: (smirking) "I think he's trying to hide how he really feels." (to Patrick) "Aren't you, Drake Jr.?"

(Patrick rolls his eyes and can't help but blush again and tries to look away from the two nurses, but it's clear the two ladies aren't letting him hide his emotions. He turns to look at them and sighs deeply, as if giving up and smiles slightly)

Patrick: "Are you happy now?"

(Epiphany and Elizabeth look innocently at the doctor and shrug, as if they're playing dumb)

Liz: "Happy with what?"

Epiphany: "What did we do?"

(Patrick raises his eyebrows and clears his throat)

Patrick: "You two know exactly what you did."

(Elizabeth and Epiphany look at each other before facing their friend and shrug, continuing their innocent act)

Epiphany & Liz: "No, we don't."

(Patrick shakes his head in response. He turns around to work on his files, causing the two nurses to silently giggle behind the doctors back. Patrick looks up from his work without moving his head and can't help but let a small smile spread across his face. He knew what they were doing and as much as he was trying to deny or ignore it, he admitted to himself what his friends were trying to accomplish: that he was starting to have feelings for Sabrina Santiago. He looked confused at first because he knew what was happening being he was starting to feel something for the nurse…it meant he was slowly moving on from Robin. He wasn't sure how he felt about that because Robin had been his entire world for so long. But, if he were honest with himself, he was realizing that it was okay to feel something for someone else. He would never forget his wife or how much he loved her because Emma was proof of that. But he and Robin had always told the other that if something happened to one of them, they would eventually find someone else so Emma would have another parent besides the one that was still there)

(As Elizabeth, Epiphany, and Patrick are busy working at the Nurse's Station, the elevator doors ding before opening. The person comes out of it, revealing Sabrina. She walks to the Nurse's Station wearing her scrubs. She goes to the three and smiles before speaking)

Sabrina: "Hey, guys."

(They look up and smile at the nurse)

Liz: "Hey, Sabrina. How was your night?"

Sabrina: (smiles & nods) "Very well. I hung out with a friend and we chatted."

Epiphany: "Does this 'friend' have a name?"

(Sabrina looks at the two nurses nervously before quickly glancing at Patrick, as if asking him what she should or should not say. Patrick tenderly smiles before speaking)

Patrick: "It's okay, Sabrina. You can tell them." (to Liz & Epiphany) "She was at my place last night. I made Emma's favorites for supper and then I watched one of her favorite movies. I invited Sabrina to stay but of course I made sure it was okay with Emma. It was, of course." (chuckles) "Emma really likes Sabrina."

Sabrina: (smiles) "I adore her as well. She makes it really easy to love her."

Liz: "Of course, Dr. Drake isn't so bad, either." (smirking)

(Sabrina can't help but blush at Elizabeth's comment)

Sabrina: "I enjoy Dr. Drake's company."

Patrick: (smiles) "I enjoy yours, as well, Sabrina."

(Patrick raises his eyebrows as he points to the head nurse)

Patrick: "And don't think I don't know what you were trying to do yesterday."

(Epiphany points at herself with a puzzled look)

Epiphany: "Me? What'd I do?"

(Patrick chuckles as he shakes his head)

Patrick: "You know perfectly well the schedule could've waited until I came in today. But you asked Sabrina to bring it to me."

Epiphany: (chuckles) "You know perfectly well, too, Drake Jr., that you like to have the schedule when it comes out. I'm sure Nurse Santiago told you I had somewhat of a difficult time with it so I knew you'd want it when finished." (shrugs & smirked) "So, don't blame me on that one, my dear. I'm just following orders." (raises her eyebrows) "Am I right?"

(Patrick briefly points at Epiphany and was about to protest, but he stops himself when he realizes she was right. He rolls his eyes in response, causing her to laugh)

Epiphany: "I thought so." (smugly smiles) "You should know not to try winning an argument with me, Drake Jr., because I'm always right." (to Liz) "Am I right?"

(Elizabeth can't help but smile at her boss)

Liz: "You always are."

Patrick: (jokingly to Liz) "Traitor."

Liz: (shrugs) "Nope, I'm being realistic." (laughs) "Face it, Patrick, you know she's right."

(Epiphany and Elizabeth go back to work, leaving the doctor and Sabrina to talk)

Patrick: (smiles a little) "Thanks for coming over last night….even though Epiph asked you to."

Sabrina: (smiles) "No problem. I had fun. She can ask me anytime to drop something off." (chuckles) "Of course, I don't need a reason. You and Emma are fun to be around."

Patrick: (raises his eyebrows & smiles) "Even if all we're doing is watching 'Shrek' and eating grilled cheese and soup?"

Sabrina: (giggles) "We could be having cereal and it'd be a blast."

(Sabrina reaches out to touch Patrick's hand with hers, causing him to look at their conjoined hands together. He smiles a little before meeting with Sabrina's eyes and her gentle smile)

Sabrina: "You and Emma never bore me. Remember that."

(Patrick smiles tenderly and moves his hand so he can slightly massage it)

Patrick: (nods) "I will. Thank you for always being there for me."

Sabrina: (nods & smiles) "Thank you for always being there for me, too. I'm glad we have each other."

(Sabrina realizes what she just said to Patrick and nervously clears her throat before speaking)

Sabrina: "I-I mean, as friends of course."

(Patrick uses his free hand and lifts Sabrina's chin so she's looking at him and smiles)

Patrick: "I think you had it right the first time."

(When Sabrina realizes what he meant, she blushes before smiling shyly at the doctor. She didn't realize when she moved to Port Charles that she would possibly find her Prince Charming. She thought it would never happen in a million years. But she was realizing it was starting to come true)

Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed this story and for those who are generous with the reviews, follows, and favorites. If you are still with me on this ride, please review so I know what you think of this update. It's greatly appreciated. I have a question for you guys. In my last update, I had a request to write the Britch in this story. I'm wondering how you feel about that. If you do want her in here, I have a storyline idea in mind. I will be doing a poll on whether or not you want the Britch in the story. The most popular choice will win. It will be up by the time this update is posted. I will give you a heads up when I close the poll. It will be open to everyone so you have a chance to tell me what you want. Thank you for all reading! Until next time!
