Chapter 14

(The next day at work, Elizabeth and Felix are busy at the Nurse's Station. They hear a woman humming happily as she reaches the same area. They chuckle softly as they knew that voice anywhere. Elizabeth turns halfway around to see her friend)

Liz: "Someone's in a happy mood."

Felix: "I wonder why."

Liz: "I'll bet I can imagine how 'the talk' went."

(Sabrina chuckles as she places her hands on her hips)

Sabrina: "How'd you know it was me? You were deep in paperwork, so I know you didn't see me."

Felix: (snorts) "Oh, please, girl! Anyone with ears can spot that voice of yours anywhere."

Liz: (nods) "He's right. I've known you long enough to where I have your voice memorized."

(Felix sets aside his paperwork and turns around. He folds his arms and gives Sabrina his full attention. Elizabeth does the same)

Felix: "Okay, girl. Spill."

Liz: (smiles) "How was your night with Patrick? You two got everything out in the open, right?"

Sabrina: (nods &smiles) "It was great. He apologized for taking so long to admit his feelings for me. I told him I understood being he lost Robin not too long ago." (shakes her head) "I would never force him to admit something or feel something he wasn't ready for."

Liz: (smiles) "That's why we know you two are perfect for each other because Patrick feels the same way."

Felix: "You deserve all the happiness in the world and I have no doubt Drake will provide that." (smiles happily) "You did good, girl."

Liz: (nods & smiles) "Yes, you did."

Sabrina: (nods & smiles) "I have waited for Patrick to come into my life for so long. He's sweet, patient, thoughtful, and it warms my heart how loving he is with Emma."

Felix: (nods excitedly) "You two were meant for each other. I know you are technically a newbie here, Sabrina. You have been here less than a year. But to me..." (points at Liz) "...and I'm pretty sure she would agree...you're a natural here. You and Patrick? I know you're the real deal."

Liz: "Felix is right, Sabrina. You may be technically new here, but to me, I feel like I've known you all my life. I don't know if you feel the same way, but I consider you one of my best friends."

Sabrina: (sighs happily) "Oh, Elizabeth! Of course! Both you and Felix...you are two of my best friends here. So is Patrick."

Felix: (raises his eyebrows) "He better not be just 'a friend' after what happened last night."

Sabrina: (chuckles) "No, we put everything on the table last night. We both know our true feelings. I trust that when Patrick's ready, he'll make the next move."

Felix: (seriously) "He better ask you out, girl. If he doesn't, he and I will have words."

Liz: (playfully rolls her eyes) "I'm sure Patrick will, Felix. You can't expect everything to happen all at once."

Felix: (shrugs in defeat) "Hey. A guy can dream, right?"

Sabrina: "Yes, you can dream. I also know you won't interfere, right?"

Felix: (shakes his head) "No, I won't." (smiles) "I know you will get your happily ever after."

Sabrina: (giggles) "Thank you, Felix." (sighs) "After our chat, we went to Patrick's house to spend time with Emma."

Liz: (smiles) "I'm sure the little sweetheart was happy about that."

Sabrina: (nods & smiles) "She was. Patrick let her stay up a little bit longer and I let her pick out a movie. She chose 'Frozen' as Patrick acts out the parts."

(They all laugh at that)

Felix: "I so wish I would have been there."

Liz: "Oh, yes, Felix. I'm sure Patrick would've let you tease him on his animation voices."

Sabrina: "He made popcorn and we all had a good night."

(Elizabeth gives Sabrina a friendly hug)

Liz: "I'm so happy for you, girl."

Felix: "Where is Drake Jr. at anyway?"

Liz: "Doing his rounds."

Felix: (to Sabrina) "You'll keep us updated on any progress?"

Sabrina: (nods & smiles) "You know I will."

(Patrick has just finished with a patient when he runs into Epiphany. He has a bright smile across his face, showing off his white teeth)

Patrick: "Well, hello there."

Epiphany: "Hello yourself."

(She notices that he can't contain his enthusiasm)

Epiphany: "You sure have been a lot happier lately." (raises her eyebrows) "Does a certain redheaded nurse with glasses have anything to do with that?"

Patrick: (smirks) "She might."

Epiphany: (nods) "It has been a long time since I have seen you this happy. You deserve it after everything that has happened in your life."

Patrick: (smiles sincerely) "Thank you. I never thought it was possible to be this happy again. I owe it to Sabrina. Emma will always be my priority, but Sabrina is second at that."

Epiphany: "I imagine Emma adores Sabrina, too?"

Patrick: (chuckles) "Oh, she loves her. It goes both ways."

Epiphany: (smirks) "I also imagine pretty soon you will be asking Sabrina out on a date?"

(Patrick laughs at Epiphany's choice of words as well as her sneakiness)

Patrick: "One thing I've always liked about you, Epiphany, is the way you get down to business."

Epiphany: (nods) "You better believe it, Drake Jr."

(Patrick tilts his head at the head nurse and smirks)

Patrick: "It may happen sooner than you think."
