My apologies on the VERY long delay of this update. I guess you could say I needed to get re-energized. I also hit a bit of writer's block on how to continue the story. Obviously 'Patrina' will be endgame in this story. I appreciate the reviews I have gotten on this story so far. If I still have fans of his story (and 'Patrina'), please let me know and I'll gladly continue. Your reviews inspire me to keep writing. Enjoy this next update. I don't own GH.

Chapter 15

(Sabrina is currently in an exam room with a patient at GH)

Sabrina: "What can I do for you, Miss Coe?"

Miss Coe: (embarrassed face) "I accidentally cut my hand when I was cleaning the burners on top of my stove. I was trying to pull them out and my hand got caught on the sharp part." (sighs) "I know that I should have been more careful. I'm what you call 'very accident prone'."

Sabrina: (shakes her head) "No one is perfect, Miss Coe. We all injure ourselves without meaning to." (smiles) "You came to the right place. Let me take a look at your hand to see how bad the cut is."

(Miss Coe lets Sabrina hold her hand to check the damage. As Sabrina examines the cut, she notices it's a deep wound)

Sabrina: "Considering the cut looks deep, I'm surprised it's not bleeding more."

Miss Coe: "Oh, I did my best to stop the bleeding."

Sabrina: (nods & smiles) "You did very well, ma'am."

Miss Coe: "Oh, Lucy, please." (smiles sincerely) "Thank you for being so nice to me. A lot of doctors and nurses these days just concentrate on getting the job done. I see very few nurses/doctors take the time and actually get to know their patient."

Sabrina: (chuckles) "Well, I treat everyone here like a family...and that includes the patients. That is what my mother taught me growing up." (smiles) "I'm lucky to have had her in my life."

Lucy: "It sounds like she's deceased."

Sabrina: (nods) "Yes, ma'am."

Lucy: (sympathetically) "For what it's worth, Nurse Santiago, she raised a very beautiful and talented young woman."

Sabrina: (nods appreciatively) "Thank you, ma'am."

Lucy: (nods encouragingly) "Lucy, please."

Sabrina: (chuckles) "Thank you, Lucy." (clears her throat) "As for this cut, you will need stitches. I'm not sure how many you will need, but Dr. Drake is the best." (nods & smiles) "You are in very good hands."

Lucy: (grins) "Thank you, Nurse Santiago. You are very kind."

Sabrina: (chuckles) "I'm just doing my job."

Lucy: (shakes her head) "No, it's more than that. I hope every nurse/doctor are as kind and considerate as you."

Sabrina: (smiles) "Thank you. Dr. Drake will be in in just a few minutes. Thank you for coming and for choosing this hospital."

(After Sabrina leaves the exam room, she runs into Patrick)

Sabrina: (smiles) "Hi."

Patrick: (smiles wide) "Hi, beautiful."

Sabrina: (giggles) "Aren't you a charmer?"

Patrick: (tilts his head) "I try to be. How's our patient?"

Sabrina: "She has a deep cut on her hand from taking out the burners on top of her stove."

Patrick: (winces) "Ouch."

Sabrina: (nods) "Yeah, it's not pretty." (grins) "She's very nice, though." (smile slightly fades) "She says she doesn't encounter very many nice nurses/doctors, so she thanked me for caring."

Patrick: (nods) "You ARE very nice, Sabrina. I have never heard one bad thing about you from anyone." (smiles) "That should tell you something."

Sabrina: (smirks) "That I do my job well?"

Patrick: (chuckles) "That, too. But that you care about all of your patients. You treat them well."

Sabrina: (nods & shrugs) "I want them to feel safe and that they can trust us."

Patrick: "You do very well at that, too, Sabrina."

(He rests his right hand on the right side of her shoulders. When she notices, she can't help the blush that forms. Patrick clears his throat and removes his hand)

Patrick: (chuckles nervously) "I better get to Miss Coe."

Sabrina: (winks) "Talk to you later, Dr. Drake."

Patrick: (nods confidently) "Count on it."

(Patrick goes into the exam room to tend to Miss Coe. Sabrina walks to the Nurse's Station. Epiphany, Elizabeth, and Felix are already there)

Sabrina: "How are my three favorite nurses doing this fine afternoon?"

Epiphany: (grunts) "Obviously not as great as you are, Nurse Santiago."

Sabrina: (winces) "Am I that obvious?"

Liz: (chuckles) "Let me put it this way. We can see your happy smile coming a mile away. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with being happy, girl."

Felix: (under his breath) "Patrick can make you even happier if he'd step up."

(Sabrina playfully rolls her eyes as she approaches the male nurse)

Sabrina: "He will when he's ready, Fe." (shakes her head) "I'm not going to force him."

Felix: (confused & shrugs) "How'd you know what I said?"

Sabrina: (raises her eyebrows) "No offense, Felix. But even though you were whispering, I can still read you like a book. Especially on the Patrick situation."

Felix: (winces) "Am I that obvious?"

Liz/Epiphany: "Yes."

Felix: (shrugs) "I just want you to be happy, Bri."

Liz: "We want that, too. But we need to let Patrick do his own thing. You don't want to piss him off, do you?"

Felix: "No." (sighs) "Okay, change of subject." (to Sabrina) "Are you working forward to seeing Emma Drake later?"

Sabrina: (giggles) "Yep! I'm taking her to see 'Finding Dory' tonight. I offered to ask Patrick to come with, but Emma wanted to have a girl's night out. I was totally fine with that, of course."

Liz: "How sweet."

(They all go their separate ways to do their work)

***Hours Later at the Nurse's Station***

(Elizabeth is charting on the computer. Felix and Epiphany are going through folders on what they need to update on the computer. Sabrina is filling out paperwork from that morning's appointments. Patrick walks towards them, but stops when he reaches the elevator. He sighs deeply in nervousness. He briefly rearranges his doctor's uniform in an attempt to look more comfortable and brave, if that were possible)

Patrick: (whispers) "Come on, Drake. You can do this. How hard can it be? You've done it before with Robin." (scoffs) "That was how many years ago?" (sighs) "Be brave."

(He lovingly stares at Sabrina, who continues to do her paperwork. She doesn't notice him staring at her. He walks to her and stops when he is standing across the counter from her)

Patrick: (smiles) "Good afternoon, Nurse Santiago."

(She looks up to see the handsome doctor)

Sabrina: (smiles) "Good afternoon to you, too, Dr. Drake."

Patrick: "I have something I want to ask you."

Sabrina: (nods) "Okay. Go ahead."

(Sabrina gives Patrick her full attention. Epiphany, Elizabeth, and Felix try to concentrate on their work. They are failing miserably as they sneak speaks at the soon-to-be couple. They smile and continue listening)

Patrick: (chuckles nervously) "I should have asked this a little while ago."

Sabrina: (nods in understanding) "I knew you would when you were ready."

Patrick: (slightly confused) "I take it you already knew what I'm going to ask?"

(Sabrina glances at Epiphany, Elizabeth, and Felix, who continue to pretend that they're not listening. Sabrina giggles at Patrick)

Sabrina: "I think it's safe to say a lot of the hospital staff is already clued in."

Patrick: (laughs) "True."

(Patrick playfully rolls his eyes as he knew Elizabeth, Felix, and Epiphany were privately listening in on the exchange between him and Sabrina)

Patrick: "Okay, you guys. It's obvious that you want to witness what I'm about to ask Sabrina."

(Sabrina is slightly caught off-guard when Elizabeth, Felix, and Epiphany rally around her. The three smile while glancing at both Sabrina and Patrick. Patrick shows his nervousness again. Felix offers his friend words of comfort)

Felix: (smiles) "You got this, Patrick." (nods) "Speak from the heart. You can do it."

(Patrick smiles as he takes Sabrina's hand into his)

Patrick: "Sabrina Santiago, will you do me the honor of going out on a date with me?"

Sabrina: (giggles happily) "Yes, Patrick! I would love to go out with you!"

(Epiphany, Elizabeth, and Felix congrat the new couple. Epiphany can't resist her next move. She walks to Patrick and raises her eyebrows)

Epiphany: "Congrats...it took you long enough to do it, though."

Patrick: (shakes his head & chuckles) "Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humor, Piph."

Epiphany: "Do I ever?"

(Elizabeth embraces Sabrina and smiles)

Liz: "I'm happy for you."

Sabrina: (smiles) "Thank you, Elizabeth."

(Sabrina faces her friend with a nervous glance)

Sabrina: "I have a favor to ask you."

Liz: (concerned) "Is everything okay?"

Sabrina: (nods) "Yes. I've wanted to do something for awhile now. Can you please me with it?"

Liz: (nods & smiles) "Yeah, of course. Whatever you need."

(Elizabeth couldn't help but wonder what her friend wanted)
