Title: Another Chance at Love

Chapter 20

(Once Friday hits, Patrick picks up Sabrina at her place. They go to Kelly's for supper like she suggested before for their second date. Once at Kelly's, they put their coats on the back of their chairs and sit down. Once they get comfortable, they wait patiently for a waiter or waitress to come. A waitress comes to them)

Waitress: "Hi. What can I get for you two?"

Sabrina: "I would like a BLT with extra mayo and a glass of water, please."

Patrick: "Can I get a double cheeseburger with pickles and an iced tea?"

Waitress: "No problem. Coming right up."

(The waitress walks away, leaving the couple to themselves)

Patrick: "You look beautiful tonight."

Sabrina: (laughs) "I'm wearing tan capris and a plain pink shirt. I probably should have dressed up more."

Patrick: "No, you're perfect. I'm in jeans and a flannel shirt." (chuckles) "Maybe I should have dressed up more."

Sabrina: "I think we both did just fine. In my opinion, as long as we have fun, that is all that matters."

Patrick: "I completely agree."

(Once their orders arrive, they hungrily dig in and engage in small talk. Sabrina cannot help but chuckle a bit at her date. He notices after a few seconds and looks at her curiously)

Patrick: "Okay, Santiago, what's so funny?"

Sabrina: (clears her throat) "Kind sir, I cannot help but notice you have a bit of ketchup on the side of your mouth. Dr. Drake, it appears your mouth is too small."

(They both share a laugh before Patrick attempts to clean himself off)

Patrick: "Better, my dear?"

Sabrina: (chuckles) "Not quite. Come here. Lean forward and I will help you."

(Patrick does as he is told and leans forward so Sabrina can use a napkin and successfully wipe his face off)

Sabrina: "There we go. Much better."

Patrick: "Hmmm…you help your patients and your date. Very sweet of you, Nurse Santiago."

Sabrina: (giggles) "You're very welcome."

Patrick: "Anything you don't do?"

Sabrina: (winks) "We shall see."

(They continue eating. About ten minutes later or so, it was Sabrina's turn to miss her mouth. Patrick just admired his lady and how she looked so carefree. Even though she had mayo by her cheek, she still looked amazing. Sabrina notices Patrick looking at her sweetly)

Sabrina: "Okay, Dr. Drake, what is the latest scoop? Is it my turn to have something on my face the way you are glancing at me?"

(Patrick grabs a napkin and leans towards Sabrina)

Patrick: "Yes, milady. You have a touch of mayo on your cheek."

(Patrick tenderly and slowly wipes her cheek clean)

Patrick: "There. Good as new."

Sabrina: (smiles) "Why didn't you say anything before now?"

Patrick: (shrugs) "Simple. You looked so cute I didn't have the heart to wipe it off."

(Sabrina playfully rolls her eyes before they finish eating and chat more)

Patrick: "I don't know about you, but I'm really enjoying our second date."

Sabrina: "Same here. I am having a really fun time. Ha- ha. In fact, I cannot wait until our third date at the park with Emma tomorrow. I know it will be a blast."

Patrick: "Oh, I have no doubt Emma's excited about it. I'm anxious for it because it'll be the three of us. It warms my heart when I see you and her together and laughing."

Sabrina: (smiles & shrugs) "She makes it easy. It's that simple. I love that little girl."

Patrick: (nods) "She loves you, too."

(As much fun as they are having, they knew it was time to call it a night. Once the date concludes, Patrick brings Sabrina home. Outside her place, they both knew what the other wanted. They smile and lean forward so he can tenderly kiss her on the lips. Mmm, her lips tasted like strawberries. So good. They break free)

Patrick: (smiles) "Good night, my sweet."

Sabrina: (smiles) "Good night, my angel."

(He makes sure she gets inside safely and then he goes home)

***The Next Day***

(Patrick, Sabrina, and Emma go to the park. It is officially Patrick and Sabrina's third date and this time, Emma gets to come with. Sabrina goes on the swings with Emma. They cannot help but chuckle when Patrick decides to go on the swings, too. They all take turns going down the slide)

(There is a wheel swing that Sabrina pushes Emma on. Sabrina makes sure that Emma is holding on tight before she pushes her on it. Patrick brought a toy bat and ball so he could pitch it to Emma in the grass next to the playground. A little bit later, after Sabrina is done pushing Emma on the wheel swing, Patrick pitches the toy ball to Emma. Emma sometimes misses, however, the couple cheers Emma on when she hits the ball)

Patrick: "Good job, sweetie!"

Sabrina: "Yay, Emma!"

(They both clap their hands as they cheer on Emma. After a few more hours of playing ball and on the playground, they agree to call it a day and go to Kelly's for supper. They talk about their day and that they all had fun)

(Emma and Patrick drop off Sabrina at home. Patrick kisses Sabrina on the cheek and hugs her. Emma hugs Sabrina, too. As Patrick and Emma leave, Emma cannot help but giggle which Patrick notices)

Partick: "Okay, what's going on?" (curiously)

Emma: "You know, daddy, you CAN kiss Sabrina on the lips if you want to. It's clear by how much fun we had. Also…" (smiles) "…I know you and Sabrina are falling in love with each other."

(Patrick narrows his eyes and smirks at his daughter)

Patrick: "You think so, huh?"

Emma: (nods) "Yep!" (shrugs) "It's okay if you do love Sabrina, daddy, because I love her, too."

Patrick: "I am very grateful and happy to hear that. I also love that you said that, baby girl."

(He takes his daughter's hand in his and they go home)
