Notes:

The second part of the Robbins visit. A little bit of Arizona's past comes out while some of Callie's past wants a chat.

We're also going to pretend the Owen in this story is sane. Cool? Cool.

Enjoy!

Arizona held Sofia on her hip as she guided her parents and Callie through the halls of the hospital the next day. She and Callie were giving them a tour of the public areas, so they could see where the doctors spent far too much of their time.

"And this is my office." Arizona used her key to unlock the door. She flipped the lights on before stepping inside.

The office was spartan with a desk covered in papers, a couch with a blanket and some pillows to put around Sofia if Arizona nabbed her in the middle of the day, a small table, and four chairs and a playmate in the corner with a few toys.

"Arizona isn't here much. She thinks it's haunted," Callie said from behind Daniel and Barbara.

"It is," Arizona chuckled. She shifted Sofia to her other side to keep her settled. She would be forever grateful for her daughter being easy going.

"It's a nice office, a little sparse," Barbara said as she looked around. "I would think you'd have more art from the kids hung up or some photos."

"I really don't spend much time here," Arizona said with a shrug. "I usually go to the lounge just off the peds ward to chart. I don't like locking myself away."

"A good officer is always able to meet with their troops," Daniel nodded approvingly.

"Oh, Daniel," Barbara chuckled at her husband.

Sofia let out a squeal and launched half out of Arizona's arms when Mark stepped behind Callie. She made a grunting sound when Arizona pulled her back against her.

"Robbins, you've been holding out on me," Mark grinned at her. "You have full sized candy in your break room up here."

"That's for the kids and parents, Mark. Not for you," Arizona rolled her eyes. "Mom, Dad, this is Dr. Mark Sloan. He's our head of plastics. Mark, these are my parents, Colonel Daniel Robbins and Barbara Robbins."

"Nice to meet you both," Mark greeted. He tucked the snickers bar he grabbed for Lexie in his pocket so Arizona wouldn't take it away from him.

"Nice to meet you, Dr. Sloan," Barbara smiled at him.

"Mark lives across the hall," Callie explained to Arizona's parents. "He's a big help with Sofia if Arizona and I both get paged in the middle of the night."

"Want me to take the little goose, so you guys can have lunch in peace?" Mark offered.

"No, baby thief," Callie said with a roll of her eyes. "Go play with Zola if you need your baby fix."

"I am not a baby thief; I'm her godfather," Mark shot back with a grin.

"We're good, Mark," Arizona said before Mark and Callie could start teasing each other too much. "But thanks for the offer. After Mom and Dad go back, you can babysit one night next week."

"Lexie's on nights so any night works," Mark smiled at the chance to play dad for a night.

"I have to go, but I'll see you all later." Mark looked down when his pager went off. "Nice to meet you again, Colonel, Mrs. Robbins." He left as quickly as she appeared.

"So that was, Mark," Arizona said. She shifted Sofia when she fussed a little that Mark was here, but she didn't get to play with him.

"You have a nice support system here," Barbara noted as they left Arizona's office to head down to grab lunch.

"Calliope had it mostly in place before I came back around," Arizona admitted before sliding her hand into Callie's.

"For all the support I had before, nothing beats seeing you and Sofia together," Callie said as they walked. "You're the best with her."

"She deserves the best," Arizona said with a dimpled smile.

They didn't make it thirty feet down the hallway before Alex walked over to the group. He had a chart in his hand that he wordlessly handed to Arizona after Arizona handed Sofia off to Callie. Callie knew the look Alex wore.

Arizona broke away to step a few feet away with Alex. She reviewed the chat while shaking her head. The pair shared a sad look when she looked at her young resident. There was nothing more to be done.

"Talk to the parents about options," Arizona said in a tight voice. "If they want to talk to me, page me. You've been with them since Abby was born, so I think they'll want you over me anyway. They trust you."

"Alright, Robbins," Alex nodded slowly.

"I'm sorry, Alex," Arizona reached out to put her hand on his shoulder. "This is the hard side of the job. Come find me after and I'll have you meet my parents, alright?"

"Yeah," Alex nodded once before walking away.

Arizona stepped back to her parents and Callie. She carefully took Sofia back before bending her head to breath in the baby smell that Sofia still had.

"That's the not fun part of what I do," Arizona explained to her parents as Callie slipped an arm around her waist.

"Every job has moments of hardship." Daniel reached out to put his hand on Arizona's shoulder. "Weathering that can tell you a lot about a person."

Sofia pushed at Arizona's chest and leaned up to give her a sloppy kiss on the cheek and a giggle. It was enough to break the funk that had fallen over the group, so they could head down to lunch.

"Our daughter has great timing," Arizona said as they started walking to the elevator again.

"I'll remind you of that at two in the morning," Callie chuckled when she hit the button.

They all stepped on the empty elevator together to head down to lunch. Arizona felt her phone buzz and grabbed it to see Teddy's message that she was there.

"Teddy's here," Arizona announced.

"I'll be nice to see Major Altman," Daniel smiled.

"I swore your brother was going to end up with her," Barbara sighed. "But Timothy could never work up the courage. So different with women than you, Arizona."

"Gee, thanks Mom," Arizona laughed. She leaned her head against Callie's shoulder when Callie wrapped an arm around hers.

"Your brother got nervous around women," Daniel chuckled as he thought of his first born. He rarely did to protect him but seeing Arizona with her own child somehow allowed him to without feeling the crushing weight. "Do you remember him trying to ask that girl to senior prom? I thought you'd have to ask her for him."

"Oh," Arizona laughed. "I did. Well, I told her he was going to ask her and learned she would say yes. After I told him, he relaxed enough to ask her."

"That boy," Daniel laughed as they all stepped off the elevator.

Teddy was waiting for them when they got to the cafeteria. The Robbins were as close to family as she had anymore with her own parents having passed years before.

"Teddy!" Barbara grinned as she pulled Teddy into a tight hug. "Oh, honey, it's so good to see you. You look so good." She pulled back but kept her hands on Teddy's arms."

"It's wonderful to see you too, Barb," Teddy smiled back. "When Arizona mentioned you were coming, I hoped I'd get to see you."

"I would have had you court martialed, Major, if Barb and I came into town and you didn't see us," Daniel smiled. He and Teddy hugged a little more reservedly than Barbara and she did.

"I expect nothing less, sir," Teddy said. "Getting used to not being in uniform yet?"

"I still wake up every day and reach for it," Daniel chuckled. "You?"

"The scrubs make it a bit easier," Teddy chuckled. "I traded one uniform for another."

The group headed to grab something to eat before finding one of the longer tables to sit at. Arizona sat at the end with Callie and Teddy on one side and Barbara and Daniel on the other. Sofia happily sat in Arizona's lap while she munched on Cheerios that were on a plate in front of her.

"Arizona has been telling us all about her new life here," Barbara said as she looked across the table at Teddy. "What about you, Teddy?"

"Working too hard," Teddy admitted. "I'm working on some projects at the moment that are taking up a lot of my attention. But one is almost done, so I'll get a bit more free time."

"Working hard is important," Daniel nodded. "But so is not losing yourself in the work."

"We make sure to drag Teddy out now and then, Dad," Arizona stepped in before her father could give one of his famous speeches.

"I have my share of fun," Teddy promised with a smile.

"Are you seeing someone, Teddy?" Barbara asked when she saw the smile on her face.

"I am," Teddy admitted.

Callie and Arizona both perked up at the new information. They shared a look before they both turned to look at Teddy to see if she was going to give anymore information.

"He's a doctor here," Teddy said carefully. "The head of our trauma department."

"Owen?" Callie's eyes went a little wide.

"Oh, duh," Arizona said with a nod. "Of course you and Hunt end up together. Leave it to the two Army doctors to pair off."

"It helps," Teddy admitted. "He and I served together for a time. But mostly we were just friends. When we both ended up here, it was nice to have someone who understood what it was like to leave the military. We started spending more time together. He would bring me dinner in the lab on nights I was here late. It's pretty new, but I am very happy."

"Name, rank, and serial number," Daniel said with a stone face.

"Major Owen Hunt. That is all you're getting out of me for now, Colonel. I'll do pushups if I have to as punishment," Teddy laughed as the Colonel gave her a soft smile.

"We're happy for you," Barbara put her hand on her husband's arm.

"We are too," Callie added. "Owen is a great guy. Ortho and trauma get a lot of cases together. He's one of my favorites to work with."

"He's great with kids too," Arizona smirked.

"He is." Teddy rolled her eyes at her best friend's obvious hinting. "We both want kids, but this is very new. So, don't tease him too much? His face goes as red as his hair, and then he gets nervous."

Before Arizona could tease Teddy anymore than she had, Teddy, Callie and Arizona's pagers all went off at the same time. None were on call together so it had to be something big enough that two department heads and the best ortho attending in the hospital were being called in.

"A school bus and a city bus crashed into each other," Teddy said when she read the message on her pager. "It's all hands on deck."

"We'll take Sofia back to the hotel with us," Barbara offered.

"You don't have any of her stuff," Arizona pointed out as she got to her feet with Sofia in her arms.

"What if I give you the key to my place?" Callie said after thinking for a second. "Sofia's stuff is there. The fridge is full. You can get her bag and go see the city or hang out there until we can come and relieve you?"

Arizona fished her keys out while Callie was talking and handed the key to her father. "Thank you," She said before carefully handing Sofia off to her mother.

"Text us later," Barbara said as she cuddled her granddaughter close.

"Give them hell, girls," Daniel gave a nod before they all rushed off to get changed and head down to the ER.

/

Callie had been swamped for the last several hours. Both in the ER trying to help patch up who could be and on two different surgeries. She ducked into a supply closet to text Barbara to make sure Sofia was behaving herself and to try and find something to patch up the teenager in exam room two.

"Hey."

Callie turned around when she heard George's voice. They had worked together since the divorce, but it was always a little awkward when they didn't have someone else in the room. They really didn't have the option not to work together though with George heading toward trauma and her being in ortho.

"Hey, crazy out there, right?" Callie said before turning around to try and find what she was looking for.

"Yeah, it's crazy," George said. He ducked his head as he spoke and put his hand on one of the shelves. "I'm … I'm worried … I'm worried about you, Callie."

"Excuse me?" Callie turned around again to face him. "You're worried about me?"

George looked up but didn't make eye contact at first. He looked into her eyes before looking back away before speaking. "You are a good person. Kind. And being a good person sometimes you don't see when people are looking for something that you … you are a good person."

"George, I don't have the time or the energy for this right now." Callie crossed her arms over her chest. "So either spit it out or walk away."

George's eyes flashed to the floor before back up and then down again. "Arizona's a vampire."

"Well, spotted," Callie said dryly.

George rubbed at the back of his neck as he looked up at her. Not her face though, at the two marks on the left side of her neck. Marks that made it clear to other vampires and to humans that she was being fed on, that there was a vampire who claimed her enough to leave a mark visible to the world. "You let her bite you."

Callie snorted. She reached her hand up to trace the twin marks with the pad of her index finger. "I let her bite me every night, George. And frankly it's none of your business what I do with whom. We're divorced. Not that we had much of a marriage to divorce ourselves from."

"You are a good person," George said again, looking away from her. "You … you … you want to see the good in people. But she … she is a vampire. You can't just trust they will … you can't just trust them."

"Oh, because people are so trustworthy?" Callie asked in an icy tone.

"Callie," George said as he looked up at her. "I hurt you. I was unfaithful and unfair. I married you, and I shouldn't have and if I did I should have been better to you. I know I made mistakes. I know I did." He shifted on his feet and took a step towards her and his eyes flashed back to her neck. "But I didn't feed off your blood. I didn't get you pregnant and not bother calling you afterward. I didn't show up and charm my way into your bed. She has to be charming you. It's all happened too fast! She's dangerous."

Callie took a breath to steady herself. She didn't want to fight with George. She didn't want to have anything to do with George anymore, but he was sticking his nose into something that he had no business putting himself into. She wouldn't let him get away with that.

"I convinced myself that I was in love with you. I convinced myself that marrying you, trying to have a child for you, trusting Izzie Stevens even was what I needed. And you broke me. You broke my trust and my heart. You took Izzie to bed with my ring on your finger. You did that. You." Callie spoke in a low tone edged with ice. "And now you dare come to me and tell me that the best person I've ever been with is bad for me, dangerous for me, and our daughter? The daughter that is part her and part me. The daughter she has loved so fully since the moment I told her about Sofia. You dare to do that?"

"I don't want you to get hu-hurt again," George stammered as he kept his eyes glued on her shoes. He thought this would go so differently, but whatever he thought was clearly out the window.

"Arizona isn't charming me, George. She isn't making me do anything I don't want to do," Callie said as she stepped until she was within his personal space. "She is the first person I've ever been with who I haven't had to change myself for. Who I haven't needed to adjust to them and their preferences of how I act or talk or dress. She wants me as I am. And I want her as she is. Fangs and all."

George kept his head bent as Callie passed him. He wasn't sure he could say anything else to that. Callie made it perfectly clear how she felt about his protective side.

Callie stopped before opening the door. "She is Dr. Robbins and I am Dr. Torres if you need something. And you're just someone I used to know but don't anymore."

George heard the door open and shut before his head dropped again.

/

Teddy sat down next to Callie hours later. Arizona was in surgery in the OR below them. The ER was finally slow again and both were technically off the clock.

"Here." Teddy handed Callie a coffee.

"Thanks." Callie turned her head and smiled. "Daniel and Barbara are sleeping on the pullout at my place, so I figured I might as well stay and wait for Arizona before going home."

Teddy watched Arizona. Callie looked over at Teddy before back down at Arizona. Since she and Arizona had started to see each other, Teddy had been more than supportive of them both. She was a dear friend to Arizona, and Callie was quickly understanding how nice it could be to have a friend that hadn't known her since she was a messy resident.

"Tim would have liked you," Teddy said after a few moments.

"You think?" Callie asked.

"I know," Teddy said. She sipped at her still too hot coffee before holding the cup in her lap. "He would have come here as soon as he found out about Sofia. Took over Arizona's apartment to give her another reason to stay at yours. Not that she seems to need much help there," she noted as she turned to look at Callie again.

"I like having her close. For Sofia's sake, for her and mine too," Callie admitted as she shifted in the seat.

"The timing was never right. With Tim I mean," Teddy said after another few moments of watching Arizona work. "I was deployed or he was deployed nearly the whole time we knew each other. Passion turned friendship before either of us had a chance to stop the change. But he became one of my best friends. I needed that more than anyway."

"Everything Arizona says about him makes him sound incredible," Callie said.

"He was. He was a lot like Arizona. A bit less smiley but the kind of work he did would wear down a person's smile after a while. He was kind though. Warm. Charming. He was…" Teddy trailed off.

"A lot like Owen?" Callie supplied.

"A lot like Owen," Teddy nodded.

"Owen is a good man, Teddy. You should be happy, you deserve that," Callie said.

"There is a window in life when you have a chance with someone. I thought my window with Owen closed a long time ago. Like with Tim. Being with Owen now makes me wonder if Tim and my window wasn't as closed as I thought. Which just makes me feel guilty," Teddy explained with a sigh. "But Tim is gone, so it's not like I can ask him to dinner."

"No, you can't," Callie said. She reached over to pat Teddy's back comfortingly.

"Did Arizona ever tell you how I met her?" Teddy asked to shift the topic from the mental battle she was playing with herself to something less fraught.

"Tell me," Callie said.

"One of the few times we were both stateside at the same time, Tim brought me home for Thanksgiving. I met Arizona and all the sudden I had a best friend. So trust me, I get how fast Arizona can make herself a part of your life you can't or don't want to shake." Teddy laughed at the memory of meeting Arizona and the Robbins' clan for the first time. "She and I shared her old room. Her in a twin bed and me on a cot. It felt like high school which was what I needed at the time. It was a great week."

"That sounds pretty great," Callie smiled.

"Daniel and Barb took me in. My parents have been gone for years so they gave a standing offer for all holidays I needed somewhere to go. There is comfort to knowing you have a place to go even if it isn't home," Teddy said.

"You're always welcome at Arizona's and my table, Teddy," Callie said. She reached over and took Teddy's hand for a moment. "Sofia's going to need her Aunt Teddy around. Plus, if you're over I can put football on without Arizona rolling her eyes too much."

"How are things between the two of you?" Teddy asked. "When I ask Arizona, she usually just smiles really wide and says awesome."

"We're looking for a house," Callie admitted. "Things have just slid into place. As much as I love the apartment, we both want a space we can make ours together."

"Arizona and Tim never got to put down roots. Not real ones." Teddy had grown up with a father who was home every night and a mother who had dinner on the table. Sometimes she wished she had the kind of change growing up Arizona grew to dislike. "She's committed. To you, to Sofia, to Seattle."

"Yeah, I know," Callie smiled at how much comfort that thought brought her. "I'm committed to her."

Arizona looked up at the gallery just after she finished closing; she waved at them both before going to scrub out. Callie and Teddy left the gallery together but turned different ways. Teddy went to change out of her scrubs while Callie went down to see her girlfriend.

By the time Callie got down to the scrub room, Arizona was already scrubbed out. She stood in the hallway with her back against the wall and her eyes closed. She was so still that Callie wondered if she somehow fell asleep.

"We need to go to my apartment," Arizona said without opening her eyes.

"Your apartment?" Callie questioned.

"Yes." Arizona turned her head to look at Callie. Her fangs were down and her eyes a dark blue; they usually only turned when she was hungry or horny. "If I feed on you here, we'll have every nurse talking about it by morning. And my parents are at your apartment."

"Oh," Callie said with both eyebrows shooting up. She had been around a hungry Arizona but there was something different about her now. A ravenous look that she hadn't seen before in Arizona's eyes. "Change before we leave?"

"No," Arizona's voice was low. "We need to leave or you're going to see a very different side of me that I try very hard to keep tight control over."

Callie stepped forward even with the hunger in Arizona's eyes. She tangled their fingers together before tugging Arizona toward the locker room. They didn't have to change but she needed to grab her bag and the keys to her SUV.

The drive to her apartment was the longest fifteen minutes of Arizona's life. She was still in control of herself, she had only skipped one meal really, but she had gotten used to her regular feedings. Her hand in Callie's was helping to ground her but making her more needy for her girlfriend's blood.

Once they were safely inside of Arizona's apartment, the pair headed to the kitchen. For as hungry as Arizona was, she wouldn't feed on Callie without feeding her first. She took some eggs and cheese out to make Callie a scramble with some peppers and onions.

"I can do that if you want to sit," Callie offered.

"I need to do something, so I don't pin you to a wall," Arizona said with her back to Callie. She started to chop the onions and peppers, so she could cook them down a bit.

Callie took a seat at the table and just watched Arizona move around the kitchen. "I want a big kitchen. When we get a house, I want us to have a nice big kitchen where we can cook together."

"I'd like that," Arizona agreed without turning around. She stirred the peppers and onions before adding a bit of salt and pepper. "I'd want a study too. A place you and I can work from home when we can, so we don't always have to stay late at the hospital."

"A big backyard," Callie said as she thought of the list of wants. "So, Sofia can run around and tire herself out. With some trees, so you can be out there and not be directly in the sun."

"I can be in the sun," Arizona turned to look at Callie. She hadn't pulled her fangs back. With how hungry she was it was too much effort.

"Can and want to are different," Callie pointed out. "We need a big master bedroom and bathroom too."

"I want a big tub we can both fit in. Warm water and you sounds like heaven after a long day," Arizona turned back to the stove and checked on the food before turning back to Callie. "Honestly, Calliope, I just want a place that is ours."

"How many bedrooms?" Callie asked.

"Five?" Arizona suggested.

"Five?" Callie raised an eyebrow.

"One for us, one for Sofia, a guest room and room to grow," Arizona nodded.

"Room to grow is good," Callie agreed. "Two rooms to grow our family is reasonable."

Arizona added the eggs to the pan with a small smile on her lips. She mixed it up and turned back to Callie while it cooked. "I don't want Sofia to grow up as an only child. Maybe we only have one more, maybe two. But I don't want us to have to move if we don't want to."

"I grew up in the same house from when I was three to eighteen. I'd like that for Sofia too. I know you moved around a lot, and it doesn't sound like you loved it. I want to give you a home too," Callie said.

"You've already given me a home, Calliope." Arizona plated the food and brought it over to Callie. She set the plate and a fork down before going to get Callie some water.

"Thank you," Callie said before digging in.

"It's the least I can do," Arizona said as she sat on the other side of the table. "You're about to feed me, so I should feed you."

Callie ate without talking. She was hungry herself and knew the sooner she finished the sooner Arizona could feed and they could get some sleep before going back to her place to see Sofia and to give Barbara and Daniel relief from baby duty.

"I'll meet you in the bedroom." Arizona instructed when Callie had just about finished.

Callie finished the last bite as Arizona walked through the living room and into her bedroom. She washed the dishes before she headed to the bedroom.

Callie was only a step or two inside the bedroom when she felt herself pinned up against the wall. She could feel Arizona's body almost vibrating against hers as her control slipped away.

"Take what you need." Callie managed to say calmly.

Arizona growled low in her chest as she nuzzled at the left side of Callie's neck where her bite was. She kept Callie pinned against the wall, her right hand pinning Callie's left as her right palmed Callie's hip.

"Mine."

"Yours."

Arizona bit down on Callie's neck before leaning more of her weight against her to keep her fully against the wall.

Callie moaned at the feelings coursing through her body. She knew from experience that Arizona had the ability to make this pleasurable, but she wasn't doing that now. Not the kind of orgasmic pleasure that she often did. Right now, Arizona wasn't doing anything but feeding from her. Taking from her. Bleeding her to survive. It was somehow almost more exciting than the magical pleasure Arizona could create in her.

Arizona kept Callie against the wall for no more than two minutes. She might have needed this, but she couldn't take too much blood without having to take measures she refused to without talking to Callie first. It was one thing to feed from Callie, but it was another to take steps that couldn't easily, or in the case of a mating bite ever, be undone.

After she licked Callie's neck to close the bite, Arizona helped Callie to the bed before laying down on top of her.

Callie wrapped an arm loosely around Arizona's waist while the other went to rest on the back of her neck. She had gotten very used to post feeding Arizona and her desire to lay as close as possible.

"Are you alright?"

"I am," Callie promised. "You didn't take too much."

Arizona turned her head to kiss the right side of Callie's neck. She breathed in the scent of Callie as her eyes shut. "I don't usually get to a point where I need to pin you to a wall."

"When I tell you that I don't mind, believe me," Callie chuckled softly. "I'm not scared of you, Arizona. You make me feel so many things, but fear is not among them."

Arizona kissed Callie's neck again. "I love you."

"And I love you." Callie stroked the back of Arizona's neck.

Arizona shifted so she could look down at Callie. She opened her mouth to say something before closing it again. She bent down and kissed Callie softly before rolling off, so she could cuddle to her side. "Get some sleep. We have to be back to your place in a few hours. I'll wake you when it's time."

"Alright," Callie said. She could tell Arizona wanted to say something, but for now she let it go. She didn't bother to change or even get under the blanket. She closed her eyes and held Arizona tight to her as she drifted off.

"Happy birthday, Arizona," Barbara said when Arizona and Callie walked into the apartment the next morning. The couch was already folded back up, Sofia had been given a bath, and a full breakfast was waiting.

"Thanks, Mom," Arizona smiled as she and Callie walked over to greet Sofia.

"We know you don't really need to eat anymore, but we've made you pancakes every year for your birthday that we've been together," Daniel said as he set a stack on the table. "Plus, the rest of us need to eat."

"Everything looks great," Callie smiled as she saw the bacon, pancakes and fresh fruit on the table.

"We hope you don't mind, Callie," Barbara said as she poured them each a cup of coffee. "We kind of took over your kitchen."

"I don't mind at all," Callie smiled with Sofia in her arms. "How was she for you yesterday?"

"She was perfect," Daniel smiled. He took a cup of black coffee for himself. "She looked around for the two of you, but we managed to remember how to occupy a toddler for a night."

"Thank you both for watching her," Arizona said. She took Sofia from Callie to get a minute of snuggles in. "I really hate when something big happens, and she has to be at daycare. But it's better than having nowhere for her to go."

"We wanted to talk to you about that," Barbara said as they all sat down at the table.

"Your mother and I have been talking," Daniel started. "With how terrible Boston winters can be and with you having a family now, we are considering a move."

"To Seattle?" Arizona's eyes widened.

"We want to be part of Sofia's life. And yours too," Barbara said. They started passing the food around so everyone could take what they wanted. "The consulting work your father does can be done anywhere. And I can find a knitting group in Seattle."

Arizona looked over at Callie to see if she was freaking out before realizing when she wasn't. "That would be really great," she said with a smile. "Sofia would be able to grow up having you around, and we get free babysitting."

"Yes, free babysitting is why we're moving to the other side of the country," Daniel chuckled. "When you two decide to buy a house, we'll find one close by and make the move."

"With my father in Miami, it will be nice for Sofia to have a set of grandparents in town," Callie said. She reached under the table to put her hand on Arizona's thigh. The idea her mother had never so much as met Sofia, yet Arizona's parents were willing to move to the other side of the country for her stung.

"Plus, all that free babysitting," Barbara laughed softly. "For Sofia and any siblings."

"Mom," Arizona sighed. "Give us time before you have Calliope popping out another one, yeah?"

"You can't blame me for trying." Barbara waved her daughter off.

"There will be more kids, one day," Callie said as she rubbed Arizona's thigh under the table. "But Arizona's right. We need to find a house, move, maybe look at a few other options for us before we get there."

"Other options?" Daniel asked.

Arizona held Sofia a little tighter. "Marriage. Human and vampire style."

It was Barbara and Daniel's turn to look at each other and have a wordless conversation.

"Well, when the two of you are ready for that, I've thought about walking you down the aisle your whole life," Daniel said as he looked at his wife and then back to his daughter. "I'll just have to have my dress uniform pressed."

"It won't be for awhile," Arizona reached under the table to take Callie's hand in hers. "But one day."

"One day," Callie smiled a brilliant smile at Arizona.
