Scream V (2022) My Version
Chapter Eleven: Questions & Answers
The janitor who has been cleaning the school since two fifty that afternoon makes his way downstairs. He had already cleaned the five floors of the high school from the floor five all the way down to the first. He cleaned all of the classrooms as well as the principal's office.
It was now time to focus on the bottom two floors. One being the and locker rooms then the basement.
He entered the weight room to clean it. He was listening to music when he noticed a duffel bag and a towel. He walked over to it.
"Damn kids." He complained. "Anyone here?" He called out but got no response. "Shit." He begins moving towards the locker room and begins to look around. "Hello!! Anyone in here? I have your towel. Can't dry off without it." He said attempting a joke. He walks until he steps in a wet puddle. "What the hell?" He asked to no one looking down at the puddle. It was red, thick and a lot of it. "What is this spilled juice?" He leans down to get a closer look and then notices a trail. "What the fuck is this?" He asks again deciding to follow the trail. "Shit I think this is blood." He said to himself continuing to follow the trail which led out to the goal post on the football field. "OH SHIT!!!" He exclaimed horrified at the sight of David's mutilated corpse. He runs to the principal's office to use the phone calling the sheriff's department.

Within thirty minutes, Sheriff Hicks and her deputies with the exception of Deputy Vincent arrived at the high school and quickly quarned off the area. Sheriff Hicks makes her way towards the football field and sees David's dead body. The crime scene team is investigating.
"Oh not another one." She said shocked.
"I know this kid." Came the voice of another deputy.
"Dead student. His name is David Dukeford, seventeen years old football player. Stabbed twice and then his throat was cut." Deputy Farn said.
"Yeah I'm familiar with who he is. Shit." Exclaimed Sheriff Judy. "He's the nephew of the Beckers. This is gonna be hard to tell them."
"The Beckers, wasn't their daughter murdered twenty-two years ago?" Deputy Fatn asked.
"Yes. And now their nephew." Sheriff Hicks said looking at the young teen.
"He wasn't killed here." Deputy Wagner said. Both deputy Farn and Sheriff Hicks turned to him. "See the drag marks. It's likely he was killed in the locker room and then dragged out here to be hung up."
"This town truly is cursed." Deputy Farn said. They hear the commotion of the press outside of the police barricades. "Oh great the media mouths are here." He said.
"Gather up as much evidence as you can. I'm gonna break the news to the Beckers." Sheriff Hicks said as she walks away. As she nears the barricade to head to her vehicle, a reporter comes up to the barricade and decides to ask some questions.
"Sheriff Hicks, what happened? Was another person murdered?" The reporter asked.
"No comment." Sheriff Hicks said.
"My sources tell me the victim is a student name David Dukesford." Said the reporter. Sheriff Hicks stops in her tracks.
"Who told you that?" Sheriff Hicks asked.
"I can't reveal my sources." The reporter responded. Sheriff Hicks turns and heads to her vehicle, got in and drove off. Something struck her about the media. Gale weathers wasn't there. How odd.

Chad and Mindy both made his way into the local diner he and his classmates as well as the town folks frequent. Wes, Amber, Nate, Stacy and Liv are all there at a table in the back with the coach. He wonders what's going on. It was Nate who called him and asked him to come to the diner.
"Hey, what's going on?" Chad asked. No one spoke but eyed him and Mindy suspiciously.
"What is it guys?" Mindy asked.
"You haven't heard have you?" Wes asked.
"Heard what?" Chad asked.
"David is dead asshole." Mike said.
"What?!" Mindy asked shocked.
"He was stabbed twice and his throat was cut." Mike said angered.
"The fuckin janitor found him on the goal post of the football field." Nate said.
"Oh shit!" Mindy exclaimed.
"Oh shit is right." Stacy said.
"That's crazy I saw him and he was alive when I left him." Chad said.
"Alive when you left him huh?!" Mike asked getting in Chad's face.
"Hey what's your fucking problem?" Chad asked yelling.
"My fucking problem is that you and your psycho sister probably killed him thats what." Mike yelled shoving Chad.
"FUCK YOU!" Chad yelled shoving him back. Wes and Nate stood up to break them up. Mike shoves Wes' hand away while Nate keeps Chad back.
"Fuck you Mike. We didn't kill anybody!" Mindy yelled.
"He was still alive when I left." Chad said defending himself.
"This doesn't make sense. Why kill David I mean he's not from woodsboro." Liv said.
"No but his cousin was." Amber said.
"Who was his cousin?" Stacy asked.
"Casey Becker." Amber said as they all looked at her. "I thought you all knew that."
"No we didn't." Wes said as Amber shrugged.
"How is that possible? I mean didn't she get killed ages ago?" Liv asked.
"Yes and it was twenty two years ago. Her mother's youngest sister died and David was sent to live with the Beckers." Amber said. Mindy's eyes go wide. An idea hits her. She thinks she may know what's going on but doesn't say it out loud.
"I'm sorry he's gone but I didn't kill him." Chad said.
"Wes what did your mom say?" Stacy asked.
"She hasn't told me anything yet." Wes said. "When I know something I'll share it with you guys."
"Thanks." Nate said. "In the meantime let's not play the blame game until we know what's up ok?" Nate asked looking at Mike.
"Whatever." Mike said turning his head away from the group. He was pissed that his buddy was dead and worse off didn't know who did it. He suspected that it was Chad and Mindy but had no concrete evidence to back up his suspicions. Chad being the last one to see him alive isn't evidence that he killed David. They'd just have to let the sheriff do her job.

Dewey's car pulled into the parking lot of the Sheriff's station. He had thought about what he and Sheriff Hicks talked about and decided to help her with the investigation. He spots a car pulling up to the station. Out stepped the Beckers. He wondered what they were doing there.
They had aged twenty two years since the death of their daughter and now their nephew. Ever since his younger sister died, Mr. Becker had been a workaholic. Now their nephew had suffered the same fate. Mrs. Becker was crying her eyes out.
Dewey shook his head. He knew the lost of a loved one was traumatizing. For the Beckers to suffer two different murders in two different time periods was hard to fathom. He spots another vehicle. A familiar one. One he had become accustomed to. It was Gale's correspondence van from the network she worked with. Although she lived in New York City, Gale would cover this case. Dewey spots her getting out of the van about to cover the story when he decides to leave before she can spot him.

Sam is sitting on the chair beside Tara's bed. The young injured teen had been moved to another more private room of the hospital to keep her safe. Ben and Christine had wanted this for their daughters. Richie having decided to head to the hotel and get a shower had gone to grab some food before heading back to the hospital. The news reporter is on the tv talking about another murder. The reporter mentions David's name and who his guardians were. Ben and Christine listened along with Sam. All three turn to Tara who was sound asleep. Sam thinks she might know what's going on. She looks off into the distance thinking.
"First Tara was attacked, this Vince guy was murdered and now David. Something isn't right." Sam's mind is racing. She's trying to figure out what's going on. Christine sees and wonders what her daughter is thinking.
"What's going on mija?" Christine asks.
"Something isn't right. There's two people dead and me and Tara were both attacked. This isn't adding up." Sam said. "Do you think this is ghostface's doing this?"
"We're not sure honey." Ben said.
"Ok so why attack Tara and me? We had nothing to do with what happened two decades ago. Tara said she was attacked by someone in a ghostface costume and I was attacked by the same person." Sam said.
"We know baby." Christine said.
"You two were there when this first started to happen right?" Sam asked. Ben and Sam looked over at each other.
"Yes sweetheart but we weren't there during the murders if that's what you're asking." Ben said.
"If this happened to Sidney and Billy Loomis, and these attacks and killings are ghost face related then we need an expert to help us." Sam said thinking. "Who could be a ghost face expert in town?"
"Other than the sheriff herself, the only other person is Dewey Riley." Ben said. Sam sat back thinking a moment. If she could talk to him and get him to help her they could solve this case before anymore people get hurt. Both her parents look at each other and then her and Tara.

Having delivered the bad news to the Beckers, Sheriff Hicks learned that Martha's eldest son Zeke was back in town. She recalled how troubled Zeke was when he was living here. What was he doing back in town. She decides to visit and have a quick chat with him. Her car arrived at the Meeks'Martin residence then exits her car. She goes over to the door and rings the doorbell. Martha opens up the door.
"Oh hello Sheriff Hicks." Martha greets.
"Good evening Martha, may I come in?" Sheriff Hicks asked.
"Sure." Martha said seeming a little hesitant. Sheriff Hicks entered the home moving towards the living room.
"I understand your son is home?" Sheriff Hicks asked.
"Yes he's home. What's going on?" Martha asked.
"I was wondering if I could ask him some questions." Sheriff Hicks asked.
"He's not in trouble is he?" Martha asked worried.
"No I just have a few questions for him that's all." Sheriff Hicks said.
"Hey ma, we're out of peanut butter." Zeke says walking into the living room. "Sheriff, what brings you here?" He asked.
"Welcome home Zeke." Sheriff Hicks asked. Zeke nods suspiciously.
"The sheriff here has some questions to ask you." Martha said.
"What kind of questions?" Zeke asked.
"When did you arrive in town?" Sheriff Hicks asked.
"Yesterday morning." Zeke answered truthfully.
"Where did you go?" Sheriff asked.
"Let's see, when I arrived in town, I stopped for something to eat at Dave's, then I went to the high school to watch my little brother and sister during their lunch break. I wanted to make sure they're ok. Then I went to the pool hall and I stayed there until night time." Zeke recalled.
"Did you happen to see Vince Schneider there?" Sheriff Hicks asked.
"Is that the gruffy looking guy who pulled a knife out on my brother?" Zeke asked.
"What?!" Martha asked. "Oh my god."
"Don't worry ma, I handled it." Zeke said reassuring her that he could take care of his siblings.
"And by handled it you mean kill him?" Sheriff Hicks asked.
"No." Zeke responds.
"My son wouldn't kill anyone Sheriff." Martha said defending him.
"I had to ask considering what you put your family through when you was last here." Sheriff Hicks said.
"Ok I'll admit I was a handful when I was a kid but that was the past. The only thing I did to Vince was disarm him and keep him from killing my brother." Zeke said angrily. Sheriff Hicks eyed him icily. Zeke returned the stare. "Now if there are no other questions I'd like you to leave." Zeke said. Sheriff Hicks nods and heads for the door. She exits the premises.
"Are you alright honey?" Martha asked.
"Yeah I'm alright." Zeke said. He headed back into the kitchen.
