Scream V (2022) My Version

Chapter Twenty-Five: Father & Daughter Meet

Having had to tell his wife about his teenage infidelity, Billy left the hotel after his argument. He knew Sidney was hurt and rightly so. He had cheated on her when they were teenagers and subsequently fathered a child. A child Billy had no idea existed. Still, he hurt her deeply and he had to figure a way to make it up to her. Sidney is the love of his life and they'd be together forever.

Billy ended up at the same cafe he and Christine were at earlier. He had decided to grab some coffee while he sat a wallowed in his guilt. His thoughts had been running a mile a minute but was interrupted by the sound a familiar voice. It was Sam. Having cried her outs, she had ran out of the house after her father wanting to talk to him. She didnt want to talk to her mother. She was angry and hurt. She knew Ben was hurt at the revelation and wanted to check on him. She could not find him.

Billy turned to the counter to see her asking the waitress if she seen her father. The waitress said she didn't. Billy wanted to talk to Sam for a little while. She was about to leave when Billy decides to stop her. This was his chance talk to her.

"Hey Sam." Billy said to her. She stopped in her tracks looking right into the eyes of the man who gave her life.

"Hi Mr. Loomis." Sam said. "I'm looking for my dad. Have you seen him?" She asked.

"No. I haven't." I was wondering if we could talk for a moment?" Billy asked. Sam felt a little uneasy about this.

"I don't know. I'm trying to find him." Sam responds.

"I'm guessing your mom told him the truth." Billy said.

"Yeah she did." Sam said.

"I just wanna talk for a few minutes." Billy said. "Please?" He asked pleading.

"Sure. I have a few questions anyway." Sam said sitting down with him at the booth. Both sat in an uncomfortable silence neither knowing how to start this conversation. Sam decided to wait for him to say something.

"Sam I know this must be awkward for you. It's a bit weird for me to." Billy said as Sam frowned a bit. "Not that having a daughter is weird. What's weird is finding out about you after twenty years." He continued. Sam nods. "If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to answer them." He said. She didn't respond. "How did you find out?"

"I overheard them arguing. In fact my sister and I along with my boyfriend overheard the whole conversation." Sam said.

"I see." Billy said to her. "You can ask me anything go ahead."

"Ok. Were you and mom in the same classes together?" Sam asked.

"No. Your mom and Ben were a grade under me." Billy said as Sam nods.

"Did you and my mom date in high school?" She asked.

"No." Billy said honestly.

"So you just slept with her?" Sam asked.

"Yes. It was right about the time Sid's mother was killed. Christine was attracted to me and I liked her but I loved Sidney and as a idiot teenager, we had unprotected sex. I had no idea she was pregnant with you." Billy said to her. Sam listened.

"If you had known about me, what would you have done?" Sam asked. She wondered what Billy would've done had he been alerted to the fact that he was a father.

"I would've fought hard to be apart of your life. With this whole ghost face thing. I would've found a way to keep you and your mother safe." Billy said to her. Sam had to admit Billy seems to be a good man. He seemed genuine with his feelings and was being completely honest.

"Did you hate my dad?" She asked him.

"No. Ben was good guy. He loves Christine." Billy said. Sam nods. "You are a beautiful young woman. Christine and Ben did a great job raising you." Billy said smiling. Sam smiled awkwardly.

"Thanks." Sam said to him. "Do you have children?" She asked.

"Yes. Sid and I have three boys. Nineteen year old twins William and Scott. Then there's our seven year old son Sean." Billy said. Sam nods realizing she has brothers.

"Can I ask you about ghost face?" Sam asked.

"Sure." Billy said.

"Is it true that it's always someone in the friend group?" Sam asked. She was trying to determine if she still trusted Richie.

"Yes." Billy said. "Christine tells me your sister Tara has a group of friends who she goes to school with?"

"Yes. I know them." Sam said.

"Tell me about them?" Billy asked.

"Well, Nate is a musician wannabe, Stacy is an wannabe influencer, Mike is an idiot, Wes was a nice guy and David was a football player on the football team with Chad. Mindy are cool. Liv I don't know about her. Amber is a bitch who cheated on my sister. She might be a killer. I don't know." She said. Billy smirks.

"So you don't like Amber?" Billy asked smirking. He knew youngesters didn't get along sometimes. Sam smirked shaking her head no.

"What about your boyfriend?" Billy asked. He remembers Christine telling him about her boyfriend. Sam looked at him wondering how he knew about Richie. "Your mom told me about him. And you mentioned him."

"What about him?" Sam asked. Billy stared at her for a moment wondering if her boyfriend could be involved in these murders.

"Never mind." Billy said.

"Look I have to go find my dad. It was nice talking to you." Sam said getting up to leave.

"Would you like me to help you?" Billy asked her.

"No. It's ok. Thanks." She said walking out. Billy watched her a moment feeling bad. He knew she felt awkward about this situation. It was awkward for him as well. But now that he knows he has another child, he would do everything he could to protect her.

Back at the hotel, Gale was working on her lab top typing up her story about the current murders. Sidney meanwhile kept looking at her phone. More specifically oh photos of her and Billy. She began to reminisce about her and Billy as teenagers. She remembered the first time they met, their first date, first kiss, all the times they talked. She began to miss him badly. She knew he made a mistake and that they were kids back then but still, cheating on your partner was wrong. Sidney signed deeply trying to determine if she could forgive Billy for his indiscretions.

Gale looked up at her from her computer and felt for her. The young woman who had been an adversary turned sister in law had come a long way. She had watched Billy and Sidney go from typical boyfriend and girlfriend to husband and wife. The two have been together ever since spawning three boys. She was impressed with their resolve and their long term relationship. She knew Billy to be a good man and would vouch for him.

"You should forgive him." Gale said to her. Sidney looked over at her. "He loves you."

"I know." Sidney said.

"I'm gonna tell you something and I want you to listen ok?" Gale asked. Sidney nods. "Ok. Ever since I first met you and Billy, I've been impressed with the two of you." Sidney looked at Gale shocked. She had no idea that she felt this way. "Even Tatum impressed me. You and Billy kept your love going through everything you've two have had to deal with. You two have protected each other and have had each other's backs through it all. So he did something stupid when he was teenager. News flash, teens do stupid shit. Hence the term 'young and dumb'." Gale said then taking a breathe. "Look, Billy is a good man and has been a loyal husband this whole time. He derserves to be forgiven." She finally finished.

"I'll think about it Gale." Sidney said.

"What's there to think about?" You love him don't you?" Gale asked.

"Of course I do." Sidney responds.

"Ok then. Move on from this. We got bigger things to deal with." Gale said as Sidney stared straight ahead. She was right. One hand the indiscretion happened twenty years ago. They did have other things to worry about…like finding out who killed Dewey, Wes, David, Vince and Sheriff Hicks.

Back at the Carpenter's house, Tara was texting Chad on her phone when she received an invite to Amber's party. She decided to ignore it.

Sam had returned home unsuccessful in finding her father. Well technically she did find her father. Her biological father. She hasn't found Ben. She sighed deeply sitting on the couch.

"Hey you ok?" Richie asked her brining her bottle of water. Sitting beside her.

"Yeah." Sam said.

"No luck finding your dad huh?" He asked. Sam thought about that for a moment. Christine looked on listening as she made food for Tara.

"Yes and no." Sam said as Richie looked in confused. "I didn't find my dad but I got to talk to Billy Loomis." She said. Richie nods understanding what she met with her response.

"Sam are you hungry? I'm fixing some dinner." Christine asked her.

"No thanks." Sam said not looking her mother. She was mad at her and probably would be for a long time. Christine knew Sam wasn't ready to have this conversation so she'd leave the subject alone until Sam was ready to talk.

Christine continued to listen Sam and Richie's conversation and knew that she'd have to have the same talk with Sam as she did Ben. She decided to wait until this whole ghost face murder situation was over. She continued to listen as Sam explained her conversation with Billy to Richie. Tara listened as we'll wondering what was going to happen. She realized Sam was now her half sister. What was to happen to their relationship?
