Chapter Twenty-Nine: Sam & Tara Talk

While in the car heading towards Amber's house, Richie is the one driving. Sam is sitting next to him in the passenger seat. Tara is in the backseat. Neither said anything for a while. Deciding to break the tension, Sam speaks.

"What made you want to attend Amber's party?" Sam asked.

"I just want some normalcy. I was tired of being in the hospital, tired of being confined. I just want to live my life again." Tara explained.

"Nothing says normalcy like a party." Sam said.

"Yes." Tara said.

"You do know there's still a killer on the loose right?" Sam asked.

"Yeah but there's strength in numbers. Do you really think a killer will try to harm us at a party filled with drunk horney teenagers?" Tara asked.

"Probably not." Sam said.

"Besides, don't change the subject. I'm still disappointed in you." Tara said.

"Why?" Sam asked.

"Because you betrayed papi." Tara responded.

"No. Mommy betrayed papi." Sam said.

"Ok she did but so did you." Tara said.

"You mean because I spoke with Billy?" Sam asked.

"Yes." Tara said as Richie listened.

"Tara look, I'm not betraying papi. Look at it from my perspective. I've spent my whole life thinking papi was my father only for mom to reveal she cheated on him in high school and had me. I just learned this information. How am I supposed to feel about this?" Sam asked. Tara listened softening. "This whole situation has me confused, angry, hurt. I feel lied to my whole life. You tell me is that fair to me?" She asked her.

"No it's not." Tara said. "I guess I can see how you'd be effected by this."

"Thank you. I promise I'm not betraying papi. I still love him." Sam said. Tara smiled at her. She was right. Tara could see how Sam would be effected by the turn of events. At first she thought Sam was turning her back in the man they raised her and who was believed to be her father only to learn that he isn't. She had to see the situation from Sam's point of view. Her life was rocked to her very core. How was she to deal with revelation that Ben wasn't her father? Tara sympathized with her.

Back at Amber's party, everyone is dancing having a good time. Mike is dancing with two girls. Nathan and Stacy are dancing close. Mindy has her arm around the same girl she made out with. Chad is dancing but is dancing while watching Liv who was dancing with another guy. He moved away from the dance floor to be alone. He couldn't understand why she didn't like him. He's a good guy. He noticed her going to the kitchen to get a drink. He decides to go to the kitchen to talk to her.

Liv was sweating from all the dancing she was doing. She decided to get something to drink while fanning her face. She noticed Chad coming over to her and frowned hard. Couldn't this guy take a hint? She wasn't into him and yet he kept pursuing her. She sees him standing next to her about to say something. She rolled her eyes and walked away.

"Hey Liv." Chad said to her as he watched her walk away from him. Chad sighed and went back to his little corner to sulk. It fucking sucks to be rejected but that was life.

Meanwhile Mindy was getting some action in another corner of the living room. She and a young teen she had been dancing with were making out. Mindy stuck her hand down the girl's shirt feeling her up as the two kissed. The girl had her hand between Mindy's legs. It was definitely getting hot between the two. Watching them was Mike who found himself getting aroused by the scene. He knew both girls were lesbians would not invite him into their little make out session so he just watched like a cheesy creepo.
