Chapter Thirty-Two: Chad's Ordeal

Richie's Prius pulls up to Amber's house. There are still party goers hanging around but some have already left. Sam exits the vehicle and helps Tara out of the car. All three make their way into Amber's house. They notice all the teens around drinking. Some are smoking weed, cigarettes and some are even making out. Liv and Stacy see them.

"Hey Amber." Liv calls to her. Amber turns to her. "Look who finally made it." She said turning their attention the door. She looks over towards the door and spots Sam, Richie and Tara using her crutches.

"Hey Tara." Amber going over to her and gently hugging her. "Sam, Richie right?" She asked.

"Yes. Good to see you again." She nods.

"Thanks for inviting us." Sam said. Amber nods again.

"You guys thirsty?" Amber asked.

"Yes thanks." Tara said.

"Liv do me a favor get some beers please?" Amber shouted to her.

"No problem." Liv said getting up off the couch to get three bottles of beer.

"Come on." Amber said walking with Tara to the living room. Mindy makes room on the couch for Tara to sit. Tara greeted some of her classmates who were happy to see her. Someone else was happy to see her. Chad.

Chad who had come back into the house after spending some alone time reflecting on his pursuit of Liv McKenzie was happy to see Tara. He been turned down by Liv in the most insulting way possible and it bothered him. He'd decided that he was not going to chase her anymore. He would instead chase Tara. He smiled to himself happy she was there.

"Sup girl." Stacy said greeting Tara.

"Hey. How's the party so far?" Tara asked.

"About as well as you might think." Liv said.

"Has anyone seen Nathan or Mike?" Stacy asked.

"I don't know where Nathan went but Mike is taking a shit." Mindy said as they laughed. Amber made herself comfortable next to Tara who looked a little uncomfortable. Everyone noticed this but Amber.

"How you feeling?" Amber asked Tara.

"I'm getting better thanks." Tara said politely but feeling very awkward. Suddenly they hear a crash from the kitchen. Everyone turned to see a teen looking down at the mess he made.

"Son of a bitch!" Amber said getting up from the couch and heading for the kitchen. "What the hell Jordan?!" She yelled at him.

"Sorry Amber." He can be heard saying. Chad sits next to Tara.

"Hey you." He said.

"Hey." Tara smiles back at Chad.

"How are you?" Chad asked.

"Doin better. Thanks for asking."Tara said to him.

"Anytime." Chad said. "How's it going Sam?" Chad asked. "Sup Richie." He greets them.

"Sup." Richie said as Sam nods. Liv decides to leave the room helping Amber clean up the mess.

"So how's everything on the Liv front?" Tara asked him. She knew no one could hear their conversation.

"She made it clear I don't have a chance in hell with her." Chad said to her.

"Well then you should move on." Tara said.

"Yeah I guess. Who the hell would want me?" Chad asked feeling down about Liv not wanting to be with him.

"Chad don't get down on yourself. You're a good looking guy. There is a girl out there for you. Don't worry you'll find her." Tara said to him. Chad stared at her. Both had shared a moment at the hospital and they did have a great conversation at the Carpenter house. He was starting to realize that maybe she was right person for him. He should move on and the person he should move with was her.

"Or I already found her." He said as both looked at each other. Both smiled at each other shyly. Unbeknownst to them, someone was watching them. It was Amber.

Richie had taken Sam's hand to dance with her. Liv had gone outside to get some air. Mindy continued drinking her beer.

Tara gets up to head to the bathroom. Chad assisted her making sure she is ok. While he waits on her to get out of the bathroom, he gets a text from who he thinks is Liv. He gets up and heads outside of the house. He remembered that Liv had went outside to get some air. He knows this because he saw her leave after helping Amber to clean up the mess made by their classmate Jordan. Chad also remembered what Liv said to him after Nathan had convinced him to ask her out again. He was skeptical but against his better judgment he decided to go outside and talk to her. He at least wanted to know why she didn't like him. He gets outside and begins walking towards the side of the house. It's getting late. Chad looks around. No Liv. Texts her again:

"Liv, where are you?" He asks looking around. She doesn't answer. "If this is you fucking with me, you can fuck off?!" He shouts to the air hoping she heard him. Finally there are dots on his phone indication Liv writing back...

Come find me and make it up to me.

Chad frowns. About to text back when a notification pops up. Liv has accepted your find my friends request share location. Chad smiles. Opens the Find My Friends app and clicks accept. According to this, Liv is 110 feet away.

"All right, let's go. She can make it up to me." Chad thought to himself. He steps towards the road, scanning for Liv. The map on his phone re-orients, he was moving the wrong way. He steps back towards the house. 80 feet away now.

Chad moves to the right. Approaching the corner of the house that we saw Liv go around. 60 feet.

Chad continues around the side of the house. Darker here. Trips over a garden hose. 30 feet. 20. 10...

He comes upon a strange sight - a pile of leaves with a boot peeking out. He looks at the phone. 2 feet away.

Chad starts clearing away the leaves. He thinks he's going to find Liv's butchered corpse under there...

"Um... Liv?" Chad asks as he gets closer to who he thinks is Liv. He gets closer to the body beneath... closer...

Oh fuck! it's Ghostface! He stabs Chad in the knee! CRACK! Chad clocks him in the head with the candlestick. Ghostface falls back, dazed!

In spite of his wound, Chad wails on Ghostface, using his midsection as a punching bag! Turns and bolts back towards the house, towards safety, bleeding like a stuck pig...

Chad makes it to the side of house turning off his location he so he couldn't be found. Bleeding badly, Chad looks at his bleeding wound and stifles a cry. He tries opening up his phone but his hand is slipper due to the blood on it. He finally manages to get it unlocked to find the location of who he thought was Liv but it turned out to be ghost face. Chad looks around but doesn't see ghost face. He decides he's gonna make a run for it but is still blooding heavily. Mustering up the courage, Chad sprints for the front of the house to safety but to his surprised ghost face springs from the shed running behind Chad and catching up to him. Chad is tackled to the ground where ghost face proceeds to stab him at least seven times to his torso and abdomen. Chad coughs up blood twitching in pain bleeding from all his wounds before he passes out. Thinking Chad is dead, Ghost face disappears without being seen.
