Fflewddur approached Eilonwy as she sat at the foot of the apple tree, staring off into the distance. She was facing away from the small collection of buildings she had once shared with Taran, the place called Caer Dallben.

"I know this is your home," he started, "but if—"

"I can't stay here," Eilonwy cut him off.

He seemed a little startled, and cleared his throat. "Oh, well, I was just going to suggest that if you need a change of scenery, my own castle is always ready—"

"I need to go to Caer Colur." She looked at him. "Will you take me there?"
