Chapter Four
Mirabel's Room (AKA the Nursery)

Encanto, Colombia
The two primas entered Mirabel's room and Mirabel went to sit on the bed as Dolores closed the door softly.
"Dolores... I..." Mirabel spoke softly and Dolores looked over to her, she saw Mirabel biting her lip which caused Dolores a bit of worry.
"Mira... what is it?" Dolores asked softly as she walked over and knelt in front of her youngest prima.
"Dolores... I am scared, I will be alone at school and papa will be here... where so many hate and fear him... all because he wanted to protect me" Mirabel started to cry and Dolores got to her feet and sat next to Mirabel and hugged her close to her.
"Mirabel, it is alright to fear the unknown and the villagers will have me helping your papa out and cutting off any of the mean and horrible comments... if you like I can get Camilo to prank any truly mean villagers till they stop" Dolores told Mirabel, who giggled before hiccuping and then took a deep breath.
"I am so sorry... for being such a pain" Mirabel whispered as a tear fell and Dolores softly gasped before wiping the tear away.
"Mira, you are not a pain to me nor will you ever be a pain or anything of the like, you have always respected my gift, never being too loud and you have been so helpful to me, I am so proud of you, Mirabel" Dolores told her firmly in a soft tone with a small smile.
"Thank you for always being there for me" Mirabel replied giving Dolores a hug and Dolores kissed the top of Mirabel's head.
"We better get your bag and then head down, you can tell me everything about the trip when you return, I bet you will see so many amazing things that it will become your heaven" Dolores told her and Mirabel nodded as she got up from the bed and grabbed her bag.
5 minutes later, the two headed back down the stairs to where the family and teachers were waiting for Mirabel.
"Good, I was about to send Felix up to get you two..." Mirabel looked down while Dolores gave their abuela a small glare "Mirabel, please be good and listen to the teachers as well as your father, your aunt and uncle" Alma stated firmly and Mirabel nodded.
"At most we should be about 3 hours in total to get everything" Minerva informed Alma and Alma nodded.
"I understand, but if you are later than 3 hours... may I ask how you would send word back to us? Cause I would like to know what time to get dinner sorted out" Alma asked with an eyebrow raise and Albus smiled with a twinkle in his eye.
"Fawkes" Albus stated simply and then everyone jumped as a bird on fire appeared and Mirabel gasped in awe.
"Fénix..." her family looked at her wondering how she knew what the creature was "oh, you are truly stunning and beautiful" she whispered in shock and Albus looked at Mirabel with an expression no one could read.
"Miss Madrigal? How do you know what Fawkes is?" Minerva asked speaking for everyone and then gasped in awe as Mirabel bowed her head low to Fawkes.
"I... I had a dream... a while back, there was this man and he told me about them... he tells me a lot of interesting things, but I found an interest in phoenixes..." everyone looked confused while Bruno was concerned "greetings..." Mirabel looked to Dumbledore "Fawkes?" he nodded as he watched in amazement as Fawkes allowed Mirabel to pat him.
"Mira, who was the man that told you about them?" Bruno asked concerned and Mirabel looked to her father.
"He never told me his name and he stayed in the shadows of the dream... seeing Fawkes brought the memory of the dream back... he taught me about many creatures and even..." Mirabel frowned as she thought about the dreams "he told me I was destined for something else... something powerful and he always told me that he was proud of me" Mirabel whispered and Albus looked concerned.
"Mirabel, please tell me, if you have any more of these dreams" Bruno pleaded falling to his knees looking into his daughter's eyes and Mirabel nodded as Fawkes trilled which shocked the rest of the Madrigal family.
"Phoenixes are truly amazing creatures, they can carry immensely heavy loads, their tears have healing powers and they make highly faithful pets" Albus explained as he walked over to Fawkes who was looking at Mirabel with a small head tilt and Albus could tell that the phoenix would become close to Mirabel.
As Albus looked at young Mirabel, he was caught in a memory of when Fawkes first met Marlene, who had come to the school with her father to talk about updating the brooms and Marlene was only 8 years old and he got a small smile on his face remembering the giggling Marlene playing hide and seek with Fawkes.
"Albus?" Albus was taken out of the memory "are you alright?" Poppy asked as everyone was looking at him with various looks.
"Yes, just... just remembering when Marlene first met Fawkes" Albus replied with a smile towards Mirabel who tilted her head.
"My mother... How old was she? Can you please tell me what happened?" Mirabel asked looking excited about learning of her mother and Albus chuckled softly before looking at everyone.
"Your mother was only 8 years old, when she first met Fawkes..." Albus started patting Fawkes softly on the head "Marlene had come to the school with her father, who had come with the request to update the school brooms seeing as his eldest would be starting that year..." Albus smiled hearing the echoes of the giggles enter his mind "your mother grew bored at meeting, kicking her feet and pouting while looking around... however, during that time she spotted Fawkes, who had just return from a hunt or off on an errand, well Marlene decided that Fawkes would be a great playmate to play hide and seek with... I still have the echoes of that time within my mind and it always brings a smile to my day" Albus told Mirabel who looked at Fawkes who bopped his head and Mirabel smiled softly at him.
"I wish I could have seen mama as a little girl" Mirabel whispered and Albus smiled at her.
"Magic is truly wonderful, I can show you the memory if you like..." Albus caught the eye of Minerva, who had an eyebrow raise before looking to his wrist where his watch was and he gave a small acknowledgement with his eyes "however, it might be best till you are at school and on the weekend as it is time for us to head off to go and get your things for school" Albus stated with a small smile as Minerva and Poppy looked at each with small fond smiles.
"Well then..." shaking her head at Albus "shall we go" Minerva asked looking around as Bruno got to his feet and he nodded.
"Can I ask... how are we getting to London?" Julieta asked curiously and Albus smiled at her before looking to Fawkes.
"Fawkes, would it be alright to take us to London and return here?" Fawkes nodded his head and waved his tail "Please grab onto Fawkes' tail" Albus told them and those going grabbed onto the tail and then in a flash of fire the group was gone.
"Mama, they will be alright, right?" Camilo told seeing that his mother was looking nervous, however she was gently rocking Antonio side to side and she smiled at her eldest son.
"They will be alright, Cami" Pepa whispered giving Camilo a kiss on the head as he hugged her.
"Well, let's start helping the village" Alma told her family and Pepa nodded as she handed Antonio to Felix.
"Be good for your papa" Pepa whispered kissing her youngest baby on the forehead and Antonio giggled.
"Dolores, please alert us when they return..." Dolores nodded "I will be down to the village shortly" Alma watched as her daughter and grandchildren leave towards the village, while Felix headed up to the Nursery and Alma glanced to the candle.
'I swear Pedro, that I will do better by our youngest nieta... give me time to get this shock out of the way' Alma said in her mind and closed her eyes praying that she could keep her promise.
London, England
Albus, Minerva, Bruno, Julieta, Agustin and Mirabel appeared a flash of fire in an alley way as Fawkes thrilled softly before flying to sit on a small bike rail looking at the group.
"I am sorry to do this, but I need to head off and go over to Saint Mungos to check on my patients there..." Poppy looked to Mirabel "I would love to come by and chat with you even show you memories of your mother, when I can..." Poppy smiled "once you get to Hogwarts, we can chat when the hospital wing is not too busy" Poppy stated and Mirabel smiled with a nod.
"Thank you for coming" Mirabel stated and Poppy smiled at her before she disappeared from sight with a pop.
"What was that popping called again?" Julieta asked looking between the two teachers and Minerva smiled at her.
"That is called Apparition, when you are 17 you can apply for your Apparating licence, however not everyone decides to get the licence as there are other ways to get around" Minerva replied and Mirabel frowned before shaking her head.
"I do not like the pop sound and I know if I get it the popping might hurt Dolores" Mirabel stated calmly and Bruno looked proud of his daughter while Agustin and Julieta looked at each other with small smiles proud of their sobrina.
"You could make the pop silent, but for that you have to train in controlling it and keeping focus" Minerva revealed and Mirabel bit her lip.
"I will think on it, but I feel that it might not be the best for me" Mirabel replied looking into the two teachers eyes and they nodded with understanding.
"Well, you have plenty of time to decide on your mode of transportation" Minerva replied and Mirabel looked happy at that.
"It would best to head off to the alley and get everything that you need for the coming school year..." Albus turned to look at Fawkes with a smile "thank you, Fawkes for bringing us safety to London, I will call for you when it is time to return them back home" Albus told him and Fawkes disappeared in flames.
"Actually Albus, before we head into the Alley, I forgot to inform you that I need to go and find out if another young girl wants to come to Hogwarts" Minerva stated looking to Albus and he nodded in his head in understanding.
"Could we come with you, it would be nice for Mirabel to meet someone her own age that is not family nor someone that is a bully..." Mirabel gasped before looking down in shame "Mira, Dolores told me about those horrible children and I am so sorry I never did anything or even come out from hiding" Bruno stated and Mirabel shook her head.
"I...I don't blame you, papa" Mirabel stated quietly and Bruno hugged her however in his mind he blamed himself for not being brave and leaving the walls to protect his one and only child.
"We best head off" Minerva stated and Bruno let her of Mirabel before kissing her on the forehead.
Minerva led the group only a few streets away to a street where the houses were joined at the walls and looked thin with not a lot of room.
"What type of houses are these?" Bruno asked looking to each side having never left Encanto and seen only the building in the valley where everyone had a small space between buildings.
"These are townhouses" Minerva answered looking at them briefly and Julieta looked around the street.
"They have no space between them and it looks like there is not a lot of room for a large family" Agustin muttered and Minerva glanced at him.
"It is true that they look like that, but they were built to maximize living space with minimize frontage" Minerva replied and the Madrigals frowned.
"Well, at least they serve a purpose even if it makes them feel cramp" Bruno muttered under his breath and Minerva looked at him.
"Here we are" Minerva announced seeing the house where young Hermione Granger lived and the group followed her up the steps.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Coming" a man called out from deeper within and then there was a shuffle behind as the door opened to a beautiful woman with chocolate brown hair tied in a pony-tail.
"Good afternoon Madam, you have returned for Hermione's answer" the woman replied with a smile and Minerva nodded.
"Indeed, it is also your choice to let her come to Hogwarts, you are her mother" Minerva replied and the woman smiled at Minerva.
"Come on in... who are they?" the woman asked looking at Albus, Agustin, Julieta, Bruno and Mirabel.
"This is Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts" Minerva introduced and the woman smiled at him.
"It is nice to meet you, sir, I am Charlotte Granger" Charlotte introduced herself and Albus smiled at her.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, I normally do not do house calls, preferring to get things finalize for the upcoming school year... however young Mirabel is a special case" Albus told her looking to Mirabel who blushed before looking down and Charlotte smiled at the young girl.
"Mum, is everything alright?" the group looked over as another young girl with bushy light brown hair and eyes entered the small foyer.
"Yes, everything is alright... is your father trying to finish the cooking again?" Charlotte asked with a small shake of her head as the young girl nodded.
"Charlie, I am not that bad..." Charlotte smiled softly as a man walked into view and the group saw he had dark blonde hair "oh, Madam McGonagall... are you here for Hermione's answer?" the man asked walking over and Minerva nodded.
"I am, I will be also escorting Mirabel and her family to Diagon Alley" Minerva told him and the man smiled.
"Are you a miyyle born as well?" Mirabel giggled as Hermione sighed and Bruno smiled seeing his daughter giggling "I got that wrong... didn't I?" the man replied with a small pout and Hermione smiled at her father.
"It was muggle born, dad" Hermione told him with a smile.
"Sorry" the man said and Charlotte shook her head.
"Shall we sit down in the lounge" they nodded and Charlotte led the group into another room "I am so sorry, but... what... what are your names?" Charlotte asked everyone calmly sat down and Hermione's father went into another room and before returning.
"Just turned off the oven and opened the door" the man stated and Charlotte nodded with a grateful smile.
"It is nice to meet the three of you, I am Julieta Madrigal and this is my husband Agustin Gracia Madrigal" Julieta said with a smile to her husband, who smiled back.
"I'm Bruno Madrigal and this is my daughter Mirabel" Bruno introduced himself and placed a hand softly on Mirabel's shoulder.
"It is nice to meet you all, sorry for not introducing myself earlier, but my name is Adrian" the man introduced himself and Agustin smiled at him, he could see himself being friends with the man and he hoped to have Bruno and Felix join him.
"Miss Granger, may I know your answer about joining Hogwarts?" Minerva asked softly and Hermione looked to her parents.
"My parents and I discussed it and I will like to go to Hogwarts" Hermione answered and Minerva smiled.
"Then here you go..." Minerva pulled out a piece of parchment and Hermione took it "this is the supply list that you will need to get" Minerva stated and Hermione handed the list to her mother, who read the list and frowned.
"We can get all of this in London" Charlotte asked looking to the two Hogwarts staff and Albus smiled.
"Indeed, we can" Albus stated with a smile.
"How are we to pay for tuition? And her supplies?" Adrian asked with a worried look as Charlotte handed him the list.
"I have the firm belief that you are descended from a squid line, so you might be able to get some money via an heritage test... before you ask there was a famous potion master with the surname of Granger with the joined surname of Dagworth" Albus stated and Adrian looked surprised.
"How do we find that out?" Hermione asked before her father could and Albus smiled at her.
"It is a test that Gringotts can preform, I would be happy to pay for your test" Albus told her and they nodded.
"That is nice for you to offer, Headmaster" Charlotte told him and Albus waved her off.
"It is a gift and tuition is free at Hogwarts" Albus stated and the Granger family smiled gratefully at him.
"Well, we best head off to the Alley and get young Miss Madrigal and Miss Granger their things" Minerva stated and everyone nodded.
"Where is the Alley? How are we getting there?" Hermione asked as the group left the house and Adrian locked the door behind him.
"We can easily walk, it is always best to show the entry point for new comers into the Wizarding World" Minerva answered and Hermione looked impressed.
As the group walked towards the Alley, Hermione decided to get to know her new classmate and she walked over to where Mirabel was walking with her father.
"Mirabel, where do you live?" Hermione asked looking to the girl who looked at her startled.
"Encanto, Colombia" Mirabel answered and Hermione tilted her head.
"Where is Encanto?" Hermione asked and Mirabel looked to her dad.
"Encanto is located in the mountains of Colombia, you would not find us on a map for Encanto is protected" Bruno explained and Hermione looked interested.
"Protected how?" Hermione asked and Bruno looked to Mirabel.
"Mira, you can tell the story" Bruno told her and Mirabel looked unsure.
"It will be okay, Mira, Abuela does not have to know" Julieta told her and the Granger family looked curious.
"Long ago, when my abuela and abuelo with my papa and tias as well as some villagers were escaping from bandits, my abuelo gave his life to protect my abuela, my dad and aunts... with his sacrifice the valley was blessed with magic as well as mountains for protection, only few outsiders have entered since" Mirabel explained and Hermione looked in awe.
"What does Abuela, Abuelo and tias mean?" Hermione asked and Mirabel looked at her.
"Abuela means Grandmother, Abuelo means Grandfather and tias means aunts in Spanish" Mirabel replied and Hermione looked to Bruno and Julieta.
"I thought your father and Augustin were brothers" Hermione asked looking to the two men.
"It is Agustin, no 'u' between the 'a' and 'g'" Agustin told her with a soft smile and Hermione blushed.
"Oh.. sorry" Hermione whispered and Agustin smiled at her.
"It is alright, you are only young and still learning, anyway when I moved to Encanto and met Julieta then marrying into the Madrigal I took her surname mainly in honour of Pedro Madrigal's sacrifice and keeping the village safe" Agustin explained and Hermione looked in awe.
"That is amazing, so you were one of the outsiders" Hermione said and Agustin nodded.
"When I first arrived, neither my father nor I were trusted in the village, many of the older people gave my father dirty looks..." Julieta rubbed her husband's arm "then about 3 years of moving to Encanto, my father became gravely ill due to an old injury and before Julieta could come and help... my father passed away in the night, I had run into the forest and long story short, Julieta found me and she helped me grieve for my father" Agustin explained and Mirabel looked down having heard the story growing up.
"Do you have any children?" Charlotte asked and Julieta smiled at her.
"We have two girls; Isabela and Luisa" Julieta told her and Hermione looked to Bruno.
"I just have Mirabel, my wife... she died, I only found out recently... my story is not a good one" Bruno told her and Hermione tilted her head before she nodded.
"Any other children?" Adrian asked and Julieta nodded.
"My sister Pepa has three children; Dolores, Camilo and Antonio" Julieta replied with a soft smile and Charlotte smiled at her.
"Do you all live together?" Charlotte asked and Julieta nodded.
"Our home is the largest in Encanto, you are most welcome to come and see Casita before Hermione and Mirabel head off for school" Julieta stated knowing that she would deal with her mother about strangers in the valley.
"We have arrived" Albus stated and the group looked around seeing nothing special before Hermione frowned and tilted her head.
"That pub was not there three weeks ago" Hermione said pointing to a tiny, grubby-looking pub that to the surprise of the Madrigals and Grangers, everyone was just rushing pass it and not paying it any mind and Mirabel looked confused.
"You are right, how did we never notice that before?" Adrian asked looking to the two teachers and Albus smiled at him.
"There are many wards around the pub and the area beyond it, however the main one is called muggle-repelling, so muggles do not find out about the magical world and there is an extra spell weaving within the ward that allowed muggle-born witches and wizards to see the pub when they are first taken there by a member of Hogwarts and that they do not find the pub before the right time" Albus explained and Hermione looked amazed.
"That is so cool, what types of wards are there?" Hermione asked looking excited and Albus looked to Minerva who nodded remembering another certain student asking the same question.
"Hundreds, some sadly have been lost in time" Minerva replied and Albus smiled at Minerva.
"Before we head to the bank, I would like to point out that when you enter the bank you will not see human tellers but that of Goblins, they run the bank and do not tolerate fools and need to be treated with respect, however you may be able to see other witches and wizards being short with them..." Minerva looked at Albus sharply "anyway we best head in and you might see what happens when you do not treat them with respect" Albus stated calmly and everyone nodded.
"Let's head in and get everything done, I will need to return home soon to help around the village" Julieta stated and Agustin nodded.
The group entered the pub and Mirabel saw that it was very dark and shabby inside and behind the bar stood a man that was quite bald and looked like a toothless walnut. The low buzz of chatter stopped when they walked in.
"Welcome Headmaster, Professor McGonagall, is it that time of year again" the bartender asked and Albus nodded.
"Indeed it is... " Albus looked to the two girls with a smile "this is Tom, he is the barkeep here at the Leaky Cauldron, if you find yourselves staying here or even wanting something to eat, Tom can help you" Albus told the group and Tom nodded.
"Always happy to help and enjoy your first visit to the Alley, girls" Tom stated looking at Hermione and Mirabel.
"Thank you" Hermione and Mirabel said together and soon the group followed Minerva to a back room and watched as Albus tapped a brink and then the wall started to open up.
"Welcome to Diagon Alley, now as you know we shall be off to Gringotts first and that is the white building at the end of the Alley" Albus informed them and he led them down the alley as both Mirabel and Hermione looked around in awe.
"Papa" Mirabel whispered looking back to the animal store and Bruno looked to Julieta, who bite her lip and Bruno nodded in understanding.
"We will see" Bruno told her and Mirabel nodded as the group reached the snowy white building that towered over the other little shops.
Standing beside its burnished bronze doors, wearing a uniform of scarlet and gold stood a goblin and Mirabel looked at the being with amazement. Then to the amazement of Minerva who was just besides that young girl watched as Mirabel bowed her head to the goblin and Bruno too bowed giving respect to the being.
"Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there" Hermione read out loud and Mirabel tilted her head.
"I like it" Mirabel stated with a smile and Bruno chuckled before looking to Agustin who nodded.
"Same" Hermione replied and the two girls smiled at each other.
Charlotte, Adrian, Bruno, Julieta and Agustin were happy that the two girls were getting along and they hoped the two would become friends.
Albus led the group into the bank and went to an empty counter.
"Good day, I have two young witches to take an inheritance test" Albus stated and the goblin nodded.
"Please follow me to the inheritance room" the goblin stated and the group followed the goblin down a hallway and then they came to a door.
"Bonedagger, what are you doing away from your post?" another goblin growled opening the door.
"I shall be returning to my post shortly, Ragnok... I needed to escort this group to your office" the goblin stated and Ragnok looked to the group.
"Very welll, return to your post Bonedagger" Bondedagger nodded and left "come on in" Ragnok stated and the group entered.
"Greetings Ragnok, it is good to see you again" Albus stated as he and everyone took their seats then Ragnok closed the door.
"You as well, Albus Dumbledore, how may I help you today?" Ragnok asked getting to his seat and Albus looked to Mirabel and Hermione.
"We are here to see if Miss Madrigal has been left a vault by her mother and we are also here to find out if young Miss Granger is descended from any squid lines" Albus explained and Ragnok nodded.
"Very well" Ragnok grabbed a few things from below the desk and Albus looked to the young girls.
"Which one would like to go first?" Albus asked and Mirabel looked at Hermione
"I will, if that is alright with you Hermione" Mirabel said and Hermione nodded.
"We only need 7 drops of blood" Ragnok stated and pricked Mirabel's finger and let 7 drops fall onto the parchment. The group watched as black fancy letters formed.

"Oh my Morgana" Minerva whispered seeing the results and Albus looked shocked.
"That was a McKinnon secret, only Gringotts and the family knew" Ragnok revealed and Bruno looked at the results, shocked at seeing Madrigal there and he knew he would have to go to Bogotá, Colombia and find out more about his father's family.
"Let's get young Miss Granger sorted and then I shall answer any questions" Albus stated seeing the surprise on Bruno's face and Ragnok nodded.
Hermione pricked her finger and the same happened with black fancy writing appearing.

"Oh... this is... oh my" Minerva stated with shock while Albus looked at the young girls with awe and then he saw their confusion.
"Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff are two of the founders of Hogwarts" the girls looked shocked "I want you both to hide these results, destroy them even" Albus stated calmly and the girls nodded before handing them to Ragnok.
"I will issue their keys and then destroy these pages myself" Ragnok stated and Albus nodded his head in thanks.
Ragnok left the room as the Grangers looked over the results.
"Who is this Dagworth-Granger?" Adrian asked looking over the results and Minerva looked to him.
"Hector Dagworth-Granger was the founder of the Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers, he was also known for finding out that love potions only induce powerful infatuations and that no potion would break true love" Albus explained and Hermione looked amazed.
"That is truly amazing" Hermione whispered and her parents nodded.
"What does it mean with Andrew's name? True name hidden?" Charlotte asked looking at Albus and Minerva.
"This Andrew might just be a wizard in hiding, there are many of them from the war and none have come out of hiding due to fear of Voldemort's followers" Albus explained and Charlotte bit her lip.
"No, don't even think about it Charlie, as the headmaster said Andrew might be fearful of the followers" Adrian stated calmly and Charlotte sighed.
"But would my sister even know? What if Andrew was part of the followers and are just lying in wait? Is Anthony even his brother?" Charlotte replied and Hermione looked to her parents.
"I suggest that you don't" Minerva stated and Adrian nodded while Charlotte caught Hermione's eye before giving the barest nod.
Ragnok returned and went back to his seat.
"Here are your keys to the vaults, make sure you keep them safe and if they get stolen or you misplace them, it is one gallon to replace the key" Ragnok told them and the girls nodded.
"Papi, could you keep it safe?" Mirabel asked looking to her father and Bruno nodded.
"Of course, mi mariposita" Bruno told her and Hermione looked at Bruno.
"What does me mari..mariposa mean?" Hermione asked and Mirabel blushed at the question.
"Very close, mi mariposita means my little butterfly... while mariposa just means butterfly" Bruno told her and Hermione smiled before looking to Mirabel, who was blushing.
"When we get to Hogwarts could you teach me Spanish?" Hermione asked kindly to Mirabel's shock, she had thought Hermione might make fun of her nickname and Mirabel looked to Hermione and nodded.
"I would be happy to" Mirabel told her and Julieta smiled at Agustin and then to Bruno.
"It is always good to learn new languages, do you know any other language currently?" Julieta asked her and Hermione blushed.
"Thank you, I am currently learning French" Hermione replied and Julieta smiled.
"Could you teach me French?" Mirabel asked softly and Hermione nodded with a grin.
"Well, we best head down to the vaults and gather up a bag of money for the supplies" Minerva stated and everyone nodded.
Soon the group were led down to the vaults and collect about 100 gallons each to get everything as well as any extra things.
"I suggest we leave the book store for last, I know Hermione will want to try and grab as many books as possible" Charlotte stated and Adrian chuckled seeing his daughter turn red.
"Mira, could I see the list?" Julieta asked and Mirabel handed her tia the list and she read it over.
"Agustin, why don't you, Bruno and Adrian go and get the books, while Charlotte and I head with the girls to get the school uniform and the other things needed" Julieta suggested and the men nodded.
"That sounds fine, we will see you in 45 minutes" Agustin said and the ladies nodded.
"Oh dear, I need to head off to the ministry, I shall see you girls at Hogwarts" Albus stated seeing the time on a store window and everyone nodded.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, Headmaster" Mirabel told him and Albus smiled at her then he left and the men went to go to book store.
In the bookstore
The men entered and looked around amazed seeing towers of books stacked to the ceiling.
"Hello good sirs, are you here for the upcoming year?" the shop keep asked seeing them looking a little lost.
"Yes, we are, they will be first years" Adrian replied and the shop keep nodded.
"How many are you shopping for?" the shop keep asked bringing out his wand.
"Two" Bruno replied and the shop keep nodded and the men watched amazed as 16 books flew over to the counter.
"Is there anything else?" the shop keep asked and the men looked at each other.
"We will have a look around for a bit" Agustin told him and the shop keep nodded, the men went different ways to see what other books were around.
With Agustin
As Agustin wondered into an section called magical creatures and there as he was looking at the different titles, he saw that there was another copy of the book called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and he smiled knowing that many of his family members would be interested to see what types of creatures Mirabel might meet. Plus it would be good to have a second copy for anyone that did not get to read it.
As he continued walking found the section on Herbology and looked over the titles before finding one that would greatly interest his wife and even his eldest daughter which was called Ingredient Encyclopedia.
"I wonder if Isa could recreate any of these plants?" Agustin wondered in his mind and he put it with the Fantastic Beats book.
"Agustin, what have you found so far?" Adrian asked making Agustin jump in fright which had Adrian chuckled seeing Agustin jump in the air.
"You scared me, but I have found another copy of that Fantastic Beasts book and I know that someone might want to keep reading about the creatures once Mira heads off to the school, then I found one that my wife could use and possibly my eldest daughter" Agustin replied showing the books and Adrian smiled.
"Good picks, I found four" Adrian stated as he showed the three books; Great Wizards of the Twentieth Century, Nature's Nobility: A Wizarding Genealogy, A History of Hogwarts.
"Where did you find those? I might get them as well and learn about the history of the Wizarding World" Agustin asked and Adrian smiled at him.
"I will show you and then we best find Bruno and then get back to the girls" Adrian replied and the two men headed off to another area.
With Bruno
As Bruno walked the rows of books seeing if there were any that would catch the attention of his daughter or even himself. He came across two books, two that could be helpful for his sister, if Mirabel get hurt or even learning new things to make; Common Magical Ailments and Afflictions, Healing at Home with Herbs. The final book that he found was one that caught his eye and he grabbed it.
"Understanding the Vision" Bruno muttered under his breath and he flipped through it quickly and he saw that there were many types of visions or seer types. Bruno decided to buy it and see if there was something in there that could help work out what more his power could do.
"There you are Bruno, I was getting concerned when I could not find you" Agustin stated finding his brother in law and Bruno looked to him.
"Sorry, I found some books that Julieta would like" Bruno replied and Agustin smiled at him as Adrian grabbed a copy of Common Magical Ailments and Afflictions.
"We best go and get to the ladies" Adrian stated and the others nodded.
"What books did you find?" Bruno asked the two as they walked away and the three paid for the books. Then they got to talking about the books that they found.
They found Minerva, Julieta, Charlotte, Hermione and Mirabel waiting with other bags.
"We went and got the other equipment, now we only need to get these two their wands" Minerva stated and the men nodded in agreement, the two girls were excited and the group entered Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C. The were peeling faded gold lettering and in the window laying on a light faded cushion was a wand that had a silver handle.
As the group entered the store, they saw boxes piled up to the ceiling and the place felt like you needed to be quiet, yet Bruno, Julieta, Mira and Agustin felt the magic within the building.
"Minerva McGonagall, always wonderful to see you, is it that time again?" everyone but Minerva jumped at the voice and then tried to spot where the voice came from.
"Hello Garrick, it is indeed time for new students to enter Hogwarts as you know I will be back over the next few weeks with other Muggleborns" Minerva stated as a man walked out from a behind the shelves and they saw the man's pale silver eyes shining like moons looking to Mirabel.
"Oh my, so the line does live on..." he walked over to Mirabel "your mother weaved a deep ward over you, it protects you... your mother was a talented witch... I am sorry for her loss" Garrick stated sadly and Mirabel looked at him confused.
"You knew my mother" Mirabel asked with a tilt of her head and Garrick nodded.
"The Ollivander family were allies of the McKiinnon, Potter, Longbottom, Bones and Greengrass families... but it was the McKinnons that helped my ancestor bring this store to life, gave us a few ancient secrets, you will always have a safe place here if you were ever to need it" Garrick stated with a small bow and Mirabel looked amazed.
"Thank you sir" Mirabel said bowing her head and Garrick smiled at her before looking to the other young girl.
"You have a powerful aura surrounding you as well, I can see great things coming from you both... now who shall go first?" Garrick asked looking between the two girls and Hermione decided to go first, it took 37 wands before she found hers which was a vine wood with a core of dragon heartstring.
"Congratulations Hermione" Mirabel told her and Hermione smiled at her and Mirabel swallowed before stepping forward.
Mirabel tried 83 wands before Garrick paused and looked between Mirabel and Bruno then his eyes lit up before walking back to the isles causing confusion for the girls.
"Garrick... is everything alright?" Minerva asked seeing the confusion on Mirabel's face and everyone waited to see what was going to happen and then there was boxes being moved loudly, Mirabel looked to her father who looked concerned as well.
"FOUND IT!" Ollivander shouted scaring Bruno and he walked out with a proud smile.
"Found what?" Mirabel asked with a tilt of her head and Garrick smiled at her.
"My great great grandfather created this wand, after he was offered an ancient branch from a Colombian Oak tree from a distant traveler and for about 6 weeks after the gifting, he was lost on what to pair the wood with..." Garrick smiled at the wand "then a few hours after placing the wood away, a phoenix with strange blue flames appeared in front of him and offered one tail feather, I can sense that this wand is for you" Garrick stated and he offered the wand to Mirabel who took it gently then waited for the wand to accept her.
Garrick looked sad when nothing happened but then there was a burst of blue light as silver vines flowed around Mirabel and she heard a beautiful singing and then everything stopped.
"Mira, you alright?" Bruno asked his daughter as he ran over to her and check her over.
"I... I'm fine" Mirabel whispered looking at her new wand in awe.
"Yes, I should have tried that wand in the first few, it speaks of your Colombian heritage but also speaks of the McKinnon survival... however there was something else I can not put my finger on" Garrick stated frowning and Mirabel looked at him and smiled.
"I will always honour both sides of my heritage" Mirabel told him firmly and Garrick nodded still wondering what was missing.
"We best get home" Julieta stated and everyone nodded, the group departed and Minerva called for Fawkes knowing the phoenix would come to her.
Julieta, Bruno, Agustin and Mirabel arrived back at Casita, where Mirabel's cousins were wanting to hear about to trip and see what she got.
Elsewhere
As a small ding echoed through the empty hallway, as golden doors opened and a bronze-cloaked figure slowly walked out into the hallway before taking a deep breath and walking toward the solid black door with an ominous feeling creeping into his mind.
"Greetings..." a silver shadow appeared on the black door "seeker of knowledge, what is it you are seeking?" the shadow stated in a distorted voice and the bronze cloaked figure swallowed before taking a breath.
"Greetings mysterious guardian, I seek the head for the 25 year check of the spheres within your halls" the figure stated calmly despite the wariness the place gives him.
The figure felt as he was being watched and he knew not to move for the eyes were simply others employed within the hallowed halls.
"Please..." the figure wanted to jump and scream when the shadow's distorted voice came back, but knew he couldn't move "state the identity given to you by the miners" the voice demanded and the figure stood straighter.
"They call me Finder of the Lost" the figure stated and then there was silence.
"You may enter for the Head is awaiting you in the main hall" the shadow distorted voice stated before the silver disappeared from the doors as they slowly opened and just in the centre of the next room stood a figure cloaked in grey and red.
"Why does this check happen every 25 years?" Finder of the Lost asked entering the room and the head of the department chuckled before turning serious.
"425 years ago, when the check was done every second year... there were many years between when a prophecy would become active and I only know of one that became active in the past 10 years and it was the one that Albus Dumbledore was told but someone overheard it" the head stated and the Finder moved his head carefully.
"So why was this check not done then?" the Finder asked as the two came across the black doors and the Head turned to the Finder.
"Due to the magic and wards that now lay within the foundation of the room, the door shall only open every 25 years or when someone a prophecy speaks about is in the department" the Head stated and then the doors opened.
The Head headed over to the left and the Finder followed, there on the wall was a large book and the Head gasped in surprise.
"Head? What is it?" the Finder asked hearing the gasp and he took a few steps forward.
"There are now two active prophecies, one of which is Cassandra Vablatsky's first prophecy which was spoken in 1906" the Head read out and the Finder looked at the prophecy.
Two shall break free of expectations
Healing enchanted sleep one holds deep
The broken dark shall rise
Flower shall meet the Heart
Under the light of flames
"I never heard of this one" the Finder said looking to the Head.
"That is because no one was around her when she spoke the prophecy, the story goes that she was out by the Black Lake with a book and then she spoke the prophecy, I know many have tried to talk to her about the book she was reading but she has given no answers and her grand-daughter is now at Hogwarts under Albus Dumbledore's protection" The Head replied and the Finder.
"Can we find out who the prophecy is about?" the Finder asked with a curious tone and the head chuckled.
"There is no violet writing, meaning the prophecy is not yet ready to happen" the head replied and the Finder nodded.
"And the other prophecy, who is it about?" the finder asked and the head flipped to the next page, there on the page in violet letters were the names Harry James Potter and Tom Marvolo Riddle.
"The prophecy is starting, time will only know when it ends now" the head stated in an ominous tone and the Finder wondered who Tom Riddle was and what he had to do with the Boy-Who-Lived.
Silver - This was a large chapter, but I hope you all liked it and for those that know, I hope I got the surname right, I had used google and I hoped I understood it. I also looked up Colombian surnames to find a surname for Agustin. Also the original chapter had 5001 words and this has 8,143 words.
Loki - Well, you are doing a job of research, my brain is still talking in German.
Silver - Voting has closed as I got pairings all down and there will be new surprises coming, so keep an eye out for that. I know that I said I would keep the voting up till the end of book one, but when Loki and I were talking, she told me that the voting should be closed.
Loki - Final note from me, could you please let us know if you like the Elsewhere part as I was not a fan of it when Silver spoke about the idea. I know where it is leading and I am not a fan of it just yet.
