Searching for Sun Flower, Rin rode through the forest. Coming to a spot where white moss grows he dismounted and digs up a root. Chopping off one slice of the root he took a closer look at it.

"Just like stars." Rin said. "Sun Flower."

"Help! Please, help!" Cairstiana called.

Drawing his sword Rin decided to follow the sound. Stepping through a gap in the undergrowth he found himself on a clearing. At the edge of the clearing there was standing a tower.

"Up here!" She called again. "Please."

Slowly, Rin climbed up the tower's wall using a queue of hair as a rope. Panting, he finally climbed through a window.

"You're... you're the first person I've seen in such a long time." Cairstiana said in a hushed voice.

"How long have you been up here?" Rin asked.

"I've lost count of the years." Cairstiana said. "Are you a prince?"

"Not really. Sort of." Rin replied. "A tiara? Are you a princess?"

"Sort of," Cairstiana said. "but you can call me Cairstiana. "My parents are the king and queen of my realm. Great leaders. Adored by our people."

"Why did you leave your kingdom?"

"For the same reason you did. I saw what you were digging up."

"You came for the Sun Flower?"

"Yes." Cairstiana said. 'My mother took one when I was born, but I grew ill as I got older..I needed more. When I got older, I knew, I just knew I could never be a leader like my parents. But at least I had my older brother. He was next in line. But then, something happened. Something horrible."

"I'm sorry." Rin said empathically. He couldn't imagine something happening to Yukio.

"It was a terrible, terrible accident." Cairstiana said softly. "And after his death, this longing for the Sun started to overwhelm me. When I closed my eyes..."

Rin nodded. "Then the nightmares would come."

"They crippled my sleep."

"Did you take the Sun Flower?"

"Yes." Cairstiana sighed. "It didn't work. Coming to get it was the greatest mistake in my life."

"Then, how are you still here?"

"Before I could return home a wizard appeared, his face hidden under a cloak. He attacked me and chased me to this tower."

Rin put a hand on her shoulder "You don't have to worry about her anymore. I'm getting you out of here. But first I need to show you this. The Crown of Gehenna. I think it belongs to you."

Cairstiana opened Rin's satchel and found the tiara.

Rin watched from inside the wardrobe as the artwork reacted to her golden hair and magic and all of it glowed as bright as the sun.

Cairstiana's eyes glowed gold, and then she looked at the dust that was the victim who she had been forced to kill.

"Wither and decay

End this destiny

Break these earthly chains

And set the spirit free

The spirit free"

Cairstiana's golden light flared and turned silver. The silver light danced into the ashes, and they reformed into a person, who gasped suddenly and screamed, climbing out of the tower.

"Cairstiana." Rin struggled, his flames the only thing giving him the strength to move. "Stop."

His hand touched her and the tiara clattered to the floor.

The light flickered out, but not before it hit Rin in the chest.

"I saved him." Cairstiana said. "I'm not a monster, am I?"

She looked up at Rin, and instead of seeing a handsome thief, there was a monstrous demon standing there.

"No. I'm the monster." Rin said.

Cairstiana screamed.

As the light flickered out, Rin returned to his more attractive form.

Cairstiana put the tiara back in his satchel.

"Can you explain this to me?" Cairstiana asked.

"I don't really understand it myself." Rin said. "Gehenna, the world that your 'Father' came from created magic with the nectar of a garden of sunlight flowers, cultivated by Yuri, the Priestess of Life and Death. Eventually they got greedy and there was only one left. I was one of Satan's sons, me and Yukio. That tiara was our mother's. You are human, however. Just a girl. I dunno know why you are able to use demon power."

"Aren't I a demon?" Cairstiana said. "If Father is, I am!"

Rin leaned in. "Nah. You don't have a single drop of demon blood. But you do have magic. In your hair."

"I know that. I always have." Cairstiana said. "He makes me sacrifice humans for his youth. I always wanted to save someone. Demon Prince! Please, give me this tiara!"

Rin shook his head. "Not a chance."

"Please I can save people." Cairstiana said.

"That tiara turns me into a monster. I don't want that to happen again." Rin said. "I'm going to seal its power and then sell it and continue on my merry way."

"You can't!" Cairstiana said. "I have it!"

"And I suppose you want something from me?" Rin said lazily.

"Yes. Freedom."

Rin's tail wagged in anticipation

Suddenly Cairstiana grabbed Rin's arm. "You don't understand. He won't let me. Whenever I try to leave, he..." Suddenly, the candles went out. Rin looked out of the window. A hooded figure approached the tower. The figure wore a golden grown with white pattern woven in. Draped in an yellow cloak the figure's clothing matched the Sun Flower's appearance. "It's too late. He knows you are here." The hooded figure climbed up the tower.
