Bio-toa hero

BNHA/ Bionicle

Yes I wrote this while listening to Cryoshell As Above So Below.

So a quick list of terms before we begin just for those who didn't grow up with Bionicle.

Toa: The main heroes

Matoran; the villagers

Turaga; the elders, they're basically toa who got too old for active duty.

Makuta; either the species of shapeshifters or in reference to their boss the Makuta called Terridax

Rahi; the wild animals.

Kanohi; the masks worn by Matoran, Toa, makuta and other species

Bio; roughly 3.5ft, this is also the height of a matoran, the Toa are 2 Bio tall and Makuta Terridax's prefered form is 4-5 Bio tall.

Mio; 1000 bio

Protodermis; a metal that can be liquid, solid, energized or plasma depending on various factors.

Anti-dermis; what Makuta are made from.

For those coming from Bionicle who don't know about BNHA I'll cover that too.

Quirks; genetic super powers that usually manifest at age 4

Emitter; quirks that emit something such as spitting fire, there are usually secondary mutations to handle their quirk like fire users being fireproof or ice users having lower body temperature tollerences but not always.

Transformation; does what it says in the tin, usually there are minor vestigial mutations. An example would be the ability to grow wings from the back or turn ones skin into stone. Secondary mutations are seen with Kirishima for example who has sharp pointed teeth.

Mutation; physical mutations that usually cover several things, an example is the quirk Frog possessed by Tsuyu, she can do whatever a frog does, has much more powerful leg bones and muscles than a human should have, a long prehensile tongue, can spit up toxins from her stomach and has mild chameleonic abilities.

Stockpile; quirks that require a stock of something to work. This could be stocking fat cells to enhance strength like Fatgum or literally stockpiling quirks like One for all and all for One.

Chapter 1; a legend begins.

A world where not all men were born equal. This was a harsh reality that many had to live with in a world where super heroes and villains were the normal. This was a world where everything can and will go pear shaped in an instant without exception. People quickly learnt to appreciate the small things in this kind of world and communities were often close knit but spiteful of anything out of the ordinary. Unfortunately for Izuku Midoriya, he was too ordinary.

In a world where super powers were for everyone, Izuku had none. He was quirkless. His friends soon turned the backs on him and the relentless tormenting and bullying began. His only saving grace was his caring parents. His mother Inko was a short green haired woman who would go out of her way to help a kitten from a tree if she could one moment and be ripping into a bully the next. His father Hisashi Midoriya was a slim man with bushy black hair and near permanent chapped lips from his fire breath quirk. He was often busy working for an insurance company but made as much time as he could to spend with his wife and son, even giving up a promotion to America just to spend more time with them.

For Izuku it was an ordinary day. For the past 3 years of his life he had been all but friendless all for lacking a quirk. His green fluffy hair was sticky and mattered from explosions and chewing gum. His face bruised and his shirt charred. He was only seven years old and already knew the harsh truth, nobody was born equal. As he stumbled on the front door of the apartment his family lived in, he kicked off his shoes by the door and hung his bag on a nearby hook after grabbing out a water bottle and his lunch box. His mother's shoes were also there along with several pairs of guest shoes and his dad's home slippers.

"Hi mum!" Izuku called as he walked into the kitchen. There he found his Mum hard at work rushing about between her laptop and a pot of something boiling on the stove. His mum was a short but thin woman with long green hair, bright green eyes, freckles and often wore a pink sweater that aunt Mitsuki got her a few years ago.

"Oh hi sweety." She smiled brightly before it dimmed and turned to a frown. "Oh baby, who hurt you?"

"It's fine mum. Kachan and I were rough-housing again." Izuku lied. He hated to do it but he couldn't make his mum sad or ruin Kachan's chances of becoming a real hero in the future.

"Alright, if you're sure sweety." She frowned softly before taking his lunch box and water bottle and sitting them to the side of the sink. "Dad's gonna be a bit late today, he's stopping at the grocer's to get something sweet for desert."

"Katsudon!" Izuku cheered with his hands in the air.

"That isn't sweet or a desert." His mum giggled as she shook her head while minding the pot of whatever was boiling. "Besides you already had that once this week sweety, anymore and you'd get pudgy. Now go get changed and washed up, dinner should be done soon."

"Okay mum." Izuku nodded as he headed off for his bedroom. Well if you could call it a bedroom. Asides a bed and a single dresser the entire room was filled with All Might Merch and even then the bed was fitted with an All Might themed blanket and pillow covers. All in all it was a room that would bring envy to the hero known as Sir Nighteye along with many fans of the number 1 hero.

Soon he was changed out of his school uniform, which he tossed into a hamper, and dressed in a white shirt that said Pants and a pair of blue shorts. As he went into the bathroom to wash his hands he heard the front door open before closing. He hurried to finish washing his hands, opting to dry them on his shirt before bolting out with a cry of "Dad!" and tackled his father's leg into a hug.

His dad was a tall man with black hair, pale skin and burn scars around his mouth from overusing his quirk. For Izuku his dad was his 3rd favourite person right behind All Might and his mum. Despite being busy he always made time for Izuku whenever he could and would take him fishing whenever he could. Usually the trip ended when a crab decided that the man's finger was a prime target for pinching practice however.

"Hey Izu, you ok champ?" His father asked gently as he ruffled his hand through his sons hair.

"Yeah, just Kachan and me roughhousing." He muttered looking away as he let go of his dad's leg.

"Right." He sighed looking away. Izuku knew his dad tried to stop the bullying but the education department of Mustafu was unwilling to help the "dying breed" of quirkless students being discriminated against. Short of homeschooling there was nothing much they could do and Hisashi worked too much to be able to teach his son while Inko simply didn't have the education or training to homeschool her son in anything other than Law.

"Oh Hisashi. How was work dear?" Inko smiled as her husband wondered over, Izuku moving past him to sit at the table.

"Hey Inks." Hisashi smiled and kissing his wife on the lips before chuckling at Izuku's gaging at the display."It's been crazy today."

"Tell us over dinner you goof." Inko smiled back before pointing a wooden spoon at Hisashi "In just about to serve it up so go wash your hands."

"Alright." The man laughed in mock surrender as he raised his hands before walking off for the bathroom.

Soon enough the family of three was sitting around the table, a plate of boiled squash, mashed potatoes and some grilled fish sat before them.

"So then of course Hatsume found the stapler he lost in a blob of jello of all things." Hisashi explained with a wide grin making Izuku giggle. "half an hour later and the printer got hit by a stray quirk. Turned into a robot that sprayed the floors with ink before declaring that it quit."

"Oh my, that's the third printer your company lost this year isn't it?" Inko asked, semi amused by the situation.

"Forth." Hisashi replied while shaking his head. "I didn't tell you about the one that caught fire the other week when Endeavour sneezed during an office tour, needless to say I don't think Ultra-slick will be going through with the sponsorship given he burnt several high paying contracts that were printing at the time."

"Did you get his autograph?" Izuku asked with stars in his eyes, bouncing slightly in his seat.

"Sorry Izu, I was too busy trying to file the forms to ship more products to Okinawa when it happened." Hisashi replied with a shake of his head making Izuku sigh in disappointment. "How about you Inks, anything you can share on the latest case?"

"Nothing beyond its frustrating with all the red tape honey." Inko sighed with a soft smile. Both knew she couldn't talk about it but it didn't stop him trying just to get her riled up.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Hisashi uttered as he quickly started to rummage through one of his pockets before pulling out some tickets. "Tada! I won that lottery at work I was telling you about!"

"The trip to America one?" Inko asked.

"Yup, I was thinking since you've been run ragged that you and Izu may want to come with me?" Hisashi asked with a bright grin.

Inko sighed as she shook her head. "Sorry Hisashi, I'm just too busy and have to make in person appearances at the court house once a week for the next few months as part of this case. How about you and Izuku go, make it a boys trip?"

"What do you say champ, want to go on a America wide two week long fishing trip?" Hisashi asked.

"Yesyesyesyesyes!" Izuku pelted off as swung himself back and forth in his chair just from the force of him nodding.

"Well someone is sure excited." Hisashi laughed.

"Calm down Izuku." Inko tried to placate her hyped up son. "Or now desert."

"What?" A now thoroughly disappointed Izuku asked in a tone that made him seem like a kicked puppy.

"Oh yes, only good kids get watermelon icecream." Hisashi nodded wisely as he played along.

"I'll be good, I promise!" Izuku squeaked.

"I'm sure you will." Inko hummed, happy that they got Izuku to calm down enough to return to eating his dinner.

[Unknown location]

A pit of sand sat among a rind of rock, six massive sandstone pillars reached to the skies above forming a circle around the pit. A gust of wind blew back a layer of sand revealing an imprint in the sand of an island. Soft music could be heard playing.

"Gathered friends, listen once again to our tale of the Bionicle." A wise old voice spoke. "In the time before time, the Great Spirit descended from the heavens, carrying we, the ones called Matoran, to this paradise."

A tan coloured totem carved to resemble a mask was placed in the middle of the island shaped indent, several piles of glowing rocks were scattered around the totem in a rough circle but with no true pattern or group.

"We were seperate and without purpose, so the Great Spirit illuminated us with the three virtues, Unity, Duty and Destiny."

The scattered smaller rocks glowed a soft green as they started to gather into 6 distinct piles and stacked neatly before the first totem. Their piles were organised and each contained 5 rocks in total.

"We embraced these gifts and in gratitude, we named our island home Mata Nui, in honour of the great spirit himself."

A new totem descended from above this one twisted and red with spewing black smoke emanating from its very being. Unlike the first totem which landed with grace, this one instead slammed into the ground knocking loose several stone and spewing sand across the area, an unnatural shadow seemed to spread from its spot across from the main totem.

"But our happiness was not to last, for Mata Nui's brother, The Makuta, was jealous of these honours and betrayed him, casting a spell over Mata Nui, who fell into a deep slumber."

The shadow now reached the first totem which began to shake violently before a shadowy hand reached up, grabbing the first totem in a tight grip. Then with a thunderous crash that send debris flying, the totem was slammed into the ground hard, embedding it into the ground. The shadows now unimpeded spread across the island indent like mold, festing and reaching everywhere.

"And unleash them, he did..."

End.
