(Author's Note: Hello everybody. There's very little to say in this case, as it's only a VERY short one-shot that came to me out of literally nowhere.

I'll say this: I AM pretty happy to add something to the "Ed Edd n Eddy" archive. It was one of the shows that DEFINED my childhood and is, by far, my FAVORITE fictional universe of all time. Even if this is only a short one-shot, I'm still looking forward to doing more in the future.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy:)

It was a nice day in the town of Peach Creek. The sun was shining, there was a cool breeze running through, and it seemed like nothing could upset anyone living in the area. It was the kind of day that many hope for (especially after a long, frustrating week of work or school), yet never thought they would see. The kind of day where you could just do whatever you wanted to spend your time. The kind of day where everyone could enjoy themselves to the fullest.

"This is so BORING!"

…well, mostly everyone could enjoy themselves to the fullest.

Edd, also known as "Double D" to his friends (and pretty much everyone else), sighed, "Need I remind you, Eddy, that YOU were the one who got us all up this morning for your next "brilliant scam". And yet, we haven't moved in last-," Edd reached into his pocket and pulled out a golden watch on a chain, "-forty minutes. Some might say that YOU should have something in mind by now."

Eddy simply rolled his eyes in response, "Oh, can it Sockhead. Don't you think I'm trying here?!"

"Hey guys," the tallest of the trio, Ed, spoke up, arms behind his head as he lay on the sidewalk.

"What is it, Ed?" Eddy asked, face resting on his palms as he kept his gaze on the forward street.

"I've been thinking…what's the meaning of life?" The heads of both of his spun toward him so fast it's a miracle they didn't snap their necks.

"What/Excuse me?!"

"Like…do you think we were put here for a reason? That every human on Earth was born with a specific purpose? A destiny at play that we can never escape from? Or, are our lives defined by the choices we make? And, if that one, then what's the best way to live? Is it more important to have kids and do our part to continue the species? Work to make society as a whole better? Or…is it more important for us to follow our dreams? Walk the path that we choose for ourselves, regardless of what others may want from us?" Both of the taller boy's friends were left stunned, jaws to the ground and eyes looking like they were about to pop right out of their skulls.

"Ed," Edd slowly asked, "Are you…feeling alright?"

Ed sat up straight before he turned to stare at his friends with a blank expression. Seconds passed by in silence (causing the other two to grow genuinely concerned), until…

"Have you guys ever worn meat on your feet as slippers? They're SO cozy and warm!" Ed hugged himself tightly, eyes shut and a big smile on his face (with his tongue sticking out).

Edd let out a sigh as Eddy dragged his hand across his face. "Well…we certainly can't say that he's boring, can we Eddy?"

"I can say that he's an idiot, though."

(Author's Note: Annnnnnnnd scene!

Like I said, just a short stupid story that came to me out of nowhere. If it made someone laugh, or even smile, I'll consider it a success.

I am WHOLEHEARTEDLY of the opinion that, every once in a while, Ed would say something intelligent/philosophical out of nowhere...only lasting for a few moments before going back to normal. That's a headcanon I will define until I die (plus, it technically happened at the end of "High Heeled Ed").

Constructive criticism ONLY…no flames, please.

Review, Favorite, Follow, and I'll see you guys in the next story:)
