Sara: These two legendary heroes may not have the power or skill of their more famous fathers, but what they lack in power, they make it for it in heart and determination
Alisa: It's time to find which human/alien defender has what it takes to win! She's Vanessa, that's Alisa.
Vanessa: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win... a DEATH BATTLE.
Gohan is a Beast in DEATH BATTLE
(Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO - Main Theme (HQ OFFICIAL OST))
Vanessa: Son Goku, one of Dragon ball's strongest characters and icon of the franchise. He's famous for becoming the first Super Saiyan, going toe-to-toe with the God of Destruction Beerus and the first mortal to achieve Ultra Instinct which even the Gods of Destruction have trouble mastering. But every hero needs a legacy and today we're looking one of his two sons, Gohan.
Nakano: Gohan was born after Chi-Chi and Goku had gotten married. But whereas Goku prefers fighting and training, Chi-Chi prefers education above all else and forced Gohan to study. That is until Raditz came all along, revealed Goku's Saiyan heritage and kidnapped Gohan. In the end, Goku sacrificed himself to take his own brother out. But Piccolo saw firsthand how Gohan, merely 4 years old at the time, is able to land a serious blow to Raditz and decides to train him.
Sara: Piccolo eventually became a second father to Gohan until Goku's comeback, but still trains under the Namekian from time to time, though still put his education first and got married to Videl and had Pan.

Sara: It should come as no surprise that Gohan is incredibly skilled since he's trained by both Goku and Piccolo. In fact, Piccolo has stated Gohan has greater potential than Goku himself. He can also weaponize life energy commonly known as Ki.
Nakano: He can use Ki to unleash energy beams such as his iconic Masenko, the Kamehameha and the Special Beam Cannon, which is Piccolo's signature move. But of course, it's not Dragon Ball without transformations. Gohan can obviously use Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 which increases his power by 50 and another. But he's got two different forms as well: Ultimate and Beast Gohan. Ultimate is where he unlocks all of his potential which laid dormant due to his pacifist nature via Chi-Chi.
Vanessa: But the real show stopper is Beast Gohan, which he unlocks after supposedly witnessing Piccolo's death at Max Cell's hands similar to how he gained SSJ2 after Perfect Cell killed Android 16. His power skyrockets and he's been stated by Toriyama himself to be on the same level as Jiren, Ultra Instinct Goku and even Broly in that form, if not even stronger.

Beast Gohan matched Ultra Instinct Goku (DBS Manga)
Nakano: Gohan has proven that he has what it takes to be a member of the Z-Fighters. He dealt a huge blow to Raditz at 4 years old, humiliated Super Buu in their first fight and he's best Cell twice, one being the original and the other being a clone name Cell Max. Cell claimed that he had enough power to destroy the entire solar system, a claim that's backed by official guidebooks. And Cell Max, while lacking the original Cell's regeneration, is stronger than that.
Vanessa: And while he ultimately lost against Goku, Gohan was still able to hold his own against his father who was in Super Saiyan Blue. This is impressive because Super Saiyan God Goku and Beerus nearly destroyed Universe 7 with one of their punches, which is 1,505 times larger than our observable universe. And it took Goku adding Kaioken to his Blue form to beat Ultimate Gohan.
Popup: The shockwaves that were produced were as fast and equal to the force delivered from their clash, putting God Goku's speed at 118.25 sextillion times FTL.
Sara: Hell, in the Super Manga, Ultimate Gohan was even able to stalemate Kefla who, in the anime, was able to force Goku to use Ultra Instinct to beat her. Though Goku was already exhausted and beat after his fight with Jiren. Still, he held his own against a fusion of two Saiyans wearing the Potara Earrings, which combines their power levels.
Vanessa: And if that's not impressive enough, Beast Gohan is able to hold his own against Ultra Instinct Goku. You know, the same form that even Gods of Destruction aren't able to achieve easily and defeated Jiren, who shook the World of Void just by powering up.

And he would only train and fight to protect his loved ones or if necessary)

Nakano: But Gohan isn't completely unbeatable. Remember that Chi-Chi wants Gohan to have an education and thus he's not training all the time compared to the likes of Goku and Vegeta, which makes him a little rusty.
Sara: It also means he's less disciplined than Goku which makes him prone to underestimating opponents and losing his focus. Take the time he went up against Super Buu who absorbed Gotenks. Their first fight made him cocky enough to think he can best Buu a second time, only to get his ass whooped and absorbed as well.
Vanessa: He was even nearly killed by First Form Frieza. Frieza in his First Form, who was weaker than Super Perfect Cell prior to his Golden form. So yeah, kinda dropped the ball there guys.
Nakano: But when danger comes, Gohan would always be ready if he's needed. Threaten those he loves and you can be damn sure Gohan will unleash the Beast.
Gohan: Is that all you've got? Okay then. Guess it's my turn.
Mark Grayson is Invincible for DEATH BATTLE

Vanessa: Mark Grayson was like most teenagers you know of. He goes to school, had a girlfriend and working a part-time job. I say most because he had one thing different from other teens; he was the son of Omni-Man!
Sara: Mark is a human/alien hybrid from his human mother Debbie and Viltrumite father Nolan Grayson, who came Earth to serve. However, it wasn't until he accidentally throw a garbage bag into space did he discovered his powers and Nolan began training him to use it.
Nakano: But that's where things went so wrong. Shortly after discovering his pwoers, the Guardians of the Globe were ambushed and killed with only Omni-Man as the survivor, Amber leaving him after she got angry about Mark hiding his identity from. But worse was Omni-Man killed Immortal and was revealed to be the perpetrator of the Guardians' deaths.
Vanessa: Turns out, the whole "spreading peace" thing is a big, fat lie and that Viltrumites follow the "survival of the fittest" and were sent to other planets to conquer them in the name of their Viltrumite Empire. And Nolan wanted Mark to join her. Naturally, Invincible declined and was determine to protect Earth from Nolan. Buuuut it's obvious how their first fight went.

Vanessa: Damn.
Sara: And yet even after such a beating and Omni-Man questioning who will he have left after everyone dies, Mark states he'd still have him, which made Nolan have a change of heart and flee from Earth. But despite such events, he and Nolan reconciled in the future and prepared Earth for the oncoming Viltrumite invasion.
Invincible
Superhuman Strength: As a Viltrumite hybrid, Invincible is able to bench press 400 tons and is even capable of carrying large cruise ships which can weigh well over 100,000 tons
Superhuman Speed: Invincible can casually fly at speeds as fast as lightning as well as near the speed of light. Like his father and other Viltrumites, Invincible can cross interstellar distances at Massively FTL+ speeds
Superhuman Durability: Invincible has near-invulnerability which allows him to easily shrug off gun shots and even planetary explosions
Superhuman Endurance: Can cross interstellar distances in a single breath and can continue fighting with severe injuries and minimal rest
Regeneration: As a Viltrumite, he is capable of healing from deep as well as life threatening injuries that would easily kill a normal human
Longevity: The older Viltrumites get, the slower they age. His father Omni-Man claimed he would outlast everything and everyone he knew on Earth before he looked 30

Vanessa: I've previously stated that Viltrumites possess the raw strength of a Kryptonian with the mindset of a Saiyan. All of this this due to their Smart Atoms, which grants Mark abilities like super strength, speed and endurance. He can also fly and can resist extreme temperatures.
Nakano: Viltrumites are also known to get stronger if they survive a near-death experience like Saiyans and they can't catch Earth-born illnesses. Mark also has a healing factor that can kill most people as long as the heart or brain aren't damage.

Nakano: Invincible has taken on hordes Viltrumites, punched through Viltrum alongside Omni-Man and Allen, survived the Scourge Virus which was specifically designed to kill Viltrumites and killed General Thragg to avenge Nolan. Given that Thragg previously held his own against both at once and that Mark ultimately ended him, it's neutral he scales to his father. Omni-Man moved from Earth to another planet in under a week and fought Supreme to a draw.
Sara: Suprema, his sister, admits Supreme is far superior to her and she claims she can kickball a star which would put her power at 234 Zettatons of TNT.
Popup: Invincible also moved the Moon with The Tick, a feat worth 2.15 Yottatons of TNT.
Vanessa: Which also makes Mark comparable to Supreme and Suprema as well. He's even fought his alternate selves in the Invincible War, in which one of them has killed Spawn from his universe. you know, the guy who shook every creation such as the nine Hells and reality with a war cry after killing Malebolgia?
Weaknesses
His Smart Atoms have limits to the temperatures they can withstand
Weak to high frequency sounds that can cause him intense pain and even death
Even higher precision waves can lead to hallucinations or coma
His powers can be "dampened" with some technology
The Scourge Virus, an artificially engineered illness that infects Viltrumites and severely negates them of their powers resulting in coma and/or death. Mark was able to recover from this due to his royal bloodline and got his powers back a few days later.

Inherently quick to anger when he hears of news not pleasing to him
Sara: But Mark does have limits. His heat resistance can only take so much and high frequency sounds are extremely effective as it negates his flight. Plus his healing factor can be dampened if the heart or brain are damaged.
Vanessa: And at first Mark is reluctant to fight or even go all-out due to his human upbringing, though this has changed overtime. But he also has a bit of a temper if things went south.
Nakano: But in the end, Mark upheld Nolan's legacy after his death by slaying Thragg and becoming the new Viltrumite Emperor, creating an everlasting peace of 500 years into the future as opposed to the one of conquest his father had initially envisioned. Truly, Mark Grayson has more than lived up to his namesake of Invincible.
Invincible: I wouldn't try that... I'm Invincible.
Vanessa: All right, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Vanessa, Sara and Nakano: It's time... For a DEATH BATTLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Emerald Forest
(Verbing The Noun - Brandon Yates)
In the midst of the Emerald Forest, two streaks can be flying, one wearing blue and black and the other orange and blue. Fists fly as they traded blows at lightspeed before they locked hands with each other in a grappling move. One is Son Gohan in his Super Saiyan form and the other is Mark Grayson, known as Invincible.
Gohan: You're father has murdered thousands of people with no remorse! It's only a matter of time before you follow in his footsteps. I can't allow that!
Invincible: I told you that I've got nothing to do with what my father has done in the past! Besides, he already regrets his actions and trying to redeem himself.
But the Z-Fighter didn't listen before Gohan gets the upper hand and judo throws the half-Viltrumite down to the ground face first. Invincible got up and spat out dirt he got in his mouth and grits his teeth as he glares as at the son of Goku.
Invincible: Alright, time to show you why they call me "Invincible"!
FIGHT!
With a yell, Invincible flew up and delivers a stronger uppercut to Gohan's chest, making him spit out saliva from the punch as he follows it up with a vicious haymaker that sends Gohan spiraling up. Gohan recovers and blocks an incoming punch from Invincible before raising hi right knee to the Invincible's chest, knocking the wind out of him. He grabs Mark and spins him multiple times before tossing Mark away and cups his hands together.
Gohan: Kamehameha!
He fires his energy attack which hits Marks and sends him high in the air. Mark recovers and flies down back to throw a punch at Gohan's face, only for the Z-Fighter to duck and fire a blast to Mark's face, destroy half of his mask. Thinking quick, Invincible grabs the hand that shot him and delivers a powerful left hook that sends Gohan back followed by multiple jabs to the body.
Invincible then throws an uppercut to Gohan's chin, sending him up into the air before flying up in the air and returns the favor earlier by spin Gohan around.
Invincible: Had enough?!
Gohan: Not even close!
Gohan roars as he transforms into his Ultimate form, the energy emanating forces Mark to release the half-Saiyan and cover his face for protection.
Gohan: Masenko!
Gohan fires his signature attack which struck the distracted Invincible and plows him through three mountains, destroying them in the process. Not giving him opponent enough time, Ultimate Gohan then charges forward and grabs Invincible's face before grinding it against the dirt as he flew before picking him up and fires a ki blast to his face that sends him flying away. By this point the upper half of Mark's suit was gone but he 's far from down as he blocks a punch from Gohan and delivers a powerful right hook to Ultimate Gohan's side that made his spit saliva with a gasp.
Invincible: Bring it!
Invincible yells as he delivers lightspeed punches to Gohan and the half-Saiyan could barely react to all of them before Mark headbutts Gohan in the nose, drawing blood before Mark grabs him by the throat and with a yell, punches the half-Saiyan into a mountain. Feeling smug, Mark boasts a bit.
Invincible: How do you like me now?!
However that smugness went away when a roar ripples through the air and said mountain Gohan was hurled into explodes with blue and white energy. When it dissipates, it reveals Beast Gohan with purple and pink aura around him as his red eyes stare into Mark's black ones.
Invincible: Oh come on!
Frustrated, Invincible got serious and flies at Beast Gohan with a roar, cocking his fist back before delivering a powerful punch that sent a shockwave which destroys the nearby trees. However, Beast Gohan merely turns his head from the attack and moves his head back to stare down a stunned Mark.
Gohan: My turn.
Beast Gohan throws an arm forward and fires a powerful ki blasts that knocks a screaming Invincible back. He then teleports in the direction where Mark was headed before raising his knee and slams him up. He teleports above and delivers a double axe handle into the half-Viltrumite's chest, making him cough up blood as he spiral down.
Gritting his teeth, Mark recovers and flies back as and both human/alien fighters throw a punch that causes a ripple in the air. Then they became a white and blue blur as they threw everything with their fists. Gohan could definitely feel Mark was hurting him as he could feel the force, but Invincible fared no better as bruises form on the half-Viltrumite's body.
Gohan: *Thinking* Gotta end this now!
Gaining some distance, Beast Gohan fires multiple ki blasts at Mark's face. He raises an arm to block them all but when he lowers them Gohan was nowhere to be found.
Invincible: Hey! Where are you coward?! Gonna run away?!
That's when he notices a blue and white light with red lightning down below and saw Gohan with two fingers pressed to his forehead, charging an attack.
Invincible: Oh no you don't!
Invincible flies down as fast as he can with both fists forward, intent to ramming through the half-Saiyan. Gohan sees Mark coming at him, but thanks to the distraction earlier, he gains enough time to charge an attck and thrusts his arm out, unleashing his mentor Piccolo's signature attack.
Gohan: Special... Beam... Cannon!
A huge blasts of energy with spirals came at Mark, who was struck but was still heading towards Gohan. Both fighters yell at the top of their lungs as they intent to kill their opponent once and for all. Invincible was only a dozen feet away when the Special Beam Cannon won the struggle, overwhelming the half-Viltrumite and incinerating him on the spot. When it was done, Gohan sighed a relief as he powers down and falls on his back.
KO!
* Gohan does an Indian sits and winces at the astronomical damage done to the area.
* Remnant's of Invincible's suit flew with the wind.
Results
(Verbing the Noun again)
Vanessa: "Invincible" my damn ass.
Nakano: While Invincible put of one hell of a fight, Gohan simply outclassed him in a lot of ways. Invincible scales Omni-Man flying from Earth to another planet in a week but Gohan could scale to God Goku's shockwave punch with Beerus that nearly destroyed Universe 7. Invincible could move the Moon, destroy 1/3 of planet Viltrum and scale to Suprema's kickballing star feat. But Gohan as a teenager bested Cell, who had enough power to destroy the entire solar system. And Beast Gohan fought Ultra Instinct Goku, who could fight universe busters like Moro and Jiren, the latter who's considered to be far stronger than his Universe's God of Destruction.
Sara: Gohan also has a huge advantage with his ki attacks as he could simply use them at a distance or up close whereas Mark only relies on his fists. And while Mark does have a greater healing factor, it wouldn't do much against Gohan's greater overall superior strength and speed.
Popup: Gohan has defeated Cell whose regeneration surpassed that of Viltrimutes. Keep in mind that a Viltrumite's healing factor can be overtaxed if the heart or brain takes too much damage. No evidence suggests they can survive being completely vaporized.
Vanessa: "But wait, one of Mark's evil counterparts has killed Spawn in his timeline." Except there's no evidence that the Spawn that was killed is as powerful as the main one. And if we're adding different continuities, we might as well give Gohan Xenoverse and Heroes which just widens the gap further, given the all insane power levels and transformations there.
Sara: Now sure, Mark could beat Gohan if he was in base form only, but really, Gohan isn't that stupid to give Invincible the chance to deal serious blows to him while he's in base.
Nakano: Mark put up a good fight, but Gohan's transformations, power, speed and ranged attacks are just too much for the half-Viltrumite too handle.
Vanessa: I guess Gohan is the one who's truly Invincible.
Nakano: The winner is Gohan.

Ironically, both their fathers were once sent to conquer Earth before they turned good (Goku hit his head as a baby and Omni-Man redeemed himself after fighting Mark and leaving Earth)
