|Chapter Two|
The first night in separate bedrooms, on separate floors of the house, had to have been one of the worst nights when it came to the twins since they had started dating each other. They often would sneak into each other's bedroom and curl up together under the covers back in Phoenix. Their bedrooms would be left alone by Renee, and they could be themselves.
They knew they couldn't do this, not when they would have Charlie in the presence and not just Renee and Phil. They were still too busy in their first few months of marriage to pay attention which bedroom the twins should each be in, they were too giddy with being Mr. and Mrs. Dwyer.
Communicating through text messages was the only thing which kept the twins sane, throughout that night, as both of them would curl themselves up as much as they could into their blankets to have as much heat on them. They had forgotten how cold the house got and unless you were sitting around the lit fireplace you would get cold quite quickly. Another reason why they hated the weather here, they couldn't even curl into each other with a blanket wrapped around the both of them.
Bella climbed out of her bed after Charlie left the house, and slumped some, though she did stretch some and heard her back pop a little bit. She didn't bother to look into the closet yet to find what to wear, she would get something to eat and drink before she would go through the next stage of the morning.
Best to let one thing happen before another one could even spring up.
Otherwise, you'd get a really pissed off Bella and no one wanted a pissed off Bella.
Slowly heading down the long hallway, Bella barely paid attention to the fact the bathroom had already been recently used and how it still smells like hot steam. She didn't pay attention to how her brother's clothes were thrown haphazardly into the standing hamper in the corner of the bathroom, something Bella knew Charlie barely used to begin with. She was the one who was in charge of the laundry, so she should know the state of clean clothes in the house, but she had more important things to worry about at the moment than that stupid hamper with her brother's clothes in it.
Reaching the bottom step, Bella perked up a little as she smelt the heavenly scent of coffee.
She and Beau had their own coffee company they used, which happened to be back in Phoenix, and Beau had managed to go to the store and buy up as many bags of their favorite coffee grains to bring up to Forks. They'd have to end up ordering some online, but even then, they didn't know if the store would even do online shipping and delivery out of state.
Passing by the outdated furniture, Bella blushed as she noticed Beau standing in the kitchen, most likely he was standing in front of the coffee machine. His hair was somewhat combed down despite there being a cowlick here or there that needed to be put in its exact spot. He had on one of Bella's favorite shirts for him, a blue cotton quarter sleeved sweater, which would bring out the color of his eyes. A pair of jeans he had bought on clearance during a holiday sale last year. Brown hiking boots he often wore whenever he would take Bella to the national parks in Arizona.
It didn't help that his shirt made him look better, highlighting his figure, while he was the one who had gotten the butt between them. It made him look even more delectable, with how he seemed to be taunting her. He knew she loved it when he would heighten his figure.
As if he sensed her, Beau turned to look at her, smiling at the sight of his sister standing awkwardly in the open doorway with one of his old middle school shirts she had stolen from him years ago that fit her still, cotton pajama pants with a hole or two on the side (a sign of her needing to get new pajama pants but she didn't care for shopping, like him), and fuzzy socks that were a vibrant color. Her hair was a matted mess on her head, and there were dark lines etched underneath her eyes. Said beautiful brown eyes looked as if she would murder you if you stood in her way of coffee.
Pouring a cup of coffee into one of the random coffee cups Charlie had collected over the years, he silently handed the cup to Bella once it was full of their favorite coffee. Bella sighed in relief after she blew on the coffee and took a long sip. Her shoulders loosened up and she barely paid attention to Beau sitting his own coffee cup down onto the counter before he wrapped his arms around her, lightly pulling her back into his chest. He kissed her on the forehead, standing there with his arms around her and eyes staring at those ugly retro wooden paneled kitchen walls around him. He let her go a moment later though, having decided he would have his fill of her for now.
"So, what are your thoughts when it comes to school? We'll barely have time to get alone with each other like we were able to at Hamilton High. Back there no one cared about us, we were just other juniors in our class. Here we are the chief of police's precious children," Bella muttered when she lowered the mug of coffee, her fingers tapping against the side of the mug.
She had to be careful and pay attention or else she could dunk her finger into the coffee and burn herself. She had done that before; she was pissed off for the next couple days. Beau had wisely left her alone unless she had decided to speak to him.
"We can't do anything, amour. Like you said, we're the precious children of Chief of Police Charlie Swan. We won't be able to be free with each other. If there is anything worthy in front of them to talk about then they will. One of those things would be how we are always attached to the hip, more than normal siblings are."
Bella's fingers tightened on the mug of coffee, and jumped out of the way when the handle came clean off of the mug. The steaming hot coffee hit the linoleum flooring, which in return made Bella turn her shocked brown irises to the blue ones that were looking at her with exasperation.
He motioned for her to go upstairs and get ready for the day, before he began the process of cleaning up the coffee and gathering up the multiple shattered pieces. They were just grateful it wasn't one of Charlie's favorite mugs, it was just one of the numerous coffee cups he bought in California during their court mandated visits.
Otherwise, she would feel bad at him.
Pulling out one of her Abercrombie and Fitch burgundy blouses, Bella put it on after she put on a white eyelet lace neckline camisole. Smoothing down her blouse, Bella noted how it softly accentuated her chest along with her sides. She added low rise light washed blue jeans, and a pair of her favorite black and white simple converses. She put her hair up in a messy bun with a few pieces of her hair falling in front of her brown eyes. She knew whenever she would wear this type of bun, she would make Beau want to cover her neck in hickies. The scarf she added at the last minute also happened, knowing she would tease Beau with it during the day.
Draping the scarf in an artistic manner, Bella brushed her teeth and put on some of her body spray she had bought the last time she had been at the outlet mall. It was just some generic spray that wasn't too strong. She almost snorted when she saw the smell of the body spray on the label.
Lavender.
Seems she subconsciously went towards things purple.
Going downstairs once she had grabbed her small brown leather satchel, and a gray sweatshirt to put over whenever the air conditioning would get too much for her. She had to be careful going down the stairs, but when she got to the last few steps a pair of arms reached out and wrapped around her. She squeaked as she sat down on her feet. She brought her head up, noting how Beau was arching one of his eyebrows up, his blue eyes darkening at the scarf around her.
"You know what wearing a scarf does to me. In fact…I need to make sure you remember you're mine," Beau breathed, his head leaning down so he pressed his forehead against hers.
His hand reached out and let his fingers brush against the end of her scarf before yanking it off, it fell down onto the wooden floorboards. She opened her mouth, as if to say something about the scarf being a statement piece, only for Beau to press his lips right underneath her ear. She gasped as his teeth brushed against one of the most sensitive parts of her body.
"N-Not f-fair," Bella breathed aloud, loosening up like jelly as Beau held her against him.
She felt her neck crane in whatever direction he wanted it to, his lips and teeth working against her skin as though he was a conductor conducting a symphony. She knew her knees were becoming weak, and if he wasn't holding her, he would have had her fall onto the ground in a heap. She could only rest her arms against his shoulder blades.
Once he had gotten his fill of her, Bella felt him move away from her.
He brought his hand up and brushed his fingers against her lips before smiling at her. "You might need to go upstairs and redo your hair and your scarf."
Bella gave him a light glare, before she went back upstairs to where the bathroom was.
She entered the bathroom and almost went to yell at Beau for the mess he had done to her.
Half of her hair was out of her bun and there were bright, deep splotches of hickies that were spread across her neck. There were some bruises which were beginning to darken. She didn't want to cover them with concealer, but she knew she would have to. She sighed as she did so, wishing she could just let her hickies reveal themselves so people would know she was taken. She had only been in the presence of Beau and Charlie at the moment, so maybe it was a wise thing she would be putting concealer upon her neck after all.
Heading downstairs, Bella sighed before she went up to Beau.
Stepping on her tiptoes she leant up and kissed him on the cheekbone, sighing happily when he kissed her back gently. Pulling away, she sat her feet back onto the ground and went to the front door. She opened the door and shivered some from the freezing temperature, jealous once again at how the weather was currently down in Phoenix. She had to be here and experience the freezing temperature and most likely within the next few days there would be snowfall. How lovely…not.
"I'll drive us to school," Beau announced, as if letting his sister know there was no way she would tell him she would drive. She merely shrugged her shoulders, as if letting him know it wasn't too deep. She had more important things to worry about, such as letting her new classmates not know about her having an incestuous relationship with her own twin.
"Sure. Couldn't care less."
Going over to the front passenger seat, Bella opened the door and hopped up, before getting in and shutting the door behind. She started to buckle herself into the seat when Beau climbed into the truck, having locked the front door of the house behind him. He threw his backpack into the backseats of the truck, while Bella decided to keep her backpack sitting on the floorboard in front of her. She was too lazy to throw it into the backseats with Beau's.
Forks High school happened to be located off the highway.
The school looked like a collection of matching houses, with overhead pathways to each building so no one would have to worry about getting rain on them constantly. There were trimmed bushes that lined each side of the pathways and benches every now and then on the pathways for those who wanted to take a break and sit down. There were picnic tables that were located throughout the campus and very few but old pine trees that were scattered throughout the campus. It was everything that wasn't how Hamilton High was back in the city.
Pulling up to the front office building, Beau parked in one of the random open parking spots and when both of them got out, Bella glanced around and noticed that at least this separate parking lot was a little way away from the main parking lot. She didn't have to deal with having a bunch of teenagers come running up to her and Beau, overcrowding them and demanding to know things about them immediately. She could also tell Beau must have been thinking the same thing.
"Everything is going to be okay, mon Coeur (my heart)," Beau whispered, glancing around before coming over and squeezing his sister's hand in his. Bella nodded her head, took a deep breath, and marched forward to where the front door of the front office was. Beau followed behind her, a small smile on his face as he looked at his one love with happiness.
The inside of the office had orange flecked commercial carpet which needed to be severely replaced. There were padded folding chairs on either side of the office, with potted plants that were throughout the room. Too many to make things feel peaceful, it was almost as if the receptionist had a hoarding problem with plants and wanted to use every crevice which was available for her. The room was cut in half with an oak desk, which had wire baskets on the top counters, while behind the counters there was a somewhat modern computer. There was also a large, red haired woman wearing glasses that matched her sweater (a deep royal purple).
The woman beamed brightly when she looked up from what she was researching on the computer, before speaking, "welcome! You must be Chief Swan's twins! Beaufort and Isabella Swan."
For a split second the woman swore she could see the twins having one of their eyes twitches in sync at having their full first names being spoken. She dismissed it and instead cleared her throat, "let me just get your schedules and your slips of papers you need your teachers to sign. I even have you some maps for you to know your way around school. It shouldn't be so hard, after all, the school is nowhere as big as Hamilton High was in Phoenix."
Thankfully, it didn't take long for the red-haired woman to come bounding into the room from a separate side room with their schedules and other items they needed. The twins thanked her politely before they left the office and checked their schedules to see if they had any classes together.
Bella noted how she had English with Mr. Mason first, Government with Mr. Jefferson second, Trig with Mr. Varner for third, Spanish with Mrs. Goff for fourth, the sole lunch period for the whole school, Biology with Mr. Banner for sixth, and Gym with Coach Clapp for seventh.
Beau on the other hand had Government with Mr. Jefferson for first, Trig with Mr. Varner for second, English with Mr. Mason third, Spanish with Mrs. Goff for fourth, the sole lunch period, Gym with Coach Clapp for sixth, and Biology with Mr. Banner for seventh. They only seemed to share Spanish with each other along with lunch. Everything else they didn't share classes with each other.
Bella almost crinkled the schedule in her hands due to stress, only for Beau to shush her gently. "Everything will be okay, Bells. If you end up getting through the day without wanting to tear someone's head off or run to me, I'll reward you."
Bella blushed as she knew what he meant, and she felt her panties dampen at the promise of her brother placing his head between her legs. It was unfair how he would do this to her, make her think these things at the most inappropriate times. She shot him a look, as if letting him know she would not forget him doing this, before she stalked forward.
As Bella went into the English building and Beau headed towards the Math building, she noted how there was this porcelain-colored blonde girl making her way towards the first building with a pale and light brown-haired girl next to her. The both of them were conversing with each other quite intently, the blonde girl being much taller than the brunette. They acted as if they were conjoined sisters, they were so in sync with each other over everything.
Mr. Mason ended up being a tall, balding man with an intense passion towards all things classic literature. Bella knew she would find a kindred spirit when she handed him the permission slip and didn't call her Isabella either, merely calling her Miss Swan and asking if she had a nickname. She also noted they were going over the Bronte Sisters, Shakespeare, Chaucer, and Faulkner. He was an overall nice man who ended up being a teacher she didn't have to worry about having to go to for her first period of the day. She could start off her day quite okay.
As she was heading towards the Government class in the Social Studies building, she could see Beau being stopped by a gangly boy with skin problems and oil black hair. He had a camera strapped around his neck and it didn't take a genius to know this must have been a kid from the Newspaper Club wanting an article on her and Beau. She was just glad this boy had gotten to Beau first and not her, and from the sudden glance from Beau from feet away she could tell he didn't find the whole thing amusing and wished for her to be the one dealing with the kid.
Nothing special happened with Mr. Jefferson.
He held an appropriate interest in Government and didn't seem to hold it over someone when they didn't know an answer to a question. He did ask Bella a few questions and even though he kept things professional and only called everyone by their surnames things weren't too stiff. Bella just was happy he wasn't scolding her because she hadn't gotten the answer right (she swore she studied for Government all the time, but this was not a subject she thrived in).
Trig with Mr. Varner was honestly the worst class so far.
Bella had never liked math; it had been a mortal enemy of hers since as far back as she could remember. So having a math teacher who made her introduce herself to the rest of the class meant he would end up being on her shit list. There was also the fact he said there were no nicknames in the classroom, nor would there be any talking unless he gave permission for them to do so. She tripped on her way towards her desk and was able to correct herself in time, a miracle in itself, before she would fall and hit her head on the corner of the desk.
Her next class would be her favorite so she could be next to her brother (who was the most important person in her world). She and Beau knew a bunch of Spanish due to the fact their neighbors were often Latino or Spanish and they would babysit their children. It was common for people to know Spanish a little bit down in Phoenix.
She had to keep from jumping in excitement when she saw Beau standing outside of their Spanish class, head tucked down and blushing brightly as Mrs. Goff was speaking to him. He let his eyes flicker away from the short woman, his blue eyes twinkling in warmth when he saw his sister. He arched one of his eyebrows at Bella, as if asking her if she really was checking him out in the open hallway. She blushed too and ducked her head, before shuffling forward.
Reaching Beau and Mrs. Goff, Bella had barely stood in front of them when Beau reached his hand out and placed it onto Bella's mid back. His fingers rubbed against her back in a soothing manner, as if letting her know he would tell her what had happened so far in the school day when they would have lunch. That was, if they were able to have time to talk to each other about their days so far. They would probably end up being overrun with their new classmates.
Bella noted how that brunette girl she had seen earlier on campus was in her Spanish class, and she also had been in her Trig class. She had forgotten the math class since she had to focus on not having a panic attack. She always had her brother by her side and he would run his fingers through her hair and give her kisses across her face. She had to imagine it the entire time Mr. Varner was talking about formulas and all other stupid math related things with too much enthusiasm.
Spanish ended and soon Bella moved so she was standing next to Beau, the both of them moving their hands in a way someone wouldn't notice. Their pinky fingers intertwined together, just in time for that brunette girl to come bounding up, greeting them and telling them her name was Jessica Stanley. Neither of them had time to tell her they preferred their nicknames before Jessica began to motion for them to follow her to the cafeteria.
Bella noticed as they went towards the cafeteria how there was a nice silver Volvo sitting in the student parking lot, along with an all terrain white jeep with massive tires. They were completely alien compared to the normal cars gathered around them. Back in Phoenix they would see jeeps all the time, and maybe a few sports cars but here it was all lemons and average cars. Just another reminder how they were someplace completely different from Phoenix. They were almost like the new shiny cars in the parking lot, and everyone was gathered around them to learn more about them.
Jessica opened the cafeteria door, sending out a whoosh of air conditioning, which in return made both twins flinch from the freezing temperature. Jessica didn't bat an eyelash at the cold. She was too accustomed to the temperature change. The twins could only hope they could do the same thing in time, but probably not.
"Let's go get our food and then I can show you to our table. There's my bestie Lauren Mallory, then there is my ex boyfriend Mike Newton, and his best friend Tyler Cowley. There's also Angela Weber, she's the Lutheran Minister's daughter and then there's Eric Yorkie. He's in the Newspaper Club with Angela. Angela mostly writes the articles and Eric does the pictures," Jessica rambled, waving her hands all around as she incessantly allowed them to know she was the chatterbug of the group.
Once they had gotten and paid for their food, Jessica brought them to the round middle table of the cafeteria. Lauren Mallory was already sitting at the table and was stabbing some of the food on her plate with disinterest. She was the girl they had seen earlier on campus. The guy on the other side of the table had blond gelled spiky hair, most likely inspired by MTV, and had a football jacket draped over his shoulders. He was the ex boyfriend, Mike Newton. Next to him was a black guy reading a sports magazine, Tyler Cowley. Eric Yorkie (the boy Bella saw was messing with Beau earlier with his camera), was speaking to a cute girl with clear framed glasses. She had a silver cross resting over her handmade pink sweater. She had her own camera in her hands and a spiral notebook out, color coded and multiple sparkly rainbow ink pens on display next to the spiral notebook.
Plopping down next to each other before Jessica could get in between them, both twins didn't look too impressed with the food on the cafeteria trays. Instead, they put held hands under the table, smiling at the little comfort they could have with each other. Beau rubbed his thumb against her wrist, as though letting his sister know he was there for her.
"Oh my god, the Cullens are looking at you."
The twins turned, noting how Jessica had dropped the french fry she was holding, it plopped back down onto the cafeteria table. The twins both shot each other with an unimpressed look at the same time, able to keep from rolling their eyes at the last minute. Not that Jessica Stanley would notice their looks, she was too busy staring at a table behind them.
Turning their heads in the direction of where the Cullens were, the twins felt their eyes widen at the six pairs of golden eyes staring at them. Behind them Jessica began to speak, even though it was almost as if they were underwater. Still, they could hear what she was saying.
"The two on the far left of the table are Edward and Edythe Cullen. They are twins, and people think they are together but we don't have any evidence. I mean gross, right? To be with your own blood," Jessica stated, her voice becoming disgusted near the end.
Edward and Edythe both seemed to be speaking in their own language.
With their reddish-brown bronze hair that was slightly curly, their large golden irises had dark bruises under their eyes. They had pale skin, so pale it was almost blue, sharp features in the right place on their faces.
Edythe had her curly hair cascading down her back and there were light eggshell silk ribbons keeping her side pieces tied back. She was wearing a white silk blouse with a blue peacoat over her shoulders, designer dark washed jeans, and a pair of brown ankle boots. She had a few gold bracelets that were around her wrist, which jingled and shot out little rays of sunlight when she moved her wrist a certain direction. She was also looking at Edward with that secret admiration, one which the Swan twins often gave to each other.
Edward had his hair a stylish, artistic mess on his head. The sides of his hair were buzzed a little bit so the middle part of his hair fell in a twist of curls. He had on a white sweater, dark washed jeans, and brown loafers. There was a Rolex watch that was on his wrist, and it was obvious the peacoat his sister was wearing belonged to him. He was staring at Bella with an intensity that overwhelmed her, while Edythe seemed to be doing the same thing with Beau.
"The next two are Jasper Hale and Alice Cullen. Jasper is one of the Hale Twins, and he's a senior. Alice is a junior like us and Cullen Twins. Apparently they are together, together. I mean it's still weird but at least it's not like they are actually related," Jessica said next, seeming to loosen up some when she was talking about anything other than the odd relationship the Cullen Twins had.
Jasper Hale with his canary, wavy hair that fell to his lean but still somewhat broad shoulders (they were a little more broader than Edward). He had on a military green jacket, generic shirt, dark washed jeans, and a pair of fashionable boots. He had on a leather bracelet around his left wrist, and like the Cullen twins he had the same golden eyes and bruises underneath his eyes. He was glaring down at the food in front of him, as if it had murdered his whole family.
The girl next to him was a dwarf, her obsidian hair falling in a wilder mess upon her head. It was the wildest one out of all of her siblings, and she was so tiny it was almost comical with how much taller her boyfriend/adoptive brother was. She had on a pastel pink graphic sweater with a cartoon black coffin and a black ribbon above the coffin. It said CULT LEADER in the same color as the graphic sweater background. She had on a black gothic skirt that fell mid thigh–a lace overskirt with a simple black underskirt. Fishnet black leggings and chunky black boots with pastel pink ribbons finished off her ensemble. Her fingernails were the same pastel pink, they were long and almost seemed as if they would cut your throat.
The last two happened to be the other half of the Hale Twins, and the senior adoptive brother of Alice and the Cullen Twins. The other Hale Twin happened to be a girl, Rosalie Hale, and she had warm golden hair that fell down to the divet of her butt. She had on a black thick hoodless sweater, a gray sweatshirt above which was cotton and tied around her neck in a stylish manner (she had this preppy athletic look going on with her), black leggings and the latest Nike sports shoes. She had her hair tied back in dutch french braids.
The eldest senior classman was Emmett Cullen.
He had on a similar ensemble as his girlfriend/adoptive sister. There was a white sports jacket over a gray hoodie, black sweatpants and matching Nike sports shoes. He had on a sideways baseball cap on his head, covering his black curly hair. He was the most athletic one out of the bunch, when it came to his figure. He had an international sports car magazine in front of him, he nudged Rosalie to look at him again so they could go over which car they liked the most.
"So…what's the deal with them? Other than the obvious fact they are dating each other?" Beau probed, making Jessica light up when she heard this.
"Well they came down here from Alaska two years ago. They were adopted by the best doctor in town, Dr. Carlisle Cullen. He's super yummy but he has a wife that is a house architect. Good thing she's a hottie. They are super rich too and I tried to get together with Edward but his sister looked like she wanted to cut me," Jessica muttered, twirling her plastic fork in her hand before she stabbed it down into the meatloaf. She sighed.
Silently, Bella and Beau wondered how the rest of the day would be like and if they would have any of the odd family members in their final two classes of the day.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: can it be...Edward and Edythe are mates? Could be part of the reason why the Cullens accept Beau and Bella...
as always: Twilight doesn't belong to me.
