Your school is big…" Deku said. "Too many people."
"Yeah, but you get used to it," replied Kuri.
"So…about your friends…" Deku said. "What kind of people are they?"
"Danny, Ben and Robin are my best friends," Kai replied. "I try not to have too many friends. You've met them all. What do you think?"
"Ben has a BIG personality; he reminds me of a friend," Deku said. "Danny seems like a nice guy; and Robin and I probably have a lot in common."
Deku sighed. Kuri just stared at him.
"You could tell all that after just one day?" Kuri asked.
"I've been told that I'm very observant," Deku said. "It's people's powers that I notice, mostly. Something else I've been wondering…are you and Robin…together?"
Kuri blushed. "Nah. Just roommates. Raven, Beastboy, Starfire, and Cyborg live there too. They are all in class 1B, but Beastboy is in our class.."
"Good for you!" Deku smiled. "So where are your friends right now?"
"I'm waiting for Robin. As for Danny and Ben, they probably had to go home so they won't be late for—ah, work."
"What do you mean work?" Deku replied.
"Huh?" Kuri said. "Oh…nothing."
"Well, I'm going to the library, okay?" Deku said.
"Okay. Oh…Robin and I will be home late."
"Why?" Deku asked.
"We have to work tonight," she said, then turned and saw Robin. "Ah! Robin."
She smiled, and they got in the car.
"Do you need a ride?" Kuri asked.
"I have my own mode of transportation." Deku smirked.
Xxx
"Can't this van go any faster?" said the masked boy who was handcuffed in the back.
Kuri sighed. "No, now please shut up."
The boy smirked. "You wish. I didn't commit a crime, you know."
Kuri glared at him. "Right now I really don't care."
The boy raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? What's so important?"
Kuri smirked. "Catching Loki."
The boy stiffened. "Loki…the god?! That…That's crazy!"
He tried to wriggle out of his handcuffs.
"It won't work," said Kuri.
The boy glared at her. "That's what you think."
A smoke screen developed in the backseat.
"Try all you want, it still won't work," Kuri said, laughing.
The van stopped.
Kuri smiled. "Now we just wait, and watch." She walked over to stand behind Robin and look at the screens with him.
"Who are you, anyway?" Robin asked the boy.
"Call me Zu," replied the boy. "Is it the real…Loki?"
"If you are who we think you are, then you know exactly who he is," replied Robin.
"You've…heard of me?" Zu asked.
"That's irrelevant…" Robin responded. "Where is he?"
The back door to the van suddenly opened, and an officer stepped in.
"Titans," said the officer. "It is past the appointed time and Loki hasn't shown up. The Ring of Solitude is safe."
"Actually, Loki did show up," Robin said.
"What?" the officer said.
"Nice try Loki, now show yourself," replied Robin.
Loki removed his disguise. Zu's eyes widened. He looked…like a real god!
"Very good Robin," Loki said. "You knew it was me. Now hand over the real Ring of Solitude."
Where's the popcorn? Zu thought. This is like an action movie.
Zu sighed, and used BlackWhip to remove the handcuffs, backing up against the wall.
"Who said Robin had it?" Kuri said.
Loki looked over at Kuri, and noticed that she had the ring on her finger. "Well then I guess I'll just take it and be on my way."
He reached for it.
"NO!" Kuri yelled, grabbing the ring.
Okay, enough sitting on the sidelines, Zu thought, and jumped in between Kuri and Loki. "LAY OFF! Stay away from my…friend!"
Loki looked at Kuri. "You have friends?"
"Loki, you are such a jerk! You always were!" Kuri grabbed his arm, turning him blue, and he jerked back.
"Whoa!" Loki exclaimed. "I haven't seen sorcery like that since…"
"Asgard," Kuri said, and flipped her hands. "I-RU! Fire!"
Flames shot out at Loki. Was that her quirk?
"Will you stop that?" Loki said, dodging again. "Wait a second…Kuri?"
"You're an idiot, Loki," Kuri replied.
Zu got in the way and tried to punch Loki. Loki caught his fist, however.
"Time to get over-clocked, hero." Loki smirked as a blast of magic hit Zu and knocked him to the ground.
Zu fell to the ground suddenly. His quirks…burned… "K-Kuri…It…h-hurts…"
"H-How do…y-you know…my name?" Kuri recognized the voice at last. "Deku? Why would you…"
"Never mind that!" exclaimed Robin. "Are you okay?"
"Does i-it look…l-like I'm okay?"
"Sorry, standard question," Robin said softly. "H-Here, let me help you up."
Robin reached out and started to pull Deku up.
"N-No p-please don't—" Deku broke off, crying out in pain.
"Well at least I'm not getting burned," Loki said.
"Shut up, Loki, this isn't about you!" Kuri said, hot tears falling down her cheeks.
"Kuri…you're…crying?" exclaimed Loki in surprise.
"Shut up…" Kuri knelt and took Deku in her arms. "Robin do something!"
"I'm trying!" Muttered Robin as he tried to contact a time related hero.
"Nnn…" Deku said, his BlackWhip starting to stir as he started to float.
"Don't lose control, Deku!" Robin yelled.
"I…I'm sorry, Kuri…" Deku said, as his quirk exploded out of him.
Just then a gold barrier went around them and a creature like a giant mechanized clock was next to him.
"Close Call Ben!" Kuri called.
"Clockwork is never late!" Ben, for it was indeed he, said as time slowed and Deku's quirk went back to normal.
Loki cursed under his breath.
Another hero landed off the building. "Were those webs I saw?" He grinned. "Long time no see!"
"Hello Peter—er, Spider-Man," replied Kuri. "I thought you were dead."
"Well you thought wrong," Peter replied, grinning.
"The real Spider-Man?!" Deku gushed, wanting to run up but still wiped from his power.
"Hey, guess what," Loki said, his eyes lighting up. "I'm gonna destroy you all. Kuri, you remember…what a destructive idiot I am."
Loki began firing magic at all of them. Robin left the van, and Spider-Man and Sera Vee (Kuri) jumped out the back. Loki stepped out himself, and the engine caught fire, and the van exploded.
Kuri calmed a bit, and turned to Loki. "Everytime…you escape without a scratch. Still living off a human, ne?"
"Well we know you are," said Loki. "But I don't feel like attacking you today."
"Well…don't you wonder who Deku's alter ego is?" Kuri said, smirking.
"I wonder who yours is," replied Loki seriously.
Loki leaned forward and whispered to Sera Vee. "Do you still think you can save everyone…even that cursed hero who is facing death?"
Kuri leaned back against a building, nervously. "…yes."
Loki just smiled. "Then I will be seeing you all…very soon." He leaned over the panting Deku. "And perhaps you shouldn't grow complacent…especially when Japan's suffering his forfeit, little cursed hero."
"W-What?" Deku snarled, a bit breathless.
Ben and Peter looked completely shocked at the entire thing. As Loki disappeared, Kuri growled and reached into the empty space.
Kuri helped Deku to his feet. "Worry not. All of us are on your side Deku."
"Yeah!" Peter said. "And I'm psyched to meet another web-style hero!"
Deku's fanboy gene went into overdrive and he ran forward.
"OMG Spider-Man!"
