Chapter 6: Escape:
Fédora's POV:
I was in my room when the Tsar came in. "I had it made," says the Tsar. I then began to cry. "Oh, you're sad. Well, in my defense, you literally asked for it."
"And... what of my Father," I asked.
"Oh, well, he told me not to skin that mule... so I had to get rid of him. Now he's with his wife!" I was horrified. "And don't even think about making any more ridiculous demands! Because you said this would be it!" He then shuts the door.
. . .
I looked at the cloak. Then I realized what the Lilac Fairy was telling me! I put on the cloak, and I snuck out.
. . .
I was sneaking...
"Hey, guards, there's a thief that's... trying to break out," says Putilova, "I... don't know what's happening here."
I then put the hood down. "It's me," I said.
"Fédora?"
"Did you hear," I asked.
"Yeah, you were right to reject that Tsar," says Putilova, "he killed your father!"
"Now I know what the cloak is for," I said, "I must sneak out, disguised!"
"And you don't think he's going to recognize the cloak he had made," asks Putilova.
"I have to try something," I said.
Putilova sighs. "Just get out of here!"
I hugged her and then I left.
. . .
Now, I just need to figure out where I'm going!
. . .
I then started wandering the woods until I fell.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm just lost," I said.
"I see. I'm Grafov."
"I'm... uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh... Donkeyskin."
"Odd name. Perhaps the Grand Duke can help you."
. . .
He then took me to meet the Grand Duke. I saw him and... he was so handsome... but he was also so married. Just my luck.
"I thought we could help... well... I'm pretty sure it's a woman," says Grafov.
I must be cloaked that good. I then fell to the ground. I was feeling ill.
"Hang on," says the Grand Duke, "take these leaves!"
"Leaves?" I took them and... I was feeling better. "What?"
"I call them snake leaves because a snake gave me the idea," says the Grand Duke, "I used them to revive my wife from the Dead."
"And now, look at me," says the Grand Duchess.
"That's amazing," I said.
"I would love to help you," says the Grand Duke.
"Maybe we can give her a job," says the Grand Duchess.
"Very well, what do you say," asks the Grand Duke.
"UUUUUUUUUmmmmmmmmm... yes," I said. Working for a married man I'm infatuated with? What is wrong with me?
