Chapter 10: The Third Night:

Grigori's POV:

I entered the kitchen. "Your wife mad again," asks Donkeyskin, "was she always like this?"

"Well... perhaps you should know... she agreed to marry me in exchange for an odd agreement," I said.

"What was it," asks Donkeyskin.

"If one of us were to die, the other must be buried alive with her," I said, "that's how I learned about the snake leaves!"

There was a pause. "Well... it's a good idea to keep those leaves around," says Donkeyskin, "she's an interesting woman."

"That maiden... she keeps ruining my marriage," I said, "but this time, I only danced with her because I just learned she's from the kingdom that was destroyed!"

"What if she made that up," says Donkeyskin.

"What," I asked.

"Perhaps she was just tricking you," says Donkeyskin, "I would stay away from her."

"Perhaps you are right," I said, "I can always count on you."

Grafov's POV:

I was cleaning up Grigori and Varushkina's room when I found a bottle of wine. "That would explain the headaches," I said, "I should talk to her." I then realized it's from the Slattuigia Kingdom. "That's interesting."

. . .

I was walking down the halls when I heard something. I peeked into a room and I saw the Grand Duchess and Tsar Mukhin and...

Grigori's POV:

It was time for the third ball. "Varushkina's having another headache," I said, "I wonder what's going on."

"I have a guess," says Grafov.

Then the maiden came in. This time, her dress was as bright as the sun. She then walked over to me. "May I have this dance," she says, "I understand if you were to say no."

"I'm sorry," I said, "but I can't."

She then looks at Grafov. "What of you?"

"Actually... you two should dance," says Grafov.

"What," we both said.

"Trust me," says Grafov, "go on!"

"But what of my wife," I asked.

"Oh, I know what to do," says Grafov.

We then danced.
