Chris's moans fill the air. Her muscles spasm as Street brings her through the gentle aftershocks of her orgasm. His lips are as soft on her inner thighs as the pillows underneath her, and her fingers slowly loosen their grip on his hair. When she opens her eyes, early Sunday morning sun filters in through the slats in their blinds, the dust floating in the air like sparkles. Their clothes from the previous night are strewn around the room, and the memory brings a smile to her face that widens when he comes out from under the covers, wiping his jaw with the back of his hand.

"Good?" Chris murmurs with a smirk. She lets go of the covers to hold the back of Street's neck instead, pulling him in for a kiss.

"Good," he says against her lips. His body hovers over hers for a moment longer to take her in before he rolls onto his back and wraps an arm around her shoulders. On her side, Chris cradles his jaw and settles one of her legs between his, their ankles interlocked.

"I love you," he presses a kiss to her hairline and reaches his other arm out to feel around the nightstand for his phone. Checking the time, he sets it down and relaxes back onto the mattress.

"And I love Sundays."

Laughing softly, Chris agrees. She traces her eyes over his face. The curve of his nose and eyelashes, the bow of his lip, the dip of his dimples. A blush creeps up her neck when his eyes flick over and catch her staring, but she doesn't care. The way the light hits her face makes her look like an angel. He saves the image in his mind.

"I love you, too," she whispers, her thumb petting his cheek. "What do you want to do today?"

Street shrugs. It isn't often they both have a completely free day, and it sinks into him how much he wants every Sunday to be like this. Her hand slides from his jaw to rest on his chest, face nuzzling into the space between his shoulder and collarbone, and he splays his fingers where they lie on her bare back so he can hold as much of her as possible.

"Marry me?"

The words slip out before he means them to, but once they're in the air Street feels how right they are, so he doesn't backtrack. He feels Chris still for a lingering moment, and then her eyes are on him, skeptical until their gazes meet. The corners of her lip quirk up.

His voice is warm and steady when he speaks. Chris freezes at first, shock splashing over her. Regaining herself, she props herself up on his chest so she can see his face, and he's smiling at her something perfect. His eyes are sparkling in the soft light, eyebrows slightly raised, with not a trace of doubt on his face. She feels her body relax.

"Okay." She says with an easy smile. "But the courthouse is closed on Sunday."

Street chuckles at her teasing tone. He tilts his chin down to meet their lips, and when they part, Chris stays where she is on his chest.

"Not today, then, but soon." He counters, Chris nodding in agreement.

"We're engaged," she says. The words feel foreign in her mouth, but take the shape in front of her of a future she knows she wants. Taking her left hand, Street presses a kiss to her ring finger.

"You need a ring."

"I don't need—" she starts to say, but she's cut off by his lips.

"It's with my dress blues in the closet."

Her mouth drops open for a second, a minute shake of her head as it buzzes all around her that this is really happening and not just a trick of the light. That he's been thinking about it, for long enough to have already gotten a ring for her.

"Street," Chris whispers, not sure where she's going, but needing to know he's real. He nods, features soft.

"I knew my drawers wouldn't be a good hiding spot, not with how much you wear my clothes." He winks at her. It's so familiar that it cuts through all of her apprehension and she laughs. Her mind starts to spin with excitement over what it looks like. Street sees the gears turning and how her pupils dilate. Letting out a laugh of his own, he carefully rolls her off him and onto the pillow, sliding out from under the covers. He kicks their clothes into a pile in the corner on his way to the closet.

Images float through Chris's mind—her cousins' weddings, Deacon and Annie's vow renewal, getting to tell her family—and she bites her lip as they turn into butterflies in her stomach. The closet door closes with a light thud and Street reenters her field of vision. Seeing him haloed by the light, chiseled muscles and a grin on his face, she can't help her smile.

"Chris Alonso," he draws out her name in the air between them and kneels at the edge of the bed. She turns on her side to face him, holding up the covers around her chest with one arm. Opening the box he reveals the ring, beautiful, simple, and sparkling. "Marry me?"

"Yes," she smiles. Carefully, he takes the ring from the box and slides it onto her finger, and then rejoins her under the covers, Chris sitting up so they're shoulder-to-shoulder. She takes a moment to admire it, exhaling.

"I was going to plan a whole thing," Street admits, a shyness to his words that makes her look over at him. "This just felt right." He shrugs small, and she shakes her head to dispel any doubts he might have.

"This was perfect. I loved it," She assures him with a light kiss to his jawline. "Although we're not telling people any specifics if they ask. My family does not need to know you proposed to me while we were both naked."

"Agreed," Street grins, his heart swelling whenever either of them say it. "How about we just tell them we got engaged on a Sunday morning?"

"That works," she adjusts herself so she's level with his neck to drop more, hungrier, kisses on his skin. Her breath is hot in his ear when she whispers, a shiver running through him as he lies down fully.

"I love Sundays."

"Yeah," Street breathes out. He tilts his head back to give her more access as his blood starts to rush. The light bounces off the ring so he can see it just for a second before his nerve endings light up and he closes his eyes in pleasure. "Me, too."
