Hey guys! Sorry it took long. Had a bit of writer's block. But I'm back baby!

This chapter will be about Avocato falling sick to a mysterious illness. The Team Squad must find the cure or else.

So relax and enjoy the story!

P.S. There will be reference to the movies The Isles of Dogs and Guardian of Galaxy Vol 3 so sorry for spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet. Also there will be a mini crossover with Star Trek Lower Deck.

The Team Squad landed the Crimson Light on a blue planet. After getting off, Gary saw how it was full of people buying stuff from other people at booths and stands. His eyes lighted up:

Gary - "This planet is like a farmer's market! I always love those. Back then, I would come here all the time. Of course, I was homeless and I did need some food so whatever."

Fox - "Ooh you think they will have some plants?"

Avocato - "Of course. This planet basically got the things people need. Even if it something weird, crappy or deadly."

Nightfall - "Well, we need to make a pit stop cause we need some supplies."

HUE - "I hope they have some fruit. I wanna try to make stew."

Gary - *confused* "How the hell can you make fruits out of stew?"

HUE - *shrugs* "I just like cooking something new. But I would appreciate it if other people beside Mooncake eat it."

Little Cato - "Cause Mooncake's stomach is basically like a black hole. Beside the last time you gave me something what I assume it was soup, I spent the whole morning throwing up. I had to get my stomach pump."

Trina - "That sounds unpleasant."

Little Cato - "Trust me, it wasn't. It was like having my organs sucked out."

Ash - "Ooh! Is it okay next time, you can have your kidney sucked out? They are worth a lot. And fun to play with."

Little Cato - *freaked out* "Uh maybe later."

Avocato, Nightfall, and HUE, we're paying for some things like guns, medical equipment, and knives. Gary was buying some food, but also being careful. He didn't want to get any weird crap like last time.

Gary - "Hey Mooncake, you think they have any cookies?"

Mooncake - "Chookity pa!"

Gary - "Oh yeah. But we have to be careful. I don't want to eat any weird crap from aliens. Still can't get over how Avocato had to give me a big dart in my chesticles."

Mooncake - "Oooh!"

Gary - "What? What is it?"

Mooncake floated over and they saw a booth with some cookies. Gary's eyes widened in amazement.

Gary - *happy* "We just hit the heaven coins jackpot!"

Fox - "Man! These got these amazing plants."

Trina - "Don't forget the flowers. I always love planting flowers. Especially with my

Mom."

Ash - "With my parents, we usually plant stuff like that too. Or bones and corpses."

Trina - *horrified* "Oh man, that's terrible!"

Ash - *offended* "It was amazing! We even made a game out of it on who can dig the fastest. You have weird taste in games."

Little Cato - *coming with his father* "Hey guys! Check out the cool weapons we got!"

Little Cato showed them the new weapons him and his father bought. Little Cato was acting like a little kid who got new toys.

Little Cato - *excited* "I'm gonna use them. I'm gonna use them so hard."

Avocato - *chuckles* "Alright take it easy buddy."

But unknowingly to Avocato, behind him was an alien who was selling weird stuff. There was a planet that looked like it was about to explode. When a tiny bug landed on the plant, the planet released blue sparkly pollen on Avocato. Avocato began to cough loudly and a lot. This made the Team Squad look concerned for him.

Avocato - *coughs* "W-What the hell was that?!"

Seller - *deadpanned* "Sorry. My weird plant does that a lot."

Avocato - *pissed* "Well keep that away from me! *coughs*

Little Cato - *worried* "You ok Dad?"

Avocato - "Yeah I'm fine." *coughs*

Gary - "Are you sure? You sound like you are gonna cough out a lung."

Avocato - "Don't worry about it. I'll be fine. Let's just *coughs* leave."

Back at the ship, Avocato, Trina, and Little Cato were in the training room. They were using targets to learn how to aim better. Little Cato uses one of the guns and shoots 3 bullseyes in a row.

Little Cato - *cocky* "Try beating that."

Trina - *smug* "Oh yeah?"

Trina snapped her fingers and blue lighting came out and hit the three bull's eyes.

Little Cato - "Hey! That was cheating!"

Trina - "You said I can use any weapons in training and we are training. Plus my power doesn't count as a weapon."

Little Cato - "Yes it does!"

Trina - "No it doesn't!"

Little Cato - "Yes it does!"

Trina - "No it doesn't!"

Little Cato - "Yes it does!"

Avocato - "Hey cut it out or no more-"

Then all of a sudden, Avocato began to cough. This time, it was like a painful hack to the point he had trouble wheezing. He even collapsed on his knees.

Little Dad - *worried* "Dad!"

Both Trina and Little Cato went to Avocato's side. Trina felt Avocato's forehead and he was burning up.

Trina - "Oh man he's burning up!"

Little Cato - "We need to take him to the med bay now!"

Trina - "I'll go get Gary!"

As Trina ran to get Gary, Avocato began to have flashbacks of his past

As long as Avocato can remember, he always grew up alone. He was in an orphanage but as a kid had issues. Whenever somebody tries to bully him or harass him, he goes on a violent rampage. He often got punished, but it didn't do any good.

One day, the caretakers decide to call an expert to help Avocato with his anger. As Avocato was sitting on his bed in anger crossing his arms, he heard the door knocked. It was a female cat doctor with a tough look on her face.

Avocato - "Who the hell are you?"

"I'm Dr. T'Ana kid. And you must be that wild kid Avocato I been hearing so much."

Avocato - "Yeah so what?"

Dr. T'Ana - "Listen kid, I can tell you don't hate everything that you claim you do."

Avocato - *angry* "Yes I do! I hate everything and everyone!"

Dr. T'Ana - *shrugs* "Okay if you hate everything then leave."

Avocato - *confused* "What?"

Dr. T'Ana - "You just said you hate everything and everyone. So leave. I'm not stoping you."

Avocato was shocked. No adult has ever said that to him. The adults would usually punish him or scold him. But he can tell Dr. T'Ana was serious.

Dr. T'Ana - "Look kid, I'm here because those assholes say how you need some kind of fucking outlet for your anger."

Avocato - "So what are you gonna do? Lobotomize me? Because that would a dream come true for these people."

Dr. T'Ana - *disgusts* "Oh hell no! I don't do that kids no matter how fucking annoying they are. I'm here to show you how you can do more then just hurt people. You're gonna be my student in medical shit."

Avocato was laying in one of the med pods with an oxygen mask on his face. His chest was slowly going up and down but his breathing sounds raspy. Everybody looked worried about him. Especially Little Cato.

Gary - "AVA how he is?"

AVA - "His body temperature is 103 and his lungs are getting weaker."

Fox - "How could this happen? He's usually the most physical fit out of all of us. Well beside me of course."

Ash - "You think he ate something bad? One time on my planet, I ate a fruit that had made me poop out parasites."

Everybody looked at her weirdly.

Ash - "It was weird at first but then it felt kind of nice."

AVA - "Okay, by the looks of thing, looked like Avocato inhale very strong toxic fumes."

Little Cato - *shocked* "What?! B-But how?"

Gary - "Yeah I mean we fixed up the engines in the ships so no fumes can come out."

AVA - "It's from a rare plant called the Glexa. It is known for its toxic fumes so people use it to make poisons."

Gary - "What?! Where's the cure?"

HUE - "We would need to travel to the planet called Florobo. The cure is in a rare plant called Hansla."

Gary - "Alright! AVA, send us to Floroboa now."

HUE - "Gary I must warn you, the planet is full of dangerous animals and plants."

KVN - "Don't worry HUE, KVN will protect Gary since I am his shining knight and armor!"

Gary - *angry* "In your damn dream KVN!"

KVN - *creepily* "You're always in my dreams Gary."

Little Gary - *annoyed* "Will you guys shut up?! AVA, are we close by Florobo?"

AVA - "In about 15 minutes."

15 minutes had passed and they made it to the planet Florobo. It was all green and swampy. The Crimson Light landed and the door and bridge opened. Gary said:

Gary - "Alright! Mooncake, Nightfall, Trina, and I will go and get that plant. The rest of you guys stay here to watch Avocato."

Mooncake - "Oooh!"

Little Cato - "Wait! Thunder Bandit, I want to go with you."

Gary - *concerned* "Sorry Spider Cat. I don't want you to get hurt. Your Dad-"

Little Cato - *serious* "My Dad always protects and risks his life for me. It's my turn to return the favor and save him."

Nightfall - "Gary, it's okay. I'll stay back and watch Avocato."

Gary - "But we need your awesome kickass fight move!"

Trina - "How about we just invite Little Cato. Nobody needs to stay back."

KVN - "I'll go!"

Gary - "No! You definitely stay back! *to the others* alright, Little Cato, you can come."

Little Cato - *cheers* "Yes!"

In the med room, Avocato was starting to have another memory in his dreams.

Flashback

Avocato was in battle with other Ventrexians. They were in battle against some Tryvuulian soilders. Luckily, they managed to killed some of the soilders but their was still a lot of them. To hide, they hid behind some tall dried out trees. The Tryvuulian soilders didn't see them and kept on walking.

Ventrexian 1 - "Man...There's too many for them. I'm so tired."

Ventrexian 2 - "I don't think I can keep going like this."

Ventrexian 3 - *sighs* "Yeah...Maybe we should just...Give up."

Avocato - *disgusted* "You guys make me sick. I saw humans with more balls than you assholes. *to a Ventrexia* STOP LICKING YOUR WOUNDS!

The Ventrexian stops and looks embarrassed. Then Avocato turned to the other three soldiers.

Avocato - "Hungry? Either look for something or kill something and eat it!, Sick? Take a nap or look in your med packs. Cold? Bury yourself in a hole or find something to make a shapeshift blanket! This is the war we are in! As much as we hate it, we gotta fight for our planet. Dying won't solve anything."

Then Avocato heard a scream in pain. He turned and saw a few feet away from him an orange female Ventrexian with long blue hair was wounded and a Tryvuulian was about to shoot her. But then Avocato jumped and began to shoot the Tryvuulian dead, saving the female Ventrexian.

Female Ventrexian - *panting* "Thanks..But I could handle it."

Avocato - "Well you're lucky I was here because you would of been either dead or your mess that's pretty face of yours."

Female Ventrexian - *chuckles* "Well I don't know about the dead part. What's your name?"

Avocato - "Avocato. Yours?"

"Apricat."

Avocato - "Apricat? That's a pretty name."

Apricat - "Not as pretty as Avocato."

The two stared lovingly at each other.

At the planet, Gary and the others were walking and also keeping an eye out to find the Hansla plant.

Nightfall - "We need to be careful. This place is full of dangerous plants."

Mooncake - "Pok! Pok!"

Gary - "But we aren't letting them get in the way. We need to focus on getting that plant."

Trina - *sighs* "I wish my healing powers worked. I could have healed your dad Little Cato."

Gary - *comforting* "Hey Lady Magic, it's not your fault. Your powers just like to work on their owns."

Trina - *frighten* "UmmâIt might be a good time they work now."

Confused by Trina's frightened face, Gary turned around and saw a hawk like monster coming at them. Gary did a yelp and began to shoot along with Mooncake but the Hawk monster was flying too fast. The hawk monster's sharpened claws were about to scratch Gary, but Little Cato began to shoot the monster. The hawk monster dodged the attack and grabbed Little Cato in its talon. Much to the others' horror.

Gary - "Little Cato!!"

Little Cato - "Help! Help!"

He tried to kick and punch the hawk creature but it was futile. Trina kept shooting and felt a weird feeling inside of her. She looked down and noticed the bottom of her right boot was slowly having sky blue color and lighting coming out. She stop running and stomps on her right foot. Then all of a sudden, the ground shook a bit and the ground formed a tall rock tower that attacked the hawk monster's wing and let go of Little Cato. Gary quickly catches Little Cato's in his arms and the hawk monster was now flying slow and crooked. Mooncake finished the job by blasting it to ashes.

Little Cato - *shocked* "That...Was...Awesome!!"

Gary - "Hell yeah it was! Trina, how did you do that?"

Trina - "I-I don't know. I mean I just tried to focus on saving Little Cato that my powers just unlocked on its own."

Gary - "You know that called? The power of love! It's the strongest and can help you focus on what's important."

Nightfall - "Or it can be just that her powers are slowly involving."

Gary - "That too! But the power of love is also the key!"

Trina - *uncomfortable* "Come on guys, we gotta keep going."

Back at the Crimson Light; HUE, Ash, Fox and KVN were in the med bay keeping an eye on Avocato who was still resting in the med pod.

HUE - "How's his body temperature AVA?"

AVA - "It went up to 105 and his lungs are still weak."

Fox - *sympathetic* "Man, I have never seen anybody this sick before. You think he can make it?"

Ash - "Of course he can! He's Little Cato's Dad. He is one of the most badass Dads I know. Avocato will beat this illness.

KVN - "If not we can have an awesome funeral for him. I can play the music."

Fox - "Oh! We can even have cake."

All of a sudden, they felt the Crimson Light tipping over. Everybody almost lost their balance but still kept on.

Fox - "What the hell is happening?!"

AVA - "The planet's vines are awake and about to attack!"

Then the vines broke into the windows and it was killer venus flytrap monsters.

KVN - "Ooh pretty flowers!"

Fox - "Stand back KVN!"

Fox began to shoot as Ash began to use her powers against the vines.

Ash - "We gotta protect Avocato from the vines!"

HUE - "My weapon can help!"

HUE took out his little plastic stick and began to weakly hit the vine.

HUE - "You can't handle this!"

As they were fighting the vines and protecting Avocato, Avocato's eyes twitched and fingers tightened to a grip.

Flashback

Avocato and Apricot, who was holding a bundle in her arms, were running away. They were dodging shooting Tryvuulians who were chasing them. Avocato sees an abandoned building so he and Apricot quickly hide in there. The Tryvuulians didn't see where they hide so they ran to the east side hoping to find them. Avocato turned to Apricot and said:

Avocato - "Don't worry honey. We are almost there."

Apricot - "I really hope so. I don't know how much I can take from this."

Avocato - "I know. But I'm keeping my promise to keep us safe. And to have a better life."

Avocato and Apricot kiss and continue running. Then they found a huge metal garage building like place. They went inside and to their luck, they managed to find an escape pod.

Avocato - "You go inside and see if it's working."

Apricot - *worried* "What about you?"

Avocato - "I'll be fine. Just go."

Apricot nodded and held the bundle tightly. She ran to the escape pod and began to work on it to get it work. After a few minutes and Avocato checking it safe, Apricot gasps in happiness when the escape pod turns on and opens the door for Avocato. Avocato and Apricot looked at each other happily as they were about to escape this hell-hole and start a new happy life. But just as Avocato was about to head toward his life in the escape pod, all of a sudden the escape pod exploded!

Avocato's eyes were widened in horror. There was nothing left of the escape pod. Or Apricot. Or their son. Just a bunch of rubble and fire. Avocato fell on his knees and did a loud wailing. His family. His light. The important people of his life that helped him keep living were now gone before his life. He heard cruel laughter and saw it was a tough looking Tryvuulian with an eye patch.

Tough Tryvuulian - "Heh. I knew you Ventrexians were stupid enough to fall for that fake escape pod trap."

Avocato then faces down and continues to wail in despair with tears falling down his face. However, the tough Tryuulian was getting annoyed by it.

Tough Tryvuulian - *mockingly cries* "Okay we get it! Your stupid family is dead! But don't worry you will join soon enough once I-"

But then Avocato began growling in fury and began to brutally attack the Tough Tryvuulian. The tough Tryvuulian actually began to scream in fear and pain. Avocato kept attacking in blind rage and showing no mercy. Then he heard a noise. A noise he never thought he would hear again. He quickly ran to the rubble and dig a bit. Avocato was speechless as his eyes watered again. This time it was a mix of sadness and joy. While he did find Apricot's wedding ring, he found their baby son still wrapped in the bundle. Avocato carefully picked up the bundle and move the blanket a little. He saw his son had survived the fire, he still has his adorable eyes, and little blue Mohawk. The baby stops crying and babbles happily seeing his father.

Avocato - "Little Cato..."

After dodging many killer plants and animals, Gary and the others were looking tired and exhausted.

Gary - "I swear! If I have to fight one more freaking plant, I'm gonna go freaking insane!"

Little Cato - "Well at least it's better than dealing with KVN."

Gary - "Actually that's a good point. This is the only good thing about this place! It's basically like Hell in jungle form."

Nightfall - "Don't worry guys we are almost there."

Trina - "Hey I think I see it!"

Trina pointed to the red glowing Hansla. But the bad thing is it was on top of a Rocky Mountain.

Gary - *annoyed* "OH COME ON!!"

Nightfall - "Don't worry Gary. We can fly up there to get up it. We don't have to climb it."

Gary - *sigh in relief* "Yeah, good point."

Nightfall, Gary, Trina, and Little Cato turn on the flight in their shoes and begin to fly up the mountain to get the flower. They were halfway up the mountain, but they heard rumbling.

Little Cato - "What was that?"

Then the side of the mountain broke and a giant boa monster covered in moss came out and roared.

Gary - *annoyed* "Oh WHY DOES NATURE HATE US?!"

Gary, Little Cato, Trina and Nightfall all began to shoot at the Boa monster. But the Boa monster tried to strike, but they all dodge it. The mountain began to break some pieces due to the crash the Boa monster had made. Little Cato noticed the flower and tried to grab it. But the Boa Monster knocked him down with his tail.

Gary - *horrified* "Little Cato!"

Little Cato almost fell on the ground but regained his balance. He doesn't care about the pain he's feeling right now. Getting the flower to cure his father's illness is more important.

Little Cato - *determined* "I'm not letting some ugly snake with a fungus problem stop me!"

He flew back and began to shoot the Boa. At first, nothing happened. But when Little Cato shot it in the stomach, it yelled out a pain yelp.

Little Cato - "Guys! The weakness it's stomach!"

Gary - "Alright! Let's start the shooting!"

Then Gary, Little Cato, Nightfall, Trina and Mooncake began to shoot the Boa monster in its stomach. It was screaming in pain with all of their gun shooting at them including Mooncake's power. It began to scream in pain and fall into a dark abyss. However, as it was falling, it knocked down the mountain into pieces and the flower began to fall as well.

Trina - "The flower! Quick get it!"

All of them tried to reach the flower but they couldn't grab it due to the speed on how it was falling. But Mooncake use all his speed to grab the flower by catching it his mouth.

Gary - "Great job buddy!"

Mooncake smiled as they all flew back up in the air.

Gary - "Now let's get the hell out of this hell hole."

Gary and the others made it to the Crimson Light and saw how it was slightly damage but it was slowly rebuilding itself. They went inside and saw Fox, Ash, KVN, and HUE cleaning up the dead monster Venus flytrap vines.

KVN - *cheerfully* "Hey Gary! Boy did you miss the fun, there was these deadly plants that almost killed us but-"

Gary - *pushed KVN away* "I don't give a crap! We got the flower and we need to make the cure now."

Nightfall - "Give it to me, AVA and I will do it."

At the med bay, after 10 minutes, the cure for Avocato was ready. Nightfall put it in the needle and HUE walked up to her.

HUE - "Perhaps I can hand it to the pod Avocato is in?"

Nightfall - *unsure* "Are you fast enough?"

HUE - "I upgraded myself. I can more faster than before."

HUE grab the needle and began to walk to the pod. However, he was still walking slow like he normally does. Everybody looked at him confused.

HUE - "I was only updated at 5%."

KVN - "I can do it!"

Gary - "No way! Let me do it. Avocato is my bro."

KVN - "I'm your bro too Gary! I'm your top bro!"

Gary - "Just shut up KVN!"

Gary took the needle and gave it to the med pod Avocato was resting in. The robot hand took it and gave Avocato the injection. The screen that showed Avocato's x-ray and body temperature began to show that Avocato's body temperature was still at 105.

Little Cato - *pleading* "Come on work!"

Gary - "Don't worry. It's going to work!"

Then Avocato's body temperature show how now it's slowly going down to 102. Much to everybody's surprised and relief.

AVA - "The cure is taking full effect and he should be better in a few hours."

Then Avocato weakly opened his eyes.

Little Cato - "Dad?"

Little Cato quickly ran to the pod and saw his Dad weakly smiling at him. Little Cato had tears of joy in his eyes.

Little Cato - "I'm so glad you're going to be okay!"

Avocato - "Don'tâWorryâNothing can take meâDown."

Gary - "Right. Cause you're one tough son of a bitch."

Avocato - *weakly chuckles* "Yeah."

Avocato then passed out again which made Little Cato worried.

Little Cato - *worried* "Dad?"

AVA - "Don't worry Little Cato. Your father just need to rest more. In a few hours, he will be back to normal."

Little Cato - "Good. I don't want to lose him again."

In a few hours, Avocato was all better and now back in his room. However, he still felt a bit drain from being so ill. He was getting ready for bed and then heard a knock on his door.

Avocato - "Come in."

The door opened and it was Gary and Little Cato.

Gary - "How you feeling dude?"

Avocato - "I'm alright."

Little Cato - "You sure? You don't need anything?"

Avocato - "Don't worry Little Cato. I'm alright. I'm just actually surprised you and Gary went through all that to save me."

Gary - "Of course we did. You're my bro!"

Little Cato - "And my father. You always risk your life to save us."

Gary - "And this time: we return the favor."

Avocato - "You know...Sometimes I think I don't deserve this because of all the terrible things I have done."

Gary - "Yeah. But a lot of people do terrible things. However there are those like you who try their hardest to make up for it."

Little Cato - "And to let you know Dad: you're doing an awesome job at it."

Avocato smiled and hugged his son and Gary. He was so touched that there are people who care about him and value him beside the awful things he did in the past.

Avocato - "Thank you both. For everything."

Gary - "Remember something. You're not alone. You have us."

After Gary and Little Cato left the room, Avocato went to his draw and took out two things: Apricot's wedding ring and a picture of him and Little Cato. He started to have one more flashback.

Flashback

Little Cato was age 7 and he was training with his father to be a fighter. Avocato was impressed with his son's fast agility and now it was time to take a break.

Little Cato - "How was that Dad?"

Avocato - "You were an amazing son. I haven't seen speed like that in a long time...Since your mother."

Little Cato - "Was she strong?"

Avocato - "Oh yes. Very Strong. She was the most strongest and beautiful Ventrexian female I ever met."

Little Cato - "Dad, do you think I can be a warrior like you? And make Mom proud?"

Avocato - *smiles* "Son, I know you will be an amazing warrior. Maybe even more than me. Your mother would be so proud of what a strong awesome person you are becoming."

Little Cato - *smiles* "Thanks Dad!"

Flashback ends

Avocato let a tear fall down his cheek. He kissed the ring and held it tightly in his palm.

Avocato - "I won't let you down Apricot. I promise our son will not just be an amazing warrior, but an amazing person too. We are going to live the amazing life we wanted."

Avocato put the ring and picture back in his drawer. Then he went to bed and actually felt peace with himself. Vowing to never break the promise he made to his wife.
