Two years before I started this book. I had posted on Wattpad. But on my phone. So they all really sucked. I saw these videos of Hannibal and Anna. Two murders. And found it was interesting. Looked it up on . No one wrote anything about it but a lot of people found it really interesting.
So, I stewed on it for two years. I worked on improving my writing more than it had been.
I honestly didn't care how cringy my work had been. Writing was my mental escape from my darkness. I had a emotionally abusive birth father who use to physically beat my mom, who tried to keep me in their life even though I told them I wanted nothing to do with them.
I was in a deep depression. I was suicidal. I was a mental mess. And writing was my escape.
When I felt I had improved in my writing skills, and got a idea of what I wanted out of it, I started Poor Pretty Little Anna.
It quickly became popular on the three sites I posted on. Wattpad, AO3, and . But soon, I grew tired of this book, and it went on hold. Thought about giving it to someone else. But I grew newer ideas as I watched Emily Browning, a.k.a Anna, in other things. Such as American Gods as the bad ass Undead Laura Moon. As the strong BabyDoll in Sucker Punch.
I rewatched Hannibal, and two of the Hannibal movies, Silence of The Lambs, and Hannibal.
I fell in love with Poor Pretty Little Anna again.
I know it isn't perfect and I plan on going back and remastering it once the book is finished by the way. But I know it is loved.
As of recently as you know it was brought to my attention that this book was talked about on tiktok. And not only dragged through the mud but then thrown into a grinder. With as far as I know 14 videos (Obsessed much?)
They mainly were angry that I made Hannibal a groomer. It is cannon that Hannibal is a type of groomer. He groomed his minor sister in the novels. He groomed Will (Whom they were also mad that I didn't make this a Hannigram ship). He groomed Clarice. He groomed Abigale Hobbs.
In the novel Hannibal tried to groom Clarice into being an exact copy of his late sister whom he groomed when she was a minor. But Clarice refused and he stopped. They later got married.
In my book, in my FANFICTION, I can do what I want with the characters. Making Fanfiction is about having fun with things. Not to bully the people who write them.
If I wanted I could turn Hannibal into a shapeshifting female horse who got pregnant and his male human form has to hide it. That's fanfiction. A work of fiction from fans to have fun and share with others.
Mads Mikkleson, and Hugh Dancy, who perfectly play Will and Hannibal in the show, wouldn't appreciate a fan who so obsessed with a ship from a show, and bully others for not using said ship.
Mads and Hugh would hate us fans bullying and putting each other down.
Hannibal is a villain. Let him be a villain. Just cause someone wrote things in their fiction, doesn't mean they condone it in real life.
I love writing females who we as readers want to protect from the evil. To pull her out of the screen and protect her. I put her through things to make her become a stronger her. Everything happens in my books for a reason.
This will be the last time I bring the past up.
Enjoy the upcoming works and remember. Be kind to others in the fandoms. The ones they are fans of wouldn't appreciate bullying others. So be kind, and if you don't like something in a fanfiction that a villain does, then close out of it, and move on.
Anyway. I'm getting back to working on this and other books. For the love of Fandoms and of my works.
