"Hey, guys! Welcome to the new chapter of Avatar: The Blue Spectator Chronicles! I hope you guys will enjoy it...anyway, I don't own anything, except for my OCs as the OCs Mako Yami and Okami belong entirely to 9655."
NOW LET'S GET ON WITH THE STORY!
{Book 1: Water-Chapter 8: Winter Solstice, Part 2: Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv}
"Let's go, Appa! Come on, boy!" A glaring Aang says as we see him and Blue Spectator Naxon trying to pull on Appa's reins to move him, but he continually refuses to fly them anywhere as we see the boys residing inside of Senlin Village, very early in the morning with the full moon still up as Appa roared in protest.
"Appa, please, we know how you feel but we can't bring Katara and the others to the Fire Nation with us." Blue Spectator says with a somber tone as Aang nods sadly.
"Yeah, if they got hurt, we will never forgive ourselves...SO GET YOUR BIG FAT BUTT OFF THE GROUND AND LET'S GO!" Aang yelled sternly while emphasizing his command by straightening himself as he and Naxon jerked at the reins, stretching them out, but the boys were flung to the ground when the ropes pulled them back as Appa did not move a muscle.
"Ugh, great..." A forlorn-looking Blue Spectator says as Aang groans and facepalms as he sits on the ground in a spread-legged position.
"I think his big butt is trying to tell ya something." Sokka's voice rang out as Aang gasped in surprise, and Naxon flinched a bit as they got up from the ground and whirled around to see Sokka, Katara, Mako, Okami, Fluffy, and the rest of the Senlin Villagers standing before them as the Waterbender stepped forward with a worried look on her face.
"Please don't go, guys. The world can't afford to lose you two to the Fire Nation." Katara said desperately with a pleading face as she placed her hands over her chest. "Neither can I," Katara says as Aang and Naxon share a look and remember seeing the image of Sozin's Comet as they then turned back to their friends.
"But we have to talk to Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv to find out what our vision means."
"And we need to get to the Fire Temple before the sun sets on the solstice." Blue Spectator says as he and Aang then use their magical powers and Airbending to launch themselves upwards to land on top of Appa's head as the Avatar and the Blue Spectator were preparing to leave but were stopped by their friends as the Team Avatar-Spectator ran over to stand in front of the Bison, preventing him from moving any further as Mako narrowed his eyes stoically.
"We're not letting you go into the Fire Nation, guys, not without your friends."
"Yeah, we got your back," Sokka says just as Appa opens his mouth as he licks the Water Tribe Warrior, soaking him with his saliva as he groans angrily. "Ew!"
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!"
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!"
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!" Team Avatar-Spectator laughed loudly with Sokka grumbling angrily at this as the Senlin Village Leader walks over to them with a bundle in his arms.
"It's a long journey to the Crescent Island." The Senlin Village Leader says as he hands Team Avatar-Spectator the bundle. "You'll have to fly fast to have any chance of making it before sundown. Good luck."
"Thank you for your-,"
"Go!" The Senlin Village Leader interrupted sharply while pointing toward the ocean as Team Avatar-Spectator quickly boarded Appa, and said person took off into the air with a loud roar as we then fast forward to later in the morning, and we see the Senlin Village Leader exiting a building, but he stops in his track upon finding Zuko standing in his path as Iroh can be seen sitting on a Komodo Rhino.
"Having trouble sleeping?" Zuko asked threateningly while pushing the surprised Senlin Village Leader backward as he crashed down inside of the building and scurried backward worriedly as the Banished Fire Prince stalked over to him menacingly. "Seen the Avatar and the Blue Spectator lately?"

"Water."
A man wearing Nothern Water Tribe clothes weaves a stream of water from the ground as he twirls it around him before thrusting it to the side.
"Shadows."
A woman, wearing Shadow Nation Clothing, could be seen twirling and dancing around, drawing up multiple shadow tendrils as she then tossed it over to slam it across the readers' faces.
"Earth."
A man wearing Earth Kingdom attire kicks the ground, bringing up a large rock as he punches it to smithereens.
"Fire."
A woman wearing Fire Nation attire crouches down as she summons hot flames from under her feet before leaping up as she does a spinning high-kick that spreads the fire around.
"Air."
A man, wearing Air Nomad clothing, lands on the ground gracefully, and he then proceeds to make a circular motion with his hands and summons a gust of wind as he forms it into a ball and throws it at the readers.
"Long ago, the five nations lived together in harmony." Katara's voice was heard as we saw a glimpse of each individual nation and people living in harmony. "But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked," Katara says as we see hundreds of Fire Nation ships invading other cities and burning them to the ground.
"Only the Avatar, master of all five elements, could stop them," Katara says as we see the Avatar standing on top of a pillar as he grins, and his eyes glow blue as he proceeds to perform multiple bending techniques at once. He started out by summoning a Tsunami, then splitting a mountain in half, generating giant torrents of fire by his hands and feet, summoning an air sphere around him that levitated him off the ground, and raising his hands as he summoned multiple giant hand-shaped shadow constructs. "But when the world needed him most...he vanished," Katara says as the Avatar suddenly vanished, and we fast forward a hundred years later, where we see the decimation left by the Fire Nation as they burned everything sight without mercy, not caring who gets in their way as long as they achieve victory in the war.
"A hundred years have passed, and there was no sign of hope of the Firebenders ceasing their attack, but that all changed when my brother and I've discovered a boy who fell from the stars, an alien soldier named Naxon Ecojifan," Katara says as we see her past self, and Sokka looking up in shock as an unknown object fell down from the sky and crashed down as they investigated the crash site, and were surprised to see a wounded Naxon came out of his ship as he crashed down on the floor, and Katara look down at him worriedly while Sokka stared at him suspiciously.
"Naxon explained to us about the war going on his own planet Elysium, and how the Ventis, a race of hostile aliens led by the great and powerful General Tes'lar, effectively dominated them," Katara says as we cue to space, where we see General Tes'lar commanding his Ventis army to take down the Detanons, who tried to fight back but were quickly overwhelmed as they were forced to retreat.
"But the Detanons haven't lost hope as Naxon and his uncle formulated a plan to prepare a base for the Detonans on Earth. Once the base is constructed, Naxon and his people will reunite to end their war once and for all." Katara says as we see the Detanons retreating to a large tower and run over to the escape pods while Naxon and Tarkal are formulating a plan. After agreeing with his uncle's plan, Naxon left for Planet CV-52, but not before giving one last somber look at his planet as he promised his people that he would come back and flew off.
"After explaining his backstory, we had agreed to help him and taken him in as one of our own. A few weeks after going on a fishing trip, my brother, my friend, and I have discovered the new Avatar, an Airbender named Aang." Katara says as we see her past self, Sokka, and Naxon finding Aang trapped in an iceberg as his eyes and tattoos were glowing brightly. "And although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone," Katara says as we see Aang standing in a meadow with a grin on his face as he created an air sphere and jumped on it as he laughed and rolled across the meadow, but lost control as he crashed against a stone column and fell down.
"But luckily, he's not alone as Aang will get help from an old friend," Katara says as we see Aang standing on top of a mountain's peak, looking down at the four nations that he will be protecting as Aang feels a little bit nervous, but calms down as a blue glove was placed on his shoulder, and Aang looks up to see Naxon giving him a reassuring smile while wearing his Blue Spectator Armor as Aang smiled and grew determined as the Avatar and The Blue Spectator looks down at the five nations fearlessly, ready to face whatever danger comes their way.

"Come on, boy, we've got a long way to go! Faster!" Aang shouted with Appa roaring loudly and soared over the ocean as Blue Spectator and the others held on while also looking around to make sure that there weren't any Fire Nation Navy Ships nearby as we cue over to Prince Zuko Ship and we see Iroh giving his Nephew a stern glare as said person stared out into the sea stoically with the help of his telescope.
"Sailing into Fire Nation waters ...of all the foolish things you've done in your sixteen years, Prince Zuko, this is the most foolish."
"I have no choice, Uncle."
"Have you completely forgotten that the Fire Lord banished you? What if you're caught?" An angry Iroh says worriedly as Zuko breaks away from his telescope to talk to his Uncle.
"I'm chasing the Avatar and the Blue Spectator. My father will understand why I am returning home."
"You give him too much credit. My brother is not the understanding type." Iroh says with a somber and knowing tone as Zuko ignores him and merely looks back into his telescope as he perks up at the sight of Team Avatar-Spectator soaring through the skies on Appa. "There they are. Helmsman. Full steam ahead." Zuko ordered up at the Helmsman, who nodded and commanded the ship to swim forward at high speeds as Naxon glanced down and spotted them as he gritted his teeth.
"Guys, Incoming Edgy Kid with a very popular and concerning fanbase!" Blue Spectator shouted as we cue back to Zuko's Ship, and we see a Fire Nation Catapult being raised to the deck of Zuko's ship as it was loaded with a steaming projectile.
"Uh, really Prince Zuko, couldn't you shoot them down with something more fragrant?" Iroh asked his nephew dryly while fanning his face as Zuo promptly ignored him and merely lit the stinking ball with a fire punch.
"On my mark! Fire!" Zuko ordered as a Fire Nation guard beside him sliced the rope holding back the catapult, sending the flaming projectile races toward Appa.
"Fireball!" Katara shouted as Aang narrowed his eyes and pulled on the reins to have Appa move to the side as the fireball zooms past them, forcing Team Avatar-Spectator to all make faces and grasp their noses from the foul stench as only Naxon was unaffected due to his airtight sealed helmet.
"We are sitting ducks out here! We have to get out of Zuko's range before he shoots another fireball at us!" Mako yelled with a glare as Sokka nodded while turning to Aang.
"Can't you make Appa go any faster?"
"Yeah. But there's just one little problem."
"What problem?" A confused Blue Spectator asked as Aang pointed downwards, and both Team Avatar-Spectator and Zuko's Fire Nation Army were shocked to see a two-row line of Fire Nation Ships stretching across the ocean as far as the eye could see as numerous Fire Nation Catapults could be seen prepared to fire.
"Technically you are still in Earth Kingdom waters. Turn back now and they cannot arrest you." Iroh warned Zuko, who remained still as he glared up at Team Avatar-Spectator, waiting for their next move as he narrowed his eyes.
"If we fly north, we can go around the Fire Nation Ships and avoid the blockade. It's the only way." Aang says as the others shake their heads.
"There's no time."
"Yeah, if we try to go around the blockade, we will be at Roku and Xiv's Temple by tomorrow afternoon." Blue Spectator says as Aang groans.
"See? This is exactly why I didn't want you to come. It's too dangerous."
"And that's exactly why we're here, dude." A glaring Mako says as Sokka nods with a bold look on his face.
"Let's run this blockade. I'm feeling dandy." Sokka said as he and the others grinned confidently as Blue Spectator placed his hand on Aang's shoulder and nodded to him, causing him to perk up as he nodded.
"Appa, yip-yip!" Aang ordered as Appa roared readily and sailed forward even quicker as Zuko's eyes widened in surprise.
"They are not turning around..." Zuko says stoically as Iroh gives him a pleading look.
"Please, Prince Zuko. If the Fire Nation captures you, there is nothing I can do. Do not follow the Avatar and the Blue Spectator." Iroh practically begged with a frown as Zuko lowered his head, closed his eyes, and clenched his hands into fists as he looked away sorrowfully.
"I'm sorry, Uncle," Zuko says apologetically before raising his head as he opens his eyes and thrusts his right hand forward commandingly. "Run the blockade! I'm feeling dandy!"
"The Avatar and the Blue Spectator," Zhao says with a sly grin while gazing through the landscape with the help of his telescope as he spotted Appa flying towards them and Zuko's ship is sailing nearby as it was heading straight toward in their direction and Zhao chuckled ominously. "And the banished prince. This must be my lucky day."
"Commander Zhao. What are your orders?" A Fire Nation Captain asked as Zhao turned to him.
"Shoot the bison down, captain."
"But there's a Fire Navy ship out there, sir. One of our own. What if it's hit?" The surprised Fire Nation Captain asked concernedly as Zhao glared out into the ocean coldly.
"So be it. It belongs to a traitor. Ignite. Launch." Zhao ordered as, immediately, the sky became littered with flaming fireballs fired from the blockade and Team Avatar-Spectator screamed panickedly as Appa evaded numerous fireballs, some exploding in mid-air as the gang flew through a blanket of fireballs and Team Avatar-Spectator flew directly through one that exploded before them with Appa's fur being darkened from the explosion as Naxon, Katara, Sokka, Mako, Fluffy, Momo, and Okami all worked together to slap out embers on Appa's fur.
"Appa, are you okay?" Aang asked worriedly as Appa roared out an okay and they soared higher into the clouds as, back on the ocean surface, we see that Zuko's ship was narrowly missing many falling fireballs with sheets of ocean water crashing over the ship, and crew members run for safety as a single fireball explodes on the aft side of the vessel.
"Prince Zuko! The engines are damaged! We need to stop and make repairs!" An Engineer yelled worriedly while pointing over at the flaming engine as Zuko spun away from the man, facing the blockade with a harsh glare on his face.
"Do not stop this ship!"
"Launch!" Zhao ordered as they fired out a multitude of fireballs at Team Avatar-Spectator, who realized that hiding out in the clouds was a TERRIBLE idea because now they couldn't see where all of the fireballs were coming from as Blue Spectator, Katara, Sokka, Mako, Fluffy, and Okami were forced to grip Appa's saddle tightly as said person dodges many fireballs before two collide and explode in front of him as a screaming Sokka and Fluffy were thrown from the saddle and begins to plunge for the ocean below.
"Sokka! Fluffy!"
"We got them!" Blue Spectator screamed while dropping down from the saddle as Momo did the same, and they flew down towards their friends as Naxon reached over to grab Sokka and swiftly summoned his trident as he then used his Airbending to flung themselves up into the air just as Momo flew down to snatch Fluffy with his feet and flew them upwards as a determined Aang whips the reins down and begins a speedy descent, allowing the gang to leap back into the saddle as Appa skims the ocean surface and a fish appears out of nowhere to slap Sokka square in the face, knocking him back into the saddle as Okami grabbed the fish with his jaws and ate it as Appa continues his swift flight mere feet above the ocean and fireballs crash into the water all around them as Team Avatar-Spectator held on for dear life.
"Ready..." Zhao says while holding his hand up, issuing his command as Appa rapidly approaches the ship. "Fire!" Zhao ordered as a single catapult launched a fire blast directly toward Appa. and an unafraid Avatar and Blue Spectator gained a look of obstinate determination as they then Airbended themselves forward off of Appa's head, and the dynamic duo used a couple of powerful Airbending kicks and punches that collided against the flaming boulder, causing it to explode in a large smoky blast as a yelping Aang and Naxon falls back to Appa's head with Mako, Katara, and Sokka grabbing them as Appa soars safely over the blockade, passing them.
"We made it!"
"Hell, yeah!" Blue Spectator cheered ecstatically while he and Aang shared high fives as Mako was glad that they got into the Fire Nation.
"We got into the Fire Nation. Great." Sokka says meekly with he and Katara each grimacing in terror as Zhao and the others watch them go.
"Where do you think the Avatar and the Blue Spectator are heading, sir?" The Fire Nation Captain asked curiously as Zhao shrugged but turned aside to gaze at Zuko's smoking-damaged ship stoically.
"I'm not sure, but I bet a certain banished prince will know," Zhao says with a knowing tone as Zuko's shop approaches the two ships in the blockade with these two ships sailing in opposite directions as they soon close off Zuko's ship's path.
"We're on a collision course!" A concerned Iroh says as a confident Zuko shakes his head.
"We can make it!"
"The boarding party is ready to apprehend Prince Zuko, sir." The Fire Nation Captain says with a squad of nine Firebenders standing behind him as Zhao suddenly gets an idea and holds out his hand.
"Wait...cut the engines, and let them pass."
"Sir?" The Fire Nation Captain asked confusedly as each ship in the blockade halted, allowing Zuko's Ship to glide by beneath their deck, untouched as Zhao stood high, sharing an interlocked gaze with the banished prince below as Zuko and Iroh looked behind them in silence as they sail safely through with the Firebending Master stroking his gray beard curiously as Azula's Older Brother narrowed his eyes suspiciously and we then cue over to Team Avatar-Spectator as we see Appa flying among blue skies with Naxon, Mako, Sokka, and Katara sitting up in the saddle while Aang sits on Appa's head as we then fast forward in time and we see Sokka and Mako slumping in the back of the saddle, Naxon and Katara leaned their arms over the front of the saddle, and Aang is lounging against Appa's neck as we fast forward in time again and we see that the sky had changed to a darker, sunset-filled evening as Appa looks visibly tired and the Avatar is sprawled over Appa's head with Momo equally sprawled over Aang's head as Naxon, Mako, Katara and Sokka have each collapsed into the saddle.
"Huh?" Aang asked confusedly as Momo was shown bouncing about in eager surprise and glanced down at Crescent Island and its smoking volcano as Aang perked up. "There it is. The island where Roku and Xiv's dragon took me and Naxon yesterday." Aang says while having Appa descend down towards Crescent Island as we fast forward in time yet again, and we see the Bison lying at the base of a stone bridge leading up to the island's mountain with the bridge ending at an elegant, multi-story Fire Temple as lava is flowing beneath the bridge and the air is thick with steam as Aang and Naxon stands by Appa's head while Mako and Katara stand to Appa's side as Sokka is stretching further away with Momo, Okami, and Fluffy. "You did it, buddy."
"Yeah, nice flying there, big guy." Blue Spectator says with a smile while rubbing Appa's head as said person bellows in satisfaction, rolling to his side to wave his three legs into the air lazily as his tongue rolls out.
"Aww, you must be tired." Katara cooed while smiling sweetly as she approached Appa to rub his belly.
"No, I'm good." A joyous Sokka says while continuing to work out and flex his body as Katara expresses dumbfounded interest. "Refreshed and ready to fight some Firebenders-Ow!" Sokka says before yelping in pain as an annoyed Mako walks over to bonk him on the head.
"She was talking to Appa, idiot," Mako says as Sokka flinched and sweated nervously as he laughed awkwardly.
"Well...I was talking to Momo, Okami, and Fluffy." Sokka says while pointing over at the animal trio as Mako rolls his eyes dryly.
"Right...anyway, Okami? You better stay here with Appa. You are too big to properly sneak around with." Mako instructed as Okami nodded and laid down on the ground as Team Avatar-Spectator then walked along the stone bridge to approach a multi-story Fire Temple.
"I don't see any guards," Sokka says as he and the others take cover behind a lower wall below the steps.
"The Fire Nation must have abandoned the temple when Avatar Roku died," Katara says as Aang nods urgently.
"It's almost sundown. We better hurry." Aang says as Team Avatar-Spectator is quick to leap over the wall and charges for the front door as the group tip-toes through an enormous chamber with fire-decor columns as Naxon then flinched, hearing something behind him as he groaned.
"Guys, we got company." Blue Spectator says as he and the others turn around to see five men standing in the hallway dressed in red with tall hats.
"We are the Fire Sages. Guardians of the Temple of the Avatar."
"Great. I am the Avatar." Aang says with a smile as the Great Fire Sage frowns grimly.
"We know." The Great Fire Sage says while inhaling briskly before punching a blast of fire in their direction with Aang, Naxon, and Mako reacting quickly by deflecting all of the fireballs with their Airbending, Shadowbending, and Blue Shockwave Powers before the Avatar leaps forward and spins his leg across the ground, sending a low air blade that sweeps the Fire Sages' legs out from beneath them, and they all fall to the ground as Team Avatar-Spectator then turned around to run away. "If what the rumors said is true, then Avatar Roku really was partners with the Previous Blue Spectator, which means that if the Current Avatar and Blue Spectator talk with them, there's no telling how powerful the boys will become! Split up and find them!" The Great Fire Sage ordered with a glare as Team Avatar-Spectator ran down a hallway and rounded a corner, but were forced to run back as another Fire Sage, known as Shyu, appeared on the scene and were quick to flee.
"Come back!" Shyu pleaded as Team Avatar-Spectator ignored him and turned another corner as they charged down the hallway, but stopped upon realizing that they hit a dead end as the gang skidded to a stop and whirled around to face Shyu, who held up his hands in surrender as he gave them a pleading look. "I don't want to fight you! I am a friend!"
"Firebenders aren't our friends!" Sokka says with a harsh glare while he and the others get into fighting stances as Shyu steps toward the Avatar and Blue Spectator before dropping to his knees and pressing his palms to the floor in submission as this startles the gang.
"I know why you're here, Avatar and Blue Spectator."
"You do?" A surprised Blue Spectator asked Shyu to nod while rising from the floor to stand again.
"You wish to speak to Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv. I can take you to them."
"How?" A skeptic Aang asked as Shyu simply slid back a lamplight on the wall and placed a palm on the wall while focusing Firebending into this location to open a secret passage. "This way. Time is running out. Quickly." Shyu says while entering the secret passage as Team Avatar-Spectator exchange a confused look before deciding to assert each other's belief to trust this Firebender as the group enters the passage and descends the steps into the cave as Shyu closes the passageway.
"What is he up to, Uncle?" Zuko asked with a glare while tightening his knuckles on the ship's railing as smoke billowed behind his ship. "Why didn't Commander Zhao arrest me?"
"Because he wants to follow you. He knows you'll lead him to the prize you're both after the Avatar and the Blue Spectator." Iroh says wisely as Zuko narrows his eyes stoically.
"If Zhao wants to follow a trail of smoke, then that's exactly what I'll let him do."
"Avatar Roku once called this temple his home," Shyu explained as we see him and Team Avatar-Spectator making their way through the lava caverns as the sun nearly set outside. "He formed these secret passages out of the magma."
"Did you know Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv?" Aang asked curiously as Shyu shook his head.
"No, but my grandfather knew them. Many generations of Fire Sages guarded this temple long before me. We all have a strong spiritual connection to this place.'
"Is that how you knew we were coming?" Blue Spectator asked as Shyu nodded.
"A few weeks ago, an amazing thing occurred. The statue of Avatar Roku; its eyes began to glow."
"That's when we were at the Air Temple. Avatar Roku's eyes were glowing there, too." An amazed Katara says as Shyu nods.
"At that moment, we knew you had returned to the world."
"Wait, hold on, if this is the Avatar's temple, why did the sages attack us?" A confused and glaring Mako asked as Shyu sighed somberly.
"Things have changed. In the past, the sages were loyal only to the Avatar and even Blue Spectator. When Roku died and Xiv left the planet, the Fire Sages eagerly awaited for the next Avatar and Blue Spectator to return, but they never came."
"They were waiting for us." A guilty Aang says as Sokka grinned.
"Hey don't feel bad. You two are only a hundred years late." Sokka says in a humoursly mocking way with Aang scowling heavily at him as both Naxon and Mako hit the Water Tribe Warrior on the back of his head harshly.
"They lost hope that the Avatar and the Blue Spectator would ever return. When Fire Lord Sozin began the War, my Grandfather and the other sages were forced to follow him. I never wanted to serve the Fire Lord. When I learned you two were coming, I knew I would have to betray the other sages."
"Thanks for helping us, sir." Blue Spectator says while taking off his helmet to smile at Shyu, who smiles back at him as he nods, and the gang then continues up the spiraling flight of stairs.
"We'll follow these stairs to the sanctuary. Once you're inside, wait for the light to hit Avatar Roku's statue. Only then will you be able to speak with him and Xiv." Shyu says just as they arrived at the top of the stairs and reached the outer sanctuary, which had massive columns with dragon statues atop them lined the room, and an immense door was before them with a device holding five open-mouthed dragons. "No!"
"Shyu, what's wrong?" Mako asked worriedly as Shyu gave them a grim look.
"The sanctuary doors, they're closed."
"Can't you just open them with Firebending? Like you opened that other door from before?" Katara asked as Shyu shook his head.
"No. Only a Fully Realized Avatar and Blue Spectator are powerful enough to open this door alone. Otherwise, the sages must open this door together with five simultaneous fire blasts." Shyu explained with Sokka in deep thought as he perked up.
"Five fire blasts, huh? I think I can help you out." Sokka says with a grin as we then cue over to Zuko's smoke-billowing ship, and we see Zuko being slowly slid down into the waters on a small vessel.
"Uncle, keep heading north. Zhao will follow the smoke trail, while I use it as a cover." Zuko says as Iroh grunts in doubt, stroking his beard in deep thought as Zuko's boat settles on the ocean's surface and disappears in the smoke as we cue over to Zhao, who is looking out into the ocean with the help of his telescope as he had a determined look on his face and we then cue back to the Fire Temple as we see a kneeling Sokka pouring oil into a bag.
"This is a little trick I picked up from my Father. I seal the lamp oil inside an animal skin casing, Shyu lights the oil-soaked twine and, ta-da. Fake Firebending." Sokka says while picking up the bag as he holds it proudly before him.
"You've really outdone yourself this time, Sokka." An impressed Katara as Naxon nodded.
"Yeah, this might actually work." Blue Spectator says while putting on his helmet again as a smug-faced Sokka goes over to place all of the explosive bags into the dragons' mouths.
"The sages will hear the explosion, so as soon as they go off, you rush in," Shyu ordered as Katara and Mako hid behind a column with Sokka, Momo, and Fluffy as Aang and Naxon hid behind another column. "It's almost sunset. Are you ready?"
"Definitely." Avatar Aang and Blue Spectator Naxon say with a nod as Shyu then thrusts his finger forward, sending a small flare racing across the door to light all five bags at once as the Fire Sage hurries to take cover and there is an intense explosion, producing a lot of smoke as the boys burst forward and run for the door as they strained to open the door, which has not budged as they were left surprised by this. "They're still locked!"
"It didn't work." Sokka says while sadly sighing as he and the others get out of their hiding spot.
"Why, won't, it, open?!" An enraged Aang asked while beating on the sanctuary doors furiously with consecutive Airbending slices as Naxon ran over to stop him.
"Aang, stop, there's nothing else we can do." Blue Spectator says as Aang frowns glumly while a confused Sokka goes over to examine the explosion as he runs his finger across the black soot. "I don't get it. That Firebending looked as strong as any Firebending I've seen."
"...Holy spirits...Sokka, you're a genius!" An excited Katara yelled as everyone turned to her confusedly.
"Wait. How is Sokka a genius? His plan didn't even work." Mako pointed out as an arrogant Sokka held out his hand.
"Come on, Mako. Let her dream."
"You're right. Sokka's plan didn't work, but it looks like it did." Katara said with a sly grin as Team Avatar-Spectator perked up in realization and grinned back at her slyly as they chuckled mischievously.
"...Come quickly! The Avatar and the Blue Spectator have entered the sanctuary!" Shyu shouted urgently and worriedly as he and the other Fire Sages ran over to the sanctuary doors.
"How did they get in?!"
"I don't know, but look at the scorch marks! And down there!" Shyu yelled while gesturing at the recent scorch marks on the sanctuary doors as well as the two visible shadows at the bottom of the door.
"They are inside! Open the doors, immediately! Before they contact Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv!" The Great Fire Sage screamed, not knowing that Aang and Naxon slid into position behind a nearby column as the five sages Firebend the door locks open, and the door opens to reveal a sooty Momo and Fluffy sitting on the floor. "It's the Avatar's Lemur and the Blue Spectator's Bunny! They must have crawled through the pipes! We've been tricked!" The Great Fire Sage screamed in alarm and anger as Momo and Fluffy sprang into action by leaping atop the Great Fire Sage's head and clinging to his hat as Katara charged forward, pulling a nearby sage's tunic over his head to blind him as Mako and Sokka grabs the lower skirt of a sage's outfit, lifting it completely over his body to cover his face as Shyu grabs the last free sage and hauls him into his grip, pinning him.
"Now, kids!"
"..."
"Aang, Naxon! Now's your chance!" Katara yelled urgently before she and the others gasped in shock and concern at the sight of Prince Zuko stepping out from behind a column while gripping Aang and Naxon from behind as he pinned their arms behind them.
"The Avatar and the Blue Spectator are coming with me!" Zuko yelled firmly as the captured Sages used their captors' surprise to reclaim the upper hand, pinning their captors down as Momo and Fluffy flies jumped off to safety. "Close the doors! Quickly!" Zuko ordered while walking down the steps with the boys as Aang and Naxon glanced over their shoulders to see their friends being chained to a column as the boys then realized that it was literally two-on-one and decided to easily break free from Zuko's grip and even kicked him down the flight of stairs with dual Airbending blasts as they then ran forward and made their way over to sanctuary doors with Blue Spectator summoning his Magic Trident while the Avatar gripped his staff tightly as they knocked away any incoming Fire Sages and entered the door as it closed up behind them.
"They made it!" A relieved and grinning Mako says as everyone then looks away when the door seals with a blinding flash of white/blue light as we cue to the scene, and we see Aang and Naxon walking up to the statue of Avatar Roku just as a compartment beside him opened up to reveal the statue of Blue Spectator Xiv as a beam of red sunlight enters the room and strikes a glistening red jewel held by the statues.
"Okay, so the light hits the statue and we talk to Roku and Xiv...so why aren't we talking to them?" A concerned Blue Spectator Naxon asked with Avatar Aang shrugging as we cued outside, and we saw a recovered Zuko and the four Fire Sages launching fire blasts into the door's locks as nothing had happened.
"Why isn't it working? It's sealed shut!" An enraged and frustrated Zuko asked as the Great Fire Sage cursed.
"It must have been the light. Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv don't want us inside." The Great Fire Sage says as we cue back to the inside of the room, and we see the duo standing around in the middle of the room, hoping to find a way to talk with their mentors as Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv's statues turn red as sunlight engulfs them and their eyes and Blue Spectator Coin glowed white/blue as smoke fills the room, and when the white smoke dissipates, Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv could be seen standing before them on a mountaintop as only clouds are visible below.
Standing before them is a 6'5-feet-tall, 70-year-old Man with amber brown eyes, long white hair that reaches past his shoulders, thin white eyebrows, a small pointy nose, a sharp chin with a long bushy beard that connects with his hair, Light Skin, a tall muscularly slim build, and his outfit consists of Fire Nation Clothing, which consists of a long-sleeved red/orange robe that reaches down to his feet. His name is Avatar Roku, the Fire Nation-Born Avatar immediately succeeding Avatar Kyoshi and preceding Avatar Aang as he is known as a wise and merciful Avatar with good intentions.
"It's good to see you, Aang. What took you so long?" Avatar Roku asked with a joking tone and a grin.
"Naxon, it's been a while." Blue Spectator Xiv says with a sly tone as Aang and Naxon perk up as they share a smile.
"Why did you help the Avatar and the Blue Spectator?" Zuko asked Shy with a glare as said person kneeled before him with his hands behind his back.
"Because it was once the sages' duty. It is still our duty." Shyu says both sadly and proudly as, suddenly, a slow clapping noise rang out, and everyone whirled around to see Zhao appear on the scene, interrupting the interrogation as he approached with six Firebender Guards.
"What a moving and heartfelt performance. I'm certain the Fire Lord will understand when you explain why you betrayed him."
"Commander Zhao." The Great Fire Sage says while placing his palms together and bowing his head forward as Zhao ignores him and turns to grin at Zuko smugly.
"And Prince Zuko. It was a noble effort, but your little smokescreen didn't work." Zhao says as Zuko scowls sharply, and two Firebenders step behind him to seize his arms. "Two traitors in one day, the Fire Lord will be pleased."
"You're too late, Zhao!" Zuko yelled definitely while straining against his captors as he glared at Zhao. "The Avatar and the Blue Spectator are already inside and the doors are sealed."
"No matter. Sooner or later, they have to come out." Zhao says with a confident grin as Team Avatar-Spectator shares a worried glance, not noticing that Commander Zhao glared over at Mako with so much hatred that surprised him as he raises an eyebrow.
"We have something very important to tell you, kids. That is why, when you were in the Spirit World, I sent our dragon to find you." Avatar Roku explained as Avatar Aang and Blue Spectator Naxon perked up.
"Is it about that vision? The one of the comet? What does it mean?"
"You see, kids, one hundred years ago, Fire Lord Sozin used that comet to begin the War." Blue Spectator Xiv explained as the kids saw a visual of a comet in the dark sky. "He and his Firebending army harnessed its incredible power and dealt a deadly first strike against the other Nations."
"So the comet made them stronger?" A shocked Blue Spectator Naxon asked as Blue Spectator Xiv nodded grimly.
"Yes. Stronger than you could even imagine."
"But that happened a hundred years ago. What does the comet have to do with the War now?" Avatar Aang asked cluelessly as Avatar Roku gave him and Naxon a serious glare.
"Listen carefully, Kids, Sozin's Comet will return by the end of this summer, and Fire Lord Ozai will use its power to finish the War, once and for all. If he succeeds, even the combined force of Avatar and the Blue Spectator won't be able to restore balance to the world. Avatar Aang and Blue Spectator Naxon? You two must defeat the Fire Lord before the comet arrives."
"What?! Are you two insane?!" A shocked Blue Spectator Naxon asked as Avatar Aang nodded anxiously.
"But I haven't even started learning Waterbending! Not to mention Earth and Fire! And Naxon barely know how to use Airbending himself!"
"Mastering the elements takes years of discipline and practice, but if the world is to survive, you two must do it by summer's end. Not only that, but you have to learn how to use Shadowbending, Lightbending, and especially, Energybending." Blue Spectator Xiv says stoically, shocking the kids as we then cue to outside, and we see all of the Firebenders, including Zhao and his crew, circling around the door's perimeter, assuming a Firebending form as they wait patiently for the door to open.
"When those doors open, unleash all your firepower," Zhao says with a harsh glare as the others nod.
"How are the boys gonna make it out of this?" A worried Katara asked as a troubled Sokka moaned.
"How are we gonna make it out of this?"
"Don't worry, they will come up with something. I know it." Mako says with a nod as we cue back to the others.
"I don't get it, not only do we have to master Air, Fire, Earth, and Water, but also three more new bendings?" Avatar Aang asked worriedly as Blue Spectator Naxon crossed his arms.
"We don't even know what Lightbending and Energybending really are."
"Oh, trust me, you two will be able to learn these types of bending soon. Past Avatars and Blue Spectators have learned these types of bending before in the past, albeit their training was kept very quiet, subtle, vague so that no one knows that the Avatar learns more than four elements." Avatar Roku explained as Blue Spectator Xiv nodded.
"Exactly, the reason why they were kept a secret is because to not throw off the balance of the world. Even Roku knew Sozin would use the secrets of the Shadowbenders, Lightbenders, and the Energybenders to wipe out his enemies if he learned of their power, but thankfully, Roku died before Sozin could extract that information from him while I was out in space."
"But what if we can't master all the elements in time? What if we fail?" Avatar Aang and Blue Spectator Naxon asked concernedly as they paced around.
"We know you can do it, Kids, for you two have mastered the elements in a year before." Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv said in unison while showing them a vision of the first Avatar and Blue Spectator, who were named Wan and Lucia, respectively, as they could be seen practicing how to use their bending with each other and even hugged each other to share a kiss as Avatar Aang and Blue Spectator Naxon were surprised by this.
"The solstice is ending. We must go our separate ways, for now." Avatar Roku says as Avatar Aang frowns worriedly.
"But we won't be able to come back to the temple."
"What if we have questions? How will we talk to you?" Blue Spectator Naxon asked as he clenched his fists.
"We're a part of you. When you need to talk to us again, you two will find a way." Blue Spectator Xiv says reassuringly as he and his friend then provide the boys a vision of Fire Navy Ships surrounding the island as well as the awaiting Firebenders on the other side of the door.
"A great danger awaits you at the temple. We can help you face the threat, but only if you two are ready." Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv said with Aang and Naxon's eyes, arrow tattoos, and armor glowing a bright blue as they nodded.
"We're ready." Avatar Aang and Blue Spectator Naxon said in unison as we cue back to the outside, and we see that the sanctuary doors were glowing with a bright white/blue light as smoke streams came through into the room and the doors unlocked themselves, beginning to open as a blinding white light force all present to look away.
"Ready..." Zhao trails off as the light fades, revealing four glowing blue eyes and a Blue Spectator Coin in the darkness. "...Fire!" Zhao ordered as he and his Fire Guards cooperate in blasting fire onto the unseen targets as the wall of fire amasses, circling its new hosts as Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv, whose eyes and Blue Spectator Coin were glowing blue aglow, revealed behind the flames, untouched as they were both twirling around their Magic Trident and Aang's Staff to twirl around the fire around them majestically as Zhao had a shocked and horror-stricken look on his face.
"Avatar Roku...Blue Spectator Xiv..." An awed Shyu says as Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv raise their staff and magic trident they then fling it forward, sending a powerful wave of heat that sears the room, blasting the offenders off their feet and melting the chains binding Katara, Sokka, Mako, Shyu, and Zuko with precision as the blast destroys the outer wall and Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv turned their glowing glares upon the offending sages with said people panicking as they all turned around to run away from their wrath. "Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv are going to destroy the temple! We have to get out of here!"
"Not without the boys!" Katara yelled sternly as Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv let out a couple of loud battle cries as they then slammed their weapons down into the ground, melting the floor with a molten Firebending trail as they then steadily lifted their staff and magic trident, causing the stream of lava below to erupt into maddened explosions as the lava soars through the temple, tearing it apart. Zhao and his Firebenders are shown fleeing for the temple's exit as Katara and the boys huddle together, arm-in-arm, behind a column as Sokka and Mako kneel over the Waterbender, protecting her in a brotherly fashion as the destruction ceases momentarily and Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv lowered their weapons while exhaling soundly as the solstice's beam of sunlight is shown leaving their statues; their eyes no longer glowing as, while this was happening, all of the smoke in the room draws in upon Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv, their forms disappearing to leave behind a weary and tired Avatar Aang and Blue Spectator Naxon.
"We got your back," Makko says as he and the others run over to Aang and Naxon, who groaned weakly and dropped down to their knees as Mako and the Water Tribe Siblings approach the boys' sides, supportively lifting them back to their feet.
"Thanks," Aang says with a weak smile as Naxon looks around confusedly.
"Where's Shyu?'
"We don't know," Katara says just as the Fire Temple begins to lean forward due to the destruction caused as Team Avatar-Spectator stares in horror upon seeing the stairwell leading to the exit filled with lava as they quickly turn to the only exit; the hole in the wall that Avatar Roku and Blue Spectator Xiv had created earlier as, thankfully, Appa, Momo, Fluffy, and Okami flew onto the scene as Naxon and the others quickly ran over to leap into Appa's Saddle before they flew off with Zhao seeing them flying away as he turned to glare at the Fire Sages.
"No Prince, no Avatar, and no Blue Spectator! Apparently, the only thing I do have is five traitors!"
"But, Commander, only Shyu helped the Avatar and Blue Spectator." The Great Fire Sage interjected concernedly and nervously as Zhao waved his hand around angrily.
"Save your stories for the Fire Lord! As far as I'm concerned, you are all guilty! Take them to the prison hold!" Zhao ordered with his Fire Nation Guards taking the Fire Sages away as Zuko could be seen spying with his telescope toward Appa flying away as he lowered the telescope and sailed off in his vessel as we then fast forward to nighttime, and we see Appa flying through the nightly clouds as a mourning Aang and Naxon sat on the saddle with their heads hung as Katara, Sokka, and Mako approach their friends to support them as Team Avatar-Spectator now realized that full weight and burden that they all have on their shoulders due to having the fate of the world on them as they all sat around somberly.
And done. I hope that you guys enjoy the chapter, and I can't wait to write the next one.
Anyway, as always, I will catch you all later.
