Hello y'all! Sorry I was gone so long. I was busy playing Pokemon like I was being paid to do it.
Anways, short, pointless drabble today because this one did not go remotely in the direction I was planning but hopefully I'll be able to update again later today and you enjoy this one anyway.
Many thanks to everyone for reading/liking/following and a special thanks to merendinoemiliano for their review. That was so sweet, I almost started crying.
Enjoy!
Summary: Donny asks Lancelot to dance with him. Or something.
Pairing: Slight Donny x Lancelot.
Warnings: None.
Between comfort and chaos
"You been holding out on me again?"
Lancelot, who'd just re-taken his spot by the wall, glanced over at Donny who looked almost as uncomfortable as Lancelot felt in his new formal wear.
At Lancelot's raised eyebrow, Donny elaborated, "I didn't know you could dance."
Ah. That. Tristan had dragged Lancelot kicking and screaming onto the dance floor and he'd only just gotten away. But Donny had been shocked to see just how well Lancelot had acquitted himself during the dance.
He didn't know why he was so surprised, Lancelot could do everything, couldn't he?
Lancelot shrugged, "yeah, I can dance. It's not like it's hard. It's not a big deal."
No, it wasn't a big deal but it was something Donny hadn't known about Lancelot. But now he did.
Before he could talk himself out of it, Donny offered Lancelot his hand.
Lancelot stared at it for a second before a slow smile began to spread across his face. That was the thing about Lancelot. He was nowhere near as aloof and unfriendly as he came off as.
He took Donny's hand, "okay, but I'm really not that good. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Donny had only seen Lancelot dance one dance and he could still categorically say Lancelot was better than Donny could ever hope to be.
"Doesn't matter, just have fun," was all he said as the band struck up a more lively tune. More of a folk dance than a formal one, which was good for Donny.
He spun Lancelot around, threw him out and tugged him back in until Lancelot broke and started to laugh.
Looking at that smile, those shining ruby eyes, Donny's heart beat double time.
He tripped and landed on Lancelot which, of course, bothered the other boy not at all. Lancelot calmly held him until Donny got his feet back under him and loosened his instinctive grip on Lancelot's shoulders.
"Sorry."
Donny felt Lancelot shrug under his hands. "It's fine."
Donny had eased his hold on Lancelot but not stepped away. Lancelot didn't move away either. Not even as the song ended and a new, much slower one started.
He offered Lancelot his hand again, "I know I'm really not good at it, but will you dance with me again?"
Lancelot's hand closed over his. "Yes."
There was something intense in that simple 'yes.' Not flippant, not profound, not just an agreement for another dance.
Just yes.
Donny pulled Lancelot to him. As his own fumbling feet had just proven to him, he didn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of moving Lancelot if he didn't want to. But Lance allowed Donny to pull him closer.
"Yes?" Donny asked again. And as simple as he could sometimes be, even he knew he wasn't just asking for permission for the dance.
Lancelot put his arms around Donny in return.
"Yes."
Done! Hope you enjoyed guys! Remember, feel free to give me a prompt!
Bye!
