Aliens of London Part 1 of 2

The following morning Maia had gotten ready changing into more modern clothes that Idris had provided for her but she still kept her lightsaber with her and then spent an hour after she woke up and got ready meditating and reassuring Ani that she was okay through the force before he had to leave on the mission that he was assigned the previous day. Knowing that he would be pretty busy with that and they wouldn't get to communicate much until the mission was over.

Rose had knocked on the door right after she had finished meditating, they had become friends fairly easily the previous night which both girls were happy about. Maia opened the door with a smile as she was slipping on the brown leather jacket that she found on her bed after her meditation session. The girl smiled when she realized that it was a replica of the one her dad wore. She made sure that her saber was camouflaged using the force that barely took any effort to keep up and she would have it if she needed it, "Ready for your first trip Maia?"

Maia smiled at the blonde. "Yeah I feel like this is going to be exciting."

Rose grinned at her new friend, "It's your first trip, probably to a planet that you've never been to so yeah it should be exciting." The two girls linked arms and made their way to the console room.

The Doctor looked at them as they entered, "Maia have you ever been to Earth?"

She shook her head, "nope, been to several planets before but not that one, though my dad has been once or twice and told me about it, that was way before he met my mom and I was born though."

"Perfect. I thought we would drop by," he looked at Rose, "you could check on your mother and then we will be on our way again... something simple for Maia's first trip."

Rose grinned "okay sounds good to me."

"Awesome." The two girls joined the time lord at the console and he then landed them in London right off from The Powell Estate, which is where Rose lived with her mother. Once the TARDIS landed the trio exited and Maia looked around this was her first time on this planet after all. She was taking in her surroundings as Rose and The Doctor spoke, she of course was listening in case it was something that she may need to know, " How long have I been gone?" the blonde questioned.

"About twelve hours." was the answer given to her by the Doctor.

Rose nodded at him, "Right, I won't be long. I just want to see my mum."

" What're you going to tell her?"

The blonde gave him a look, ": I don't know. I've been to the year 5 billion and only been gone, what, twelve hours? No, I'll just tell her I spent the night at Shareen's. See you later. Oh, don't you disappear..." then she looked at Maia, "come on Maia I'll introduce you to my mum."

Maia followed Rose as she ran up the stairs towards the Tyler Flat. Rose entered first, calling out, " I'm back! I was with Shareen. She was all upset again. Are you in? So, what's been going on? How've you been?" she then noticed the look on her mum's face, "What? What's that face for? It's not the first time I've stayed out all night... also this is my new friend Maia Shareen, introduced her to me last night.."

Jackie was looking at her daughter in shock, and dropped her mug of tea. It smashes on the floor. Maia spoke quietly to Rose, "something tells me that it's been more than 12 hours."

Rose nodded slowly letting the dark haired girl know that she heard her, "It's you." Jackie for the moment was glossing over meeting Rose's new friend since this was the first time that she had seen her daughter in a year, with no word.

The younger blonde had a look of confusion on her face, "Of course it's me."

"Oh, my God. It's you. Oh my God." Jackie hugs Rose, who spots several different types of missing person posters on the table.

Rose gave Maia a look, "I think you're right about that Maia."

That was when the doctor ran in, giving his blonde companion a sheepish look, "It's not twelve hours, it's twelve months. You've been gone a whole year. Sorry."

Rose gave him an exasperated look, as Jackie's shock turned into anger and she called a policeman, "The hours I've sat here, days and weeks and months, all on my own. I thought you were dead, and where were you? Traveling. What the hell does that mean, traveling? That's no sort of answer. You ask her. She won't tell me. That's all she says. Traveling."

"That's what I was doing." Rose said, defending herself.

But Jackie was not buying it, "When your passport is still in the drawer? It's just one lie after another."

Rose gave her mum a sheepish look, "I meant to phone. I really did. I just forgot." Maia was just staying out of this since it had nothing to do with her, though she did wince slightly at that knowing that it probably wouldn't help the situation.

And of course she was correct it didn't help at all, "What, for a year? You forgot for a year? And I am left sitting here. I just don't believe you. Why won't you tell me where you've been?"

Maia could help calm the situation a bit but they still didn't know that she was force sensitive yet and she didn't want to expose that just yet.

That was when the Doctor decided to come in, " Actually, it's my fault. I sort of er, employed Rose as my companion."

That also made Maia grimace slightly, but she still just minded her business, as the policeman looked at the time lord, "When you say companion, is this a sexual relationship?"

"NO!" Chorused Rose and the Doctor, the blonde shaking her head... she had absolutely zero interest romantically in the time lord.

Jackie scoffed at that, "Then what is it? Because you, you waltz in here all charm and smiles, and the next thing I know, she vanishes off the face of the Earth! How old are you then? Forty? Forty five? What, did you find her on the Internet? Did you go online and pretend you're a doctor?"

The older time lord looked offended, "I am a Doctor."

Jackie glared at him, "Prove it. Stitch this, mate!" she then proceeded to slap the Doctor and hard at that. After that the Policeman left the flat leaving them alone, The Doctor had left the flat and Jackie finally realized that there was someone else there, "oh hello."

Maia smiled at the older blonde, "hello."

Rose wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "mum this is Maia, she's my new friend, we met last night."

"Hello Maia, sorry to have met you like that, but it's nice to meet you, you can call me Jackie."

The dark-haired girl nodded "it's all right, it was a little unexpected, but nice to meet you as well Jackie... I'll leave you two to talk."

Rose nodded, "all right Maia I'll meet you on the roof in a bit."

Maia nodded in affirmation and followed Rose's directions on how to get to the roof of the building. When Maia arrived the Doctor was already there."Rose said she would be up in a bit, I gave her some privacy to talk to her mum."

He nodded, "so Maia, tell me more about you, while we wait for Rose to join us."

"Well I've really mentioned everything relevant for the moment, anyway there is one other thing but I would like to build a system of trust between you and Rose before I reveal that it's not anything bad, it's just precautionary measures."

The Doctor was quiet for a moment before he nodded at her, "okay that's understandable, tell me more about your father then."

And so Maia spent the next ten minutes telling him about her dad. They were interrupted when Rose joined them on the roof.

She looked between the two and sighed, "I can't tell her. I can't even begin. She's never going to forgive me. And I missed a year. Was it good?"

Maia shrugged, "how should I know, I've never been here before." Rose snorted playfully, shoving her shoulder.

"Middling." the Doctor said, answering her question.

The blonde gave the time lord a look, "you're so useless."

"Well, if it's this much trouble, are you going to stay here now?"

"Definitely not but I can't do that to her again."

He gave the blonde a look, "well, she's not coming with us."

Maia was letting them have their conversation since it had nothing to do with her, "No chance." Rose replied.

"I don't do families."

That was when Rose grinned at him, "she slapped you!"

"Nine hundred years of time and space, and I've never been slapped by someone's mother."

"Your face." Rose was laughing, Maia just snorted.

The doctor pouted, "it hurt!"

Rose had calmed down from laughing and looked at the time lord, "when you say nine hundred years?"

"That's my age."

"You're nine hundred years old?"

"Yeah."

Rose nodded at him accepting the answer, before she looked at the doctor, "Every conversation with you just goes mental. There's no one else I can talk to. I've seen all that stuff up there, the size of it, and I can't say a word. Aliens and spaceships and things, and I'm the only person on planet Earth who knows they exist."

There is a deep horn and a spaceship, trailing black smoke passes overhead and heads for the city. It misses Tower Bridge, weaves around St Paul's, then with a nasty back-fire and a splutter, dives for the Thames, taking out the Clock Tower at what at first glance looks like 9:58 except the dial is actually backwards, silly special effects people. Big Ben chimes once and the spaceship crashes into the river. The Doctor, Maia and Rose watch a plume of black smoke rise into the air on the horizon.

Rose gave the two of them a look, "Oh, that's just not fair."

Maia snorted, "Rose I think you might have just jinxed that."

Rose also snorted, "probably."

The trio made their way down to the street, all three wanting to see the crashed ship, "it's blocked off."

Rose sighed, "we're miles from the center. The city must be grid locked. The whole of London must be closing down."

Maia had seen her fair share of crashed ships but knew that different planet had different reactions to things like this and she had never been to earth so she wasn't sure what the reaction would be so she just quietly filed things away to bring up later possibly if needed.

The Doctor grinned, "I know. I can't believe I'm here to see this. This is fantastic!"

"Did you know this was going to happen?"

The doctor shook his head, "nope."

"Do you recognize the ship?" She aimed that question at both Maia and the Doctor.

Maia bit her lip, something about it did seem familiar but she wasn't sure, "it looks a little familiar but I can't recall it properly at this moment."

The Doctor and Rose both gave her a surprised look as the time lord shook his head, "nope."

"Do you know why it crashed?"

Maia shook her head at that as the Doctor also said no to knowing why it crashed.

Rose gave the man a look, " Oh, I'm so glad I've got you."

"I bet you are. This is what I travel for, Rose. To see history happening right in front of us."

Rose gave her two friends a look, "Well, let's go and see it. Never mind the traffic, we've got the Tardis."

"Better not. They've already got one spaceship in the middle of London. I don't want to shove another one on top." That answer told Maia everything that she needed to know, this planet was skeptical of aliens and would probably end up calling this a hoax.

"Yeah, but yours looks like a big blue box. No one's going to notice."

Maia piped in there, "I may not have been here before but from what I've learned from other places that have similar mindsets, you'd be surprised at what will get noticed under the least little bit of panic."

Rose looked at her surprised while the Doctor nodded in agreement, "like Maia said you'd be surprised. Emergency like this, there will be all kinds of people watching. Trust me. The Tardis stays where it is."

Rose sighed looking at the two of them, " So history's happening and we're stuck here."

"Yes, we are."

Rose sighed again, "We could always do what everybody else does. We could watch it on TV." so with that the trip walked into the Tyler flat.

News 24 is on and a reported is heard off screen, "Big Ben destroyed as a UFO crash lands in Central London. Police reinforcements are drafted in from across the country to control widespread panic, looting and civil disturbance. A state of national emergency has been declared. Tom Hitchinson is at the scene."

"The police are urging the public not to panic. There's a help line number on screen right now if you're worried about friends or family." they show several different news stations all talking about the crash.

Jackie speaks to her friend Ru Chan as she brings mugs of tea for Rose and Maia, "I've got no choice."

Maia smiled at the older blonde "thank you."

Ru looked at Rose, "You've broken your mother's heart." Rose looks sheepish and apologetic at that.

"I'm not going to make him welcome."

"I cradled her like a child." Rose gave Maia and exasperated look making sure that neither of the other two women saw it making Maia bite back a snort.

The Doctor wasn't even really paying attention to they he was too busy trying to learn about the crash, "Oi, I'm trying to listen."

The small gathering quickly turned into a welcome home party for Rose. And the younger blonde's attention was quickly captured by a handsome man that she had never met before, "mum?"

"what is it?"

"Who's that?" she discreetly nodded at the man she didn't know.

"Oh him? He's quiet lovely moved in down the hall a few weeks after you disappeared off the face of the earth, names Greyson... he's only two years older than you." Maia who was standing next to Rose when she got her mum's attention watched as said man slightly cocked his head to the side as if he were listening to them from across the room.

Maia was also intrigued to why she felt a familiar aura around him, like she knew that they had never met but something about was familiar... she deiced to approach him and try to get a read on him as discreetly as possible.

She offered her hand "hello there, I'm Maia."

He looked at her and also felt a familiarity to her that puzzled him, as he shook her hand in greeting "Greyson, I haven't seen you around the Estate before?"

"You wouldn't have it's my time here... just visiting with a friend, she lives here with her mother."

"Ahhh, of course." Maia reached out just slightly with the force to try and get a read on the man, but noticed the way he twitched slightly and she pulled back... normally when she did that they didn't feel it unless they were force sensitive but that would be impossible since from what she gathered the people of Earth knew nothing about the Jedi or using the Force.

Maia felt eyes on her and she glanced back to see Rose looking at her curiously and Maia smirked to herself, as she just got a feeling that Rose and this man would get along swimmingly.

So she discreetly motioned the blonde over which she walked over almost immediately "Hi Maia, who's your new friend here?"

Maia grinned and both Greyson and Rose noticed the mischievous glint in her eye, "Rosie this is Greyson, just thought I'd come over and introduce myself, while you were speaking with your mother... Greyson this is Rose the friend I mentioned."

The two locked eyes and both froze... Maia noticed it then, a golden cord forming between the two, which caused the brunette to squeal quietly she had never witnessed it happen with anyone other than herself.

Rose then blinked in confusion at Maia's squealing and the feeling that she got as soon as she locked eyes with Greyson, but he immediately knew what that meant as he had seen the golden cord form between them... that little sight can only be seen by time lords, to everyone else they just get a feeling when they meet their soulmates.

They broke eye contact and Rose was sending Maia a confused look as to why she was not almost jumping up and down with the way she was bouncing. "Maia what are you doing?"

Maia just laughed, "Rosie... I'm sorry I got a little excited I have never seen it happen to anyone else before..." Greyson just looked at the brunette confused as he didn't know what she was talking about and then Rose's eyes widened when she realized what Maia meant.

"Oh my god!" then she looked back at Greyson, "oh my god!"

"You know what just happened?"

Rose nodded, "yeah, pretty sure I do..."

He looked surprised by that but also a little impressed, then looked at Maia, "how did you know what happened?"

Maia smirked at him, "I saw the cord form."

"You saw the cord form?" he questioned in disbelief.

"Yep, that is why I squealed the way I did."

The Doctor hadn't even noticed any of this going on he was to focused on the TV and news of the alien crash and all that.

Then she realized something... "you saw the cord too or else you wouldn't have questioned me about it... that means you're..." she trailed off as he got the gist of what she meant.

"and if you saw it that means you are too."

Maia shrugged, "well technically I'm only half but still it applies."

That surprised him as well, since they had never heard of someone being half time lord before. That was when Greyson noticed the vortex manipulator around Maia's wrist and he recognized it... it looked identical to the one that his father had. "that vortex manipulator... where did you get it?"

"Oh my father gave it to me... the whole thing is a rather long story though, probably best discussed at a later date."

"Fair enough it's just my father had one identical to that one or well almost anyway his had an engraving on the inside of the band, it was given to him by his mother, my grandmother, after he graduated from the academy."

Maia's mind started putting pieces together after hearing that because it also had an engraving on the inside and her father had told her it was a gift from his mother, after his graduation at the academy. "this engraving do you know what it was?"

"I only saw it once but it was of our home planet Gallifrey, with a single cord attaching it to a different planet but he never told us where it was or what planet maybe he didn't even know but yeah that was it."

Maia blinked in surprise she had not expected to meet one of her half-siblings ever, she was unaware if any of them had survived but this man was proof of that considering that was exactly the engraving on the vortex manipulator around her wrist... "she was a seer." Maia whispered to herself.

Greyson looked at her having heard what she said but before he could question her on it Rose spoke up, "I'll be right back." then walked out of the flat Maia snorted when she realized her blonde friend must have noticed the doctor leaving and that was why she quickly left.

There was a slight pout on the blonde man's face after she walked away, Maia snorted, having seen that same look on her father's face whenever her mum walked out of the room for more than two minutes. "She'll be back in a minute... had to check in with our other friend who just walked outside for a moment."

A little while later Maia and Grayson were up on the roof of the building, Rose was still inside but she knew that Maia had her own soulmate so she didn't mind leaving hers alone with the brunette.

"What did you mean when you said she was a seer?"

She took the vortex manipulator from her wrist showing him the engraving. Grayson took the device and examined it, "but how is that possible? How do you have my father's vortex manipulator?"

Maia sighed, "well apparently we have the same father... he never went into much detail of the time war and all of that but he did tell me stories when I was a kid, about how he had this whole other life during that time that I had quite a few half-siblings at one point in time, my guess is he never knew that any of his other kids as escaped as well, he fled near the end using this very device he ended up on Coruscant which is the other planet in the engraving, where he met my mother Annalise and turned out that she was his bonded, his soulmate... so I just figured that she... our grandmother had to have been a seer and seen him meet her on Coruscant for her to have the two planets connected like that on a gift she gave to him years before it ever happened."

Greyson was stunned not expecting her to say that but it has to be true because how else would she have the vortex manipulator and know the story behind it, he got the sense that she only asked about the engraving to make sure she was right about it before she mentioned anything to him about it. "Wow... me and my sister are the only ones out of our family that made it out, our grandmother made sure that we did, the others were fighting, we were the youngest two and often coddled more than our siblings but that was okay we didn't really mind... after we left we ended up on a planet called Jedha and we stuck together there for a while before we decided that we wanted to explore the universe but wanted to go in different directions so we split up after that and tackled whatever we wanted first we still stay in contact almost daily but I never thought dad would have been one of the ones to escape just because he was always the one wanting to fight."

Maia nodded, "he still is just on smaller issues to stay under the radar, he never flat out said it but I always got the gist that grandma said something to him and that is the reason he ended up fleeing to Coruscant, that she told him if was what he needed to do." by that point he had handed her the device back and she secured it on her wrist once again.

"That does sound like her, I'm honestly surprised that you're half time lord, that's never been heard of before."

"Well my mom being his bonded is one of the reasons that I can exist and not burn from the inside out and the other thing well that's a bit more personal and I don't feel like we are close enough for me to reveal that just yet."

"Well that does make sense and earlier when I felt that strange tingly feeling was that you?"

"I was surprised when you reacted to that, because normally nobody feels it and it's not like an invasive overstepping boundary type thing. It just gives me a general feel of who a person is, like if you are a generally good, neutral or bad person so I know to steer clear or to approach. I will do it to everyone upon our first meeting, as a sense of how things are going to go. But when you reacted I immediately pulled back not wanting to overwhelm your senses with it"

"You sound like you have experience with that."

"Yeah, it's part of the training when learning how to use and control it."

"What is it exactly?" he was curious as to what this new found thing about him was since he had never been in direct contact with a force sensitive individual like that to realize that he, himself was force sensitive.

Maia bit her lip trying to figure out the best way to get into this without flat out telling him everything out in the open like this even if it were not likely to be overheard. Then she heard yelling from below and found an escape from the situation at hand for the moment, "later let's go and see what's going on down there."

Then she ran down the stairs and towards the commotion she heard, with her new found half-brother following her, his eyes widened seeing her run into the Tardis since it was the first time he had seen her in so long.

Maia looked at Rose, "So what's going on? What have I missed here?"

Rose grinned at her new friend and explained everything that had happened in the last 15 minutes that she had been talking to Greyson on the roof.

"Okay then so aliens are faking an alien spaceship crash? Then what are they doing here?"

Mickey nodded, "she's right it's a funny way to invade putting the world on red alert."

The doctor nodded between the two of them, "Good point! So, what're they up to?"

The doctor was down under the console panel messing with wires with the others watching him when Mickey questioned what he was doing, "So, what're you doing down there?"

"Ricky."

"Mickey." the man corrected.

" Ricky. If I was to tell you what I was doing to the controls of my frankly magnificent time ship, would you even begin to understand?"

"I suppose not." was his answer,

" Well, shut it, then."

Maia snorted at the interaction; it reminded her slightly of her uncle and father with less name calling and standoffish attitude; they joked around with each other quite often.

The man grumbled to himself after that, making Greyson also snort in amusement at the interaction reminding him of him and his sister.

The Doctor had yet to notice the new male aboard the Tardis with them too wrapped up in what he was doing to notice not that he could feel him because they can control which bonds they want to feel in their heads and right now Greyson is choosing to only feel his sister's... they always learned that any being with telepathic abilities can tap into it and use it to find them and that's not very good if you're trying to hide. So most of the time it's shut off completely unless he just wants to feel his sister's presence for a bit.

" Got it! Ha, ha! Patched in the radar, looped it back twelve hours so we can follow the flight of that spaceship. Here we go. Hold on. Come on." the doctor exclaimed as he finally finished what he was doing. He looks at the trajectory on the monitor. "That's the spaceship on its way to Earth, see? Except. Hold on. See? The spaceship did a sling shot round the Earth before it landed."

" What does that mean?" Rose questioned.

"Basically, it came from here in the first place, went up and then came back down." Maia and Greyson both said at the same time making them both snort and Rose giggled at that nodding.

Mickey and the Doctor both just noticed the other male's presence for the first time, Mickey looked confused because he had seen him around the estate some over the last year but never actually spoke to him.

"Who are you?" The doctor questioned.

There was a visible smirk on his face as he answered the question "been going by Greyson the last year, but you could just call me Grey if you so wished to." he said the one word in Gallifreyan just for the dramatic flare.

Maia snorted at that having understood what he said, then she giggled "well you certainly have his flare for dramatics... and that is not me judging because, I have it as well, probably worse because my uncle is dramatic as hell too so I really got a double dose of it."

Grey laughed as he was quickly warming up to his new found baby sister, he indeed saw a lot of Bella in her, that was his other little sister the one that he mentioned earlier that he escaped with.

"Wait a minute Grey... as in my grandson Grey whom I thought died with everyone else?"

"Yeah, Bella is out there too, we split up a while back wanting to do our own things."

Maia gasped dramatically at the whole grandson thing... "what the fuck... I did not see that coming so I reiterate what the fuck."

The doctor looked confused while Grey just laughed again, "wait so you didn't know about that little fact?"

"No, I was never told names okay, I was told it was to protect me that I didn't know any of their names, so no I did not put that together at all."

Grey smirked, "Well basically Maia is also your granddaughter and dad got away too."

"Are you certain of this?"

Grey nodded, "yeah her vortex manipulator is the same one that grandma gave dad after he graduated from the academy. Right down to the engraving on the inside of the band... Maia and I have thoroughly discussed this topic."

"That's true." Maia piped up.

Mickey and Rose were just listening confused since they didn't understand the language being spoken.

"We will discuss this more later. Right now we have bigger things to worry about."

They both agreed to that and they got back to the topic at hand still leaving Rose and Mickey confused but Grey smiled at the blonde with a promise to explain everything later.

{5.2k words}Okay so I have decided that some of the episodes will be split into two parts not all of them just some because I feel like making chapters over 5K words makes it drag on but I will not do more than two parts.
I really went a lot of my own way with this chapter and the introduction of Greyson or Grey. I was not planning on introducing him yet but it just happened as I was writing so it happened.

Next chapter will finish out Aliens of London.
