Silver; So, this is one of the most important chapters…and you forgot to upload it on time?

SilverPsychic; …yeah…sorry. Anyways, keeping this beginning Author Note quick, Izuku! *Points to Izuku* DO THE DISCLAIMER!

Izuku; E-Eh?! Me?! *Psy nods* Oh uh right! PSY DOESN'T OWN ANYONE! MY CLASS AND I BELONG TO Horikoshi AND SILVER AND MEPHLIES BELONG TO SEGA!

Chapter 29; Make or Break Moment

Adrenaline pumped through him due to nerves, this was his risk it all moment…well…not currently. Currently Silver was ignoring his class's barrage of questions as he stuffed his face with Udon. This lunch could be his last at UA…the thought haunted him worse than Tails Doll had. As fun as an obstacle course had sounded, now it plagued every second. Each click from the clock was a little closer to when that fateful moment would come. Was this how his class felt fighting for a spot in UA? If Silver slipped or tripped…that meant he could lose his spot at UA. Lose his friends…lose his dorm…what if All for One took it as a chance to make Silver an actual Nomu-? The psychic shuttered, he couldn't let that happen.

"Silver, what's going on?" Izuku huffed out of worry, "You can't just keep ignoring us, that won't make our questions go away!" Silver glanced at Izuku briefly, the poor hedgie-boy was having too much anxiety at the upcoming make-or-break moment, "Come on, you're scaring me…"

Iida slammed his hand onto the table to get his class's attention, "Silver, we are your friends. We will help you no matter what, so please, just tell us what's going on." Silver grumbled as he took another bite of Udon, his friends were not helping his nerves in any way….

"The teachers said I can't tell you…"

Once Iida heard that, his demeanor took a complete 180, "Leave Silver alone! He is merely following the rules of what our teachers asked." The whole class screamed, "WHAT?!" At his sudden change, "The teachers know what's best for us and Silver, I'm sure they will handle it and we'll see Silver back to his happy upbeat state in no time!" Silver stared at Iida, trying to process just how fast he could change opinions.

But Iida's words did get him more nervous…there was no guarantee that Silver was going to be there tomorrow to tell them what was wrong. After finishing his second bowl of Udon, Silver realized just how shaky he was. His chopsticks rattled in the bowl he held. Should he get another bowl…? His nerves were giving him an unsettling big appetite, but he didn't want to eat too much and then feel too full to do the obstacle course. So, taking a deep shaky breath, Silver returned the tray and marched back off to the lockers. The faster he got this over with, the faster he could get the result. The anticipation was almost as bad as straight-up failing, all the what-ifs trying to buzz into his head. But Silver shook his head, he couldn't let the negative overcome the positive. Being in a bad headspace while taking such an important test would sure him to fail.

Opening the locker room door, Silver grinned. No, he was gonna win this. He was GREAT at obstacle courses! Fiddling with his locker, the psychic focused on the positive outcomes. This couldn't be any harder than an Eggman battle, a run through Crisis City, or heck, even getting through Tails' lab without dying. He could do this. He would do it, and do it amazingly! Silver began to change into his gym uniform, this was a make-it-or-break-it moment, and he was gonna make it with a smile! Heck, it wasn't like he was going to die if he failed. Silver had been in much worse situations and came out amazingly! Zipping up his gym uniform, Silver nodded as he gave himself the positive encouragement he needed. 'This might even be fun!' Silver thought with a smile as he once again left the locker room. Much more encouraged to win this challenge.

Silver couldn't just prance straight back to where he was doing the Quirk Assessment Test, since his entrance exam would take place in a different area. In what area…? He wasn't informed. So instead he had to head down to the principal's office again. The ivory psychic kept his head held high, he was gonna be fine. Silver walked down the empty halls, hearing the bell ring. Lunch was over. Kids started piling out of the lunchroom, quick to get to their next class before they got an upset teacher. He didn't want to get into a fuss with Monama, seeing the weirdo was down the hall. Silver quickly picked up his pace, but the attempt was futile. Monama began calling for him, shouting various insults as he approached to try and slow down Silver. The hedgie-boy quickly entered the principal's office before Monama could get to him.

"Hm?" All Might hummed seeing Silver enter quickly, "Excited to get to the course, are we?" The kind-hearted pro laughed and Silver nodded a little wearily.

Aizawa huffed as he pulled himself to stand, "Right, let's get going. Follow me then." He walked passed Silver and hesitated at the door, "Principale Nezu, All Might, and Present Mic will be watching as well. Midnight wanted to as well but she is teaching 1-A right now." Erasre Head opened the door, "Ectoplasm is also joining." Man, Silver was getting quite the crowd.

The world/time traveler followed Aizawa as they walked along the tight dirt path, "So," Silver held his hands together, "Where is this obstacle course taking place?" All Might followed Silver, clearly seeing the boy's nerves returning, "Is Principal Nezu already there?"

"Yes, Principal Nezu is already waiting." All Might answered Silver's questions for Aizawa, "And you will be doing an obstacle course race, like the one from the Sports Festival." Silver frowned, he knew NOTHING about the sports festival…except that Izuku was well known for breaking all his bones while doing it, "So it will be taking place at the UA Sports Stadium." …Silver had no idea what any of that meant, but he just smiled and nodded.

Aizawa sighed in an 'I don't care' mood, "For you, the name of the game is to complete the course as fast as possible. You will have five minutes," The tone Aizawa said that in…made it sound like that was going to be nearly impossible to finish in five minutes, "There will be three sections, so in turn, three strikes." Aizawa put his hands into his pockets, "Each sector has its own rules, if you break one, that's counted as a strike. Three strikes and you fail. The timer runs out and you fail." Silver swallowed, well…that wasn't very bad-? It didn't sound like it at least. "Mic will explain the rules more. Maybe."

They stopped outside a large wall. Aizawa motioned for Silver to stay put, and so the student waited. All Might and Aizawa left Silver at the gate of whatever this was. The birds chipped calmly and the breeze tugged at his hair. The psychic wrung his hands as he awkwardly waited. It felt a little chilly to be in his gym suit, he wished he had brought his coat…or scarf. His foot tapped nervously, there was no sign of his teachers…had he already failed? The clouds overhead danced softly across the sky like a beautiful spray of fluffy art. One of the clouds looked like a smudged Flicky, another looked like a lantana…another looked like Eri's bag. Silver smiled softly, man, he loved blue skies…it was his absolute favorite thing. Flying in the great blue sky and dipping his hand into the clouds…sunsets or sunrises from up so high…beautiful golden rays washing upon his face. The absolute sheer unprotected beauty of seeing it all up so high. No buildings to block the view, no voices whispering all about the negativity…just him and his thoughts in the big freeing-

"Hellooooo SILVER!" Mic shouted, startling Silver from his thoughts and making the student scream, "Whoa, calm your horses, hedgehog!" Mic laughed, Silver glanced around, what? Where were the teachers-? "Up here kiddo!" Mic's face was a nice close-up and personal with the tablet screen a little robot was holding, "Ready? As Sleepzawa already said, this is a three-part race. First part; Eliminate all your foes! That means you just ensure they are unable to move or dead. Second Part; Cross the Cannyon! No cheating by flying gotta type rope! Final Part; Don't blow up! Pretty self-explanatory!" Mic backed up from the camera, showing the other teachers waiting with an encouraging smile (minus Aizawa who just stared blankly), "READY?!"

Before the hedgie boy could open his mouth to ask a question, the large gates flung open. The five-minute timer began and several much larger than him monstrosities of metal towered above. "BEGIIIIIIIIIN!" Mic shouted with much enthusiasm. Silver's brain froze for a second, holy CRAP! Those were some biiiig Mechs…wait…Mechs?! They gave Silver robots as enemies?! Silver bent himself down, this was the biggest advantage ever! They didn't know Silver specialized in robot destruction, it was second nature by now. Launching himself forward, Silver couldn't help but smile. What a favor! With a test, Silver shot himself through one of the large green robot's chests. No special metals, no special equipment, no people trapped inside, no hidden catches, just a hunk of metal and wires! How easy! Silver grabbed a handful of wires and ripped them out of the robot. Quickly breaking the backside of the robot's panels, Silver dropped the useless wires. One mech down, 5 to go. This was like crushing badniks! (A\N; Probably the only advantage he has-)

"MAAAN! Look at him go!" Mic screamed, giving unwanted commentary to Silver's actions, "Robo-Smoothy anyone?!"

Psychically ripping off the first impaled mech's arm, Silver used that arm like a huge Piko Piko mallet and smashed all the other 5 mech's heads into themselves. They were like crushed cans under their own buddies' hands! Lifting all the broken mechs in power, Silver made a motion like he were to be crunching up a piece of paper to be discarded. Setting it down gently, Silver tapped each husk of metal. When getting no response, and all the wires had been snapped anyway, Silver quickly turned around. No time to waste! Glancing at the clock Silver grimaced a little, Four minutes and thirty-two seconds remaining. Had he been that slow to crush a few bots? Balancing speed and efficiency was hard. Silver pushed himself faster in his power, following the given track as the wind whipped his hair around.

"WHOAA! Tossed away like my old sketches!" Mic laughed and grinned, "Things are looking GOOOOD! And double-checked opponates are out for the count, GREEN FLAGS!" Silver landed, looking a little worried at his next obstacle, "HOW IS THE PSYCHIC GONNA PASS THE FALL WITHOUT HIS FLIGHT?!" Aizawa groaned at his loud friend as Silver glared analytically at this interesting issue, "TIME FOR SOME CREATIVITYYYYY!"

The unofficial student's brows furrowed, he could still use his quirk. Just no flying…and he was sure if he fell, that was also a strike. The cannon was large, with small chunks of hand only being held together by fairly thin type ropes. He took a step back, and with a half-baked plan, Silver ran forward. Once his boot collided with the thin rope, it bounced harshly. But that was to be expected and the psychic at least took that into account. Using his power to stabilize himself and the rope below, the freshman ran across the rope-like solid ground. His boots hit solid ground again before meeting with rope.

"SMART! Stabilize the rope and your balance!" Present Mic said, "Wish I could stabilize my tea that good!" Silver completely ignored his loud English Teacher's commentary and glanced at the clock then back to the canyon ahead, this route was gonna take too long! Silver glanced around at the ropes…well…the psychic stopped on the next pad of dirt. Checking where the ropes were, Silver went for a risk. Trusting his aerial agility blindly, Silver jumped forward to the next rope. But his feet didn't make the mark! "OH NO! RISKING EFFICACY FOR SPEED! NOW HE MISSED-!" But that was ok, it was intentional, "OH?!" Silver grabbed the rope right as it passed his line of sight and before he fell to the depths below, "HE CAUGHT IT!" Mic yelled in surprise and awe, seeing how Silver was changing up his tactic, "NOW WHAAAAT?!" (A\N; Rip I cant spell, sorry for any errors…I'm trying.)

Silver gripped the rope and swung his legs forward, momentum. He just needed enough momentum-! One, his gloves loosened a little so he could swing with less friction. Two, time almost seemed to slow down as he caulized his target on the second swing. Three! At the perfect angle and momentum during the third swing, Silver let go of the rope. Flinging into the air, his body flipped over itself. Present Mic screamed in shock at the intensity of Silver's tactic change. Steadying his position, Silver landed on the next rope. The intensity of his land and the elasticity of the rope below gave the psychic enough momentum to be launched into the air again. The hedgie-boy's hair flew up as his body was pulled down by gravity. Silver reached out and caught another rope just barely, gaining enough momentum once again to send himself flying.

"NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL FLYING THROUGH! But completely within the rules!" Mic announced with an excited smile as Silver repeated the process a few more times, "Look at him GO! Flashy and fast way to get over The Fall without actually falling!" Silver caught himself in his power as he reached the other side, two minutes and five seconds remaining-! Last obstacle! Silver landed at the entrance of the landmines, "Now, FINAL PUSH! If even ONE of these landmines go off, that's an INSTANT FAIL!" Silver bent over, his hands on his knees as he panted, "And again NO FLYING STRAIGHT OVER! Get CREATIVE!"

He groaned as he wiped his brow, dang this gym uniform was gonna need a wash or two-! Silver stood up, there was no time to waste, and this called for some quick thinking. Was there some sort of pattern? No… What could he do for speed and efficiency? Silver began running blindly into the field, jumping from clear spot to clear spot. This was a slow method…his hands lit aglow with cyan. A small shield hovered beside each hand as he ran. The psychic tossed a shield forward, no bombs went off or even left alerted of the presence. So, the battered teen leaped. He jumped onto the shield, sliding on it like it were a hoverboard for a few feet. Silver tossed the next one forward, leaping onto it and sliding on it until the momentum died out. He jumped off the shelf before running on the minefield again, careful but quick-footed. This still isn't working as well as he hoped. Mic's commentary fell on deaf ears as Silver focused, he wasn't the best at being quick-witted.

Only a minute left…he still was halfway through the field. Silver growled to himself, what could he do? No bombing landmines, no flying…he couldn't use telepathy, foresight, or psychic knives to go faster. An idea sparked, and the psychic paused. Bending down, he fiddled with his boots. They never said anything about lifting the mines! He only had forty seconds, desperate times call for desperate measures. Mic was yelling something as well as the other teachers got antsy, Silver was gonna cut it close. The freshman hopped a little as he ripped off his boots, as much as he adored them, he knew they were weighing him down. Out of sight, out of mind. The psychic tossed his boots far ahead and into the tunnel out of reach for the mines, and then he bent down. Thirty-six seconds- The landmines lifted into the air and his socks dug into the dirt. The mines didn't go off, thank goodness, butterflies filled his stomach as he tensed. Twenty-eight seconds!

Pushing himself forward, he ran with everything in him across the field. With the weight of his boots off him, Silver ran a lot faster. The sweat poured out of him as he ran, his ears pinned back. With each push, his thoughts ran faster. Silver reached forward, he couldn't lose after everything! He wouldn't! The psychic ran into the dark tunnel and his heart was pounding. Adrenaline filled his system; he was so close! Silver yelped as he tripped…over his boots. He managed to grab them but it caused Silver to somersault over himself. The teachers held their breath as the timer ticked down to dangerous levels and Silver was struggling…would he make it? (A\N; Will I ruin this whole story-?!)

The timer stopped as Silver emerged from the tunnel, wearing his boots again and stumbling over his own feet. The hedgie-boy stumbled and tucked into a summersault, landing in an adrenaline-induced-panic sit. His face was red and sweaty, his uniform wet and stuck to himself. His hair is a mess and his person was covered in dirt. His heart dropped as his nerves heightened and the butterflies in his stomach seemed more like angry moths attacking him. 15.74 seconds… Silver's eyes widened as he stared at the remaining time, his face paling as emotions flooded him. Just…barely…all the tense muscles and stiff joints melted seeing he was in the clear. The teachers all screamed in celebration seeing Silver had done a wonderful job in earning his place, passing with beautiful colors. Even if it was a close call. Silver on the other hand, just melted into the dirt. (A\N; Lol, Imagine Aizawa screaming excitedly.)

His arms spiraled to the sides of him. Silver didn't care about getting dirty, he was already so mucky. It didn't matter. He passed…He freaking passed! It was…quite a bit harder than he thought it would be…especially with the limits…but it felt so worth it. The psychic stared at the blue sky, he was almost sure a vibrant sky was his lucky charm. The hedgie-boy smiled a little, he stumbled around like a toddler and yet he still passed. He began to giggle and a broad smile broke onto his face, a full fit of hearty laughter erupted from him. Silver had been so worried! He finally passed! Such a weight off him was so freeing, to the point Silver was in a strong fit of laughter. He didn't know why he was laughing, he was just so happy!

The teachers all came down from the podium, Silver's laughter was contagious as they shared the boy's happy vibes. All that was left to battle was paperwork. All Might helped Silver up, noting Silver needed a serious bath. Present Mic shook Silver happily, congratulating him for his victory and his fast thinking. Excoplama gave a compliment on how far Silver had come. Nezu announced Silver had passed with flying colors. Aizawa even pat Silver's head, saying something along the lines of "Glad you won't be an illegal hero anymore" or something. Everything was just a blur after that. Getting all cleaned up, changing into his school uniform, finishing his classes, going to the Cafe, dealing with more paperwork, staring at the wall in the dorms, having dinner, and going to bed…Silver did all of that on autopilot. His mind couldn't stop replaying that moment…the psychic was so proud he had earned his place now…it wasn't just handed to him…

Though he had passed all the physical tests, and the written ones, they were still fighting the stupid legal issues. Silver groaned softly at the pile of paperwork he was doing, it was meant for adults because every other word Silver had to ask what it meant. Maybe that was an exaggeration, but still, basically every big fancy word that popped up Silver had to ask what it meant. Currently, though, he was just filling out needed information for himself. Height, Age, Eye color, etc. Most of which Silver wasn't sure of and had to check. He knew his age and eye color, but it was new information for him to learn his height and weight. The hedgie-boy tapped the pencil he held, stuck on another question. Birthday. He wasn't sure…he and Blaze always celebrated his 'birthday' on the day they met. November 14th…but the year was unknown. He grabbed a sip of his tea, it felt wrong to lie about the year…but it was probably for the best.

Silver sighed, glancing over the work he had already put down, "Silver, I think I should be able to finish up the last of the paperwork myself." Nezu perked up, seeing Silver visibly stressed with handling such professional paperwork, "If you got down most of what you can remember, then I should be able to do the rest." The hedgie-boy glanced at the principal, then back to the legal work.

"You're sure?"

Nezu nodded as Silver asked. The mousy principal smiled fairly confident in his skills as he took the papers away from Silver. With a kind smile, the small principal shooed Silver back to his dorm. The psychic was fairly glad for the break and gratefully accepted. He picked up his things and followed the given orders, heading back to the dorms. No one had asked much about why Silver still had been pulled out of class now, though the ivory teen was fairly sure that was because Iida was strict about following the rules. He began his walk back to the dorms, wrapping that soft crimson scarf around his nose. A glance towards the sky made a frown pull at his expression, the vibrant blues were painted over with dull grays. It wasn't bad, it just made the world seem a little more dull in color. Silver kicked a rock, watching it tumble along the dirt as he trudged forward. The freshmen couldn't wait to snuggle under some warm covers with a nice book (currently he had been reading ahead in the Japanese Hero History lessons) and relax a bit.

The rhythmic back and forth of his walking was almost soothing. The air is slightly damp with a pre-rain scent. Rain…something he still wasn't used to and had only seen a few times…but it was amazing to him. Silver wished he could just dance in the rain. The sky's tears ran down his face and through his hair, that cold drip drop of water raining onto him. It was refreshing. At least to Silver, he was always told to wear a coat or get an umbrella. But he just wanted to feel the rain pouring on him. It was something Silver didn't get a lot of, and he always enjoyed it. The smell of rain in the air made him smile, the plants would grow and the rivers would run. Maybe there would even be a rainbow. And puddles to splash in! The animals could also feel the rain coming, squirrels ran into their nests and birds hid in the trees.

Silver paused feeling his pocket vibrate.

Problematic Bones: Hey Silver, Nighteye is awake! Mr. Aizawa said he wanted to see us, and Mirio! I'm sure Nighteye will have questions about how you saved him and all…you owe him an explanation.

SilverPsychic; Haaaaa, did I fool any of you for a moment there? Did anyone think he was gonna fail?

Silver; *Dies* Why do you just love to do this? …I'm gonna have to make cupcakes to calm down…

SilverPsychic; Random Fact about your baking habit Silver. You make around 250 cupcakes every time you bake for your entire class and some to have plenty!

Silver; …why do…huh? Why do I need to know that? Where did that fact even come from-?!

SilverPsychic; Meh brain. I was bored and ya' know. Maths the cupcakes.

Izuku; Wha-?

SilverPsychic; By the way, for those who care, I'm actually dyslexic. So I apologize for the spelling errors. I've been trying too hard to ensure I didn't have any, but sometimes they still slip through. ANYWAYS! Next Time! Crosswalks! (Which I'll hopefully upload this weekend.) Little Telepathy mishap, they walk to Nighteye's hospital and Silver is fairly nervous about meeting Nighteye once again. For once to talk to the Pro without being in battle or in a serious situation. Thank you all for reading!
