A/N: A large authors note will be at the bottom of this chapter. I would really appreciate it if you guys could read it. Enjoy the chapter.

Cress squinted as a sudden flash of light blinded her temporary, and before she knew it she was once again aware of herself, and was able to move. She looked around cautiously, finding herself in what looked like a plaza of some sort. Sensing that someone or something was behind her, she turned and couldn't help but let her mouth fall open as she stared in shock at the giant, green dragon hovering in the air above her.

"YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED! FAREWELL!", the dragon spoke, before suddenly vanishing inside of orange light, as seven orbs shot up from the shrine they were on before scattering in different directions. Cress stared in awe, barely able to process what had happened before the green scouter that was on her face lit up. Remembering that someone had called her here, Cress bore a serious face as she turned to face a lavender haired man with a black coat approaching her.

"You're surprised I'm sure", the man said, stopping just short of her.

"That's putting it mildly", Cress replied, reading the numbers on her scouter before they stopped. "Who are you? You're pretty brave to summon someone like me with a power level of only 5!"

At that, the man huffed. "Do not rely on that thing. It is misguiding you, for I can suppress and raise my power level at will. There are other ways to judge the strength of your opponent". Suddenly, he flew forward, pulling a giant sword from the holster on his black and slashing at Cress a few times. Though the Saiyan-hybrid dodged the swipes, she felt as though the man was far stronger then he was letting on, especially since the scouter on her face rapidly was trying to shift to a higher number, before suddenly dropping back down to 5 again.

"Get serious!", Cress shouted, throwing a few punches at him, which the man dodged effortlessly before he flipped back. "Show me your real power!"

"I can't", the man replied, smirking a little and putting away his sword. "If I do, the scouter on your eye will break."

"Oh yeah?", Cress growled, holding her right hand out and charging a silver energy blast. "Then I'll force your power out! Cosmic Cannon!" A silver beam of energy shot forth from her hand. The lavender haired man watched the beam approaching him with his blue eyes, before holding out his hand and meeting the blast head on, barely putting any effort in holding the attack back. Cress watched her scouter as she continued to shoot the beam at him, shocked at the number raising rapidly on the screen. "Two... no three... five thousand! What is going on!? It's still raising!"

The man then let out a yell as he lifted the beam into the air and it flew off into space. At the same time, the green scouter exploded, forcing Cress to close her eye before any shards of glass got into it, as the ear holder fell uselessly onto the ground and sparked. Cress looked at her attacker in fear now, realizing just how outmatched she really was.

"You were chosen by Shenron. Sorry for attacking you, by the way", the man said as gently as possible to the young Saiyan, as he lowered his arm and relaxed his posture. "My name is Trunks, and I am the one who summoned you. My wish was for a warrior to come to this time and aid us, and I guess you are the one. What is your name, warrior?"

"Cress, my name is Cress. Wait, hold on, you said you need my help? You have a power level that hit almost 20,000 before my scouter exploded! My power level is way below that! What help can I be to you?"

Trunks laughed at that, "Again, power levels aren't everything, and there are... complications, to me aiding on the mission that you are going to do. Let's just say I cannot go, for the timeline is already in shambles. And as much as I'd love to send one of our other members, we're stretched pretty thin as it is and they're busy with various other missions, even though we've been recruiting as often as possible."

"Timeline? Other members?" Cress asked, but suddenly her stomach growled as hunger began to get to her. Trunks suddenly started laughing at that, causing Cress to glare at him. "It's not funny!"

"Sorry, sorry", Trunks took a breath, calming himself. "You truly are a Saiyan, alright, despite the hair. Bet you'll eat just like them as well. Well, I will get you something to eat, and we can talk about why you are here, ok?"

"I'll believe it when I see it", Cress muttered, however in what seemed like no less then five minutes later Cress was sitting crosslegged on a picnic blanket, stuffing her face with some of the most delicious food she had ever had in her life, with Trunks watching her half amused, and half amazed that such a small Saiyan could consume so much. Despite seeing it before, Trunks was still bewildered every time he watched a Saiyan eat, even though he was no stranger to the sight.

"Anyway", Trunks cleared his throat and sat across from her, as Cress continued to eat. "As I was saying before, Cress, the timeline is in trouble. We're in a place known as the Toki Toki world, a place where the flow of time gathers. I am a member, and second in command, of a group known as the Time Patrol. We travel through time correcting changes to history that could end up changing the course of history as we know it, as when history goes off course, a false timeline is created. As Time Patrol members, we'll fight all throughout time. Sometimes we deal with legendary fighters, and dangerous forces."

"Like Frieza?", Cress asked through a mouthful of noodles that were hanging out of her mouth.

"Yes, like Frieza, and sometimes stronger", Trunks replied, causing Cress to begin to choke on her noodles. Trunks rushed over and clapped her back a few times until she coughed out the noodles back into the bowl, staring at him with wide eyes.

"Stronger then Frieza!?", Cress asked, looking stunned.

"Yes", Trunks replied. "I know it is a lot to take in, and I haven't even covered all of it yet, but do want to join?"

Cress looked down into her bowl, watching as the noodles floated around for a bit before turning back to Trunks. "You said before that I was chosen by this 'Shenron', however, I am nothing compared to someone like you. Hell, you could've chosen another Saiyan far stronger then me, and pure blooded on top of that."

"Pure-blooded?", Trunks asked, looking confused. "Aren't you a Saiyan? Shenron told me the warrior he chose for me was from Planet Vegeta just before it was eliminated."

"I am, but only half", Cress sighed, figuring there was no point in hiding something from someone who can summon people with a magical wish-granting dragon. "I am half-Tuffle, half-Saiyan; the only one in recorded history, apparently."

"A Tuffle? You mean the race the Saiyan's made extinct on the planet they took over and turned into Planet Vegeta?", Trunks thought for a moment, before putting a comforting hand on Cress' shoulder. "Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. I can't even imagine what your life was like till now, but no one here is going to judge you for being only half-Saiyan, especially not me"

"What makes you say that?"

"Because I am half-Saiyan, half-human", Trunks replied, before standing up. Cress looked flabbergasted at him for a few moments, before suddenly she smiled wide. Trunks smiled back at her, before turning and beginning to walk away. "Come on, I want to show you something!"

"Wait, I have questions!", Cress shouted, following after Trunks and taking some food with her, stuffing her face once again and talking through her mouth. "Who are your parents? What is a human? Where were you all this time when I needed a friend!? Hey, wait up!"

"We call this the Time Nest." They had entered what looked like a large, glass dome with some grasslands. Two buildings were there, a smaller, circular house and a large dome like structure with a giant tree growing out of the center of the building, which was surrounded by walls. "The Supreme Kai of Time lives here and manages this entire place." He looked at the small house as he said that, before turning to the large dome with the tree growing out of it. "We also have the Time Vault here, which has many important texts pertaining to history and what occurred throughout."

"So whenever history changes, it will occur within the Time Vault?", Cress asked, looking in awe.

"Yes, but only in the texts. It's better that I show you. Before you showed up, one of the texts began to change. I think it will be a perfect first assignment for you, given the low power level of the individual it is affecting."

Trunks lead the way into the Time Vault, which contained nothing more then a huge room with thousands upon thousands of scrolls on the walls. Each bunch of scrolls was behind metallic grates, though some shoots were below the grates which were either opened or closed. On one of the ones that was opened, a blue glow emitted from it, and when Trunks stepped up to the opening, a scroll descended down and landed in his outstretched hand. Cress couldn't help but notice that the scroll was glowing with a dark, purple aura.

"This is a Scroll of Eternity", Trunks told her. "All of time, and all of history, are recorded onto these individual scrolls. Here, see for yourself."

Trunks placed it onto the circular table that surrounded the entire tree, and Cress peered over to see that, where normally there would be text, it was almost as if she was looking through a window. Here, she noticed that three figures were locked in a struggle. A green, pointed eared alien was charging what looked like a yellow attack with purple lighting coming out of his two fingers.

"Special Beam Cannon!" the green alien screamed, before firing the attack.

Cress immediately gasped. Two Saiyans were struggling, one of them wearing the black and brown version of the same armor she was wearing, and the other looked identical to Bardock but without his signature scars, struggling to hold him in place. Suddenly, the long haired, armored Saiyan gained a burst of power and elbowed the orange Gi wearing Saiyan, who was pierced by the attack as the armored one dodged, shocking the green alien who clearly didn't expect the sudden raise in power. He was then blasted by the strengthened Saiyan, who began laughing at the death of his two foes.

"Bardock!?" Cress gasped, almost grabbing the scroll if not for Trunks grabbing her shoulder.

"No, that is not him", Trunks explained. "That is his son- well, ok, both of them are his sons."

"You mean that was Raditz and Kakarot?" Cress asked, baffled. "But they were mere children when I last saw them! How are they adults now!?"

"The one you know as Kakarot was sent to Earth as a baby, before Planet Vegeta blew up" Trunks explained to her. "On Earth, they named him Goku, and he thought he was a human until Raditz came to the Planet Earth to find him, and the battle between the two brothers began. The reason you are seeing him now as an adult is because, in this current age, this took place in the past. Planet Vegeta exploded in Age 737, and right now…" Trunks gulped a bit, unsure of how Cress would take this but knowing she had to know. "We're in Age 850."

"WHAT!?", Cress shouted, almost falling as she stumbled back a bit. "You mean to tell me that I was summoned forward 113 years into the future!?"

"Yes", Trunks nodded in conformation. "You see, we usually recruit from our own time. That's the case with several of the Human, Namekian and Majin forces in our ranks. We do have a few Saiyan members though. I guess you can say we rescued them from various points in time because we saw their potential, or they were chosen by the Supreme Kai of Time. In your case, Shenron, the giant green dragon you saw earlier, must've seen some potential in you, because I asked him to summon me a warrior who will be able to aid us on our mission, and he picked you."

"That must mean you're a hybrid between one of those Saiyans from the past and a Human from this time."

"No, actually. Guess I can tell you now that you know you're in the future. You see, this history is also part of my history… you see, although I am not here yet, I do appear in these scrolls eventually. What you just saw, and where you will travel to, is the Age 761. I will be born in the Age 766, 5 years after this battle. Guess you can say I am a warrior from the past just like you are, just a different point in time."

"Yeah", Cress sighed. "I'm 17 now, and was summoned from 737, so I was born in the year 720. So you're half human because you are Kakarot's son born in Age 766? Heh, guess that makes me older then you."

"Well, no I am not Goku's son", Trunks corrected her sheepishly. "And before you ask, no, I am not Raditz's son either. Raditz was actually meant to die in his battle, before any offspring were born from him. Goku, or Kakarot as you know him as, has a son, but his name is Gohan. He is half-Human, half-Saiyan like me. However, he was born long before my father even came to the planet Earth for the first time. It's a long story, and honestly getting into it would take more time then we can afford right now."

"So, Kakarot defeats Raditz in this battle, but somehow the timeline was corrupted so that Raditz won instead?", Cress asked with a nod coming from Trunks to confirm what she was saying was true.

"The Namekian is known as Piccolo, though right now he thinks he is a demon", Trunks explained to her. "The Special Beam Cannon attack he fired was supposed to kill both Goku and Raditz, however as you can see, someone altered the timeline so that the attack missed Raditz instead and only killed Goku."

"Wait, Kakarot dies in this battle?"

"Yes, but he is brought back to life by Shenron later. He can do more then just summon people, after all."

Cress just stared at Trunks for a few moments before looking back at the scroll. "Wow, ok... this is a lot to take in. So, my job is to go in there, help Kakarot and Piccolo defeat Raditz, by making sure Piccolo can kill both of them. But, won't I mess up the timeline father just by doing what I am about to do?"

Trunks shook his head at that. "No, the Supreme Kai of Time will go back and make them forget you ever were there. However, that cannot be done if the timeline is messed up in the first place. You need to correct it so that she can go back and erase their memories of you, and due to the timeline being back to normal, things will continue to flow and correct itself from there farther, going back to how they once were before changes ever occurred."

"So, they won't remember me at all?", Cress frowned at that.

Trunks gave her a sad smile before putting his hand on her shoulder once again. "It's the way things have to be, Cress. Technically, you're supposed to be dead right now. The fact you're here and can do some good for us is what matters. Of course, you don't have to accept my offer."

"What will happen to me if I don't?"

"I can't just send you back to your death", Trunks shook his head. "So, you'd be given housing and stuff here just like I intended to give you if you joined the Time Patrol, but you'll need to find some other form of work while here. We were going to pay you well for your missions, of course, but if you won't take the job then you'll have to find something else to do. There's a full city next to the Time Nest, and not everyone that lives there is a member of the Time Patrol, so there should be some work for you to do."

"I'm not sure what I can really do considering I was in the Saiyan Army pretty much all my life. Not sure there are any other skills that I possess." Cress signed before looking back at the scroll and clenching her fists. "Screw it, let me at least do this mission and see what I am getting myself into. Then, I'll make up my mind."

"Works for me", Trunks smirked, rolling up the scroll and handing it to her. "And don't worry, this shouldn't be too hard. Oh, here". Trunks held out a white ear piece which looked like it went directly into her ear. "It has a built in microphone that allows me to communicate with you, and there is a second powerful microphone on it so that I can hear what people say to you, and you can say stuff to me as well. Just don't say anything too loud for others to hear, they might think you're talking to yourself."

Cress nodded at him before closing her eyes and focusing, feeling energy surround her body before she vanished on the spot and appeared a few feet away from the battle that was going on. She was sent back a few minutes before Piccolo fired his attack, and this time she was witnessing Goku getting beaten by Raditz as he lied on the ground, while Piccolo stood off to the side charging his attack with two fingers to his forehead. Raditz suddenly stopped slamming his foot onto Goku's chest, as a small Saiyan boy suddenly shot out of the Saiyan Spacepod he was locked inside of. Cress guessed immediately that this was Gohan, who was glaring at Raditz with intense hate in his eyes.

"LEAVE MY DADDY ALONE!", Gohan screamed, flying forward suddenly at a high speed directly at Raditz. Instantly, Cress noticed his eyes flash, and a dark aura surrounded him. Instantly knowing that now the time altercation was occurring, Cress knew she had to act fast before something bad happened that couldn't be reversed. Raditz dodged the attack, before aiming his hand back at Gohan and firing a giant beam of energy.

"GOHAN!", Goku called out, his eyes wide with fear. Raditz smirked, however his scouter suddenly flashed again as he turned, noticing Cress standing there. She had dashed forward with speed she didn't know she had, and grabbed Gohan before the blast could connect with him. The child had knocked himself out, and was laid gently on the ground by Cress before she stepped forward, glaring at Raditz.

"That uniform", Raditz snarled, glaring at her. "Are you another Saiyan? No, you can't be, your hair is green. Than, are you a member of the Frieza Force?"

"I'm an ex-member of the Frieza Force", Cress declared, getting into a battle stance. "Just haven't had a chance to change yet."

Raditz smirked, his eyes flashing again as the dark aura intensified around him. "You're a fool to challenge me to a fight, but so be it. Right now, I feel more powerful then I ever have in my life, and you'll be the first to die out of these insects! Frieza will reward me handsomely for taking care of a traitor such as yourself."

"A friend of yours, Goku?", Piccolo asked, looking over at Cress.

"No", Goku weakly muttered, attempting to get up. "But, I think she can help."

"Leave it to me", Cress smirked back at him, before turning back to Raditz. "Just be sure you're ready to help when you're ready with whatever you're charging up over there", Piccolo nodded at her, going back to charging his attack. Goku continued to try and get up, his body brushed and beaten.

Raditz huffed, before pressing on his scouter and scanning her. "Power level of 1750? Not bad at all, in fact at one point I would have considered that threatening. But, because of what just happened to me before that kid charged at me, I am willing to take my chances with a bet that I am stronger now. Besides, no matter how much trash there is, it's still TRASH!"

Raditz flew at her with intense speed, and Cress barely had time to block before his fist slammed into both of her arms which were crossed in front of her defensively. She flew back from the force of the attack, before landing on her feet and blocking a few more punches that Raditz threw at her, before going on the offensive and punching back, landing in a few hits but being blocked most of the time. Suddenly, Raditz shot a kick at her, which connected and sent her flying a bit back.

"I don't get it, I'm stronger by his scouter measurements", Cress growled, getting into a stance after landing as Raditz did the same. "Why did he get a shot in at me?"

"Don't rely on the number", Trunks stated again in her ear piece. "Power levels aren't everything, it's not always the higher number that wins. Whoever is messing with time is augmenting both Radiz's power as well as his latent abilities. All you need to do is what Gohan failed to do. In the original timeline, Gohan managed to slam his head into Raditz's solar plexus, decreasing his power and allowing Goku to hold him for Piccolo to finish the fight."

"So, just hit him really hard in the stomach?" Cress muttered, trying not to make it look like she was doing so, but this was caught by Raditz anyway.

"What are you muttering about over there?"

"I am just thinking out loud about how ugly you are", Cress shot back. At that, Raditz growled, holding out his hand and sending forth a purple energy wave. Cress shot forth a Cosmic Canon, the silver blast colliding with the purple one. Through the explosion and smoke it created, Cress flew forward and caught Raditz off guard, who was hit by a right hook so strong that it caused him to tumble a bit away. Cress charged again, but Raditz recovered just in time to dodge her attack, her foot slamming into the ground where his stomach once was. Raditz capitalized on her foot getting caught in the ground, kicking her so hard she flew a few feet away, landing on the ground next to Goku.

"H-hey", Goku laughed a bit, the earth raised alien on his stomach now and holding his front end up with his forearms. "T-thanks for saving my son."

"Don't mention it", Cress breathed back, sitting up and wiping the blood from her mouth, before standing up and getting in a fighting stance, before charging forward again and entering a brawl with Raditz, both of them throwing punches and kicks, occasionally getting blows in, but mostly the two were blocking each others' onslaught of attacks.

Finally, Raditz made a dumb move, and went for a hammer attack with both of his arms raised above his head, allowing Cress to see the opening just in time. Cloaking her fist in energy, Cress threw out an uppercut which slammed into Raditz's stomach, cracking his armor and stunning the mid-class Saiyan, who stumbled backwards. Goku capitalized on the situation instantly, charging forward and grabbing Raditz in a hold that pinned his arms away from his area.

"PICCOLO, DO IT!" Goku shouted.

Not needing to be told twice, the Namekian repeated his attack name and shot the blast forward, the drill shaped energy slicing through the air before slamming into the two warriors, puncturing both of them and rocking out of the other end, before flying into the mountains and causing an explosion. With her mission complete, Cress became cloaked in energy again, vanishing on the spot and leaving Piccolo behind to await the others as they were on their way.

"That was great", Trunks commented, smiling at her as she reappeared in the Time Nest.

"It felt really good to be fighting for justice for once in my life", Cress sighed as she smiled, looking down at her hands. "But… if I am going to be honest, Raditz was tougher then I was expecting him to be. I can't even imagine ever going up against someone like Nappa, let alone Frieza"

"Not to worry", Trunks dismissed her concerns. "If you decide to join us, there will be training for you to do to make you stronger for tougher foes like Nappa. So, you did your first mission, and got a feel for what the job entails. How about it?"

Cress smiled up at him, extending her hand to meet his own and shaking it. "Yeah, as long as I can get a new outfit. I don't think I want to be wearing this armor on these types of missions, it might stick out a little too much for my own liking. Plus, I never liked the stuff anyway."

Trunks gave a nod and smile at that, "Welcome to the Time Patrol, Cress! And sure, we can make a new outfit for you. As a matter of fact, I can get our tailors on that right now. Oh, but before I do that, there is someone I want you to meet." Trunks turned, smiling at the entrance to the Time Vault. "Alright, she's back and accepted to join, you can come in now!"

Confused, Cress turned to the large entrance before giving a gasp as Goku entered, only he wasn't wearing his orange Gi that he was in when Cress saw him back in the past, wearing instead a black form-fitting short-sleeved shirt and black pants, with black kung fu shoes and blue stockings. Cress could also see a flowing red vest with a long backside that was secured with a blue obi tied over it at his waist and blue armbands. The Saiyan gave her a smile, holding up his hand. "Hiya! Thanks for saving my past self from that time change! Couldn't have really done it myself since it's, well, me in there."

"Kakarot is a member of the Time Patrol to?" Cress inquired, flabbergasted.

"Surprised?", Trunks asked with a laugh. "Yeah, but Goku normally does high end missions involving hunting down people that directly attempt to change the course of history, or those that are not in their proper time period and are causing havoc, outside of the Time Patrol itself that is. He also occasionally gets involved with mentorship, and I actually made a request to have him be your personal mentor, just because you're involved with his history and all that."

"Wow, I'm flattered", Cress walked up to him, admiring the son of Bardock. "Well, alright, I accept you as my mentor, Kakarot. Oh, er, should I just call you-"

"Call me Kakarot", Goku replied with a warming grin. "Since you're a Saiyan from the Planet Vegeta and all that, you should call me by my Saiyan name. So, ready to get started?"

"Not so fast", Trunks laughed, patting Goku's arm. "She needs time to get living accommodations, a new outfit, and other stuff before we throw her into training with you. Give her a bit of time, ok?"

"Aww", Goku frowned, crossing his arms. "Well alright, but I was looking forward to getting started right away."

Trunks laughed, before turning to Cress and gesturing. "Come on, Cress. Let me show you to your home and to the tailor so we can make measurements. Oh, and welcome again to the Time Patrol!"

A/N: I would like to use this author's note as a tribute to the creator of the DragonBall series as a whole, Akira Toriyama, who died recently. He created a legendary series, and without DragonBall I don't think I would be the person I am today, let alone be as into anime in general as I am. Words alone cannot express the impact DragonBall had not only on my life, but the lives of everyone who saw DragonBall, read the manga, or watched a series inspired by DragonBall. I can only hope my fanfiction would've made Toriyama-san proud, and honors his legacy.

Thank you to everyone who has read up to this chapter, and I hope you continue to enjoy this fanfiction, as well as the DragonBall series, going forward.
