It took a while but they both made it there eventually. The moment they entered the factory, Peridot and Lapis were greeted by loads of gems here and wished them good luck. There were two Jades trying to fix a portrait of Lapis and Peridot who's hair is visible as they keep arguing that it is still crooked. "Hey, it's still leaning to the left!" One of the Jades said with the gem on her right cheek. "It is not!" The jade talked back with the gem on her left cheek. "Hey Jades!" Greeted Lapis as she passed by them.

Both Jades were astonished by them and went straight to them. "Hey Lazuli!" One of the Jades with the gem on the right cheek. "Pals I told you, call me Lapis." Lapis told the two jades as they giggled at each other. "Well we just want to wish good luck today-" The right cheek Jade said before being cut off by Peridot saying, "Hey hey hey hey, Come on get lost you two, you're making her lose focus."

"Oh Sorry." Apologized the right cheeked Jade. Lapis then says, "See you later fellas!" The left cheek Jade then yelled out, "Go get em Lapis!" The right cheek one slapped the other Jade saying, "Quiet! You're making her lose focus!" "Oh no. Sorry!" The left cheek tried to apologize before her mouth was covered by the right cheeked Jade yelling, "SHUT UP!"

At the counter ahead of them is a shorter Amethyst answering calls and putting callers on hold and just doing her job and getting bored before hearing a familiar voice. "Oh friendo!" Peridot said seeing her small purple friend at the counter. "Peridude! My man!" The small Amethyst said in her usual attitude. "Happy birthday." Peridot said with excitement in her voice. "Aw dude you remembered! Hey dude."

The small Amethyst said while greeting Lapis. "Oh hey uh…Amethyst." She then cleared her throat for a moment before resuming. "Happy Birthday." "Thanks." Amethyst thanked Lapis. She then asks Peridot, "So uh, are we going anywhere special tonight?" Peridot then Answers her question by saying, "I just got us into a little place called…Fish stew Pizza."

Amethyst gasps in shock after hearing the place. "Fish stew Pizza?! But it's hard to get a seat there dude!" "Not for me." Peridot then said. "I'll will see you in time and not a minute later!" Peridot said as she started to walk away. "Ok bye dude! See you soon!" Amethyst called out. "Think happy thoughts over there." Peridot says before she starts to sing for a moment as both Lapis and Peridot walk away. "Yoooou and Meeee. Meee and Yooou, both of us having a grant old tiiiiiiime!"

Peridot and Lapis are in a locker getting their things ready as Peridot says, "I'm telling you friend that place is the one. It is the one!" "I'm happy for ya." Said Lapis, still looking through. "And thank you for hooking me up with those regulations." Said Peridot as she puts on her visor and Lapis then jokingly says, "No problem but they are under the name "Peridude"." "Oh good Idea-" She stopped and thinked for a moment before saying with an annoyed tone, "You know, that wasn't very funny."

After that her locker door suddenly closed, startling Peridot before turning around to find her locker closed. Peridot opens the locker door only then to be closed again. She starts to wonder why till she sees a little water arm on the door. She looks up to a small blue fairy gem shouting in her face, "PERIDOT!" before scaring her and making her fall to the floor and laughing. "Well what do you know? It scares little humans and little gems!" Said the little blue gem hovering in front of them.

"I wasn't scared! I have…er…allergies." said Peridot ending it with a fake cough. The small gem replied saying, "Uh huh, sure." "Hey Aquamarine, save some for the scare floor will ya?" Said Lapis defending her green friend. "I'm in the zone today Lapis! Gonna be doing some serious scares. Putting up some big numbers." Said Aquamarine as she makes claws and faces with her water wings as she hovers.

"Wow Aquamarine, that's great. That should make it more humiliating when we break the scare record first clod! HA!" Said Peridot confidently before being shushed by Aquamarine saying, "Do you hear that? It's the winds of change."She then hovers away as Peridot silently mocks her words and Lapis looks on. "Ugh what a creep. One of these days I'm really…gonna let you teach that clod a lesson." Said Peridot who was annoyed by the encounter.

A Quartz is finished cleaning the floor and walks away as Peridot walks to the counter with a small rectangle gem on her forehead. "Good morning Demantoid, my grumpy little gem and who are we scaring today?" Said Peridot greeting the gem getting paperwork before she is stopped by Demantoid. "Peridot, You didn't file your paperwork last night."

Demantoid said in a cold and unchanging tone before Peridot then says, "Oh that darn paperwork. Would it be better if it all just…blew away?" Demantoid then leans closer to Peridot and says, "Don't let it happen again." with a bit of an angry tone. Peridot is taken back by this of what just happened. "Yes well uhh…I'll try to be less careless." Said Peridot still worried as Demantoid calls out, "I'm watching you Peridot. Always watching…" "Oh boy she's nuts." said the worried gem as she headed out to the scare floor.

She and many other Gems prepare by getting canisters and putting them on a machine that holds the canister and cards to get the doors to the human world. The doors are weird as they slide open automatically and have a blinker on the door when it is active. As all of the doors reach their spots after the gems put the card, A Pearl steps out as a screen turns on showing a map with a red line on it and says, "Ok gems, Eastern seaboard coming online. We got scaring gems coming now!"

The gems who were on the door wait by the door as the gems assigned to scare are coming in. Loads of gems in size and shape are walking in the room getting ready as Lapis is with them too. The same Jades who Lapis and Peridot met earlier are watching the gems move to their place as the right cheeked Jade said, "Woah they are so awesome!"

As all of the gems arrive at their stations, the gems who were waiting by the door then approach them and get prepared. Some gems started cracking their knuckles, hissing and in Aquamarine's case, forming different shapes with her water wings as Spinel is showing masks to her in a big sliding image. After a moment, everyone is prepared as Lapis says to Aquamarine, "Hey, may the best gem win." "I planned to." Replied Aquamarine who is focused on getting the record.

Pearl then starts a countdown saying, "We're on in 7,6,5.." Peridot and others go to press the button. "4,3" All of the doors are active. "2,1!" And just like that, a horn is sounded and the scaring gems are going in. The job has started. After hearing the first scream, Peridot checks teh canister and it is full and Lapis comes out saying, "Oh I'm feeling go today Peri!" As the points on the screen went up a few hundred as she is at the top of the chart. "Woah! Nice one pal! Ok another door coming right up!" Peridot said as she pressed a button that sends the current door away and a new one approaches.

Aquamarine comes out after scaring the child and looks up at the chart, hers does go up much as she grumbles in frustration. "You're still behind Aquamarine." Said Spinel her helper as she points out that her points are not close to Lapis, close but not close enough. "You know I need to reline the scream indicat-" Spinel started talking being interrupted by Aquamarine shouting, "JUST GIVE ME ANOTHER DOOR!" Scaring Spinel. "Ack! The door! Yes, another door!" As for the other gems, they are doing their part as time passes and points are going up and doors are coming in and coming out.

Bismuth comes in to check the progress as she asks Pearl, "Well, Pearl what's the damage so far?" "Well, we might actually make a quota today!" Answered Pearl before Bismuth sighs then says, "First time in a month." Meanwhile at one of the sations, one of the Rubies is seeing the bar on the canister go up and then suddenly drop. Ruby taps the bar a couple times before a skinny Jasper bursts out of the dead and closes it behind her. She then sobs as she drops to the floor as Ruby asks, "What happened in there?" The skinny Jasper then answered her saying, "A kid almost touched me. She got this close to me!" As continues to sob Ruby then says, "She wasn't afraid of you? She was only 6!" She was then grabbed by the Tall Jasper as she yells, "I could've been dead! I COULD'VE DIED!" Before being smacked by Ruby to get under control. "Keep it together man! HEY! WE GOT A DEAD DOOR OVER HERE!" After Ruby yell out a dead door, the two Jades come with a big shredder while telling them to move away as they remove the door.

Pearl and Bismuth are seeing it happen as Pearl states, "We lost 58 doors this week madam." Bismuth groans in disappointment as she then says, "Kids these days…They just don't get scared like they used to." After the Jades put the door on the shredder, The right cheeked one said, "Let her rip!" as the left cheeked one activated it and indeed shredded the door as other gems still work in the background.

Meanwhile back with Aquamarine, she comes out looking dissatisfied as Spinel looked kinda happy looking at the chart and said, "Uh Aqua?" "WHAT?!" Aquamarine spat at Spinel, startling her. "Look…" Spinel pointed to the screen where Aquamarine is now at the top as Intercom from the small Amethyst says, "We have a new scare leader: Aquamarine." Seconds later loads of gems come to congratulate her before all of them hear screams next to them as Peridot is just putting loads of canisters in and out filling them up one by one till Lapis comes out saying, "Slumber party." before high fiving Peridot and the chart changing again to Lapis back at the top and Amethyst says in the intercom, "Nevermind."

After the amazing performance, the gems who were congratulating Aquamarine are now congratulating Lapis as all of them gave her a high five. "Well Lapis, that was an amazing display!" Said Bismuth coming up to her as Lapis says to Bismuth, "Just doing my job Bismuth. Of course I have to learn from the best!" Both then laugh while Aquamarine and Spinel look on. "Spinel, if I don't see a new door in my station in 5 seconds, I will personally put you THROUGH THE SHREDDER!" Shouted Aquamarine as Spinel runs away to get a new door.

"Hey Peridot! Nice job! Those numbers are pretty sweet!" Said Carnelian talking to Peridot about the score. Peridot then says, "Are they? I haven't even noticed and uh how's Biggs Jasper doing?" Carnelian then responded, "She's doing great! I love working with that big gem!" Biggs Jasper then stepped out saying, "Keep the doors rolling Carnelian, I'm on a roll today!" "Biggs and I are like sisters!" Said Carnelian before spotting a sock on her partner's shoulder and gasping in shock and yelling, "23-19! WE HAVE A 23-19!"

The Pearl heard what she said and immediately ran towards a button and pressed it that whatever everyone was doing as a red alert had been sounded. The Jasper now realizes something is wrong and too spots the sock and tries to get it off. Pearl then yells, "DUCK AND COVER EVERYONE!" As many quarts and Agates jump through the window and everyone else takes cover.

"Oh not the HDA!" Expressed Bismuth as many more of them come through the window and eventually into the building as the Jades put their hands up as one of Quartz points thing at them and eventually the Jasper gets brought down as one of the Quartz takes the sock, places it down and covers it with a domed object meant to destroy anything inside it. As one of them presses the button to detonate, everyone prepares for an explosion but it only happens inside the domed object as the sock is not gone.

They then remove it as Biggs Jasper says, "Phew thanks guys! That was a close one."

But they are not taking any chances as they hold her and use some sort of a shaver and a small hose on her shoulder from where the sock was and using a wax strip to remove any left out germs completely. But not of course leaving Jasper to scream in pain after the wax.

Pearl then says, "Alright everyone take a break! We have to shut down for an hour and restart the system." as a counter on the wall goes back to zero after having 47 days with no incidents. "An entire scare floor out of commision. What else can go wrong?" Bismuth said in a distasteful way as she walked to a coffee machine with Lapis following behind. "Ugh what a day…"Bismuth expressed as she turned on the machine to get coffee.

Lapis tries to be optimistic by saying, "We're just going through a rough time Biz. But everyone knows you're gonna get us through this!" "Tell that to the Diamonds." Said Bismuth as she drank her coffee. Bismuth then said, "Lapis, this company has been with us for many generations. I would do anything to keep it from going under."

"So would I." Lapis answered as Bismuth said, "You know, I could use your help with something." "Anything Bismuth." Agreed Lapis as Bismuth explained, "We hired some new recruits and frankly they are… they are…uhh…" "Inexperienced?" Said Lapis trying to finish her sentence. "Oh they stink!" Bismuth answered before explaining further saying, "I figured you can come by tomorrow and give them a demonstration! Show them what it means to be a top scarer huh?" "I'll give a good old Lapis jump n' cackle." Lapis said as she made a face while cackling, scaring Bismuth then laughing. "Now that's my girl!" Bismuth expressed while putting her arm around Lapis having a good laugh.

After a few hours the stations are now getting ready to go home and sending doors away as Pearl explains, "All doors must be returned! No exceptions!" After everyone is done, they start to head out but before Lapis and Peridot look at how great they did. "I haven't seen anything like you today! You are on a roll!" Peridot expressed happily. Lapis then says, "Another day like this, and that record's in the bag!" As they both walk to their locker to leave.

"So get this, as if dinner wasn't enough. I'm taking her to a Pod rally!" Said Peridot, having a conversation with Lapis in the locker room. "What's on your agenda?" Asked Peridot while Lapis answered, "Figure I go home and work out…" "Again? You know there is more to life than working out." Peridot then smells her hair and is disgusted by it. She then asks Lapis, "Hey can I borrow your spray?" "Yeah uh, Sparkling flower or smooth Gem?" Lapis said to Peridot before asking, "Got the low tide?" "Nope." Answered Lapis. "How about Freshwater?" Peridot said before Lapis gave the spray to and said, "Sure, Sweeten it up." As Peridot sprays her hair.

As both of them are walking out, Peridot starts talking. "You know I'm so great sometimes I wish I could make friends with myself." "Ugh, give me a break Peri." Lapis said, annoyed as Peridot continued on. "One night of hanging out is ahead of me. Because it's about me and Amethyst and continued on. "She said as she pointed at the small Amethyst. "Oh, the friend train is about to go. Honk, honk. And you the moments like I feel like when I hang with her I'll go- YIPE!"

She then is startled by the sudden appearance of Demantoid which is in front of her. "Hello Peridot. Have any plans for tonight?" Asked Demantoid. "Well Actually I do-" Peridot tried to answer but was cut off by Demantoid saying, "And I'm sure you filed your paperwork correctly. For once."

Peridot gave a stunned face as Demantoid walked away saying, "Your stunned silence is very reassuring." After she walks off, Peridot then says, "Oh no my reports! I left them on my desk! And if I'm not at that place by 5, they're gonna take my seat away! What am I gonna tell-...Amethyst…" The small Amethyst popped in taking Peridot by surprise. "Hey Peridude, wanna get going?" Peridot starts to explain but she isn't doing well and Amethyst is getting confused. Lapis saves it by saying, "It's just that I forgot about the reports I was supposed to file and Peridot was reminding me. Thanks buddy."

Peridot is grateful for that as she says, "Y-yeah I did tell him." Amethyst then said, "Well then let's go dude!" Before they went Peridot tells Lapis about the report saying, "They are on my desk, one of them goes to Pearl and the rest of them go to Demantoid." before being pulled by Amethyst and had one more thing to say, "Leave the empty folder!" After that both Peridot and Amethyst went to the place they were going to.

Lapis walks back to their station while trying to figure out which is which. She grabs one of the reports and says, "Oh that's for Pearl." She then turns to get something but stops to see a pink colored door covered in stickers. And what is weird is that the light on the door is active. Who left this here?
