Outside of the base, in the trench, the Resistance troopers carrying their guns in case of stormtroopers occur if they set foot near the trench. "On me! On me!" ordered a Resistance soldier. "Move! Move!" said another soldier. "Go back! Gather your weapons!" said the third soldier. "Get over here!" said the fourth one. "Hold your fire!" said the fifth one.
Just as the Resistance troopers prepare to fire their guns while in the trench to fire at the approaching First Order, observing the incoming opponents was General Caluan Ematt, using his binoculars to witness the upcoming onslaught.
A male Resistance trooper picked up salt from the ground before tasting and spitting it out. "Salt." he said.
"Ground forces, incoming." said one soldier.
"Copy that. On our way." Poe acknowledged from a radio.
And out goes the speed skimmers known as the V-4XD ski speeder, now rusted, but still functional. Those who are on the speeders were Jack, Poe, Rose, Finn, C'ai, or any member of the Resistance.
Jack who is now wearing a Rebel Alliance outfit from the Era of the Empire, consisting of a greenish brown jacket with a grey shirt, gray pants with two black stripes on each side, dark brown boots, and a hat.
"Now THIS is ski racing!" the Jedi said.
Momentarily, Finn has trouble maneuvering his skimmer.
"Hey, engage your mono-ski. The green toggle." Rose tells him.
The former stormtrooper got it right this time.
"Alright, listen up." Poe commanded "I don't like these rust buckets, and I don't like our odds, but..." His left foot accidentally hits the panel due to its age. "What the hell? Just keep it tight... and don't get drawn in too close 'till they run that cannon up front."
"And remember, the Force will be with you, always!" Jack ordered.
As the Resistance prepare to speed towards the cannon. However, Rose motioned to her medallion in remembrance of her sister, Paige Tico, who died during the evacuation of D'Qar.
"All right, ground forces, lay down some fire!" Poe radioed the Trench crew to fire the turrets.
The turrets' lasers are ineffective on the walkers before the TIE Fighters arrive from behind them.
Inside the shuttle, both Hux and Kylo witnessed the skimmers speeding towards them.
"Fourteen incoming light craft." Hux noticed. "Should we hold until we clear them?"
"No. The Resistance is in that mine." Kylo mentioned before ordering. "Push through them."
Back outside the battlefield, dozens of TIE Fighters began speeding towards the skimmers.
Poe was the first to notice the incoming TIEs. "Fighters, break off!" he ordered.
The fighters started firing their lasers at the skimmers before destroying one in the process.
"There's got to be a way to fight back against these things?!" Jack asked.
"Come on! We got to hold them 'till they pull out that cannon!" Poe said as he dodged the laser fire from one TIE Fighter.
The other TIE starts to target C'ai. Jack notices before lifting the controls of his skimmer, which lift off before shooting the TIE Fighter down, saving the Abednedo in the process.
C'ai cheers in his language in sign of respect for saving his life.
The Trench crew are seen being shot at by the First Order before their turrets get shot down as well forcing the crew to take shelter inside. However, the fighters' laser fire is ineffective against the shield door.
Three fighters are shown chasing after Rose.
"Rose, you've got three right behind you!" Finn radioed while witnessing it.
Jack noticed before shooting one down, just then a TIE appears behind him before firing its laser at Jack's skimmer's engine in the process just before the Jedi Force jumped out of his speeder, which it explodes before he latches onto the door of the TIE Fighter and opens it moments before killing the pilot and throws him out then gets inside and initiates the controls.
"It's all right, you guys! I've got one of them TIE Fighters under control." He radioed to Poe, Rose, Finn, C'ai, and other Resistance members. "But try not to shoot me down."
"Understood, Jack!" the captain said.
"We'll try not to!" noted Finn.
Just as Rose is about to get shot down by said three TIE Fighters, which the other two came to help one out before nearly shooting down the skimmer.
"I can't lose 'em!" said a frightened Rose, knowing what she must do.
When the technician is about to be killed, three familiar blasts came from out of nowhere. Rose turns around to her left, the mysterious ship known as the Millenium Falcon has joined the battle.
"Whoo! Yeah!" Finn cheered with excitement.
"Looks like this ship has joined the party!" Jack whooped after witnessing the freighter.
And another blast from the Falcon shot down the TIE Fighter and flies to help the skimmers.
"This is Commander Skywalker, standing by." a voice exclaimed, hoping to connect with any Resistance soldiers.
"Boy are you a sight for sore eyes." said Poe, who radioed.
Inside the ship's cockpit.
"We'll hold off these TIE Fighters, you focus on that cannon." said the man turns out to be Jacen Skywalker, Luke's son.
Also, inside the ship's cockpit is a Wookiee named Chewbacca, who roars a loud moan, and a baby Porg crawls onto the cockpit console as it roars a loud chirp.
"Where did he come from?" Jacen noticed the Porg in front of him before focusing on the battle.
As another TIE Fighter gets shot down before Jack takes down another one.
In the bottom part of the Falcon is its turrets shooting down the TIEs. The one manning the gun turns out to be a girl, who goes by the name Rey.
"Whoo! I like this!" she yelled in awe about the turrets.
"All right, we fly, you shoot!" yelled Jacen.
More fighters, minus the one Jack is flying are being shot down.
In the shuttle, Kylo finally recognized the Falcon, and the TIE Jack is flying helping the skimmers.
"Blow that piece of junk and that hijacked fighter OUT OF THE SKY!" he roared with pure rage.
"All fighters!" ordered Hux.
As Jack shoots down two TIEs before helping the Resistance destroy the cannon.
More TIE Fighters chase after the Falcon. "Chewie, Jacen, peel off from the battle." Rey ordered. "Draw them away from the speeders."
"Understood, Rey!" Jacen acknowledged.
Chewie roars with acknowledgement as well.
The Falcon distracts the TIEs by following them to the caverns in the mountain.
"They drew 'em off! All of 'em!" Poe cheered loudly.
"Oh, they hate that ship!" Finn agreed.
"Shall we get to the nitty gritty?" Jack asked. "Let's it started!"
As they continued to target the cannon before Jack chases the TIE Fighters to aid the Falcon.
"On second thought, I'll help out the Falcon!"
He shoots down a few TIE Fighters which are entering a cavern where the freighter is being chased. Jack manages to get out of the cavern before heading back to the battlefield. As he makes it there, he shoots down a walker with a missile as the Resistance cheered for the Jedi.
"Whoo! Nice shot, Jack!" cheered Poe.
"Great job, man!" rooted Finn.
"All right! Way to go!" yelled Rose.
Jack acknowledges them. "Thanks, y'all!" points to the cannon. " But we got to decimate that cannon."
"There it is." Rose has her eyes on the cannon.
The walkers are still firing their guns to destroy the skimmer.
"That is a big gun." said Rose, gesturing the huge cannon.
"Okay, it's heavily armored." Finn radioed. "Our only shot is right down the throat."
"But at least the cannon is blast-proof." Jack discussed. "Unless missiles could handle it."
As the firing still continues, the cannon anchors itself. However, it is opening its mouth before preparing to fire its laser.
"The cannon's opening. This is our chance." Finn witnessed.
Inside the First Order shuttle, Kylo Ren ordered his troops to shoot down the skimmers.
"All firepower on those speeders."
Hux steps in repeatedly. "Concentrate all fire on the speeders!" Both Kylo and Peavey look dumbfoundedly.
The First Order walkers continue their fire on the skimmers before Jack shoots one down in the TIE Fighter.
In the old Rebel base, Connix and a male Resistance officer overlooked the battlefield.
"We're taking heavy losses."
And Leia looked worried that the spark is blowing away.
The walkers are still shooting down some speeders. A male Resistance soldier screams in terror before being shot down in the process. And another male soldier gets shot down as well. As Poe looks on, knowing what the Resistance has to do.
"They're picking us all off, we're not gonna make it."
"Alright, I'll make my final approach." Finn radioed. "Target in sight, guns are hot."
"No! Pull off!" Poe commanded.
"What?" Finn asked.
"There's no way you could get in a destroy it." Jack said while worried about Finn.
"The cannon is charged! It's a suicide run!" Poe ordered. "All craft, pull away!"
Finn continues to charge towards the cannon. "No! I'm almost there!"
Poe tells his friend to fall back. "Retreat, Finn! That's an order!"
All but Finn head back around towards the trench. The former stormtrooper is too focused on destroying the huge cannon, but Jack still firing at the walker before looking at Finn.
"Oh, this is not good! You got to be kidding me!"
"Jack's right, Finn? It's too late! Don't do this!" Rose called him on the radio.
"No! I won't let them win!" Finn said in a focused tone.
Rose is piloting her speeder to retreat with the other Resistance soldiers.
"No! Finn, listen to Poe! We have to retreat!" she tells on the radio before Finn sets his mouth set aside to focus on destroying the cannon.
The technician is still concerned about her knowing what she must do.
"Talk about ignoring orders!" Jack commented sarcastically.
"Just like when I got demoted after a dreadnought plan." Poe explained about his backlash from the evacuation of D'Qar.
On the ground, the cannon is getting ready to fire its laser to break the shield door open. Inside, the vulptexes are seen in fear along with the Resistance crew, who are also scared.
"The cannon is warming up now." said a male Resistance trooper.
"Copy that. We see it." confirmed the second male Resistance trooper.
"Preparing to fire." said the third male Resistance trooper.
Momentarily, Finn is still charging towards the cannon despite its laser charging. His skimmer's laser blaster falls apart due to the cannon charging. He pulls the lever allowing his speeder to hover in the air.
Up above, Jack is observing the preparing to fire. He sees Finn getting ready to destroy the cannon by sacrificing himself.
"Rose, we got to do something! Finn is going to get himself killed!"
The technician knows what she must do. "Don't worry, Jack! I've got it under control." She turns her skimmer around to stop Finn.
"Good one!" The Jedi agreed.
Just as Finn is about to sacrifice himself, he closed his eyes tightly for the big bang. However, he turns to his right to see Rose coming to stop him from doing the big mistake he was about to do.
The two skimmers run into each other just before the cannon is about to fire in any minute for the time being.
Poe got out of his skimmer right before running towards the trench to order the troops to get inside immediately.
"Move! Go, go! Quick"
"Let's go, let's go!" said a Resistance trooper.
After attempting to destroy the cannon, Finn gets out of his wrecked skimmer before tending to Rose, who just stopped him from killing himself.
"Rose?" He runs towards Rose's damaged skimmer despite the cannon ready to fire.
"Rose? Rose? Why would you do that? Huh?" he asked before taking off her headphones and seat belt just to get her out of the skimmer.
"I was almost there. Why would you stop me?" he was trying to tell her before she woke up to answer his question.
"I saved you, dummy." Rose retorted. "That's how we're gonna win. Not fighting what we hate, saving what we love."
The moment when the cannon started firing its laser to break open that shield door where the Resistance is hiding. Finn and Rose kiss after the explosion occurred. Rose begins to pass out following the battle.
On board the First Order shuttle, Kylo and Hux observe the view after the cannon fired its laser on the shield door.
"General Hux, advance." he ordered. "No quarter. No prisoners."
Meanwhile, Jack is finding a someplace to land the TIE Fighter so he can get in the base.
"That'll do!" he noticed a trench before he lands next to it.
After landing, Jack manages to jump into the trench before he got to the entrance where Poe and the other troops got in earlier.
Just then, I did not add the rest of the Millenium Falcon scene in the red cavern. Momentarily, Jack taking control of the TIE Fighter he possessed after taking out its pilot to destroy the walkers that are attacking the skimmers.
