-Chapter 26 Start-
"What?" I questioned out loud.
It was unnerving to get so many stares without knowing why, especially since we had just finished a large fight versus the Burning Legion.
Thrall, Cairne, and Grommash conversed privately while looking warily in my direction. Cenarius stared at me, studying me intently until his eyes shot up in surprise as he ran right at me, making the earth tremble.
Just as Cenarius stood before me, he practically demanded an answer as he questioned, "How did you do it? You were not supposed to be able to achieve this state for millennia. The last time I saw you, less than an hour ago, your state of being was like a newborn. Reaching so far in a short time is impossible..." Toward the end, Cenarius went even more quiet.
I shrugged and whispered back, "I am honestly not sure what you mean, but I had an encounter with... a relative, and I can only think of this as his doing."
Cenarius stood there silently for a little while. I was having a clingy Valeera hugging me as if her life depended on it. I turned towards Calia as she was standing next to Jaina. I pointed down at Valeera questioningly as she sighed and approached us.
It turns out that Mannoroth had been taunting with the fact that I was dead by now, and when Tichondrius would return, they would all die, and kept leaving remarks like these to play mind games as the fight went on.
This was a lingering thought considering the explosion and then the sky lighting up, which ended up blinding Mannoroth briefly as the large Pit Lord had started laughing over the fact that soon they would be butchered.
But it turned out only to cause Valeera to get anxious over my well-being in the end, as Mannoroth was impaled through the eye, which exited all the way through to his brain, killing the Pit Lord for the time being, as his soul returned to the Twisting Nether.
Just as Calia had finished describing what had happened, Thrall, Grommash, and Cairne approached us. Grommash looked like he had swallowed a lemon.
When Thrall came close enough, he did a light bow and said, "I thank you for sparing my mentor's life, even when you had no reason to. However, the prophet told us we needed to free our people from the demon's influence. Can you give me any sort of reason for this not happening? The prophet and not lied so far, and I doubt he would now... especially now."
I pondered his question momentarily and tapped my chin, "Well, I think the whole ordeal of an event like that not happening could be linked directly to me. I seem to be somewhat of an anomaly, don't you agree, Cenarius?" I replied
The only response I got was a huff and a slight nod as he turned away and started walking toward the woods I just came from.
I told him as soon he entered border to the forest, "Follow that direction, and your daughter Lunara should be approximately a five-minute run, leaning towards a large tree." Cenarius thanked me and made his way into the dark forest.
When I turned back to Thrall, another person had made her way towards me. It turned out Jaina had been staring at me since my arrival. She stood there for a moment until Calia, who was now at her side, bumped her elbow into her friend, which shook Jaina out of her stupor as she spoke, "Oh, sorry, It's just the ambient mana around you is like a silent storm, it distracted me a little."
She coughed into her hand and said, "My name is Jaina, Jaina Proudmore. Thank you for keeping Calia safe, she is one of my few remaining friends, and I have been worried since... Lordaeron fell..." She finished as her tone sunk lower and lower into sorrow for what had happened to the ruined kingdom of Lordaeron. Calia put a hand on Jaina's shoulder as she, too, was affected by the loss of everyone she knew and her family, feeling guilt for the fact her brother was the one who had done the deed of ruining the kingdom itself.
"She has been nothing but a pillar for my plans to make a safe haven for the people we brought with us. I would argue she has been saving me more than I have been saving her since we arrived on this continent. I am the worst at managing and distributing tasks, which she has taken as her calling, considering there's very few in our inner circle capable of doing exactly that." I finished with a little smile until I was disturbed by a disgruntled Grommash.
Apparently, he was set on offering me a debt for saving him and his fellow orcs by stopping them from attacking the elves and getting killed by Cenarius, which they had teamed up with to deal with Mannoroth, taking minimal casualties.
The orcs had lost many warriors due to this encounter, and seemed to gnaw at Thrall's consciousness.
"It is war." Grommash explained simply and shrugged, which Thrall grimaced at and shook his head in disagreement until we heard Cairne in the back cough loud enough to get our attention.
And he said, "We still have a war to fight, the demons according to the prophet said that another leader among the demons had already made his way past this place and had started corrupting the northern part of it while making his way toward the World tree."
And a booming voice came from the forest, "The Tauren is right. I have just gotten a message from the High Priestess that the corruption has already begun, her forces and herself are on their way to awaken the slumbering druids, and they are trying to find a way to stop the spread of fel."
We all turned towards the voice, and as it turned out, Cenarius returned.
"I am sorry to be the bringer of bad news." Said Cenarius and looked towards Thrall, then towards Jaina and continued, "The priestess and her forces were blocked by a settlement of orcs, led by a human knight. They did not attack each other; however, the humans and orcs fell when hordes of undead swarmed the settlement."
Jaina looked shaken, and Thrall did not look too pleased with the news, but they could do nothing now.
Just as I was going to say something, I fell to my knees as an extreme feeling of weakness struck me out of nowhere.
Valeera, who had recently let go of me when I started talking with Calia and Jaina, rushed towards me as I fell forward and hit the dirt face first.
Then the pain came, like a jagged knife that was being twisted and turned around inside my guts. I writhed around on the ground, somewhat able to contain the yell of pain. This was the worst pain I had ever experienced, much worse than when I was put through the whole ordeal as the arcane magic reconstructed most of my body.
Finally, after what felt like forever, I felt at... home? For the first time I had arrived here, I no longer felt like an... outsider. I relaxed when a sense of peace hit me as my body cooled, the feeling of being whole came, as if there had been something wrong all this time, but that feeling of wrongness was now gone.
Then, as if something had reached out to me and hugged me tightly, I fell asleep in its warm embrace.
I woke up feeling refreshed like never before. As I stretched, feeling my joints pop in a satisfying *crack*, I opened my eyes and noticed I was lying in a bed. As I stare at the... ceiling, I realize I'm inside a red tent.
I can see my armor lying on a small table to my right. After a brief moment, I equipped it and exited the tent to figure out what was happening.
Just as I exited the tent, I heard a surprised gasp. I looked towards my side as Valeera looked at me in pure shock, leaving me confused.
Then I heard some shuffling coming from a nearby tent, and a curious Calia peeked out from the opening, and her expression was priceless. Then she opened the tent entirely and stepped outside.
I looked at Calia as she made her way towards me.
'She seems somewhat smaller now...' I thought. She took a small mirror from her robe pocket and handed it to me.
Grabbing the small mirror from Calia's hand, I decided to humor their reaction by holding it up to my face just to go wide-eyed myself and my mouth gaped at what I saw.
'What the...' It turned out that both Valeera and Calia were right to be surprised as I was met with the sight of a face slightly alien to me.
My Draenei features were now utterly gone, and my tusks seemed to have become smaller, my brown skin had become smoother and ears had become slightly longer though. My previous glowing orb-like eyes eyes were now actual eyes, even as the intense blue light was still there, I could see the actual eye behind the radiating glow.
And when I registered the fact that I was staring down at Calia, I noticed that I had grown in height massively, almost two heads taller than before.
I checked my status briefly as I hoped to figure out why I had lost my racial traits, so I brought up the highlighted sections and was astonished after being bombarded by a wall of text.
{MC is 2,38 meters tall, almost as tall as a troll, and slightly taller than a Kul'tiran Human. Male trolls are around 2,55 meters tall, while Kul'tiran Males are around 2,37 meters tall. While Night elf males are around 2.21 meters. Just to add perspective on how height is in warcraft, this ain't One Piece, but it has it's fucked up measurements.}

Still not comprehending what had been done to me and every skill except Elemental Surge had been removed.
Nearly everything had turned into passives. Those I rarely used were simply removed, leaving me slightly irked.
Though the indication of my skills disappearing and making my affinities buffing whatever passives they had been replaced with was a fair trade, it still was a bit odd though.
Now that I looked around me, I realized that everything around me felt alive, or rather much more lively than before.
I could even hear my own heart thumping in my chest. I could feel the magic inside my body dance with joy, then I looked towards the last person whose head peaked out of one of the tents.
Seeing people gape at you gets old real quick. In fact, it had become slightly unnerving.
It took Jaina several minutes to get her bearings until she returned to her tent.
So I turned to Calia and Valeera and asked, "Uhm, how long was I out?"
Calia replied while Valeera's eyes were glued to me, "Erm, well, after you passed out, Cenarius, Thrall, Hellscream, and Cairne all went towards the northern part of Ashenvale to meet up with the High Priestess, effectively leaving us here to keep you safe, as you were practically catatonic for a few hours no matter how much you were healed."
She sighed, then continued, "After several hours of healing, Cenarius had Lunara check up on you to see if there was any poison or fumes in your body, but she ended up finding nothing, as she was simply ejected after pushing her mana into you, quite violently may I add."
With a pointed look Calia stared at me and continued, "You need to stop doing this, you know, worrying us like this. There are lots of people relying on your well-being back in Azhara. I don't know what you did to result in you going into a coma for a full week, but please don't do that again." Calia finished with a wry smile.
Valeera suddenly came up to me, then, after a brief pause, nodded before punching me in the stomach as hard as she could.
It did not hurt, but I followed the blow by bending forward so she wouldn't hurt her arm.
She was the most worried of everyone present, especially after Mannoroth kept taunting them while they fought. Seeing me pass out randomly was probably not the best thing that could have happened to her sanity at that moment.
I was a pillar for her. After watching her parents get killed, I was the only adult she relied on entirely. Calia was one of them too, but not the same way I was. This might be because I give her an outlet on our travels.
Violence seems like one thing Valeera can appreciate at the end of the day.
So after getting caught up on what I had missed in my so-called coma, Calia told me that Thrall asked her to relay a message from him, which was basically: After this war is over, I would like a meeting between the two of us.
That was something to consider. I needed to work on our home, for now, build defenses. I'd let Cenarius and his party deal with the invasion. For now, I needed a slight break from all this.
Just as I was going to ask when we were leaving, Jaina finally came out of her tent. This was, after all, very early in the morning, and it seemed that she was not used to waking up this early. Then she came over to us with a blush and a smile and began, "Glad to see Calia's savior still safe among the living. I would like to travel with you to where your town resides."
Then she took a sip of water from a cup she had conjured and continued, "Calia has spoken about it, and I was heading back to my settlement down south. But I can just teleport once I am done with my visit. I have heard only good things so far, so I want to see if there is anything I can learn and use for my own people."
She then looked at me with her curious light blue eyes and asked, "By the way, I never got your name?" She reached out with her hand in a gesture for me to shake it, which I did and told her, "Medan, Magna Medan."
This caused her to briefly stiffen, but then she shook her head as if in some sort of denial.
-Chapter 26 End-
