-Chapter 51 Start-

-Aegwynn PoV as the fight between Medan and the two dragons had just started-

I stood awestruck when I sensed the magic gathering around us. My grandson's magic flared to life, and with a calm *hum* resonating through the area, I saw it.

It was as if the elements and the arcane intertwined with one another for a moment as his eyes flared with power as he turned into the shape of a... primordial storm elemental. No, this was different. It was as if his very being had manifested itself as the living embodiment of magic that resided within.

It was... beautiful, the violent torrents of power that seemed to channel themselves endlessly toward him. That's when I felt the familiar feeling of time being tempered with coiled around him as he sped up immensely while flickers of light coursed through his now cloudy form.

It filled itself with thin lines of pure and utter destruction, racing through his body as the cloudy shape turned darker and darker purple. His eyes now seemed to radiate even more power. I swore I could see a grin on the gigantic elemental body growing taller each moment.

All this happened in mere seconds; soon, the behemoth of storms reached outward as a gigantic orb of arcane lightning took shape faster than the my eyes could blink as it was sent flying rapidly toward the two dragons that had begun their assault.

Within a second, the Infinite dragon was sent flying, and Malygos looked almost to have been slapped to the ground with a painful collision straight on his stomach as bones could be heard popping and breaking as Malygos's head was catching up with his body.

Soon, a massive amount of portals releasing mages wearing uniformed robes came through while Malygos lay on the ground and roared in anger... and fear?

Suddenly, I saw a large shadow flying directly toward me and my apprentice from the side. I got into a stance to stop the incoming dragon. Still, it turned out it was unnecessary.

Medan's nightmarish shaped body had teleported directly between us and the rapidly approaching Infinite dragon that looked to be on its last legs.

He directly grasped the dragon that seemed to meld with the shadows, as if weaving through the air in a separate dimension, and slowly lifted her up, an explosion of purple lightning coursed through the gigantified arm of his, only now I noticed it had shrunk in size.

After an agonizing cry from the dragon, what happened next went by so quickly that I only saw the dragon race through the air and strike Malygos, sending them both flying into the wall with a *BOOOOOM*.

Then, something straight out of a nightmare appeared above his palm. The conjured object hummed calmly, but from my experience, regarding things like these... I knew it was anything but calm, then I felt the hair on the back of my neck straighten as he threw a small orb directly at the two dragons, 'OH SHIT!' I doubt he realized that the impact of that... spell would hit us from that far away, but I knew better.

"APPRENTICE! TENFOLD ICEWALL!" I yelled in panic. She and her elemental quickly went to work as my teaching and strict commands with her utilization of magic had come to show its actual value. There was no hesitation in her actions, only my shared panic as she had been gaping at the magical marvel between Medan and the two dragons.

I sacrificed every mirror image's magic to assist with the upcoming wave of destruction. The images became undone when their magic was spent by empowering the field around the walls with slow-time.

*HUMMMM* *BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM* *CRACKLE*

I was right. Even with the empowered arcane barrier the mirror images and I had put around the ice walls, the impact had instantly broken down nine out of ten solid ice walls reinforced with the elemental's core.

If it weren't for the additional field of slow-time I had layered around us, we would have been hit by the force that resonated throughout the entire platform.

"Apprentice... *Huff* stop... gaping already. You are not a Murloc, so don't act like one." I said as her eyes focused on the zone of impact. Almost in a trance, she ignored me, then gulped audibly after realizing the walls that could hold back several spells of my own had fallen to the ground in pieces from just the impact of Medan's magic that struck hundreds of meters away.

The next thing I know, I see my grandson holding the Blue dragon aspect by the throat. The other moment, Malygos's head twisted to the side with a nasty crunch, and he let the broken dragon to the ground with a meaty *Thud.*

And I almost slumped down on my knees in relief, but instead I leaned forward and heaved for breath as that took a lot out of me, especially considering that my current power-up had just run out, I had to take out Aluneth once more just to act as a clutch.

My apprentice, however, seemed to only be exhausted due to the recent attack and the fact she had to almost go all out just to put up the walls of ice that had turned somewhat purple as they lay on the ground behind the one remaining wall.

-MC PoV-

As I gazed at the marble of immense power in my hand, I realized I had forgotten about Aegwynn and Jaina when I went all out against the dragons. When I directed my gaze toward where they stood, I briefly froze.

Chunks of ice had been torn apart, littering the ground, and that's when I noticed the platform itself, which was completely forgotten at this point. It was scorched with webs of lightning coming from the source of the impact, spreading throughout the whole area.

I then pocketed the Iris in my cloak pocket as I gazed toward Aegwynn who was slumped onto her staff while Jaina seemed to be breathing heavily. The elemental at her side fell apart and crashed into the floor with a dull *Thud*. The icy core of the thing dimmed as it rolled on the platform for a moment before it evaporated, leaving no trace of its existence moments after hitting the floor.

"You could have toned that down slightly, you know. No wonder the ladies you have encountered thus far have been blown away by your actions." Aegwynn spoke loudly, considering she and Jaina stood some distance away; still, she smiled slightly as she said those words.

I just stared at her for a moment before shaking my head and looking back to what I would call this world's "Infinity stone" and, in this case, a mix of the reality and power stone.

*Clink*

There was that sound again. I had been ignoring that for a while now. Still, suddenly, I stumbled and could hear a surprised shout coming from Jaina as both Aegwynn and her fell forward, and the entire platform suddenly shook violently.

'Hurry... there is... almost no... more... time.' An urgent whisper came from all directions. Aegwynn was put on her guard, even as exhausted as she was, while Jaina looked around to see where the voice came from.

'Channel your... magic... into the... iris... and untangle... the web...' the soothing voice of the titan explained. I immediately did as she asked and felt my magic surge into the artifact. Within a moment, I saw a small space with blue threads appear in my vision as if it were before me.

'While... you do... this... I will... transport... your friends... out... as it... will be... dangerous... here for... anyone... but... you...'

Well, that's interesting but welcome consideration.

Aegwynn protested against these words but was powerless to do anything about it as a portal vacuumed both her and the apprentice backward and out on the opposite side. Jaina just let out a *eep* at that moment.

The last thing I heard as the portal flickered out was Jaina saying, "Please stay safe!" I smiled and continued focusing on the mental map in front of me.

'I very much doubt I can promise that Jaina.' I thought with a wry smile. Trouble always seemed to come to me.

As I gently lifted a glowing blue strand within the mental map, I felt the world around me shift momentarily as I could now gaze into the distance of Northrend, but what I saw amazed me. Under the ground were many blue strands of pure magic. They all came directly from underneath where I stood inside this space.

As I resumed focusing on the ley line's visual representation, I gently lifted another thread that untangled itself.

Like a whip lashed toward the south, I could not see where it went this time as the space between me and the kingdoms to the south was blocked by some kind of invisible barrier.

'So this is the limitation of dealing with this event. The ones entering this world are limited and cannot travel without limits; honestly, it is to be expected. There went my plan to eventually find Pandaria through one of these after dealing with the three currently that needed to be dealt with.' I pondered as I loosened another thread.

This time, though, it went toward the east, directly toward the destroyed Wyrmrest Temple, and I could briefly see the ruins that had occurred. Hundreds of different corpses of dragons littered the ground, be it bronze, red, black, violet, and even a few dark ones, which seemed to resemble agents of the Infinite Dragonflight.

As I had de-tangled the messy map of ley lines, I did not realize I had been sweating due to the sheer focus I had to invest into doing this. If it were an average person or even if it were an experienced mage, I had no doubt they would be unconscious and drained for all their mana within the first thread that resembled the ley line.

This fact proved to be accurate as I checked my MP.

MP: 15,350/46,480

{His mana had been refilled to full due to the exposure to the Iris after the fight with Malygos}

'Damn, this turned out to be quite draining.' I thought as I took a minute before returning to fix the web with more than half my MP.

After a few more minutes of loosening the threads, I finally had only one more to go. Just as I would grab it, Azeroth whispered, though this time without the previous difficulty, 'Don't. If you loosen that you will be stuck here; that thread represents the space you currently are in. If you loosen that, you will not be able to exit, as the ley line will disrupt any use of magic in the entire region.

'You do not have time to wait for that to adjust itself; it will take several days, and there is only some time left to remain in this stabilized rift in the nexus as it will shut itself down even if that were to happen.'

I shrugged and was going to ask her if there was anything else to do before leaving. Still, I got interrupted as I opened my mouth, "The corpse of the dragon you had just slain has an item you might have a use for, as this... world no longer needs it.' Azeroth whispered softly while tinged with remorse and sorrow.

'Loot is loot, I guess.' I thought as I walked toward the corpse of Malygos, and I was directed toward his one remaining wing. Lifting it up slightly, I saw a round object that could fit in the palm of my hand.

Its outer layer was almost the same color as the platform underneath. At the same time, the center was a translucent blue, entirely see-through, 'It is the Arcanomicon. It is what the keepers used to locate the ley lines and tap into its power while also diverting the magical powers beneath the earth, guard it well.' She explained as a blue portal started taking shape behind me.

'I apologize.' She suddenly whispered as the portal almost finished manifesting, then continued, 'For manipulating the events upon your entry to this world, It was never my intent to put anyone in harm's way.'

'This was the only way for me to assist one of the original world-seeds. When I had been forced to wake, I had foreseen things outside my understanding until I completely woke up, then I realized you... you were the only one I could reach out to for assistance.

Your very being is outside of our universe. You have changed the very essence of who you were and were never meant to be... but still, you are the impossibility I would have needed to rely on when the time came... Thank you.' She finished whispering softly. I could feel the motherly affection as she spoke.

As I turned around and had my foot through the portal, I heard a new voice, putting me on guard instantly, making me step back from the portal and turn toward the source, "Y-y-you... B-bastard! T-t-they n-nev-never t-told m-me your p-po-power w-were at th-this lev-level..." The stuttering and raspy voice said with venom and hatred.

Eternus had somehow survived the fight earlier. I realized the reason as a life-like illusion stood by her side, holding her up by the shoulder. Eternus was now in her visage form, the humanoid variant, and she no longer had legs or arms. Her chest was heaving for breath as a football-sized hole could be seen through her gut as her intestines throbbed within.

Her left shoulder and part of the skull were missing, and only an eye remained uninjured on her entire face.

My face became stoic, and I stood still, almost relaxed after witnessing her current shape. Even so, I stepped to the side as a sharp protrusion raced through the air where my head was moments ago. With an insane speed, I grabbed the appendage, it stopped dead in my grasp; slowly, the true form of Eternus became visible. Her smirk rapidly changed into an accepting one on her face while I held her half-transformed arm that had turned into a small black wing with a sharp, pointy end.

Her illusion from before had been her last attempt at one-upping me, though not much was different from the first form she showed me, only now she had an arm and one wing.

She suddenly puked a large mouthful of blood as she fell to her knees, which could now be called stumps, still having that insufferable smirk returned to her face as she once more looked up at my stoic one, "So this is it, huh? Shame, and I, who was just having so much fun... even Chromie, were starting to be fun to be around, even if I ended up killing most of her selves these last weeks an-"

I interrupted her, "Who told you about me?" I asked coldly while looking into her eye, which was rapidly filling itself with blood.

Her smirk widened, and then she coughed up another mouthful of blood before she smiled as blood flowed through her teeth, "That for me to know, and you to find out."

Realizing this was going nowhere, I pondered while holding the female troll-like visage's remaining arm until *CRACK* the platform shook. A large piece flew up, seemingly pressing into the invisible ceiling above.

'You need to leave! This place will destabilize itself, and you will no longer be able to get out before its collapse!' The somewhat frantic voice of Azeroth sounded out in my mind as I could feel her hurried words.

I looked down at the kneeling dragon in visage form, and the air around us froze. Her arm turned purple with a layer barely visible above her flesh that seemed to freeze gradually as it started from her arm and spread to the rest of her body except the vital organs or head. Turns out this process was... VERY painful, as she shrieked weakly until she could no longer as her body spasmed and I released her arm.

She was now supported by her kneeling position because of the frozen limbs attached to the platform.

I then turned around and almost stepped into the portal. However, before I entered it, I turned back and said, "You almost managed to get me, though. I'll give you that. You should have aimed for the head."

And after a brief silence, I continued, "This is goodbye. You taught me a lesson today... never grow complacent, and never underestimate the enemy, which I seemed to have been doing quite a lot lately..." 'I am sorry I could not do more for you, Titan.'

'It is fine. I have accepted my end, or what will follow after my demise. Treat your world well, Guardian.' The gentle whisper of this world's Azeroth sounded out in my mind. Acceptance and grief combined resonated through my being.

Then I smiled at the dragoness, that had gotten a wrathful expression as she shrieked and roared at my back as I turned and left her within the deteriorating dimension.

The dimension, however, would still last until Azeroth's end. As petty as I am, I felt the dragon deserved to witness the world being absorbed into the void or whatever would happen as this world fell to its ultimate demise.

I also ensured that she would not recover as only the necessary organs and essential pieces of her anatomy would work as intended for some time. It was pretty dark. Still, I am one to keep grudges and pay them back severalfold if I have the opportunity to do so.

And as I completely stepped through the portal, I felt something shift in the space around me. Seemingly, the portal did not end as I simply stepped through it. As I now felt the space twist and shift again, I felt myself be pulled to the side, 'What the...' was the only thought I could think before a blue light flashed, blinding me for a moment before I felt myself be pulled in yet another direction.

After feeling thoroughly immobilized, I thought to myself, toggle my notifications as this portal may be a bit... bugged.

I had disregarded my previous notifications as I had yet to get time to review them before now.

Total excess experience: 24,5 Levels.

'Whoah, my attunements have skyrocketed to Tier III except for Earth... how?'

After the initial surprise of the ludicrous increase of attunements passing, I realized that I could actually sense the different elements and my relation to each one now, almost as if they all were harmonized within my body.

Though the Arcane attunement stood on top, almost as if keeping the others in place, this explained why infusing it into different elements had varied results depending on which I put the arcane into. Turns out that if I did infuse fire into arcane, the spell effectivity drastically fell in efficiency.

I had to use the arcane first, almost like a mold, then use other elements on top to effectively boost the other spells of different elements. My lightning was one of those I usually started out with by forming arcane magic into first. Somehow, it had become second nature to me by now.

I presumed this was because of the fact the arcane was at tier IV, while the rest were Tier II or I.

'So that's the difference in attunement Tiers...' I thought as if being enlightened by my own thoughts

As I kept flying through the space that looked like a world of pure blue whirlpools, I felt myself being directed around randomly for a few minutes before I decided to just try to summon a portal of my own with [Warp].

Everything froze around me as my portal started taking shape within this space. Just as it would completely form, I felt my connection to it shatter. I was pulled violently forward into a new area with a bright green circle that seemed to flicker in and out of existence.

Before I knew it, I was in front of this weird circle of light. I couldn't help but touch it with my finger as I felt myself be pulled YET again.

Still, this time, it felt like I was being pulled through a thin tube while being treated like an item going in a zig-zag pattern for a full minute before... *POP*.

*CRASH* I felt myself smash directly into some kind of metallic structure, and an immense amount of electricity coursed through me due to me breaking through the surface of the whatever I had crashed into.

'Ahh, this is some good stuff...' I thought briefly before I drifted to what had just happened, 'Wait... where the hell am I?'

As my eyes were slowly but gradually getting used to the new environment, I heard a loud blaring sound all around me, as if I had been found out robbing a high-tech vault.

As I finally could glimpse what I had crashed into at my side, it turned out it was some advanced machinery. I felt remnants of electricity course through thin copper wires leading in all directions around me.

As the alarm blared and red light flickered around the entire area, I heard rushing footsteps coming down the hall. If the heavy footsteps were any indication, it would be around five creatures heading in my direction.

Now, as my eyes were used to the place completely, I could finally see something that made me pause, 'These... halls look familiar...' I thought and then focused on the ground underneath me, and I could sense that I was now several hundred meters under the ground.

Then I reached for the Arcanomicon I had taken from Malygos's corpse and stared at it as it glowed for a moment in my palm. A palm-sized map of the current area around me lit up in an orb shape. This orb was not larger than a small ball meant for children.

It marked me as a red dot in the ocean of blue structures and shapes as it rapidly took shape.

And as I focused on the item in my hand, the ones closing in on me did not stop their approach. When they finally got in sight, I put the item in my palm into the only remaining clothing not in tatters, my cloak, which had an reserve item bag sown into it.

'Am I back in the original world? Something tells me I am... how?' I pondered deeply.

Five short creatures riding mechanical-looking Ostriches rushed into the hall with funny-looking rifles.

Then, they all dismounted and raised their rifles at me. Two of them shared a glance before one shouted, "Who are you? Identify yourself!" I raised my hands up after a moment to indicate I was not a threat.

That... did not help in the slightest. The fact I was knee-deep into a generator of some sort while metal had been bent inwards, while electricity kept coursing through me, albeit weakly, was seemingly scary for the five short people.

*BANG* One of them actually fired directly at my forehead. Still, the bullet crashed weakly into me and slowly fell into the generator I sat comfortably in.

My passive barrier easily negated the standard bullet. I realized I had put that up without noticing.

This made the remaining four gape at me while one recovered quickly and said weakly, "Erm... good sir, we meant no offense. Shooty did not mean to fire... Erm... welcome to Gnomeregan. How may we assist you?"

-Chapter 52 End-
