When he had returned to his bunker it was a mess and he needed to do some serious deep cleaning from the broken furniture, empty supplies, scrubbing the walls, clearing out all the traps and weapons, and just restocking what he needed. The first night his family just stayed in the Royal Pod with King Peppy and Queen Viva while Poppy and Branch spent the night cleaning the bunker. Poppy felt really bad when she saw the state of his bunker, because she did this. It might not have been her but she let the entire kingdom into his bunker without his permission and they wrecked everything. Now Branch was left to pick up the mess, but she was not going to let him do that alone. "Hey." Poppy said as she finally finished scrubbing all of the BERGAN writing off the walls. "Are you ok?" Branch just looked at her as he finished fixing the last bit of furniture. "Yeah. It is weird. Having them all back." Branch said letting out a sigh before sitting down on the sofa. Poppy walked over to him and sat next to him. "Please don't leave me to figure this out alone." Branch asked in the most vulnerable voice Poppy has ever heard from him. Branch knew it was selfish to ask this of her. She had just become queen and was heading the construction of the new pods along with the moving of the old pods from the troll tree. She was also getting to have her mom back and should focus on that along with proper therapy for the kingdom after what had just happened. Poppy also said that she wanted to continue with her teaching with the young trollings so she didn't have time for her whiny boyfriend who couldn't handle a stupid family reunion.
It was like Poppy could hear his thoughts and knew what he was thinking because she suddenly frowned and pulled him in for a hug before placing his head on her lap so she could stroke his hair effectively calming him down. "Of course Branch. You don't ever have to ask. I will always be there. Just like you've been there for me. We have been by each other's sides from the moment we have met. So let's give each other a little credit here." Poppy believed in what she was saying even when they did not see eye to eye they still had one another backs. Even now. Poppy then noticed that the bunker was finally cleaned up and ready for others to stay there and when she looked down the sight warmed her heart. Branch had fallen asleep in her lap and looked to actually be getting some restful sleep. She closed her eyes and dozed off as well.
In the morning the two woke up and headed out towards the village to get everything in place. Branc told Poppy that today she should spend it with her parents and he would just help his family move into the bunker. She asked him if he was sure and he told her no but this should be something he could handle. She gave him a loving kiss on the cheek before heading off to the Royal Pod to spend time with her family and to tell Branch's that he was ready for them. Last night unknown to anyone JD took it upon himself to go to the Putt Putt Town with Rhonda and all the other Caterbuses to grabb everything from the village so the Putt Putt Trolls could have their stuff. By the time he got back everyone was up and had breakfast but he was tired. When his family left the Royal Pod they saw him handing out all that he could grab and pack for the one night trip. He looked dead on his feet.
"John, did you stay up all night?" Spruce asked concerned for his big brother. John nodded his head. "Figured it would make things a little easier if people had their clothes, some books and other little personal stuff. It is a big change and all. I didn't go crazy grabbing everything in sight, just the important stuff." JD explained. "I didn't think you were. But I think you need to get some rest. We will handle this." Clay said. "Actually we will handle this. You should grab your things and head with Branch to his bunker." Guy Diamond said with Synthx next to him along with the rest of the Extended Snack Pack. The family turned around and saw Branch standing there waiting for them.
Branch has had a hard time finding his new place in life, but with the help from his friends and his loving girlfriend it has made things much easier. They didn't expect him to be like them anymore; they just accepted him as he is. He just feels overwhelmed at the fact that he has his colors back but also with the fact that thier entire family is now back and bigger than ever. He should be happy about it and he is but it doesn't make anything any less hard. Living his life with his family has been difficult but they understand and except that for Branch it just seemed like he was left all alone and for Branch he needs to accept that as bleak as it is he was just collateral damage in a misfortunate time of life. But there were times when they would also forget about his own grief and healing and bombard him with their presents as they tried to make up for lost time. Sometimes they would just act like nothing happened because it was just too much for THEM to handle. Branch tried really hard to act like a normal troll for his family. He just could not take the pity glares that made him feel like he was broken. He would get angry at the fact that no one wanted to talk about that night. But a lot was going on and he hoped that once they were settled into a groove maybe they could start to discuss things as a family. It was really off putting finding out he had a new step mom. She was really nice and he liked her but it was just different.
The family was extremely impressed to see the bunker and Floyd was excited to see the hide out that Branch used to talk about from when they were little. Branch showed everyone their rooms and JD was the first one to pass out and nobody bothered him. Branch was nervous about this whole being a family thing again and was not sure how to approach everything. BUt he did know that having a ton of people in his bunker at all times was gonna be a big change and having thirteen little trollings running around his bunker was going to take some getting used to.
Poppy came into the bunker the next day and it was a mess. Branch was wringing his hands trying not to have a panic attack, all of his siblings were talking over one another. His parents were in the kitchen cooking something that spells amazing and the kids were running around being nuts. Poppy had brought some strawberry welcome home cupcakes knowing that they were Branch's favorite. She set them down on the kitchen table. "What are you cooking? Spells good." Poppy said to Delta who jumped in fright. "Oh thank you darling. I mean your majesty." Delta said with a curtsy. "No please. Just Poppy." Delta just gave her a smile. Poppy may be dating Branch and Ozzy may be best friends with Peppy and Viva but Delta still felt a little out of place with being so formal with the royal family. "So will you be joining us for dinner?" Ozzy asked. Poppy smiled at him, giving him a side hug. "Yes, if you don't mind." By this time Branch knew Poppy was in his bunker and walked into the kitchen. "Of course Poppy you are always welcomed. Or more like you've always welcomed yourself. Only difference now is you actually have an invite." Branch said, teasing her. She did not dignify him with a response, all she did do however was peck him on the cheek.
Their attention was drawn to a loud crashing sound. "I see the kids have made themselves at home." Poppy said. "Yeah. I honestly don't know how you are able to teach your classes. I have a new appreciation for what you do." Branch said, taking a seat at the table. Poppy followed his lead. She felt good about hearing his praise about her child rendering skills. "You teach?" Ozzy asked looking at Poppy then at Delta who was also curious. "Yeah. I teach arts and crafts, and literature to the trollings in the village. Before Branch it was the only thing for the village I actually did other than party." Poppy said, a little embarrassed. Branch took her hand and was going to defend her when she interrupted him. She started to tell his parents all the amazing things that Branch has done for the village and they didn't realize that they had gained an audience of all his siblings. Delta then checked the food. "Well dinner's ready." Everyone rushed to the dining table Branch and Poppy had pulled out when they spent the night cleaning up the bunker. Poppy sat next to Branch officially meeting his entire family for the first time. She was nervous to say the least. Poppy really wanted to make a good first impression and leading peace with the Bergans was a good start. Right?
Delta had made some of her signature Spicy Chili for dinner. Poppy was very surprised when she took the first bite causing everyone to giggle and Branch to grab her a glass of milk and cornbread. During dinner Branch and Poppy learned all about what had happened to his family over the twenty years. Spruce's family, Clay's sad book club, Barb's band, JD's traveling, his fathers remarriage, Branch having a new step sisters Holly and Dixie, and Floyd's coming out. It was a lot to take in and they also said that Peppy had told them the same story he had told Poppy. Dinner became quiet after that. Once everyone was done the kids headed off to play and Poppy helped with the dishes even when Delta told her that she didn't need to, but Poppy being Poppy said that she was happy to. After they were done Poppy Joined her stressed out boyfriend on the sofa as all thirteen kids were asking him questions of various topics. He then whispered to Poppy. "Got any advice for this?" She thought about it for a second and then remembered a song that she has been working on for Branch. "I might. I have been writing a song for you since you wrote all those lovely ones for me. I wanted to do the same for you and this might do the trick." Poppy whispered in his ear. "Hey I have something special for all of you. Who wants to hear a song?" Poppy asked the kiddos who were really excited that Uncle Branch's special lady friend had a fun surprise for them. Before Poppy began to sing Glitz started to hum the melody grabbing the attention of everyone.

The kiddos start to curl up into one another and the adults started to grab the sleeping bags that JD had found when grabbing all the old stuff from Putt Putt Town. They grab Branch's extra pillows and started to lay them on the ground and the kids went to plop on the pillows and blankets to listen to their Uncle Branch and his lady friend. Little Branch curled up next to his Uncle Branch and fell asleep immediately.

Branch felt the stress from the past week melt away at the sound of Poppy's voice and it also had a calming effect on his niece and nephews and his new baby sister. The adults sat around the children and felt at ease with the song that held a safe aura to it. Branch could argee. He wasn't quite sure what the future held but he knew that tonight he could get through it with Poppy by his side. She truly was his light in the dark for all those years he was grey.

Branch could not believe that his wonderful and amazing girlfriend wrote this for him and you can hear their story in this song from their time in the pot for Trollstice. He could not help himself but started to sing along with her as she sang chorus for the final time. Poppy's focus was on the kids as they started to doze off to sleep at the sound of her sweet singing, but her focus was then snapped to Branch as he started to harmanize with her. She could not help but smile at him. The love between them was very obvious and his siblings could tell.

Branch placed Little Branch with his brothers and sister before sitting back on the sofa. All fourteen kids snuggled into the sleeping bags and blankets that their parents and aunts and uncles had pulled out for them. Resting their heads on their pillows Poppy and Branch sweet voices lulled all of them to sleep. Poppy just curled up into Branch and he placed a kiss on her forehead. "That was lovely." Poppy just smiled and looked up at the man she loves. "And I meant every word. You have been my light in the dark Branch. I can't imagine doing any of this without you." Branch looked down at her with love in his eyes. "I'll never have to." Not realizing that they were not having a private conversation. Branch's entire family just smiled at the two and headed off to their rooms leaving the kids to their impromptu sleepover. Branch led Poppy to his room and the two snuggled in his bed. Poppy was still jealous about Branch's bed being better than hers, but at that moment she didn't care she was in her boyfriend's arms and that's all that matters. The two fell into a much needed sleep. It has been a long couple of days.
Ok so I am adding a chapter before What goes around comes around I figured it worked out better this way. I hope Y'all have enjoyed reading this. This has definitely been a blast writing and I can really feel myself improving with each chapter and like I said I will try to post each story at least once a week. Also with the school year starting back up with a new semester I will try to figure out the best time during the week to post. I will try to spread out my posts on different days of the week. The top one is most likely gonna be next but the rest are not in order. Let me know if you approve and how I should work it into the story. I am doing this for y'all and bit for me so let me know what you think should happen for what song. Except for Sexy Back and of course What Goes Around….. Comes Around. I have plans for that.
