A/N: I don't know how many chapters there will be. I know that updating once a week is slow going, and I apologize for that. My full-time job is very taxing and I'm also searching for a new place to live, which I'm sure everyone knows is a pain in the rear.

I will tell you this and it's spoiling a little bit, but Edward won't have Bella for very long.

ENJOY!

Rear-view Town

Chapter 13

Paul's head nearly exploded as Bella's words penetrated his brain. Bella...Bella...Bella. That's all he could think about. He couldn't figure out what he needed to do or say. Getting her home was his priority and he was failing. He should already know where his wife is. A sadistic vampire has her and he was draining her.

"Paul?" Bella knew he wasn't listening. She knew he was on the verge of completely freaking out. "Paul? Baby, please answer me."

"Angel, we're gonna find you." Paul was trying his hardest to be positive. Then his phone rang. "Lahote."

"Paul? Hey, this is Alice Whitlock." Paul's head perked up. "We're on our way. We'll be in town tomorrow. Emmett and Rosalie are on their way, too. They should be there tonight." Alice sighed into the phone. "We're sorry this happened. I tried to warn him. We'll get her back, but he's good at hiding."

Paul put his hand over his eyes. "I don't need to hear that. He has my wife. She has babies that need her; I need her."

"We'll find her," Alice promised. "He's good, but I have an advantage. He'll slip up."

"Thanks, Alice. I'll see you tomorrow." Paul closed his eyes and thought of Bella. "Angel, Alice is on her way. We'll find you."

"Thank God." Bella knew that she needed to keep Edward talking. She hoped he would tell her more about why he kidnapped her. "Edward, please. I need to get home to my babies."

Edward threw her rings across the room and roared in anger. "You ripped my heart out!"

"You said you would let me go if my feelings changed. You know that I can't control an imprint." Tears began to fall as she thought of Paul. She needed to be home with her family. "You have to let me go. My babies need me."

Edward paced back and forth until he stopped next to the bed. "You screwed everything up." He shook his head. "And your dad..." He growled. "Don't even get me started on him."

"Where is my dad?" Bella's heart began to hurt. "Please, Edward. Where's my dad?"

Edward gave her a menacing look before he turned for the door and flipped the light off leaving Bella in complete darkness.

"Paul?" Bella made sure her mind was completely open. "Baby, can you hear me?"

"I'm here, Angel. Have you figured out where you are?"

"No. There's no windows. He has definitely lost his mind. I don't know where my dad is." Bella pulled on her bindings. "He has me strapped down."

Paul's worried mind flooded into Bella's. "Has he bitten you?"

"No. He told me I'm his singer. Whatever that is."

Paul closed his eyes and thought of the first time he went on patrol, and they found Edward up a tree. He had called Bella his singer then, as well. "Angel, Jake is calling the police to track your car. It has a GPS, remember."

"It won't work. He switched cars. I have no idea where he left mine. He had us tied up and blindfolded." Bella groaned. "I feel like I'm about to pass out."

"Keep your mind open as much as you can. We're trying really hard to find you. Alice and the others are on their way to help us." Paul's phone began to ring, again. "Angel, Carlisle is calling me."

The last thing Bella remembered was Carlisle being mentioned before she passed out. She was so weak that she could barely keep her eyes open.

Charlie's whole body hurt. He was sure that both of his legs were broken, and the room he was in was completely dark. He was definitely laying on a concrete floor. "Hello!" Pain shot through his lower back causing him to groan. "Jesus, please."

"Jesus isn't going to save you." Edward said into the dark room. "No one is because I won't let them."

"I hope my son in-law rips your head off then pisses on you." As bad as Charlie wanted to move, he couldn't. Any movement at all made his entire body light up with flaming pain. His legs were hurting more than anything.

"Not if I get to him first. The longer I keep Bella with me, her imprint bond will break, and she can be with me forever." Edward sounded so sure of himself. He had no idea how truly strong Paul and Bella's imprint bond really is.

Charlie chuckled. "You really are stupid." Pain shot through his hip causing him to moan from his discomfort.

Edward clicked his tongue against his teeth. "Now, now Charlie. No name calling. It's rude to be that way with your host."

"You're not hosting shit. You're a kidnapper and murderer." Both men were quiet for a minute. "Are you going to kill us?"

"I haven't decided about you, but Bella isn't going anywhere. I finally have her back where she belongs." Edward flipped on a light even though he didn't need one. "Ooo, Charlie, you look rough."

Charlie huffed. "No thanks to you." He looked down at his legs. "I need medical attention."

"And you have it." Edward smiled at Charlie as he placed his hand on his chest. "Do you know how many times I've been through medical school?"

"Then do something about my legs," Charlie said in a demanding tone.

Edward chuckled. "I might. It depends on my decision to keep you alive or not."

"Edward, please." Charlie would relentlessly beg if he had to. "Please let us go. This won't turn out the way you want it to."

"Of course it will." Edward tossed a Capri Sun and a pack of peanut butter crackers at Charlie's chest. "I brought you a snack."

"Edward, I don't care about me, but Bella needs to be with her babies. She only breastfeeds them."

Edward rolled his eyes. "That's what baby formula is for. They won't starve. I'm sure the pet store has puppy milk." He shook his head. "You know, I should've taken Bella when she was five."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Charlie propped himself up on one elbow. "We haven't even known you that long."

Edward crouched down next to Charlie out of arms reach. "The first time I met Bella was when she was five. You were at the mall with her, and she wondered off. You never knew because I made sure she found you."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Charlie's mind began to wonder and tried to think back to when Bella was five. He found a vague memory of being at the mall with her trying to find new clothes to start school.

"She was so adorable. She was way too young for me to take then." Edward stood up. "Bella's my singer, Charlie. That's something you'll never understand." He leaned against the wall by the door. "So, I waited."

"You're right, I don't understand." Charlie closed his eyes when more pain shot through him. "Why don't you explain it to me."

Edward thought for a minute and wondered the best way to explain what a singer is to a lousy human. "I've never smelled someone's blood like Bella's. Carlisle and the others agree with me. The first time they met her, all of us needed to go hunt so we wouldn't tear her to pieces. Her blood is very potent. It's like finding that one smell that you just have to have."

"Like a drug addict or alcoholic." Charlie stated more than asked.

"Exactly." Edward smiled at Charlie's description. "When she turned 15, I knew it was time for us to finally meet. That's when I asked Carlisle if I could come home. I had been on my own while she was growing up. I always kept tabs on her; even left gifts for her every year for her birthday and for Christmas."

"That was you?" Charlie asked surprised. "I thought it was my neighbor."

"You never paid attention to your bank account, either. You're so set in your ways that you never once, in all these years, glanced at your monetary balance." Edward shook his head. "Your late wife's social security benefits are direct deposited every month and covers your monthly bills. You never thought it was necessary to ever have cash on your person." He chuckled. "You haven't even noticed the large credit to your electric bill."

Charlie didn't want to say thank you. "I appreciate it." That was about as much of a thank you he could give. "But that doesn't make it right about what you're doing to us. Why me? Why take us?"

"You've been a thorn in my side since the day we officially met. Always hovering and making all those strict rules for Bella to follow. You even bought her a piece of shit truck instead of something she deserves." He stuck his hands in his pockets. "Bella has always deserved the best of everything."

"She has the best of everything," Charlie says snidely. "Paul is everything she ever needs and their babies." He knew that what he was saying was pushing Edward's proverbial buttons. His temper and jealousy had poked his head out on more than one occasion especially where Jake was concerned. Those two had gone head-to-head over Bella more than Charlie could ever handle, but thankfully when Bella would step in, they would back off of each other. Charlie was sure that Bella wouldn't step between their fight this time.

Edward growled. "She needs me!" He roared. "I'm all she'll ever need!" As soon as those words fell from his lips, he knew he was proving Charlie and anyone else who had noticed, his sharp temperament disorder.

"She'll die, Edward, if you keep her from her imprint and their babies. You're killing her already by having her here." Charlie wondered if he was doing the right thing by telling Edward that Bella would die.

"She won't," Edward argued. "I'll make sure of it." He started pacing the empty room. In all honesty, Edward wasn't sure of what he was doing. He was just flying by the seat of his pants. "I have to."

"Edward." Charlie was trying his hardest to keep him talking. He was using some of his training for hostage situations. "You have to know that this isn't right. If I don't get my legs treated, I could get an infection, and if Bella stays away from her husband and their babies for too long, she will die. She has to be with them."

Edward's thoughts were going 10 miles a minute. He couldn't let Bella go. He needed her with him. She is his. He didn't care what anyone else thought. Alice really had tried to warn him, and he didn't listen. He refuses to let anyone make any decisions for him but himself. "She has to be with me." Those were his last few words to Charlie before he left him in a cold, dark room.

Paul paced the sidewalk outside his house. The entire pack had congregated there so they could come up with a plan. They had located Bella's car and got it home. It was completely covered in Edward's stench, and not one clue as to where he could have Charlie and Bella held hostage.

A black Jeep with blacked out windows pulled up next to where Paul was standing. Emmett hopped out as Rosalie exited the passenger side. The entire pack gathered around. Very few of them knew Rosalie and Emmett. Jake and Sam were the first to greet them. "Emmett," Jake said, nodding in his direction. "Thank you for coming. This is my brother Paul. I'm not sure you guys have officially met."

Paul stepped forward and extended his hand and nodded. If Emmett was going to help save Bella, then Emmett was officially his new friend. "Good to meet you, man." All the wolves kept their opinions to themselves about their smell, and the vampires did the same way.

"Bella's our sister regardless of what happened to our families." Rosalie stepped up next to Emmett. "She needs to be home with her babies."

"We all agree," Sam says as he joins the circle. "From my understanding, two more of your family members will be joining us tomorrow and one is clairvoyant."

Rosalie nodded. "That would be Alice. She's been able to see Bella since Edward took her, but Edward knows how to get passed her visions. He knows how to block her and send her in a different direction."

"That's not good," Paul said as he roughly ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't know anything about the stuff you guys can do, so anything to get my wife back, I'll do."

"Alice will be here first thing in the morning. She has a good feeling that Edward will make a mistake somewhere. He's already made one when he lost his phone." Emmett shook his head. "I haven't known Edward as long as Carlisle has, and I didn't meet him until after he went rogue the first time. I never thought of him being this way."

Rosalie slipped her arm through Emmett's. "None of us did. Alice said he's been toying with her visions since Bella went to Port A. She was afraid, so that's why her and Jasper left town. We left because we didn't want to be around Edward's blubbering. We've dealt with it for years, so we know how much of a downer he is."

"My heart feels like it's being ripped from my chest the longer she's gone. I need my wife home. The babies already know something isn't right." Paul turned for the house. "Let's go inside. I'm sure one of us can think of something."

Everyone gathered inside. Paul was thankful that he chose to buy the bigger house just as everyone started taking seats. "Does anyone want anything to drink? Or eat?" Cora asked. The twins were busy trying to get the babies to sleep. Paul took Creed and held him close. "Sweetheart." Cora walked up next to him. "Here's a bottle for him. There's breastmilk in the freezer for them."

"Thanks mom." Paul kissed Cora's cheek. "They know something's wrong."

"They're babies, sweetie. Of course, they know something's wrong. Especially when it involves their parents." Cora slipped her arm around Paul. "We're all here for you to help with anything."

"May I?" Paul heard from behind him and turned to see Rosalie. Emmett was next to her.

Paul looked at them for a minute. "Sure." Then the twins walked in with the girls. "This is Creedance. We call him Creed," he says as he passed him over to Rosalie. "And these two are Malia and Ember."

"They're beautiful," Emmett says just as Rosalie started gazing at each of the babies. "They just inherited another aunt and uncle."

Paul nodded. "Let's get their mother home then we'll talk." He noticed Billy sitting off to the side by himself. "Excuse me." He walked over and crouched down in front of his dad. "Pops, you don't look good. What's going on?" Paul reached out and touched his hand. "Dude, you're burning up."

"I don't know what's going on. I can't stop thinking about Bella and Charlie. I can't stop wondering if they're hurt." Billy rubbed his hands over his face. "We have to find them."

Sam walked up. "We will." Then he noticed Billy really didn't look well. "Paul, bring him outside."

"What's going on?" Paul stood up then stepped behind Billy to push his wheelchair. "Is everything okay?"

They made it to the backyard just as Billy exploded into his wolf. He screamed and howled as his body transformed, breaking the bones that were going to be broken soon anyway. The pain didn't last long as he landed on all four feet.

The rest of the pack came running out to see Billy's wolf standing back from everyone. "Dude!" Jake said. "Dad?" Billy growled to answer his son then sat back on his haunches.

"It's him," Paul said and smiled. "It's definitely him."

Cora was next to come outside. "Bill?" She walked over and knelt down in front of him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "It happened." She nuzzled her face into his neck. "It happened, baby."

Billy purred into his wife's hair sending chills down her spine.

Jake and Paul walked over and hugged Billy's wolf. "It's good to have you back, Pops."

Everyone else stood around dumbfounded as to what they were seeing. Billy actually burst into his wolf from anger over Charlie and Bella being taken. It was a miracle in their eyes to see Billy walking on all fours, again, and he'll be able to give up the wheelchair. His human was jumping with joy.

Don't hold it against Paul, he was excited that his dad won't need surgery any longer, but his wife was still missing. "I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but we need to start brainstorming to find Bella and Charlie." Paul watched as Billy walked into the house as his wolf and Cora followed. Paul knew he was going to phase back to his human but couldn't do it in front of everyone. "He can't be too far considering where we found her car in Clallam Bay."

Emmett and Rosalie tried to think if there was anywhere that way that Edward had talked about before and both were coming up blank. "I wish Alice would get here sooner," Rosalie said. "I honestly think we can't do this without her."

"Can you contact her and let her know where Edward left Bella's car? Maybe if she goes there first, that might spark a vision." Paul rubbed his hands over his face. "I can't hear her right now. She said she felt like she was going to pass out."

"You can hear her?" Rosalie asked genuinely curious.

"All imprints can hear each other," Sam says just as Billy walked out in a pair of Paul's sweatpants. "It's good to have you back, Billy. Charlie's gonna be surprised when he gets home."

Cora couldn't keep her hands to herself as her husband walked to join the rest of the pack in the backyard. "It's good to be back on two legs."

"We were about to start brainstorming. There has to be something that we missed." Paul tried to reach out to Bella. "Angel, are you okay?"

"Paul? I can barely keep my eyes open. He hasn't been back in to see me." Bella groaned. "I think he has me drugged."

"Fuck!" Paul hissed. "That piece of shit is dead." He grabbed his hair. "I promise, Angel. As soon as Alice gets here tomorrow, we're hoping she can break through his bullshit."

"Please hurry." Bella faded out, again, making Paul's heart ache so badly for his wife.

Paul looked around his back yard at his pack brothers and his parents. "We need to find her now. She thinks he's drugging her because she can barely stay awake."

Thank you!
