I know for a fact that i want Kai with Skylor. But I'm not sure if Rose will develop feelings for Cole or rekindle with Kai before Season 4. As far as Jay/Nya? Please bare with me!

Inside the city. Rose sighed heavily as she sat in the park, looking at a picture of herself and Kai. She leaned her back onto the tree behind her while enjoying the shade.

At the Monastery, the Ninja are loud while training. "My turn! Uh, it's my turn!"
"Oh, you want a little more? Take this!"
"Yeah? How about a little of this?"
"Monkey paw to the head!"
"Ninja roll!"
Sensei Wu stops meditating, pushing himself to his feet and moving towards the game room, only to find the room empty.
"Dragon punch!"
Sensei moves to the front of the Monastery, opening the front doors he's surprised to find the Ninja using the training course. Jay is deflecting arrows with his nunchucks until he accidentally hits himself in the groan making him double over in pain as he holds himself. Cole is going through the dummies. Kai is practicing is Spinjitzu, and Zane is meditating.
"Ninja go!"
Suddenly Zane stands from his meditation and disturbs the others. Jumping in front of Jay.
"Huh?" Jay tried to blink away his tears of pain as he slowly and painfully pick himself up.
Zane moves to Cole, stealing the Scythe of Quakes to slice off a dummy head before giving it back.
"Hey!" Cole complained.
"Ninja go!" He spins in Spinjitzu, freezing the whole training course, and Kai slides out of his own Spinjitzu.
"Whoa!" He glides, unbalanced before falling onto his back. "Oof." Standing back up, he wobbles over to Cole and Jay and grabs Cole's arm for support.
"What's wrong? Can't stand on ice?" The black Ninja asks.
"No." Kai shook his head. "I can't, and I can't skate either." He pauses as he looks around, then looks towards Zane. "This roof isn't big enough for the four of us."
"Correction." Cole corrected. "This roof isn't big enough for him."
"It's like he's in his own world." Jay added, then raised his voice. "I BET HE CAN'T EVEN HEAR US!"
The three watch Zane as he trains. Wu approaches the three angered Ninja.
"Sensei, Zane's." Kai trailed off thinking. "Weird."
"What is weird? Someone who is different or someone who is different than you?"
"No Sensei." Cole shook his head. "He's 'weird' weird."

Some time earlier
Wearing a black tank top and black pants, his pants down to his ankles as he reads a newspaper while sitting on the toilet. Soon the door opens and enters in a while nightshirt, obviously doesn't see Cole as he goes up to the mirror and start to comb his hair, while Cole stares at him in shock and embarrassed.
"Do you mind!?"

A few more days later. Jay and Nya are sitting watching a romantic movie, both in tears, before laughter is heard and they look at Zane, who's laughing.

More days go by
In his pajamas, Kai walks into the kitchen, yawning as he moves to the fridge to get a late night snack. Opening the fridge, he finds Zane - freaking Kai out.
"Ahh! Holy bologna!"
"I'm sorry. I consumed the last of the deli meat. Cheese?"

Back to the present. The Ninja and Wu continue to watch Zane as he continues to train. "We like the guy." Kai defended. "He's really smart. He's just." He trails off again. "A little off sometimes."
"Zane is a brother." Wu told them. "Brother's are often different. I should know."

Rose breaths heavily after climbing the stairs of the Mountain Of A Million Steps, as she rests the mailman slowly walks up the steps before setting his bag down, he looks at her before doing a double take.
"Ahh!" He places a hand on his chest. "Young lady, don't do that!"
"I didn't do anything."
"Well, don't scare people after they've climbed this mountain!" The mailman complains, pulling the rope and a loud gong is heard.
After a few minutes, the doors open to reveal the Ninja. "Rose?" Kai asked in surprise.
"We have to talk!" She said firmly, folding her arms. "It literally took me all morning to climb this mountain!"
"Kai, let her in." Sensei told him.
Kai took Rose's hand and led her into the courtyard, they moved to the entrance of the building and sat down. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Like I said, I wanted to talk to you." She said. "You were a horrible Blacksmith."
"You came all the way up here just to insult my skills?" He asked dryly. "If it wasn't for your dad."-
"Don't bring my dad into this Kai."
"I won't have too." Kai huffed, trying to calm his temper. "What are you really doing here?"
"I found your families shop. But it was closed, I feared that it was closed for good. So I went looking, I was told that you and Nya now live here."
"Just because we're being nice, doesn't mean anything." Kai huffs, folding his arms. "What we had is gone. No more flame, no even a flicker, or."
"If that's a reference then."-
"I have fire, what do you expect?"
"I exp."-
"Excuse me." Jay interrupted, making the two turn to see him.
"WHAT?"
Jay yelp and hide quickly side stepped to hide behind Sensei.
"Oh." Kai straightened, quickly changing his attitude. "I'm sorry Sensei."
Wu holds out a water bottle. "Here." He holds it to Rose, who took it.
"Thank you." She opened it and took a few drinks.
Jay backed up and hurried over to Nya. "Where did Kai find such a hot - ow!" He cried, rubbing his head after Cole smacked him upside the head.
"Rose's dad use to be a Blacksmith." Nya answered.
Zane walks around sadly, Jay took noticed.
"Hey, Zane. How come you never hear anything from your parents?"
"I don't remember my parents. I've been an orphan all my life."
"You mean you've never had a home?" Cole asked. Zane just shakes his head timely.
Wu walks up to him. "The Monastery is your home now."
Zane just walks away sadly, walking past a still arguing Kai and Rose before disappearing into the monastery.

A few hours later, in a forest, and a large treehouse.
"I can't believe you hypnotized one of the Ninja. Does the General know?"
"Of course not!" Skales turns to his fellow Serpentine snake. "He's been put under the control of Lloyd. But I plan to use it for my best interest."
The Serpentine moves away, just as the General moves towards Skales.
"Everyone works while you two slack. As my second-in-command, I expect more from you, Skales."
Skales bows a little. "Yes, General." He said and he watches as he starts to leave. "General, you know I am most loyal to you, but I must question this childish agenda. The Ninja have stolen our staff yet you instruct your army to make this playhouse for Lloyd? Snakes don't belong in trees."
The General turns to him. "You know better than to question my judgement, Skales. I'll pretend you didn't ask."
"Hey!" Lloyd yells, gaining their attention. "If we plan to rule Ninjago from here, this elevator needs to have a trapped door! I want more booby traps!" Lloyd yells at the two.
"As you wish, young Garmadon." The General bows.
"And I want the girl tied up!" Lloyd yelled, turning to point at Rose who struggled against two Serpentine.
"Let me go, you slimy freaks!" She yells as she struggles against them.

Back at the Monastery, the Ninja minus Zane are in the dinning room. "It's a shame Rose didn't want to stay long." Jay comments as he and Cole sit next to each other while facing the Smith siblings. "She's ho."-
"My ex!" Kai cuts in hotly. "And nothing more!"
Nya sighed, she knew Rose still harbored feelings for Kai. "Whatever you say, Big Brother."
"Is she off limits?" Jay asked, that earned him a face plant of shrimp from Kai.
"There's a rule about dating your friends' ex, ya know!" Kai again said hotly as the plate landed upside down on the table.
"Mmm." Jay smiles when he pops a few shrimp into his mouth. "Oh, I love it when it's Zane's night to cook."
"Hey. I didn't hear any complains about my duck chowder last night." Cole said, elbowing him.
"That's because it glued our mouths shut." Kai remarks, making a face. "You really thought Jay was speechless all throughout dinner?
"Yeah." Jay folds his arms, looking at his best friend. "Please don't make that again."
Zane then enters, wearing a pink apron with flowers and white fluffs while holding a big tray with a turkey. "Dinner is served." He places the turkey down on the table.
His friends start laughing at him. "What's so funny?"
"Zane." Nya breathed. "You, you're wearing … even I wouldn't wear that!"
He frowns. "You laugh because I take steps to ensure I'm clean after cooking?"
"Haha! No! We laugh because you came out wearing that ridiculous outfit!" Kai said.
Zane looked down at the apron. "I guess we don't share the same sense of humor."
"Well, how about this?" Cole asked, picking up the second plate of shrimp, he hits Jay in the face. Everyone but Zane laughs.
"How could you not find that funny?" The Master of Earth asks, as Sensei moves from the head of the table to come up behind him, then dumps a bowl of soup on his head. "AH!"
"Now you are brothers." Sensei said, just before a food fight erupts. Still confused Zane leaves.

Later that night. Rose, now tied up to a stilt for the treehouse, looks up at the starry night sky. "Kai." She whispered.

The following day, Zane is leading the other Ninja through the forest.
"I don't think even Zane knows where he's going." Kai said, he, Jay and Cole finally met up with Zane. "Uh, tell us again how you stumbled upon Lloyd's secret headquarters?"
"I followed a bird."
Jay thumps Kai in the arm. "And you say I'm the bird brain." He looks at Zane. "Why did you follow a bird?"
"Because it danced."
"Oh … ok. Was it a cuckoo bird?" Jay, Kai, and Cole laugh.
"Of course not. Everyone knows cuckoo birds are not indigenous to these forests." Zane said before running off again, leaving his friends stunned, the three shrug it off before quickly following.
They finally reach the treehouse.
"Watch it!" Lloyd'd voice yells from somewhere. "No, bigger! Come on, we don't have all day! It's not time for a lunch break."
"Holy cannoli, Frosty was right!" Cole said.
"We can't let that brat and those snakes get a foothold of Ninjago." Kai said. "We gotta destroy that thing before it becomes operational."
"Whoa! Are you sure? It looks like a pretty cool tree house. There's a ropes course... Ooh, a tree swing!" Jay exclaimed cheerfully.
Cole turns to glare at him. "Hey! Remember who's team you're on. Alright, guys. What do we do?"
"You're team leader, Captain." Kai remarks. "So, lead on."
"And being a good leader is taking on suggestions, fire boy." Cole remarks.
"Hey, they have your girl, Kai." Zane said.
"For the last time, Rose." Kai pauses. "Wait, what?" He turns to see where Zane is pointing. "Agh! That brat is is gonna get a good old fashioned spanking!" He studies the treehouse. "It looks like the entire place is being supported by those three trees. Once those ties are severed, the whole place is gonna fall like a house of cards."
"But why would one make a house of cards?" Zane asks with a frown. "Such construction would be careless."
Kai shook his head. "Oh brother."
"Travel in shadows boys." Cole said, moving forward.

From where she's tied up at the roof, Rose struggled. Suddenly the Ninja arrive on the roof.
"Ninja go!" Jay uses Spinjitzu to sever the first rope, Rose screams when the treehouse falls to the left and the Serpentine all stumble around while some fall.
"Ninja go!" Zane uses Spinjitzu to sever the second rope, making the very top of the roof fall and the treehouse drops. While inside, Lloyd slides into a railing, he looks up spotting Kai at the top.
"I said no Ninja!" The brat yells. "Attack!"
"Everyone!" Skales yells. "Retreat!" The Serpentine flee the treehouse, abandoning Lloyd.
"Cole! Wait till we're off the treehouse, then cut the line!" Kai calls, towards Cole who nods.
From her tied up spot, Rose struggled to free herself. "Kai!" She cried. "Kai!"
But none of the Ninja could hear her as the treehouse groaned and started to quake. "Where's Cole?" Jay asked.
"This whole place is coming down!" Kai exclaimed, and suddenly a hypnosied Cole jumps down in front of them.
"No one goes anywhere until you deal with me!" He threatens as he approaches, and the three back up into a corner of the roof.
"What's gotten into him?" Kai asked.
"He's under their control." Zane answered.
"Yeah, well he better snap out of it quick because this whole place looks like it's about to go down!" Jay replied. He looks at Cole. "Ok, now come on. Friends don't hit friends." Cole kicks Jay in the jaw. "Ow, ok. I-I-I-I'm gonna ignore that."
"What're we supposed to do?" Kai asked. "If I use my sword, this place will turn into flames faster then a tinder box."
"Isn't the anti venom in the staff?" Zane asked.
"Yeah, but the staff is back at at the Monastery." Jay answered, just seconds of Cole knocking Kai off the roof, Zane quickly saves him.
"Jay! Use your lightning." Zane turns to him, he swings Kai back up who flips and lands back on the roof. "Try to shock him out of his trance!"
"Oh, sorry, Cole, but this is gonna hurt you a lot more than it's gonna hurt me." Jay said, swinging his nunchucks and zapping Cole, but that one made him more angry and knocks Jay off the roof.
"Jay!" Zane and Kai yells.
As he falls, Jay manages to catch a rope, the same one that Rose is tied too. They swing around the treehouse and Jay cuts the rope above Rose and she drops into his arms as the treehouse continues to collapse.
"That is a serious safety hazard!." He said as he sets Rose down and unties her. "Are you ok?"
"I think so." She looks shaken. "Thank you Jay."
Suddenly a flute is heard, and the two turn to see Flame flying towards them, while Sensei plays the Sacred Flute while Nya sits behind him.
"A real dragon." Rose breathed, staring up at Flame.
"Don't worry, he's on our side." Jay smiles.
"We're getting outta here because this whole place is coming down!" Nya calls.
Jay turns to Rose. "May I?" He asks. When she nods, he lifts her up fireman style. "Better hold on tight." He warns before using Spinjitzu and landing on Flame, he sits her down behind Kai and Zane is now behind him.
The whole treehouse collapsed to the ground.
"That flute!" Kai said, his brown eyes on the instrument as Rose wraps her arms around his waist, carefully moving around his sword as Flames flies off.
"It cancels their powers!" Jay added.
"It's as old as the Serpentine themselves." Wu told them. "But we must hurry! The Monastery is unguarded!"
"Hurry Flame!" Kai instructed, his dragon picked up speed.

B y the time they return to the Monastery, its burned down and still covered in flames. The other three dragons cry out for help.
"Oh no!" Rose gasped.
"We're too late! Those snakes!" Kai growls.
Flame lands down, the Ninja jump down, Cole runs over the other dragons and release them. The Ninja jump off Flame, then the dragon hunches down and moves a wing to let Rose slide off.
Kai pulls off his hood. "Our home."
Zane looks up at his dragon, who was hovering close by. "Shard! Put this out!" His dragon uses his ice to freeze the flames.
No one said a word for a long time.
"The training equipment." Zane was the first to find his voice. "Gone."
"Our video games!" Jay cried. "Gone!"
"What … happened?" Rose asked.
"They stole their staff back." Sensei answered.
"What do we do now?" Cole asked, just before Rocky brushes his nose against him, Cole turns pets his dragon and gently leans on him.
Kai's sorrow turns to anger as he crushes a small piece of drab, and he turns to Zane. "If you hadn't followed that silly bird, none of this would've happened!"
"Kai." Sensei warns.
Jay is quick with his anger too. "No, Sensei, he's right!" He turns to Zane. "Because of you, my high score has been deleted! Permanently!"
"This is a teaching moment." Zane said. "We must learn from this."
"A 'teaching moment'?" It was Cole's turn to become angry. "What's wrong with you? Don't you get it?! EVERYTHING IS GONE!"
"ENOUGH!"
The three angry Ninja turn to Wu.
"We are all at fault. Zane is your brother. Apologize at once."
The three hang their heads, before turning back around. "I'm sorry Zane, I." Kai started, then trailed off as Zane had disappeared.
"Zane?" Jay asked.
"He's leaving." Rose points to the sky, the three Ninja turn to see Zane flying away on Shard. "Nice going, burn barrow." She punches Kai in the arm.

A few hours later, the Ninja are on the Mountain Of Impossible Height, a tent for shade had been set up as they try to regain their spirits, the three remaining dragons watching them.
"I'm sorry, this is all I have." Rose said as each of the Ninja, Wu and Nya each have a can of beans.
"This will work for now." Sensei told her. "Thank you, Rose."
"You're welcome." She smiled, just as Jay rips a loud gassy fart.
"Remember, we must be thankful for what we still have." Wu reminds.
"What do we have?" Cole asked, before he let out a gassy fart. "Our home is gone."
Rose shivered from the cold sense the sun was going down.
"You know, I don't miss our home." Kai said as he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close for warmth. "What I really miss is Zane."
Jay's shoulders slump. "Yeah. I miss Zane."
Nya suddenly sees something. "Zane?"
"Yeah, Zane. You know. White Ninja. The smart, strange one." Jay replies.
"No." Nya points behind him. "Zane!"
Everyone turns to see Zane walking towards them. "Zane!" They all run up to him.
"Zane. We're so sorry for everything we've said. We're a team and that means we're all responsible." Jay apologized.
"You don't need to apologize to me."
"But what about all those awful things we said?" Kai asked. "Isn't that why you left?"
"Of course not. I saw the Falcon again and I followed him."
"That's our Zane." Cole said before he, Kai and Jay hug Zane in a group hug.
"We're happy to have you back." Nya smiles, making Zane frown.
"Why? Is it my turn to make dinner?"
Everyone laughs. "Yes Zane." Wu places a hand on his shoulder. "We would love for you to make dinner."
"But I already made it. Come. I want to show you what I've found. I think you will all be pleased." Zane leads everyone to the Sea Of Sand. "I can't explain it, but I feel a strange connection with the Falcon. I think he's trying to help show us the path we need to take." He shows them the Destiny's Bounty. "Our new home."
"A pirate ship." Rose said, making Jay bounce.
"So freaking cool! I always wanted one!" He pauses. "Do I smell pie?"
"Cobbler berry. Oh, and I made myrtle berry and apple and." Zane trails off when Kai, Jay, Cole and Nya race the Bounty.
"I'm proud of you Zane." Sensei places a hand on Zane's shoulder. "One day, I promise. We will find your family."
"But I've already found them."
Wu turns to Rose. "Join us, Rose. You are apart of us now." He offers.
She smiles. "Thank you, Sensei. I'll stay as long as I can."
Wu turns back to Zane. "I feel there's more to you than meets the eye. There's something special about you, Zane."
"Sensei, will I become the Green Ninja?" He asks.
"It's too early to tell, but if it's in your path, you'll know." Sensei places his free hand on Rose's back gently. "Come now. Both of you. We must have a piece of those pies before Cole eats them all."
